Review from Jason P.
Fort Lauderdale, FL
Great gym, nice locker room, new equipment, clean open workout area.
One of 24s bright spots.
Just dont get caught around or in the gym alone late at night.
It has some very shifty members... -

I previously went to the 24 Hour in Sunrise, but after moving to the Pines area I switched my membership over to this one online. Sweet baby Jesus, if I had ever been in this location before I would not have even moved into the new place. It smells *so* awful in this gym, I don't even want to live down the street from it.
That being said, there's gym equipment in this gym. Some of it works, some of it doesn't. There was one occasion where I literally had to try 4 ellipticals before I found one that worked correctly. It's open 24 hours a day, as the name suggests. Parking sucks. If you're looking for the basics, you'll find them here (and possibly a dead body wedged under the floorboards), but if you have the cash to spare, consider another gym. -

Old equipment, but still a good gym. Some of the cardio machines were broken and the tv's didn't function.

This facility is amazing. Very clean and the staff is very friendly and professional. I've just moved here from Washington, D.C. once inside I met Kelly Bailey who assisted me with the highest customer service that I've ever experienced in an gymnasium. He's a true gentleman n highly recommend this facility because of him A+++

WHY ARE SO MANY OF THE CARDIO MACHINES BROKEN?
I swear! On some of them, the quickstart button doesn't work, on others, the incline doesn't go up, or it doesn't go down, or one of the speed or resistance buttons doesn't work. It's really frustrating to get a few minutes into a workout, and suddenly discover you can't decrease the speed. You have to stop the machine, find another, and try again. VERY frustrating.
They need to replace the Pec/Rear Delt machine.
I'm also surprised how many people are there in the middle of the day (between 11a-3pm), and therefore how often I have to wait for weight & resistance training equipment.
I will give them props though - the place is pretty damn clean and the staff and trainers are remarkably nice! And of course, they are open 24hrs a day. -

Um. this location is very much run down. It's small and always crowded. There are limited amout of classes and times. I will only return here if I have to, otherwise I will be at the other locations.

The biggest selling point that puts 24 Hour Fitness above all other gyms is the fact that its always open. It is much easier to work out everyday and stick to a plan if you can go to the gym ANY time you want. Its also great for insomniacs who need to burn some energy at 1am.
For the price, ($29/month) you get quite a bit. In addition to the weights and cardio equipment, there are many great classes, an Olympic size pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, basketball courts, racquetball courts, and a nicely stocked nutrition store. Some locations also have smoothie bars.
Peak hours (5pm-9pm) get very crowded and can be frustrating so the best time to go is either later at night or early in the morning. Classes tend to fill up quickly so you want to be early.
Technically there is no long term contract to sign when you join, but you pay a membership fee ($9-$99 or more depending on what promotions they have going on) plus the first month's payment to join so you're not going to want to quit after a month or two. You can put a hold on your membership but you have to do it for at least 3 months.
Overall, good gym, good amenities, decent staff, and reasonable pricing.
Oh yeah, they also have child care available until 9:30pm so all you parents have no excuse to be fat. -

It gets the job done...though i hope they get their act together on having a full set of working cardio equipment.
