Review from Stef H.
This place is bigger, cleaner and more well-lit than the Arques location so I prefer to come here, but...
Why don't you offer spin classes?
Why do cardio machines remain inoperable for weeks at a time?
Why are parking spots so tight?
Why is the women's locker room floor ALWAYS slippery?
more importantly...
Why are the men that work here so gorgeous? -
Review from Jyoti C.
I hate it..but I have to love it :(
All my olfactory glands, cells and neurons go out on a strike the moment I step into the gym..They are assaulted and temporarily faint, die or pass out of the over intoxication of the sweat odor that lies in wait to attack your perfectly functioning smell sense and without a hesitation shuts it down within seconds of you being in this odor hell.
But, not to worry these also revive the moment you step out after your humble contribution to the already lingering odor which can then attack and kill everyone else's sensory glands..Sigh of relief, you are not the only one *wink wink*..:D
There there, I painted quite a picture..let me tell you what happens when you are ready to leave..Open the door to step out...and you are hit by a breath of fresh air..LITERALLY...fresh air..I never appreciate fresh air as much as I do at 7 PM when leaving this place..God bless earth for fresh air!
Anywho, with the shut olfaction, I get my way through all the machines I want to work with..of course many treadmills are broken, not working and unsatisfactory..but still when I am there..I am there..I work out and without letting the broken stuff affect me, work out and get out of there.
Love ZUMBA here..you should really try it..I work out 4-5 days a week..out of which at least 2 are Zumba days..keeps workouts fun and different..a different breath of fresh air..LOL :)
Overall..a love hate relationship..have to stay fit on a budget, have to go in here..love me some "me-time" here, listen to music, break a sweat, break a leg and don't bother about broken machines :) -

I started coming to this gym after signing up about 2 years ago at the Arques location. I was so disgusted with that gym I decided to come here instead;it's about the same distance from my house. On my first visit, I showed up and had to wait in a line to use a treadmill. The people in the line were super rude but I did my workout and left. It's just like Arques, old equipment that seems to work only part of the time. My issue was that the treadmill incline went up and would not go back down...at all.
After deciding that the equipment is pretty lame I decided to take part in Group X classes. My first class was Will's Thursday 8pmTurbo Kick Class. WILL GETS 5 STARS! He is GREAT!! He's friendly, funny and an awesome class leader. He gives cues and keeps it upbeat and fun. I am so happy to have stumbled into his class. I haven't missed one of his classes all month. You don't feel out of place in his class. I have also gone to Don's pilates and Susan's Piyo class. I will return to Piyo and probably pilates when I get stronger. I really appreciate that these three teachers have been helpful and not judgmental to the newbies...like me!
I guess my review is mostly for the group classes. I would say if you go there to use the treadmill etc, good luck to you! Other important factors are the parking lot situation. The lot is NARROW, I mean, super narrow. I have come so close to hitting cars every time I come here and I drive very carefully and watch and go slowly and everything. I haven't ever had trouble finding a spot, even when I show up on Monday evenings and it's packed; there's usually a spot here and there. The desk staff is okay, sometimes they say hi but not usually. I called once to find out if you had to preregister for the classes and was told that you have to arrive 1 hour early for Zumba and Latin Explosion to get a pass. They seem to be in the know (for the most part) about what's going on. Other concerns about the pool and restrooms will have to wait since I've not used either facility. Based on the other reviews, I doubt I would use the pool. I bring my own water and pee before I leave home so as to hopefully avoid the restroom.
One last comment on the ventilation issue: I'm not sure if they have AC or not. The time I used the treadmill it was incredibly hot and stuffy and STINKY. The group X room has AC units and fans so it's not as bad in there. -

It's been crowded since I started in 1997 and tho a super sport opened up a year ago it didn't help alleviate the congestion! Weekend is fine but Monday thru Wednesday from 5-7pm, expect wait on any equipment!!

Review from Lynn C.
This is the closest gym to my house and the easiest to get to after work (taking 85 S). I have a love/hate relationship with this gym. Its so convenient but that parking lot is worse than any Ranch 99/Mall-during-Christmastime/SF-during-Flight-Week parking lot. The rows are too narrow. People decided to park anywhere that they think their car can fit. After three years of going here, my [new/used] car was finally hit by someone. Hit and run. The saddest night ever.
And I digress because this is a gym, not a parking lot. The gym itself is always busy. The classes are great (love TKB on Mondays with Don!) and I'm super amped about trying the Latin Explosion class. You know it's a crazy good class when you have to come an hour early to get a pass to the class and then start lining up half an hour before class. The instructors there are so energetic. Only downside is that these classes are really crowded and the rooms get so filled and so warm that it's like doing Bikram [fill-in-the-class]. Not for people who are super sensitive to heat or BO for that matter.
Thee's always a few machines broken here and there but there's a ton of cardio machines to choose from. There's always a myriad of characters to watch if you're like me and get entertainment from people watching while you're doing 40 minutes of treadmill. The people that work here are friendly and not creepy ("how did you enjoy your 49.5 minutes of working out??).
Just that damn parking lot and the smell (I think that's just a byproduct of being a gym really). I like the Mountain View 24 hour Fitness sport MUCH better because it just seems to be less crowded, more airy, and have better upkeep. You just can't beat the convenience. -

Over the years I have lived all over California and have been to many different 24 Hr Fitness clubs throughout the greater Los Angeles area, San Diego Area, Bay Area, and Sacramento. In general I have found them all to be a fun place to work out, and they were always pretty clean, and the equipment was always in working order for the most part.
However, when I started going to this location, because it is the closest to my house now, all that changed. I have never seen more broken equipment in my life!! there is always at least 4-5 treadmills broken, and then several of the ones that aren't officially broken don't work properly either, usually because the incline/decline function is broken. There are maybe 3 working stationary bikes, and there is always at least one broken stairmaster.
On top of not working properly, the machines are ALL outdated, but for whatever reason, this location doesn't seem to be allowed to get any new equipment.
The parking lot is a disaster, I am always able to find parking somewhere, which is not something that can be said for every other location that I have been to, but the lanes are so narrow that I am always afraid that I'm gonna find a huge dent in my truck after I'm done working out.
And finally, just to nitpick at this point, but for whatever reason, this location seems to smell worse than the others. I know its a gym, and that its natural to expect some interesting odors. But for some reason this location just smells a little bit more like an armpit than the others.
With all that being said, the staff always seems very friendly, and I can still always get a good workout in, and I will continue to go there as long as it remains the closest location to my house. -

This place used to be a 4 to 4 1/2 star gym but I have noticed a lot of things lately that have me thinking twice before I decide to come to this location.
1) It always seems to be packed. Do not get me wrong every gym has its busy moments, so if you plan on coming here plan accordingly. I notice that if you get there before 9 AM you are good but if you get there after 10 AM you are going to be fighting for machines. Same thing for the afternoon. Any time between 2 PM and 4 PM you are good to go, but if you plan on going around 5 PM then beware. I will say that it does not seem as busy as it used to be due to a SuperSport opening up a few miles away.
2) The equipment always seems to be out of order. I am mainly referring to the cardio equipment (treadmills, stairmasters, etc). I do not know if they have trouble getting their technicians out there, but when a gym is already busy and all of the machines are taken up because half of them are broken then there is a problem.
3) The staff is hit or miss. Some are very friendly and others just seem to be taking up space when needed. Not much else to say in that area.
4) The reason I even gave this place 2 stars was because they weren't always this bad and at one time were a very nice gym. Not sure if it is because of the newly built SuperSport down the road (maybe some corporate neglect on 24 Hour's part) but there is definitely some room for improvement. Also, it is open 24 hours and does have a pool and sauna, which make it nice after a hard workout.
Try at your own risk! Very hit or miss type of venue.
BTW...some of the pictures listed for this location are not accurate whatsoever...looks like someone copied and pasted another gym locations pictures into this location. -
Review from Yun C.
I attended a 90 minutes Zumba one Sunday afternoon and WOW, the class was huge!! I think there were like 100 people fit in there and it did get packed (you have to get a pass to get in). They did check for the pass, so if you don't have one, they will turn you away.
What I dislike is that.... well.. I know it's only a "sport" club and not "super sport" but I thought the layout of the club is super weird. Seriously, you have to go there to see and know what I'm talking about. The woman bathroom was a bit in the nasty side.. it's old and dingy and only two stalls were working and two sinks were broken when I was there.
I walked around and checked out the machines.. seems like they only had really really few elliptical machines. -

The air in this gym is very stale. It smells like carbon dioxide and sweat, lots of sweat, especially in the summer. In the winter it is better.
The steam room smells like someone peed in there.
The parking situation is crazy jammed packed. The spaces in the aisles of the parking lanes is so narrow, I am surprised I haven't heard of people crashing into the back of other cars.
Other than that, I think this is ok. I go there if I absolutely have to. Otherwise, I go to the Mountain View one. I like the air there better. -

GYMS= TORTURE CHAMBERS, self afflicting torture, you volunteerily go to a awful smelling place only to break a sweat.
Considering all the other 24 hour fitness gyms, this is one of the better ones. They do have plenty of equipment, and it seems newer than the smaller gyms. I haven't taken any of the classes they offer there but it seems to me they do have a lot more classes than the other sports gyms.
Why not a 5 star? Although it's big and have plenty of equipment, i simply hate the parking lot!! It has very little parking and people, (old aunties and uncles) just simply can't drive. And that parking lot is just ALWAYS crowed.
Pool and jacuzzi seems to be alright, yes it is dosed with a lot, a lot i mean A LOT of chlorine. And just embrace yourself, the place does reeks. They seriously need to crank up that AC because it reeks!!
Overall, it is a gym, so it will stink, im just glad it isn't dirty and the equipments aren't old and there isn't a line or a sign in sheet for cardio machines like other 24 hour fitness. Staff here are friendly. And you do get your workout here. -

This location is clean and always has machines available. The best part I love about this gym is their Group X instructors at this 24 hour fitness. I have membership of both super sport and this gym but somehow I always land up at this one just because of amazing group X instructors and very friendly staff. If you want to ever try weight lifting classes, try with Mariellen, she is funny, helpful and supportive. Their rumba class is also very popular, so you need a pass a week in advance or come an hour early in order to be part of the class. Great place to unwind!

San Jose, CA
They have THREE squat racks!! The majority of my workout requires a squat rack or the barbell so I usually have to wait at other Active or Sport clubs that only have 1 or 2 squat racks. Anyways the rest of the gym is alright. It's definitely not as clean or 'new' as a Super Sport, but it does the job. Enough cardio machines and normal machines for everyone. The pool area (pool, jacuzzi, sauna) looks dirty, but maybe it's just cause it has an older look to it... Also there's no water fountain with cold water. At other 24s, I've always discovered 1 random water fountain that's cold and the rest are just tepid. Protein shakes taste so much better with cold water and it sucks that they only have tepid water here. And their parking sucks! Not only does it take awhile to find parking, but their parking rows are so narrow and cramped that I park far away to the side cause there's more room to back out. I'm always afraid ppl are gonna hit&run or door ding my car there.
The front desk ppl aren't as friendly as all the other 24s that I've been to. They rarely say hi to you even if you check-in right in front of them and they never say bye to you when you leave. They're usually just BSing/talking to each other and could care less about ppl going in and out, even though that's their job, right?. At other 24s, they greet you with your name and some even remember your name when you leave. -

This 24-Hour Fitness needs a good spanking. It was recently remodeled, but it's still an underachiever. The equipment is old, the pool is over-chlorinated, and the sauna is loud, crowded and stinky. To top it off, the women's changing room is horrendous. It's often jam-packed with wet, slippery floors (because of the pool.)
Inexcusable is that five of the eight women's shower doors have been ripped off. I'm not shy, but when I'm scrubbing my naughty bits after an intense work-out I don't like people watching me. Apparently most women feel the same, because there is always a long shower line. Everyone waits for one of the three showers with doors, while the other five showers sit unused. Lame.
They have one class at this gym that is 5-star. Miggy holds a 1-hour Zumba class on Mondays & Fridays at 10:30am. This class is so popular, you need to get there one hour early to get a free pass and you'll be dancing (and sweating) with 120 other people. It's an awesome class for both beginners and accomplished dancers.
Hint: For those addicted to the elliptical machine, there is more cardio equipment upstairs behind the front desk. Warning: parking is a nightmare at peak periods. -
Review from Sera P.
The recent renovation:
-Why did they get rid of the window that shows the pool inside? :-( I feel like they got rid of a aesthetically pleasing aquarium that I looked forward to seeing everyday I walked in!
-Other than the wall behind the front desk, what really changed? I didn't notice that anything was different at all. If you happen to know, please leave me a note.
The facility:
-WOULD have been 4 stars if I didn't jump on a treadmill or elliptical to realize that it's broken (no sign posted), EVERY single time I come.
-COULD reach 5 stars if the equipment got some TLC once in a while.
-But I'm so glad that they upgraded the ellipticals in the cardio room upstairs! Finally. They were literally breaking apart piece by piece!
The scene:
-Good mix of a younger crowd (early 20's) and older adults (40-50's). Everyone seems to love exercising, are super motivated and kick ass at it!
-Girls: No loud, chatty girls that wear make-up while walking slowly to avoid sweating. The girls here are getting their workout on! Love it!
-Guys: Only a few meathead roided out douches here. A lot of them are just lounging around the machines trynna look tough and/or making obnoxious grunting noises. -
Review from Tina N.
Warning: the pictures associated with this listing are all wrong except pictures 10 and 11. Very misrepresented! And unfortunately, they do not allow cameras in this 24 hour fitness. I wonder why...
I'm not a hardcore gym rat and I've only gone to apartment gyms (one upscale gym and one not so great) so I really have no basis for comparison. But because of an up and coming Hawaii trip, I'm forced to get my fitness on :(
My friend goes to Club One and she could've gotten me membership for $60/month. I wanted to give 24 Hour Fitness a shot so I signed up for their 7 Day Guest Pass (online). I went a good 5 days I think and it went pretty well. So well, I ended up signing up for a membership on the 8th day. For $25/month, it's totally worth it. Costco has a deal where you can sign up for a 2 year pass, averaging $13/month.
My workout is pretty straight forward. I don't touch the swimming pool, I don't use the sauna, I don't take showers here, hell, I don't even pee here. I use the weights, the elliptical machines and the treadmills.
I will say that it does get really crowded during peak hours (Mondays are their busiest days, come 5-7PM and it's packed). I try to avoid these hours but sometimes you just can't. The treadmills get taken up quick and some are always broken. Sometimes there is a small line forming too. It has affected me once where I ended up going home since I didn't want to wait. Same with the elliptical machines.
I don't really smell any BO so I don't know what everyone's talking about me. Maybe it's ME with the BO?!
The truth is, if you're really that uptight about how crowded it is, how bad it smells, how dirty it is or how just plain awful it is, you could easily pay a little extra more a month and go to a better gym.
Oh, but you don't because you're cheap. So yea, you get what you pay for.
P.S. Bring your own towel. They're like $1 at IKEA. -

Santa Clara, CA
This is the place to go if you want to lose weight AND your HEARING. Zumba classes are waaay too loud. Why do they need to turn the volume up sooo high? Is losing your hearing really worth it? The place is full of germs it feels. I hear lots of staff coughing and sneezing. When signing in with the ID, one staff held my ID in the hand that she sneezed into. She did not even say sorry. I couldn't run fast enough to wash it off in the bathroom! Yuck.
Don't go there if you can only go on weekday evenings. The place inside or in the parking lot is crowded. For the popular exercise classes, you have to line up one hour ahead to get a pass. You are treated like a number.
The cardio area is so stuffy. Everyone is so warm and sweaty. Why don't they have some fans in the area for better circulation?
There are lots of weight machines but not enough room for general stretching when the exercise room is occupied with a class.
Locker room feels icky cuz' the floor is often wet. Bathrooms are dirty too. They need to have a janitor on staff full time so things can be cleaned more often.
It gets a star for being an affordable place to exercise. If you don't mind the crowds, then this place is pretty good for the price. -

This is getting ridiculous. I'm a regular here and after they opened the Supersport down the street, I feel like they've just completely given up on this place.
-3 of the 4 bathroom stalls in the women's bathroom are constantly out of order. The one working one has water dripping from the pipes.
-The water fountains have a nasty taste, and one is always out of order.
-10% of the cardio machines are out of order and never seem to be repaired.

Santa Clara, CA
PROS:
-HUGE!! There is so much equipment, especially cardio equipment, that I've almost never had to wait for a machine, despite going at rush hour times (the only exception is the bench)
-Good variety of equipment: I'm no workout expert, but this 24 seems to have every necessary piece of equipment, both cardio and weight.
-Friendly staff
-Cheap, if you are patient and willing to bargain down their asking price
CONS
-Crowded: this place is always crowded, even at 5:30 in the morning.
-Hot: The cardio area is really, really, really hot. It feels like a workout just standing there.
-Smelly: The cardio area near the locker rooms smells like....well, like a bathroom. -

This is my go-to gym and I don't have any complaints except when some guys who sweat profusely and have extremely bad, pungent body odor that makes me almost pass out.
The trainers Michael and Nacim are really cool and have helped me out with certain exercises that are tough to get the form right. I never find myself waiting so long for a workout bench or exercise machine that it ruins my workout.
They sometimes have crazy deals on their protein shake or other supplements and EasyPay gets you 10% off on pretty much everything :) -

Signed up for 24-hour fitness with my Costco pass for 2-year membership in January, and go to this one on a regular basis since it is walking distance from my house.
Overall I have been satisfied with my workouts. I try and take advantage of the equipment and the classes that are offered. My main concerns with the place is that the air circulation upstairs where the ellipticals are sucks, and definitely feels stuffier than the rest of the gym. The personal training area with the fitness balls and additional weights can feel crowded when more than 5 people are in the area. The room where the classes is pretty big, but definitely creepy with the window in the back with runners on treadmills watching...especially when you are doing yoga or pilates.
The personal traingers and instructors are friendly. It does get crowded, and there are times when you have to wait in line for cardio machines (around 6pm on weekdays). There are some machines that are out of order, but I've noticed they are quick to fix them. Overall I think the gym just needs a revamp how it looks, to look more inviting and accommodate for all the people that come at peak times, but has all you need for a good workout. -
Review from Jamie C.
So I reactivated my card, but they made me sign up for a new one. Last seen: 2008. People behind the counter looked appalled.
Them: "What you haven't been to 24 since 2008?"
Me: Yeah so? I'm poor
Them: Okay let's sign you up
Man way to judge people. I like how everyone who comes here just blatantly stares at others (women) while working out. Fun times.
I need to lose my gut. -

Can't really beat the $299/2years deal at Costco. (or is it $199...cant even remember) But...you can!
This place is always PACKED and pretty grodi. I attend the body pump class at least once a week, and when I don't have the chance to wipe down the weights and bars, my hands break out in hives and get extremely itchy. Gross!
Most of their treadmills are broken on the days I decide to use them. Hm coincidence?
If the new super sport down the street wasn't so much more expensive, I'd be there. You truly get what you pay for. -
Review from Ling H.
I come here for the Pilates classes Wednesday nights at 8PM with Don and Saturdays with subs usually it seems for the past few months, but usually it's with Don or Chris G. They are both great instructors with different approaches to pilates with similar exercises, but different at the same time. Don I tell you though, works your abs out like no other! Love his teasers and challenges especially his 2 minute planks!! With Chris G., I stretch parts of my body that I didn't know were so tense or sore and I love it when he throws in his teasers!! This seems to be the only gym around my area that has pilates classes!! 24 hour needs more of them!
Pretty clean gym comparable to the Parkmoor one with the same amount of treadmills and stairmasters. -

Meh, I've been to worse 24 hour fitness locations. This is in the middle of the pack. It's more spacious and cleaner than the Arques location, definitely not as nice as Super Sport. There's some old equipment there, but whatever gets the jump done! It's got a good amount of equipment and a big variety, three squat racks, three free motion cable machines, an upstairs up/cardio area, and a big exercise room. I think the biggest plus of this facility is the fact that they have a functional strength room, which has its own weights, another free motion cable machine, medicine balls, exercise balls, agility ladders, 12 inch hurdles, and a good amount of jump boxes. Definitely will be putting those to use!

This place is gross, I go in during lunch and I saw the cleaning person use the dirty cloth that was used to clean the equipment used to wipe down the water fountains and then proceed to clean the mirrors.

Review from Grant S.
I am sorry, this place seems to be over crowded, you have to fight for parking and like I said in my "tip" it SMELLS! Then why do I go? Because not all my friends have "super" sport membership. I may complain about how lazy the trainers & towel service is over there, but this place smells. And it's not just because it's a gym. I go to several 24 hour fitness facility's and there is mold, a broken pipe or perhaps a dead body no one can find. It SMELLS. Not to mention the equipment is old, a couple of broken machines without any mention of it, which should be placed on it to avoid injury. I went there at another time and it wasn't as crowded, but it still had that smell. The photos I took speak for them self. They have a deal for something like $15.00 a month, is it worth it? I don't know you judge for yourself with the few pictures I took. I will say it is worth $15 dollars to get the hell out of there.

Review from Shinny L.
I really had a hard time switching over to 24 hour fitness, but I have to say some of the benefits include having a full gym and a wide selection of classes within a close radius to home and I can go to anyone of them. I like the Mountain View (not-super sport) gym because it has its own group exercise room in a separate building, but it's too mentally far for me to go unless I am desperate for a class (or desperate to take WIll's TKB class, a favorite of mine).
I mainly go to the gym for classes (cardio kickboxing or some variety of that and yoga), stretching, and occasionally lifting free weights.
The 24s in the area (Arquess, Fremont, and MTV) all have these amenities, though I have to say that yoga is not great at 24 (I've just about given up. The best class I have attended is at the Fremont street gym on Sunday mornings and it's usually so packed it's hard to find mat space), and the stretch areas are a bit on the lacking side. Otherwise, I'm here pretty regularly.Listed in: My Neighborhood

I think this is one of the better 24 Hour Fitness. I come here regularly and I leave pretty happy.
The front desk people are nice, say hello and answer any questions. One girl was really helpful when we were claiming a deal and offered her opinion. Staff seems pretty friendly and knowledgeable.
The locker room are ok, I wish they felt a bit cleaner but I'm in and out. Plenty of locker space.
The pool is great for laps, though there is a tad more chlorine than I like - I swim and enjoy the water. Jacuzzi is fairly big, fits plenty of people. I'm not a fan of being overheated so I'm neutral about the sauna as well.
Tons of cardio machines upstairs and it doesn't seem to over heat. 4 big screens upstairs. The machines are managed well and I rarely see one broken. Only right at New Years do I hate how crowded it is, otherwise it's full but I always find a machine.
The free weights are great downstairs and plenty of small weights for women. It's a man area but I feel pretty comfy working out here as well. Though all the big screens are on basketball . . . .
Weight machines are plentiful and well maintained. Plenty to choose from and I usually don't have to wait too long.
Happy. Healthy. -

For a SPORT, it's not that great. Not as great as new(er) gyms, that's for sure. At least now there is a super sport down the street, but then again, I don't have that kinda membership =P
4 Elipticals and one that is broken. Mmmm... not good for me because I love the eliptical! It's easy on the knees :)
Lots of treadmills and weight machines.
I did like how they greeted me by name :) -
Review from reyz a.
I've been a member of 24 Hour Fitness when this particular location was called Jim Plunket's 24 Hour Nautilus. OK, I won't mention the date, but VHS and Beta were trying to grab market share.
I do like this particular one because it has evolved. I do go to many other 24 Hour Fitness, because my membership allows me to do so.
The free-weight area is roomy enough, I've seen other clubs with confined spaces.
The Nautilus area, standard. However, I see new machines in this club pop up.
Treadmill and stair-climbing equipment, standard. There's less waiting in this club than say the other west San Jose clubs per same given time of the day.
There's an open area for aerobics.
This place does have racquetball courts, which many other clubs do not.
When you go behind the counter, and upstairs, you have more machines including cycling machines that are newer varieties.
The pool area is standard. Over Christmas, there was lack of hot water then lack of water, so it gave me some grief. The Jacuzzi area is being cleaned up now.
There's no steam room here, but there's a dry sauna which I really like. Unlike other clubs, this club does enforce sauna etiquette -- i.e. swimming attire, no street clothes and no shoes in the saunas. It is bigger than other clubs, cleaner than other clubs with benches that are newer than most other clubs.
The one bad thing could be parking. It's in an older strip mall across from a high school, and beside a few restaurants. You will feel like a sushi boat going around in circles when looking for parking. All the better because you'll workout harder to vent out those frustrations. -

The gym is fairly small, so the airflow isn't the greatest... especially on the 2nd floor where most of the cardio machines are located. There are not that many ellipticals, treadmills, and bikes, so when you go at a busy time, you end up waiting for the next available one. Thus, I end up going to the gym at odd hours of the day.
I do have to say that the front staff is fairly welcoming and helpful, and their pool is nice. -

It's not the newest facility but I like that they are pretty sufficient on the weights and those types of machines. I went to the Super Sport in Palo Alto and I felt that this sport had better options in that space.
They have a higher than average staff of the "elite" trainers, if you are into that sort of thing. You do have to watch out for the peak periods, usually after work on weekdays because it gets very crowded up in here. -

I tried this gym since it's close to my other classes that I am taking, and I agree with the other reviews of the "SMELL" and lack of clean air in the facility.
They definitely need to look into upgrading the ventilation system so that the place doesn't smell.
I'll stick to the SJSS or the Mountain View SS until the new SS in Sunnyvale opens. -

1) DEODORANT needs to be passed out at the front desk. Not sure what's up with people but - SHOWER & DEODORANT please. WTF? Disgusting.
2) The staff is comprised of idiots recruited from fastfood restaurants that are trained to make sure that they treat guests like they would in prison.
3) The gym is old & small but has new machines.
4) The ventilation system is non-existent. Stuffy and moldy smell everywhere.
Been there a few times and decided that Mountain View is a less stinkier option. -

Disclaimer: I have the 2-year membership bought from Costco, and I only use the membership to swim at 24 Hour Fitness SPORT facilities. My narrow experience at SPORT facilities around the bay area are the basis of my review and stars.
Not a bad place to swim. They have 4 tiny, single person lanes; good if you can get a lane, because then there won't be any lane buddies you have to do round robin with. I went here after dinner, so not much of a crowd. What I really find great is the fact that the hot tub is hidden behind these giant equipment chests, preventing those people from staring at the swimmers. -

So, I've been on a mission to evaluate as many 24 hour locations from SF to Morgan Hill and have nearly been to all, except in Morgan Hill, which is next. This location is a disaster. First, no music. Second, all the machines are packed too close to each other, I mean for gods sake man, I don't want billy bob's ass in my face while I'm using the crunch machine. Third, they have the WORST benches. For those of you that are big benchers, they have adjustable pins, its hard to get the right setting. Fourth, all the weights are scattered around the gym. Fifth, there aren't enough 10 lb plates, I had to fight guys off for 2 of them. In conclusion, avoid this place like the plague, it just sucks!!!
