This gym is not great by any stretch, but could be alot worse.  The pros are there is a bball court (but its mini), there is a lap pool (but it too is mini) and there tend to be limited wait times.

The cons, the bball court is tiny, the lap pool is small, and the locker room is not the cleanest, so I avoid at all costs.

All in all, gets the job done, and thats about it.

Out of all the 24 hour fitness gyms I've been to, this one is the better one.

It doesn't smell as bad as the other ones, the chances of getting yourself on one of those newer and cooler machines is a lot greater, and there's enough walkway space to avoid collision with other smelly and sweaty workout crazies.

I hate waiting for a machine to open up because a) I feel like an idiot because I feel like I'm waiting for a ride at Disneyland; b) It's a complete waste of time; c) You can only stand the smell of other people's sweat and mysterious "aromas" for so long; and d) It just sucks. But there haven't really been times when I've needed to wait when I go to this gym, and there's usually other machines open for me to use.

The only thing that I never like about 24hour fitness is the stalker-like sales reps that they have there. As long as you put your foot down and say that you don't have the $ to upgrade or the friends to refer, then you're good to go. Tell them that you're a complete loner and that you resort to working out to numb the pain of loneliness so that they won't harass you for any sales leads!

I once saw a used pad sitting on one of the benches in the locker room. Not really the fault of the facilities, but the people there can be kinda gross.

I swim in the murky waters all the time. Goggles are your friend. The creepy old men there that don't stop talking to me have convinced me to stop swimming and using the jacuzzi, unless my boyfriend is there. Once again, gross creepy people.

I usually don't have much trouble using the treadmill or cycle, since I go pretty late at night (if I do choose to come here.) Plus all the machines come with this gizmo that you stick your headphones into to listen to any of the tvs. (Looks somewhat like a remote control.)

Lots of high school/college age guys here. Heard every pick up line possible. Geez people. It's a gym, not a club.

Never really had trouble getting my 5/10 pound weights.

They have a stubby basketball court that serves its purpose, but can make you slightly claustrophobic and it's not open 24 hours.

Stars for open machines and weights (when I go at least), for being my home gym (I feel a strange loyalty to it) and for Andre!! He is one of the nicest people at the front desk (if he's there.) I went to another gym for a few months and when I came back, he still remembered my name and details about my boyfriend! Is he still there? Andre!!!

This gym is pretty good, I have been going for about 4 years now.....

Here is what is up with this gym:

It has tons of new equiptment but the problem is that a lot of them don't work....not sure what is up with that....

There are time periods when you get the younger and older crowd. Mornings are for the older folks, and around 4-7 in the afternoon is the younger crowd, go figure.

It gets PACKED at this gym, ALWAYS busy, which is a good thing I guess but it sucks when you have to wait in line for a machine to open up. Ive had to wait for up to 10 minutes for a treadmill.

As I am sure with every other gym in America, you get a lot of old guys staring. Be aware of a guy who wears sunglasses at this gym, because it is 100% sure that he is staring at a young girl. Could you be a little MORE obvious????!

Anyways, Spencer is AWESOME at this gym so if you are trying to sign up, talk with him because he will always get you a hooked up deal.

I've been going here for the better part of a year now, and all I can say is that I must really be cheap.  I could have signed up for the comparatively luxurious Club One in Santana Row, but being the cheapskate that I am, decided that 24 offered more for the price.

And yes, I did get more.

More chlorine for the buck in the pool (the water in the pool is more white than blue)

More white foam in the hot tub

More black scum in the showers and restroom

More broken lockers

More weights out of place

Why ask for more?

But you know, I won't blame 24 Hr management for this.  I will instead blame the one organization that has absolutely nothing to do with 24 Hr Fitness and yet has everything to do with why I'm going to 24 Hr Fitness.  Yes...you guessed it....

GOOGLE!

HUH?  Google?  What the hell does Google have to do with this?

Well, I'll tell you.

I'm bitter and angry that I wasn't employee #10 at Google so that I could blithely pay $20,000 for a home gym in my $10,000,000 house.

I blame all the lucky Google employees who laugh merrily on their way to the on-site health club with trainers available.....and day care too......BLAH, something that a mere peon like me, slaving away at a "regular" job can't do.

I blame all the deliriously happy and well rested Google employees bouncing their heads to the beat of music playing on their permanently affixed iPods as they ride away on their WiFi equipped, completely free and punctual private buses, all wondering aloud "May be I should work on my abs today with Skippy the Google Trainer."  I see these people, and I want to ram my car broadsides into the bus.

And of course, all you Google private chefs out there, slaving away on gourmet meals, whoring out for free your delectable dishes for the lunch hoards that gobble up the completely organic, free-range chicken and grass fed, humanely euthanized, farm fresh meat.....yes you.  Your hands are dirty because you don't do charity work in what constitutes my workplace cafeteria (Hey, I'm willing to pay damn it!)

The rest of us have to pay for our fitness club, and no, some of us weren't smart enough to buy your stock when it was around $90.  So no Club One for Mr. James "Schadenfreude" K.

Am I bitter...mais oui, and I'm proud of it.

Enjoy it while it lasts Googlians (or Googlites).  If for whatever reason, Google decides to cut Skippy, and you find your forlorn selves slaving away at a ghetto gym like mine, don't worry......CAUSE I GOT DIBS ON THE AB MACHINE!

2 stars because, well, it's open 24 Hrs.

I've been going to this gym for a couple years now, and for the most part I'm satisfied.  The staff gets to know you and uses your name everytime they check you in, which I think is a nice touch.  I highly recommend going at off hours though.  I used to go around 5:30am and it was a perfect time.  I haven't been able to get up that early in awhile though, and if you get to the gym anywhere from 8-11am-ish.... You'll have to wait for a treadmill or an elliptical machine.  Also, I've tried going at night a few times before, and have vowed never to go again because it's worse than mornings.  BUT that's not really the fault of the gym, just the gym's popularity I guess.  Overall, it's a gym with a lot to offer, you just have to choose the right times to go..

HOWEVER... Some things to warn you about:

Never take a yoga class with a teacher named either Leigh or Lee.  I went there a few weeks ago to try the class with a friend.  We're both pretty new to yoga, so we chose spots in the back of the class so as not to distract any experienced people.  In the yoga classes that I HAVE taken at other gyms, the teachers have always asked at the beginning of class if there was anyone new, and then the teacher proceeded to help any new people throughout the class.  This teacher did not do this.  And then, when the class started, she had us doing really obscure poses that my friend and I had never seen, done, or heard of.  So my friend and I were whispering to each other, trying to figure out how the hell the teacher wanted us to contort our bodies, when the teachers asks us to stop talking... Uh, okay, gee thanks for understanding.  And then her microphone was malfunctioning, and she told the class she'd be right back and her exact words: "I don't get paid enough to lose my voice."  We walked out of the class right after that and went straight to the front desk to complain.  This was a yoga class at a 24 Hour Fitness gym!! Not some advanced yoga studio.  There was no reason for that teacher to be so rude.

Another thing to warn people about, or at least women.  A lot of older women who take the swimming classes are very proud of their elderly bodies, and tend to use their towels very little.  By this, I mean they will plant their nude wrinkly bottoms onto those benches, with nothing between the bench and themselves.  Again, this is not the gym's fault at all, but if you're going to sit on any benches.... Well, maybe think twice!!

My only other complaint is that there are very limited areas to stretch, unless you are there when there's not a class going on, then you can use that room.

BUT, overall, this gym meets expectations of any gym I've been to before...

I love new 24 Hour Fitnesses! My girlfriend a while back used to work around here, and this is where we first signed up for our membership. It was still the old 24 hour gym which was where the Home Depot is now (that place was a dump)

A lot of machines. Steam room. Sauna Room. Pool. Basketball area. Group Exercise Room.

I like newer gyms! The locker rooms aren't as stinky!

Ta Da? How about..... Ta BLAH!!! The main part of gym isn't that bad actually but the locker rooms & POOL are a different story! Who wants to swim in a pool where you can't even see the bottom? Hair and old skin floating around..... makes for a nice workout right? I've talked to many people in the pool area who agree & have already called the health department!!!!! The pool needs to be cleaned Twice a week & not just once! The Showers...Hair on the walls & floors EVERYWHERE! Make sure you wear shoes! As many people who 'work' there you would think someone could check up on the locker room every couple of hours! Ok gym.....horrible pool! Very nice staff & GREAT kids club!

This 24 Hour Fitness is conveniently located, and is right next to a Home Depot and Target.  The place is relatively new, and the equipment is one of the newer sets of equipment among the San Jose 24 Hour Fitness locations.  This location also has a basketball court and pool.  Unfortunately, they seem to have a lot of trouble keeping the chemicals in the pool and hot tub balanced.  The pool is frequently closed due to chemical imbalances, and even when it's open, the deck area isn't cleaned often.  There is visible mildew in the shower area.  This location would be my favorite of the San Jose 24 Hour Fitness locations, but the shower and pool area is not clean enough.

Ta Da!  Now we come to my favorite 24 Hour Fitness location.  This has it all, and I think this is why it's so busy.  It's located in a strip mall with target, tjmaxx, and home depot among other things.  It's not as bright and airy as the parkmoor location, but for some reason it works.  In addition to having a pool, and a group class room, this one has a...drum roll...please...
A BASKETBALL COURT.  Okay, so I am no Magic Johnson, but it's nice to have the option to get my cardio on and throw the ol' bal around.
The changing room is decent sized and fairly clean.  If this one was closer to my house, I would go every day...but it's not.   Of course it gets super busy because this location is super cool...
I highly recommend this joint because of the newer machines, the location, and the various choices within the gym.

Despite what the other reviews say... I personally like this location.  Hillsdale is considerably nice and clean for 24.  Furthermore, the staff is pretty friendly, unlike the staff at the Cottle location!  When you come in they greet you and remember your name and if they don't they will take the time to look at your card and personally address you - good customer service!  Of course, during the prime hours it gets busy but that is understandable!

Of course, I have heard the bashing comments about their trainers.  I can't say much about all their trainers.  However, I can say that my trainer was awesome!  WHooped my ass into shape in no time!  I think I am in the best shape of my life!  oh yeah!!!!

Of the 24 Hour Fitness locations that I have been to (Mtn. View, Sunnyvale-Arques, Sunnyvale-Fremont, and Moorpark) this has to be one of the nicer ones in the area.

The equipment is fairly new, and in pretty good repair.  I go pretty early in the morning, and I actually see the cleaning crew cleaning up the machinery and in the locker rooms.  Also, the 'smell' of a gym really hasn't set in for the day.  But, c'mon, it's a gym!  It ain't gonna smell like a flower shop!

I haven't used the swimming pool or jacuzzi, so I really can't speak to how clean those are.

But, to the point of my review:  the people watching!  Oh, the gym is another great place to people watch!  Often in the morning, I see this nice looking middle-aged woman that, I SWEAR TO GOD, is doing a dance routine on the stair climbing machine--you know the one that actually looks like a group of stairs?  One minute she'll be doing the cha cha on each stair, then she'll be doing some ballet.  AND she's super hard core.  I'll get there at 6/6:15, and leave by 7/7:10, and she's still at it.  I've wanted to clap a few times, too.

=====================
UPDATE 8/9
=====================
I've noticed lately that, in general, 24 Hour Fitness has cleaned up their act, literally.  When I go in the morning, there's a guy that's there with a rag and wiping down the machines.  The locker rooms have been clean, too.  Props to the 24 hour folks, cause their cleaning crew is doing a kick ass job!

=====================
UPDATE 12/10
=====================
Note to self:  they clean out the hot tub, swimming pool, and steam room on Tuesdays ...

Here's what I wrote to the 24-Hour Fitness "submit your comments/feedback" portion of their website. I would suggest that if any of us want this location to change, we need to submit more comments directly to the company:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have placed a few complaints with the staff at the club and the feedback from them is absolutely what is at the heart of what is the problem with 24-Hour Fitness.

The staff there are mostly well-intentioned sweet kids. However, they have absolutely NO idea how to accommodate requests from the customers of 24 Hour Fitness and I believe the management gives them no tools to do so. Whenever I've complained about the cleanliness or the temperature of the club, I get a scared look and a whisper under their breath to go on the website to complain. Obviously, these poor things have the perception they can do nothing to improve their own work environment because they have to work in this everyday as well! This is a culture issue with your company and, one that can ultimately be its demise because there is other competition out there. A company cannot build customer loyalty this way.

Here's what the nitty gritty of my complaints are:

1. The whole gym is NOT cleaned often enough. The bathrooms are frightening (you can smell as much). Additionally, 24 Hr is wasting money on the cleaning company employed. The workers wander around, chit-chat with each other, and move like they have no purpose. They use dirty cloths to clean equipment WHEN I see them. I come to the club right now 3-5 days per week. I may see a cleaning person once a week if that. This gym is jam packed with people. Hand prints all over the front door and debris on the floor. There should be 1-2 people cleaning CONSTANTLY.

2. I've requested the ventilation be fixed or set correctly several times. Even when not at capacity, the place is stuffy. There should be an intake and fan running AT ALL TIMES. Air filters should be changed bi-monthly. And, a constant temperature should be monitored hourly. 2 weeks ago, I was in on a Saturday afternoon, and literally the CEILING WAS DRIPPING from condensation from the humidity!! Totally unacceptable. I pointed it out to a staff member and he said that others have complained, and honestly (same response I've gotten before) "you need to go online and log a complaint and it will get fixed."

Hey guys...this is NO smart way to run a company.

3. In the classroom area, all free-weights are locked down when classes are not in session. And, the free weights in the other weight area - there is ONLY 1 SET of 8 lb. dumbbells and 2 sets of 5 lb. - What's a girl to do? Well, I asked and guess what I was told? "You can buy your own and bring them in". Why would I need 24 Hour Fitness if I did that? The reason the weights are locked down I guess is that some got stolen once. Wouldn't that be the cost of doing business in a place such as 24 Hour Fitness? Isn't that why we all pay monthly?

4. I just called the 800# to obtain my member number for this complaint and was given the number over the phone without one question from the rep. verifying my identity. (That's extremely NOT good).

I really like the 24 Hour Fitness concepts. I watch Biggest Loser and think the company's participation on that show contributes to the awareness so needed in the US about weight control and fitness. The state of this club and the message 24 Hour sends via its marketing does not match up.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
UPDATE: 3-2-07

I've decided to give a star up to Hillsdale 24 Hr.  I did receive a response from the Operations Mgr. by email and it seems as though there is a plan of action in place. He says a new cleaning service began on 3-1-07. So, let's see if it improves.

As for the humidity in the air, I got shut down on that request. The response was the corporate offices control the HVAC there?? And, when I pressed for a contact in the HVAC control department at "corporate", I was told no, sorry - no one to contact there. Hmmm. Well, I guess that would make sense? So, no more than 2 stars. I guess I'm going to have to avoid busy hours in order to enjoy the gym that I pay nearly $500 p/yr. to be a member.

What really does it for me, it the kids club.  The employees of this Kid's Club are GREAT!!!!  It was the 1st place that I could comfortably leave my son.  He LOVES it there.  Especially Courtney and Alex.  They usually work weekday mornings.  They seem to love all the kids, and it shows, because all of the kids love them.  Everyone else in the daycare has  been great as well.  But I only know the names of Courtney and Alex, because my son talks about them.

You can trust these people with your children!!!!!!!!

I've been to the one in mtn view, parkmoor, and this one. Can someone tell me if it's just me or am I blind...did they not have any EZ bars?? I might have seen ONE...that's IT! The place seemed crammed. I don't know if they had a lower level, I didn't investigate but I'm guessing they do b/c it's listed that they have a pool and stuff here. Either way, I didn't like it. I went at 10pm and there's plenty of machines and/or freeweights available to use.

This location is pretty decent. There are many cardio machine to choose from (something like 6 rows of them), although some are a lot newer than others. Most people here adhere to the "20 min" rule during peak hours, but after that you can be on them as long as you want with nobody checking on you.

I recently joined and got some training sessions offered as part of my membership. I had a great experience with that and will be looking to purchase more training sessions in the next year. The sessions were always at 6pm, and I learned that if I want a stress-free, no waiting workout, I have to go after 8:30pm.  I'll even wait until 9-10pm to go, because the parking lot is still jam packed up until then. This is one of the only locations I know that is actually open 24 hours.

There are plenty of free weights here. Again, if you go at non-peak times, you can get your pick of them. My only complaint is that the woman's locker room is nasty, as mentioned previously. It doesn't seem like anybody cleans it or even picks up in there. There are always newspapers, paper towels, and other garbage strewn about the benches and floor. I haven't used the showers, but shudder at what they might look like. I just go in there to drop off stuff in a locker.

The temperature in there must have gotten better from past reviews, because it doesn't seem to be stuffy in there at all. There is top 40 R&B playing on the overhead, as well as about 3 different tv shows going on, which you can tap into using your headsets on the cardio machines.

The salespeople were very friendly to me and not pushy at all. When I was just shopping for clubs a month ago, I told them that a family member had been paying $24/m from some promotion they had years ago, and they were able to match that for me, with no contract. I expected to have to struggle with them, but there was none at all. I did pay $49 for 6 half-hour beginner training sessions however.

Overall, a good club if you like to go at off-peak hours.

24 Hour Fitness, as a chain, is not very good, but this is one of the better ones.  It's crowded in the evenings, particularly on the cardio equipment.

It is cleaner than others, but the jacuzzi and pool are often cloudy.  Members are encouraged to bring a towel to wipe down equipment, but the center doesn't have sani-wipes or towels and spray around to get the equipment really clean.

It's noisy, like most 24 Hour Fitness centers.

There is plenty of weight equipment, a basketball gym, and a studio.  Some of the cardio equipment has a connection to listen to the television sets, which are against the walls.

This one is in a strip mall near Target and TJ MAXX.  As a result parking can be difficult, particularly on weekends.

Better than other 24hrs (eg Mountain View) but still mediocre. I would give this 4 stars but one thing really annoys me. During peak hours (7-8pm) you will often hear :

"There is a 20 minute limit on all cardio machines"

I mean WTF ? Every time I hear this I just want to go punch through a wall or something. Stop signing people up you greedy #@Q!s

Filthy filthy filthy. The changing room at this 24 hour fitness is always a mess: the urinal and potty areas are disgusting and the showers are little more than holes in the wall.

As for equipment, I guess they are acceptable. They always make a show of maintenance - some guy is always fixing something or other - though why he doesn't do it off peak hours is anyone's guess.

Some of the equipment need recalibration though, the resistance and such feel a little off.

I would give this a 3 stars, but they don't seem to have any pride in the gym - the dirty changing rooms, poorly maintained sauna are prime examples. Medium to bad no frills gym.

this is probably one of the better 24 hour fitness gyms in the san jose south bay area.  it is actually open 24 hours!!  there are tons of cute guys here!!  this 24 has tons of cardio equipment, a huge free weight area, separate cycle room, pool, spa, basketball court and group x room!!  they have the new elliptical machines which are nice.. it kind of stinks though but only because people work out so hard and sweat up a storm!  i would come here more often but it's farther for me to drive to.. the staff here aren't very friendly.  actually, they are kind of rude!  but this gym has more amenities than other 24s i have been to which is the only reason why i would come back..

For a 24, I have to give this place 4 stars.  There are a ton of cardio machines here, numerous aerobics classes, and a wide range of weight equipment.  I go to the gym to stink up a storm on an open ellip or treadmill, lift a couple of pounds and go home.  This 24 gets the job done...

Note I usually go here during the weekends, so I have no idea if the cardio machines are available during those weekday rush hours.

My 24 of choice when back in the South Bay, as the equipment is far newer than the Saratoga location, and there is a good selection of machines.  The room seems a bit stuffy, even though there are high ceilings here, but maybe I'm not used to the South Bay weather anymore.  This place is hardly crowded compared to gyms in SF.

In terms of the South San Jose 24 Hour Fitness gyms this one gets a slight nod over the Santa Teresa one. The layout of the gym is fairly well organized with all the cardio machines off to one side, the free weights on the other, and the weight machines towards the back. The locker rooms are also a little bit cleaner than the ST gym. The floor will get crowded during peak hours in the evening (M-Th), but if you're not fixed on specific machines you can still get a great workout in . Also since it advertises itself being a 24 Hour Sport, this one has a pool and basketball court. I've never used the 3 lane, 25M pool, but it tends to be fairly crowded with people that can barely stay afloat so if you're a competitive swimmer I'd consider els3where.

Now can anybody explain to me why every 24 Hour Fitness has to blast crappy techno pop? I mean seriously, does or can anyone get an endorphin rush to this garbage? Just be sure to bring an Ipod or Mp3 player to drown out the drivel.

24 hour fitness is an "ok" chain. They have some super nice clubs but most are just between ok and slightly disturbing. The one on cox in saratoga is pretty small and is only open till 12. Hence why i sometimes come here.

ehh its nice thats its open 24 hours but the place isnt that clean. It has that ew smell when you first walk in. A smell of distint sweat... Way too much sweat. jeez put some fans on or something. Coming from a much higher club of Courtside in los gatos. This place doesnt make me want to get up and rush in.

No offense but the pool and spas are also disturbing. Usually filled with old men staring at you as you waltz by . The water doesnt look to fabulus either.

As someone else mentioned, during peak hours their is a 20 minute limit... What the hell. 20 minutes. AT least raise it to 30 so that you can keep your heart rate up for long enough for fat burn!!

Oh yes and last but not least. my latest beef with this club. So my boyfriend gets a year pass to 24.. he goes in to get it activated and they pretty much ignore him for an hour and push him along. He waits gives the guy the pass and they proceed to bullshit him telling him their computers are down. They then pressure him with questions asking him where he got the pass and how he got it . As if he stole it or made it from some copy machine. It obviously is authentic It has engraved Numbers on it. you cant make them up. So they tell him to call corporate headquaters...so he does and they assure him the pass is authentic and that  he can activate at this club. So 24 lets him work out that day and tells him to come back tommorow. He comes back and they say im sorry sir you cant activate this here. We know you bough this off ebay . We know sir. You can get your money back through ebay. This isnt a fake pass but we know you bought it off ebay and cant accept it!  What ?!! i mean wow. Accuse someone of purchasing a legit pass off ebay? Its legitimate so what do you care. Even though he didnt buy it off ebay. Its ridiculous. They took poor customer service to a new level. so long story short  they told him to leave and that he could maybe get it activated at a diff club. and then the guy gave this cruella deville laugh like yea right. So he left and got it activated somewhere else. WITH NO PROBLEMS.Complete jerkoffs.

This is a large 24 hour fitness with a pool, basketball court and a store that sells clothes, etc.  It has a high ceiling, but it's always stuffy in there.  And sometimes, it gets uncomfortably hot too.  Although there is a large section with free weights, they only have a few lay down benches.  I've never been able to use the free weights there because every time I've gone those benches were taken (not even taken but "saved" by someone's cell phone and towel).

Once I was stretching and dying of heat in the room where they hold classes.  I see the big fans in there and they were OFF.  I asked if they can turn them on.  They said NO!!!  "Uh..  It's not that hot in here."  WHAT!?!?!?   Is my dad running this gym?  Are they trying to save electricity?  This might be true because the lights are always dimmed really low.  I think someone else said it was creepy.  It IS creepy.  I can't really comment on the cleanliness of the workout areas because the dimmed lights make everything look dingy.

I'd be willing to forgive all that if it wasn't so crowded.   It's alright in the middle of the afternoon, but after 4:30, you'll see every treadmill taken.  During the peak hours, they limit usage to 20 minutes, which is good because you can actually get on a machine, but it's bad if you, like me, want to do more than 20 minutes.  The idea is you do 20 minutes, wait for a new machine to open up, do another 20, etc.  Basically, there is no way to sustain an aerobic state for more than 20 minutes at a time.

The saunas and the hot tub are usually packed.  I've been in the sauna when all the sitting surfaces were taken and people were actually standing.  The saunas and the pool area are passably clean but sometimes it just reeks.  This is the closest 24 hour fitness to my house and if I can go during their slow times (middle of the afternoon), I'll work out there for the sake of convenience.  Otherwise I'll drive a little further for the Saratoga location.

Ok.. ok.. I know all I do is go to different 24 hour fitnesses.  But like I said before.. I liked Arques before without knowing what was out there.  It seems that this club has newer equipment and has 5 (FIVE!) more water fountains than Arques.. there are also friendlier meatheads.

My only minus with this 24 hour is that they play this CD that has the hits of today but with a really fast beat.. so you'll hear a song that you hear 20 times a day on the radio.. but sped up with a house beat.... like a bad nightclub with a really shitty DJ.

Three years ago I used to go to a YMCA (in Santa Teresa), and that's the only other gym experience, so the rating is compared to that.

This location has a basketball court and a three-lane 25-meter swimming pool on top of the regular resistance-/cardo- stations.  I haven't tried them yet.  They also have a room for classes.  Not bad, I guess.

I usually go in the morning and there seem to be enough equipments to go around.  The treadmills can get full, but usually there are one or two open.

ive been to other 24's (milpitas and moorpark) and i like this location the best. the staff is ALWAYS friendly: they always greet you as you walk through the door and call you by first name... they also ALWAYS say goodbye and/or "have a nice day" as you walk out.  if you go there regularly, the staff remembers your face and always strikes up conversations with you. VERy comforting.

they have TONS of fairly new and clean cardio and lifting equipment.  what i like MOST about this 24 location is their variety of classes offered.  unlike the other locations, this 24 has compiled a bunch of different group class activities that would satisfy anyone's busy/nonbusy schedule.

A good deal as you can get a relatively cheap membership
(negotiate hard) that allows you access to many locations
in the valley; good selection of free weights & machines;
I have a renewable membership for life fixed @$99/yr; sweet.

OoOoo in my opinion
THIS IS THE BEST SOUTHBAY 24 fitness by far [compared to santa tresea and moorpark]

I love this gym and I am a regular here this place doesn't actually smell like ass and is well air conditioned
yeah the music isnt that great but like everyone else I  blast my ipod on the highest volume and it does a good job of draining the background music
Clean, staff is super friendly , people are nice/considerate, social
place is relatively clean
i look forward to my workouts!

the only drawback is if you go during peak hours you may have to wait
maybie 10-20 minutes for the machine of your choice

Straight ghetto, and the hip-hop is way too loud. They do have sectioned off bball courts and racquetball courts however.

The weights and protein shake cans are scattered all over the place, and the doughy "trainers" don't seem to give a damn, or are too busy hustling the honeys to do anything about it.
