Decent gym. It's a good size, they have a pool and hot tub (though I never used them). Sometimes there's a funky smell in the weight room (actually, I think it's always there...). This gym isn't as clean as it could be, but it's okay.

I've worked out at most 24 Hour Fitness centers in the Silicon Valley and this one is by far the best! Its bigger, cleaner, friendlier and I never have to hunt for a workout unit usually. I love how they have so many activities like a basketball court, pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and aerobics room. The classes are great too! The locker room is also a lot more spacious then the other ones I have been to. I can't make one complaint about this gym....I feel lucky that its located so close to home for me!

5 stars! This place gets 4 stars for the fitness part (read most of the 4 star rating under this post they are very acurate).... Where *THIS* 24 goes above and beyond is the great service I got when signing up with Josh.

If you're interested in signing up at 24, talk to JOSH (Tucker, I think). This guy single handedly threw down the best deal I could possibly imagine.

A couple tricks to remember:
1. Signup with multiple people: the more people you have to go in on a gym membership the more likely you are to get amazing deals.
2. Look for multiple year (pay up front) deals: They are not always available, so you might have to be patient until those deals come up.
3. And refer a friend: they get a benefit for getting you to sign up... either 1 month free membership or $25 dollars towards the gift shop.

For posting *this* Yelp review, if your signing up (and don't have anyone to refer) give them MY name:

I have been going to this gym for over three years now and have no real serious complaints. The gym is pretty big with a lot of equipment. They have a junior Olympic size pool and a full court basketball court. The equipment is not run down and they try to keep the gym up to date. They recently added new LCD TV which is a nice touch.

The members at the gym are mostly nice and courteous. Workers are friendly and polite. You get to really know the regulars here and it become a very pleasant place to work out.

Pricing is very fair here. They have the 3 year prepay, 4 day a week monthly, and the all club everyday monthly. I have not booked any time with a trainer here, but my friend has and said he had a good experience.

My only complain is the Men's locker room can get a little dirty. I don't blame them because there is so much daily traffic in there. Also it can get extremely crowded during peak hours. I try to role in at 8:45pm ad the crowd dies down a lot. I love the fact it is open 24 hours and I can get in a work out at midnight.

Overall, I think it is a great place to workout. I have some friends who are critical of certain things about the place but I disagree.

This is my favorite 24hr fitness due to location in the South Bay. They have an indoor basketball court (more spacious than the cramped court at 24hr fitness on Camden), there is a lot of space in bewtween all the nautilus machines and free wights, and the fans and A/C are always keeping the air cycled. Also, the precor and treadmills are a good distance from the TVs so its not up in your face like the machines at the MoorePark 24hr fitness.

Update 2/19/08:
This gym is certainly A LOT cleaner than many of the other branches.  I still don't like waiting to use equipment in the morning, but would prefer it over the Parkmoor branch many times over if I lived closer.  The pool is overly chemically, but the sauna and steam room are a great feature to have next to the water.  Women's locker room is WAY more updated, spacious, and organized (so I can't complain).

Original review:
I just went to my very first yoga class today from 9-10 a.m. with Traci and it kicked my ass...literally went home feeling drugged, but not in a good way.  For first time students like myself, there was no introduction, no explanation, and no real sense of teaching the moves.  I assume this class was for people who do yoga on a regular basis, because there were about 60 people crammed into the space, and there were some elderly people there doing all the moves!  Traci said they had no control over light and thermostat, and I was actually cold for the first 40 minutes, despite moving my body into positions I don't really find comfortable.  I had only been to this gym in the afternoons around 3 p.m. and I don't know if it's the new year workout craze thing or what, but the place was PACKED!   There was not a single treadmill, elliptical machine, or stair climber free at 10 a.m. either!

This 24 hour is one of my favorites!!  It has a great variety of classes (I highly reccomend salsa, kickboxing, and dancer's workout!!), it has good air flow (doesn't ever get too stuffy), and great options for changing up your workout!

I like this gym, I prefer to actually sweat then just go to some spa type place. The classes are fun, my favorite is kickboxing. It's spacious and the music they play usually pumps me up. They also have a basketball court, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, and kids rooms.

Decent gym as far as 24-hour fitness facilities in the area go. It is airy and roomy, but still way too hot for a gym (but nothing compared to the Hillsdale gym).

There are a lot of machines and they are pretty spread out, so you don't feel claustrophobic. The pool and basketball court look pretty small, but I don't use those.

The classes, for the most part, and pretty good. The room itself is one of the better rooms, being big, well-lit, and having high ceilings.

But the personal trainers there are TERRIBLE. Don't waste your time, even with the free sessions. I guess that is to be expected with such a cheap gym.

Apparently this location is one of the better ones because it is somewhat new.

I don't know why people don't like to wipe their own sweat off the machines; it's disgusting.  It can get really busy during peak hours and that's most of the time.  I had to wait for a treadmill for 15 minutes and keep in mind this gym is pretty big; with a basket ball court and a 3 lane swimming pool.  I will only go from 11 A.M. - 12 P.M.!  Most of the employees are really nice, but there is a high turnover rate; so I always see different faces.

I go here because it's inexspensive and is walking distance from my house.  Not only is the membership cheap, the decor looks cheap too.  The walls are painted peach, purple, and teal, but they covered it up with posters so it looks way better.  The gym is pretty clean, but there are sooo many members there (since it's so cheap), that the machines got rundown quickly.  This place is packed most of the day except late morning when I go.  It also isn't crowded at 2AM, but who the heck goes to the gym at 2 in the morning?!  I've only attended they yoga classes and they're not good.  I wish the instructors would focus more on stretching instead of strength and stamina with the poses.  For example, some even sneak in crunches and stuff.  Uhhh, I don't think that's real yoga.  Overall, this is a pretty good gym for the price.

*****UPDATE*****

There are now flat screen TVs!  Makes the gym look nicer and I can see what's on TV even when I'm in the back of the gym.  Oh yeah, Melanie is THE nicest employee at 24 Hour Fitness.  I see her weekday mornings.  There was also a really nice Filipino guy with lots of curly hair, but I don't see him anymore.

Is Pool/Spa water supposed to be yellow?  Just wanna make sure cuz i didn't think so, but apparently the staff at this 24 hour fitness (or maybe members with weak bladders) seem to think so.  I'm not going to write about my entire experience here, just give a quick rundown of the end.  After my workout, showered and went to the pool.  I guess I'm the only one that reads the signs telling you to shower b4 getting in the water...maybe they should write in a few different languages for the rest of the members to understand this.  After the Pool was the sauna and steamroom.  I knew I was rolling the dice because more than 50% of the time i've gone in here, I ended up with a souvenire in the form of a skin infection.  Probably because a lot of the members go into these two rooms with their workout gear on (including shoes).  My back's been hurting, so I decided to hit the hottub, but the water was the color of the Yellow Gatorade!!  Like the other idiots in there, I didn't think anything of it and went in anyway, but came to my senses after a minute or two and hit the showers.  As I was getting dressed, I noticed a guy with AT LEAST 8 open sores on his back getting ready to go into the pool area.  WTF!!!???  Membership is almost expired, maybe I should switch it up to Club One.

This gym is about as average as a 24 hour fitness center can get. They have a ton of freeweights and relatively modern weight machines to use, so I hardly ever feel that I can't get my lifting quota in for the day. Also, they have probably close to 80 cardio machines, and I've never seen one set completely occupied at one time. Also, this one has a small 25 meter pool, and basketball court to go with the facility. I think they could have designed their (mens) locker room better as it's rather open. Somehow, walking into seeing some fat, naked dude changing is not an image I want before working out. Also, if you're a regular, you've probably noticed the funky smell that seems to float between the weight machine room and free weights. I'm not sure I want to know what that is. Oh yeah, and it wouldn't be a 24 hour without the crappy techno pop blasting in the background. Just bring your Ipod and you'll be fine.
