Review from Joe R.

I started going here January 2012 and now I find myself attending 5-6 times a week. The trainers are the best that I have experienced. My favorite fitness class is boot camp. Tim does a great job helping me and others stay motivated and to push ourselves more and more each time. The other trainers do a terrific job as well. Every class is challenging. The Sunday Black Ops training is a nice addition to the schedule.

This is my home gym and one of the nicer 24 Hour Fitness locations in my opinion. I agree that this location still has it's "new" smell (maybe it's the smell of paint? who knows) and the machines don't look like they were used in the 90's. The parking lot can get full during peak hours (around 5-7 pm), but at least it's a decent sized lot and pillars are not jumping out to get you. Trust me, I've scraped my car on a pillar at another 24 Hour location. Group fitness classes are great. I personally go to Ellen's Turbo Kickboxing Class and would cry if she ever stopped teaching. Locker rooms are WAY nicer than those in HI - at least the lockers are made out of nice dark wood! This is a great place for those of all fitness levels, especially the group fitness classes. I understand how these large gyms can feel really intimidating, but I see all types of people working out with one another. Overall, I'll be going to this location as long as I'm in Omaha.

Review from Brenna P.
Okay, so it's been a couple of months since I reviewed my gym. The TV problem has gotten worse. There is now only one working TV on the entire upper floor by the treadmill area. The other one lost its picture over a month ago and it's still just hanging there, dead, except for the sound. Half of the time, the only functional TV is on some crap channel that seemingly plays reruns of Judge Judy all day long.
The gym has started to get extremely overcrowded, even during non-peak hours. It's almost as crowded now as it was after everyone decided to lose weight for their New Year's resolution. I don't really understand why. There have been many times recently when I haven't been able to get in a full workout because the machines I want to use are constantly occupied.
There has also been a decline in the equipment as well. One of the lat pull machines is completely out of order. In another machine, the weight select pin is bent, causing it to be jammed and useless. Unfortunately, given the number of 'roid rage types constantly in this area, I haven't been able to access the lone remaining machine.
I used to be able to head to the gym before work, get in a decent workout, and not have much frustration with equipment or crowding. This is no longer the case.1 Previous Review: Show all »

When I heard they were building a 24 Hour Fitness that wasn't 100 miles from my house, my wife and I were both pretty excited. I had been a member before, and had always been incredibly happy with the services they provided. Let me be clear that I am the type of person who does not want a personal trainer or any of those kinds of complications when I exercise. I want a place where I can work out and be left alone.
The problem with this particular gym is that they drastically oversold their memberships. Parking is often impossible, if it's even available. If you want to work out at any time other than 2:30 am, you will spend at least half of your time there waiting for equipment or a machine. When I brought this up to the manager, she basically indicated that they were aware of the problem and didn't care. We canceled our membership, and won't consider 24 Hour Fitness again. -

Parking: Acceptable, could be a problem if the gym was packed like migrant workers jammed into a 90' Toyota Carolla
Front Desk: $10 for a walk-in workout, not great, not bad. However, It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes like investigative skills to conclude that the front desk attendants come from some type of "putting welfare to work" stimulus program. "Not fair" you cry? Well when I paid with a 20 and the rocket scientist behind the desk had to use a calculator to determine the change. Hardly a NASA level formula.
Locker Room: average and clean
Weight Training Area: Lots of machines and racks. However, the dumbbell situation was completely unacceptable. The layout creates a Chinese fire drill type situation around that end of the gym. Why the all heavy dumbbells are 50ft from the nearest bolted down bench is about as puzzling as trying to determine if Michael Jackson's sexual preferences. This lack of planning totally ruins any decent workout.
Clientele: Interesting mix of working professionals, career bouncers/doorman, college students, and carjackers -

This 24 hour fitness is clean and still has the "new" like atmosphere as it is the newest one they've built in a while. Whenever I go there, there are enough treadmills and weights available. The classes they offer there are many and of many different kinds. Parking can be a little bit of a problem. The spaces, to me, are kind of small and if you go under the building, it's kind of dark and many of the spaces are close to pillars. Scary because I'm always afraid I'd hit it. It's at a pretty convenient location, close to a few colleges and businesses. This is actually my preferred 24 hour site to go to because it doesn't smell too much like a locker room like many of them do. Another thing that's awesome about this place is the kiddie day care area! It looks like a fun place to me and when I bring my daughter here, she doesn't cry nonstop so that they have to come find me and take her out, which ruins my workout thank you very much! So, I think at this child care center at 24, they actually CARE for your kid while you workout! This 24 is actually my preferred one to come to, mostly because it doesn't smell too much like a locker room like many of the others do.
