I went here on a trial membership that my friend got me. It was just a refreshing experience. The equipment is very taken care of and it is not messy in the gym. it is in a convenient location too. Being open 24.7 is just great for me because I never know when I will go to the gym. The place just motivates you to work out. Very refreshing. There is no rush hour even it seems because the place is so expansive.
I just wish this place was less expensive because I was not able to open up a membership after my trial. -

I like this facility.
Pros:
- Great location in Soho between Soho shopping and NYU (near the BDFM and RW)
- Great amenities
- There are always cleaning attendants around
- People who look motivated and serious to reach their fitness goals
- Cheap - I'm a bit biased - I pay significantly less for many reasons
- Cardio machines are well-maintained
- Friendly staff
- Option of digilocks or bring your own lock
- Nice lobby area
- Good/free group classes
Cons:
- Pushy sales people who try to sell overpriced training sessions
- Crowded
- Locker room and steam room are not always clean - sometimes moldy and smelly
- Lockerroom layout is a bit small - the lockers on the side offer very little room to walk in between the aisles when other people are using those lockers
- They used to have better shower gel and shampoo - they switched to some cheap stuff -

What a great gym for a great price!
I would say it is better quality than the popular mid-range gyms like NYSC. The equipment is in good shape and the amenities are maintained. The staff are wonderful and very inviting. The trainers know what they're talking about! -

Loving the fact that it's open 24/7 which totally fits my schedule. Staff is friendly and not many people during the time i go ( 6am). Abundance of towels and the place is totally clean ! They also have classes but you'll have to check out the monthly schedule to see what's going on.
Locker room are also pretty clean that come with some amenities like qtips, mouthwash etc. The only con is that the elevators are so slowww!. -
Review from Jerry F.
Manhattan, NY
The workout areas are okay but the locker room here are the terrible. I've belonged to two other gyms in the SoHo area and the locker rooms here are by far at the bottom of the list based on the cleanliness and overall size.
The showers, steam room and sink area are all disgusting. There is mold / bacteria visibly growing in the corners of every shower stall. And the steam room is a disaster - I would never ever step foot in because I don't believe it's safe. There have been times where I could smell a stench of mold coming from that area. These areas are not being cleaned adequately enough to remove or prevent mold / bacteria.
More-over shower, steam room and sink areas are not maintained at all throughout the day which causes the condition of the locker room get worse and worse as the day goes on. During the night on weekday's it's not uncommon to go into the shower or sink area and see several items of trash sitting the corner; e.g., razors, hangers, empty soap bottles, empty drink bottles, do rags, piles of dirty wet towels.
Plus the locker rooms are tiny and very uncomfortable. -

This is the only gym I go to in NYC. Why? Well, for personal reasons, because it's the nearest and most convenient 24 Hour to my house.
For other reasons? Because it's clean, the amenities are awesome, the employees are helpful and friendly (I once forgot my combination and the nice lady didn't even make me feel like a dumbass when she unlocked my locker for me). It has awesome classes--yes! I love listening to my spin class instructor pump us up while sweating to a Rihanna techno mix!--and complimentary wi-fi in the lobby.
It's clean, well-stocked, and there's TV's everywhere on the cardio floor so I can get my Daily Show in while I'm burning calories. It's sweeeeeet. -

Let me start by saying this is a really nice gym! It's got everything you need and in a great location. I really wanted to like this gym for it's convenience, but I had to cancel my membership as a matter of principle.
This gym fucked me. And not in a good "I'll call you tomorrow, here's some cab money" way either. They did it and stopped answering my calls/emails. My membership was messed up since the beginning. After renegotiating back and forth with the club manager, we finally came to an agreement. She was going to credit me back some money to even out my higher monthly rate. Weeks pass and nothing! No emails, no calls, no response, no changes! I had no choice but to cancel my membership, and that's when the fun started...
How to cancel your membership with 24 Hour Fitness
1) Call their number and wait 10-15 minutes for a customer service rep. They will always be busy but stick with it!
2) They will try to knock off $5 a month so you'll stay with them. Just tell them to use that $5 to pick you up some chocolates for fucking you so hard.
3) Their computer network will mysteriously be "down" at the moment, and they will call you back when it's up! "It's a trap!" says Admiral Ackbar. My prior research on canceling 24 Hour Fitness shows that their computers will always be down. Just tell them you know they're lying and willing to wait it out. After 3 minutes, their network will mysteriously be working again.
4) They will finally cancel your account, just make sure you get a confirmation number.
5) Tell them to go fuck themselves! And remind them where to send those chocolates.
If all this doesn't deter you, consider this one last fact: The Hollister underneath 24 Hour Fitness had the bad case of bed bugs. What do you think the chances are that the bed bugs migrated uptairs to 24 Hour Fitness? -

Alright so first of all. All the people that are complaining about the wait for machines or what not. Those people should just pay up and get their OWN personal gym in their house.
What? Towels? - THEY GOT'em
What? Deodorant? - THEY GOT IT
What? Q-tips? - PSSSSSHHH They got that too
What? Shaving Cream? - PPPPPPFF Of course
What? Razors? - Don't have to ask.
What? Bags for wet sandals/anything? - GOT THAT TOO!!
What? Lotion? - Why not?
Honestly this gym is pretty SICK in comparison to the one I used to go to in California. I've been a member of 24 hour since 2003 and been to a good amount of them in the LA area. It's right NEXT to Broadway Lafayette station which is awesome. I go right after work and it's not too bad at all. I hate to compare to other gyms but the gym I used to attend regularly in Hermosa Beach was a mad-house after work. This location is not that bad. If something's being used, then just go onto another exercise. If you're the type that can't think of another exercise to do, then maybe you need a personal trainer/personal gym anyway. I'm just sayin. Staff are very nice. And they try their hardest to keep the locker rooms as clean as they can. Towels may be stacked up in the dirty bin but it's not gonna jump out and wrap around your face so don't be afraid. -
Review from Scott B.
24 Hour Fitness in SOHO is a great gym, and possibly one of the best gyms I've visited in NYC. The gym is clean, not overcrowded, and the amenities are great--free locker service, free towel service, etc. Also, the gym has first-rate equipment, and it's definitely classy compared to some of the gyms around NYC.
As for programs and equipment, 24 Hour Fitness has Les Mills fitness classes (BodyPump, BodyFlow, CXWorx etc.), and they have a nice cardio room with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, etc. They also have an weight room!
If you are in the SOHO area of NYC, check out 24 Hour Fitness or one of their other awesome NYC locations (they also have a midtown location, one near Madison Square Park, and one in the Bronx). All locations are great!! Also, if you're just in NYC visiting, you should check them out because they have guest rates for visitors. -
Review from Albert L.
Coming from CA, there is an abundant amount of 24 hour fitnesses. I enjoy how I can use my membership at the NY facilities (although I had to upgrade). As for the SoHo location, it's pretty good. The machines are pretty new and there is quite a variety to choose from. It's not that crowded at night, which I don't know why.
Compared to the California facilities, it is better over there even though this is the most expensive brand of the 24. I guess it's the excess charge in rent. What knocks this facility down a star is that they always run out of towels. But overall, I like how there aren't crowds here and I don't have to wait for a machine. -

Could have more weights and less douchebags. Almost always out of wipes for the equipment and occasionally out of towels. Unacceptable. Unfortunately very pricey, but that's apparently the norm in NYC. Despite committing to and paying for a 2-year membership contract, still costs me more than $50/month. Used to workout at 24 Hour Fitness in San Diego for $30/month at 1 of 5 different facilities within 10 miles of my residence. Unfortunately the NYC franchises don't have the amenities that the San Diego locations can boast (basketball court, pool, etc.), & the fees are much higher. When it comes to gyms with long hours with reasonable proximity to my apartment, there aren't many options, so I make the most of it.

I just recently moved to NYC from Miami and I had my membership to 24 hour fitness down there. I came to this location in SoHo and its a way different feel than the one that I used to go to in Miami.
The first thing that is different is the price. They told me that I would have to upgrade my membership because mine was local for Miami and I didn't have "Super Club" access and all the locations in NYC are super clubs. So as a result I went from paying $30 a month to $90! That 200% increase was a nice swift kick in the ass!
The gym itself was definitely nice...and I do like all the amenities that they have to offer but I might have to switch to Crunch just because its closer to my house in Brooklyn and its cheaper. The only reason I gave them three stars is because the gym is very well kept and it wasn't packed when I went so I didn't feel like I had to wait for the machines like I used to in Miami...but I couldn't give them more than that for the huge price hike. -

I can only figure that anyone who doesn't like this gym will NEVER be happy with anything in their sad lives. Probably the type of people who would win the lottery and complain about losing 50% to taxes. But, I digress...
I go in the morning, before work, so maybe that has something to do with it. I've never had to wait for a machine, shower or anything else. Cleanliness of all areas I've used is acceptable. Staff seems friendly and I've never experienced any type of sales pressure.
While the month to month price is on par with other gyms in NYC go for the upfront charge and you'll come down to a reasonable monthly price - about $52/month if you commit to 2 years. Seriously, you may not know if you're going to continue living in the area, but if you're concerned you may not GO, well, maybe the gym isn't for you, Tubby.
As for anyone suggesting NYSC over 24 Hour Fitness... they might WORK at NYSC. That place has gone down hill since my original sign up. NYSC now charges you $7 per trip to any club that isn't your "home" club. 24 Hour Fitness allows you to go to ANY club in it's chain if you are a member of an ULTRA CLUB, which all in NYC are.
I'd say the one thing I would say is a negative is this: If you're going to need to shave DO NOT use the free razors. Felt like I used sand paper to clear the whiskers. I bring my own now. They do provide shave gel, hair gel, lotion, q-tips & deodorant so I can deal with having to bring my own razor.
Dudes need to learn not to drop weights. If ya have to drop after your last rep you probably can't handle the weight, chief. -

Got a 7 day pass and trying the gym now. Here's my take on this gym:
Pros:
- 24 hours
- Friendly staff
- More affordable comparing to other gyms
- Monthly instead of yearly contract
- Lots of machines
- Clean locker rooms and they are digital locks
- Good collection of healthy snacks and drinks to choose from around the front desk area
- Good quality classes
Cons:
- Slow and small elevator (and there's only 1 working now), and you're supposed to take the elevator instead of using the stairs even though it's located at 4th floor only
- The yoga instructors I have had so far don't try to correct your pose which isn't very helpful
- Yoga classes are not very relaxing because the room is located directly below the weight room, where people just let go of their weights and loud "BANG!" happen very constantly throughout the classes
- If you're running on treadmill or using elliptical, you can hear the music blasting from the exercise room when there's a class going on -

Update 5/23/2012 - Just came back from 24 Hour Fitness & I'm still so extremely pissed. I walked out of the locker room to see a trainer speaking to boyfriend, basically telling him that he & I could no longer work out together.... Uhm, what? He's apparently not allowed to spot me or tell me if I'm lifting/using the machines correctly.
So why is it that a group of guys can work out together, yet my boyfriend can't help me? When we asked the staff member that same question, he didn't have any words for us except that he's just there to tell us that we can no longer work out together. I'm a freakin' gym newbie & he knows everything - Of course I'm going to ask him for help! My boyfriend & I joined the gym together, expecting to at least be able to work out together.
Is 24 Hour Fitness sexist? We've been members of this gym for almost a year and have enjoyed until now. So now I've changed my 4 star rating to 1.
-------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------
The boyfriend and I were searching for gyms in our area to become members of and after extensive research online, we decided to come in and check out the free week pass.
After riding the elevator (there's two elevators) to the 4th floor, we were greeted by the receptionist and had mentioned how it was our first time and would like to check out what it had to offer. She called down one of the trainers and had us wait in the lounge. 4th floor had the cycle room + lockers + lounge + computers + a mini store (supplements, water bottles, protein, ect). 5th floor had all cardio + class room that had windows to view Broadway below. 6th floor was the weights, also had windows all around. We set up our 7 day plan (they asked us what days & times we would come in during our trial week) and even set up a free personal trainer consultation.
We completed the week trial and signed up for the membership. What's great about this gym is that they offer a month-to-month membership - PERFECT for those who don't want to commit to yearly memberships.
We've been a member of the gym for about 4 months now and have no complaints (except for the yoga classes & the weight room directly above. You really can't relax unless you're pro at tuning out sudden thuds as the weights hit the floor -___-). I've never had to worry about it being too busy or not being able to get on a machine. -

I went here for a day. Very cool and convenient location in the heart of SoHo. It's a 24 hour gym so that is awesome. It is a HUGE space but I think there could be more equipment for the space they have.
They have some leg machines which move with your body. It was kind of weird actually but, I'm assuming that is better for your joints. All the equipment is pretty new and well maintained. There are so many amenities and the locker room is AMAZING. So much shower room.
The gym is very clean. you get towels and there is a nice area to hang out after the workout. Plus there is a sales area where you can purchase a variety of workout necessities.
There are three floors. There are many classes to choose from. I was only there for a day, so I couldnt take advantage of that. I'm sure it is pretty expensive though. But if you want a 24 hour gym that is kept clean in the middle of SoHo, that is your best bet. -

On my Yelp mobile, the deal is "check in and get free 7 day pass".
Called and told them that I'm a member, but don't have an "ultra sport" membership and asked if I can come thru, check in on yelp, and get the 7 day pass.
NOPE
If you're already a member, you have to pay $50 to get the same 7 day pass.
"so you guys treat non-members better than members over there"
"uhhhh, well I guess. I can give you a discount on the pass and give it to you for $30"

This gym is open 24 hours at all times which is great for someone like me who hardly sleeps and might get random urges to hit the gym at odd hours. Of all the times I've been there, it has never been crowded, there's always some free equipment to use so there is no waiting.
For the cardio folks, their second level is all cardio machines, can not ever picture having to wait for a machine. There's so many available its crazy. They also have tv's everywhere so that's a definite plus. Right next to the cardio machine area they have a studio for classes I'm guessing, but I've never attended any of them so I can not comment on that.
Towels are available in small and large sizes. They are available in the locker rooms and on shelves that are located through out the workout areas. They have water fountains on the second and third levels. The locker rooms have showers, hard dryer, q tips, disposable razors and assortment of soap and lotions + TV. There are a assortment of lockers for members to chose from and they also have lockers in the workout area for those that don't want to go into the locker rooms.
Workout area with the weights and machines take up the third level of the gym. They are relatively new and well kept. The area is relatively clean with some dust bunnies and other dirt around the floor of the machines, but it's excusable. They also have tv's scattered throughout for viewing while working out. The atmosphere is pretty good and relaxed which is a definite plus.
For the asking price, it's definitely worth it. Our first time in, we spoke to a person named Issac. He was a nice fellow, was understanding and gave us a tour. He pushed a bit to get us to sign up and all, but was understanding to the fact that we wanted to try it out and compare it to other places before committing. All the other staff have been super friendly and accommodating.
Simply put, love this place and would definitely recommend it to others who want to workout in a relaxed atmosphere. -

This is my home 24-Hour Fitness while I'm freelancing here in NYC, and compared to many of the other 24's I've been to, it's def. up there on the list.
This club, unlike its brother clubs in Manhattan (why does it always have to be a "sister" something? that's sexist), this one goes above ground, which allows a nice view of the greater SoHo area and allows the employees of the Adidas building across the street some a little show. Also, the workout floors are huge, with plenty of weights as well as a huge fitness studio for Group X classes. And the staff is pretty dope, super friendly and willing to lend a hand.
Most of the negatives are the same as any other place in NY: pretty expensive for a membership and crowded on the weeknights. The elevator goes out sometimes as well, which means you gotta walk up 4 flights of stairs to get to the club. Look, you're going to the gym. A few flights of stairs won't kill you, can possibly act as a warm up, and if you're really having a problem getting up there, how bouts you put down the doughnut and get your arse in gear? I know you NY kids don't drive so much, but it's like back in CA where people go to the gym, but spend 10 minutes driving around the parking lot for a spot 3 ft. from the club. In the words of the great Gob Bluth, i mean, COME ON!!! -

Damn all you New Year's resolutions people who are ruining my gym routine! I literally spent 20 minutes on Monday trying to find a locker. :( I also had to change in the corner like a shy little middle schooler. OY.
I think the staff members are genuinely concerned about your health and are very helpful. Love the Monday, Wednesday and Friday spin classes! The fingerprint sign in system is great considering I lost three cards here previously and had to pay a small fortune for replacements. I would be careful about the locker system they have - Gawker reported major thefts in the locker rooms several months ago. Although why someone would want to put their laptop in a gym locker makes me question their sanity.
And of course the giant elephant in the room: THE HOLLISTER STORE'S STENCH. People. Seriously, who thinks this shit smells good? Ugh. I am grimacing at the thought of that awful cologne cloud that everyone has to stand in before they can take the elevator upstairs. I swear on some days it's a Hollister code orange and I nearly puke before I can make it on to the elevator. -

I love this gym! The equipment is brand new and always clean. I never have a problem getting a treadmill or the weights I need.
The cost per month is extremely reasonable compared to what you pay at other gyms. (i.e. NYSC, which is a dump, or Equinox, which is a little too fancy for me). Free towel service and lots of products in the bathroom as well as wifi and a huge assortment of sports/protein drinks. And hello! IT'S 24 HOURS! All the time, whats better than that??
My biggest complaint, and probably ONLY complaint is that the lockers are always a hot mess. They are all computerized which is nice so you don't have to lug a lock around. The con to this is that many times they malfunction or are just plain dead. Now they are switching some over to allow club members to use their own locks. (bummer). Although I have gotten used to it, there is a distinct Hollister aroma as the perfume drenched store is attached to the gym.Listed in: Most Likely To Find Joey At:

This gym is a great spot for those of us who like to get-in and get-out without the crazy people at other gyms - you know the people who look like they had to go workout to look good enough to go to the gym (not naming names... Equinox...)
Pros- Its 24 hours (duh), there are plenty of cardio machines in the morning, the class times are convenient, its cheap by Manhattan standards, and the staff is super friendly
Cons- the womens locker room is really small and sometimes there are fights over showers and make-up stations (there is a crazy lady who is in there in the morning who is VERY proprietary over her space its kind of funny) when a machine breaks it takes a bit to fix it, the classes they offer are pretty generic (no s or dance offered) and cleanliness (dustbunnies around workout machines and hair in the showers)
If they fix the cons it would easily be a 5 star workout facility. -

Ok, This is my third update for this place. Been going to this gym since they opened and a few things have changed. Overall, I love this gym but there are a few things they should have perfected by now which they have not.
Pros:
-Location
-Friendly staff
-Mostly clean (except for mens locker room)
-New gym and equipment
-Open space
-Towel service
-No need to bring your own lock
Cons:
-Elevator does not always work so you get a nice little pre-workout workout walking up 4 flights (that is not that bad I guess).
-There have been several instances where hot water doesn't work (in the winter). That is GREAT after a long workout and cardio. Really it is.
-Mens locker room can get trashed if they are short staffed (which happens more than it should). No clean towels and nothing is picked up.2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

THE BEST NEW GYM IN MANHATTAN, NY! Yes I said it. I really did't believe I would like this place, only because I have never been this challenged while working out. They keep their promise. If the trainer (Dana) informs you that you will hurt the next day from her routine, she pretty much means it! I felt sore for about a week afterwards. Made my personal training session totally worth every penny!
The bathrooms are clean. I just signed up a couple weeks ago, so I did not get to experience it when it was blazing hot outside. The temperature in the lockers are fine, and I love how digital combination locks are on every door. No need to lug around heavy locks anymore! The towels are great. Way better than NYSC that don't cover you completely when you want to shower. At least 24 Hour Fitness has two sizes! Smaller one for working out, and larger one for showering! Yay!
The machines are super nice. Brand new, and they are the only ones that have HOIST machines and weights in Manhattan. I love HOIST brand! So much easier to use than the other ones I've experienced.
I tried my FIRST class yesterday. I really didn't not believe I could even benefit from it. Usually classes are boring and don't really work out any areas. I was DEFINITELY sore today. I could not even get out of bed this morning! The class was called Willpower. Wow, she really targeted every part of my body, especially my legs and glutes! I will be returning to this class again for sure.
I signed up with Elle. Shes the membership consultant. Tell her I sent ya, she's super friendly and she makes sure you are getting the right package. They do offer promotions from time to time, so just let her know I sent you so maybe she will give you a super awesome deal!
24 Hour fitness gyms are popping up everywhere. I'm happy to know that if I'm in another state, I can work out at that location as well!Listed in: All this food..must stay in…

I've been a member here for about a month and a half now and for the most part, I'm pleased with this gym. I gave it four stars because for the price (especially compared to most other gyms in NYC), you really shouldn't be complaining about what is a genuinely nice, clean facility.
Pros:
-Large workout areas
-Much more affordable then most gyms in NYC
-no wait for a machine,
-plenty of lockers (in the ladies room, at least)
-no having to lug a lock back and forth
-Fingerprint check in means I won't lose my membership card
-nice people
-a nice variety of classes (Take Zumba with Jeanette on Sundays. You won't regret it)
-It's around the corner from my job (obviously applies to me only)
Cons:
-The weight room is DIRECTLY ABOVE the classroom. Talk about poor planning. If you try to take Yoga or any other quiet class, it sounds like WWII is happening overhead with all you beefy gentleman dropping the weights on the ground. It's impossible to relax. I'm actually writing a letter to the manager about this, it's so bothersome (and if they just switched where the weights are with where the weight machines are, the problem would be solved).
-Speaking of yoga, if you're looking for an early morning class, you're not going to get it. Sure, there's one at 8am a lot of mornings, but it's for an hour, and I don't know what you guys do for a living, but I have to be at work at 9. Showered. With makeup on. And my hair done.
-The ridiculous Hollister smell in the hallway.
-The slow elevator...I'm never sure what it's doing. It's only 3 floors. What's taking so long?
All in all, despite the cons, still worth it and warranting 4 stars -
Review from Kiki M.
I work out even when I'm on vacation therefore I did a search to find the closest 24 Hour Fitness to where I was staying. I found this 24 Hour Fitness, this named gym, Derek Jeter is a lucky man have a gym named after him, and it was a far cry from the gym I frequent at home.
The facility is fancy. I was blown away by its newness and cleanliness and size. You have three floors to choose from. The first floor has the entrance and locker rooms, the second is the cardio equipment level, the top floor is where the free weights and weight machines are. One, or maybe two, rooms were dedicated to group classes and another room was strictly for spin classes.
I spoke to a man at the front desk who was very friendly and helpful. He explained the electric lock system for the lockers and gave me a layout of the gym. I started out with the weights and was impressed with the machines and the sheer number of free weight and other equipment. The gym I go to barely has exercise balls yet there there were large and small exercise balls, balance disks, steps, and a personal favorite, kettle bells. I had a lot of space to move around without crowding someone else's workout area.
Next I ventured to the cardio level and there were treadmills, elliptical, and stair machines. I never had to wait for anything but I was there mid-afternoon on a weekday and hardly anyone was there.
I do have one complaint. Since this 24 Hour Fitness is considered an ultra sport gym and my membership only allowed me to visit sport gyms, I could only have a complimentary visit that day. If I wanted to continue to use the gym I would have to pay $15 each visit or talk to a membership coach and upgrade my account. Upgrading my account would be the logical choice but there are no ultra sport gyms on the West Coast where I am. It was tough to raise my monthly fee for a gym I would hardly be able to use.
I thoroughly enjoyed this 24 Hour Fitness. It is large, well kept, and housed plenty of equipment.Listed in: Kiki Takes On The Big Apple, Check out the guns

POOR! Sooooo POOR! Now this is an ULTRA sport because they give towel service....
The regular sports clubs in any other city is much more posh but because this New York, they try to con you with a different name and add rough-cotton towel service to shut u up as they charge ridiculous fees for below-par amenities with TERRIBLE TERRIBLE fitness classes- check them out- on any given day, you rarely find more than five people in a class, which only helps makes the class look fuller because the room is so tiny.
Check out NYSC or any of the smaller clubs for real fitness, real instructors, and cool staff- even if they may not provide towel service. -

What a major disappointment. I was enthusiastic and ready to join the gym as I heard good things and its in my neighborhood but the facilities were under par (general cleanliness and maintenance) and the harassing membership sales people were just too much to take.
This is why i didn't join;
1. 5 minute wait for the shower
2. Shower was missing the handle
3. Harassing phone calls, text messages and emails from membership salespeople
4. Steam room was luke warm had no steam and smelled bad
Overall I think my experience was tainted from the start when I got quite an aggressive pitch during the tour which was done by 3 salespersons at once! Uh, awkward. Then when I came in with my guest pass i would have to avoid the salespeople when I would walk to the locker room as they would consistently ask me if i was ready to join. I used the week guest pass 3 times and each visit got more and more frustrating and disappointing. -

I had a 1-yr all access membership to 24-hr Fitness last year and this location was the best of the three they have in the city. The gym takes up three floors.
The 4th floor is reception, the store, spin room and lockers. 5th Floor is treadmills & other cardio with a large classroom overlooking Broadway. 6th Floor is the weight room and free weights area.
Plenty of large windows everywhere to let light in and to stare out of when taking a break.
The locker area is a bit cramped but I've never been here during rush hour.
I sure miss this place. I had to drop my membership when it ran out last July. Damn economy! ;) -

I joined a few months back under the impression that you could freeze your account at anytime and reinstate it whenever you wanted to. I travel alot for work so my account has been frozen for 2 months. Now I am getting harassing phone calls saying that I am past due and need to pay my bill or go in and talk to someone. I went in and spoke with ELLE and she told me everything was fine ( she is the one who signed me up ) I am still receiving these phone calls. Completely ridiculous. Why would they offer an option to freeze your account if you still get charged for the period it is frozen?

Been a member here for a month now and no major complaints. Clean, huge gym that's half the price or less than Equinox.
Not a fan of the slow elevator (they don't let you take the stairs) or the locker room.
Machines, weights are great however. Plenty of space never too crowded. Can't speak for the classes but as an observer they seem pretty good as well. -

I kind of didn't want to review this place because then it would mean this place gets more crowded with more people.
Was a member of 24 Hours when I was living in San Francisco so I just decided to upgrade my membership to the Ultra one.
I've got to say, the 24 Hour Ultra gyms are really nice compared to just the all-sport ones that are in SF.
Huge weight room. New Machines. Electronic lockers. Towels galore.
For the most part, not crowded, although I tend to go weekend afternoons and after dinner on the weekdays.
Only complaints are the slow ass elevator, half the locks are broken, the small locker room, the old guy walking around naked, and the weird subtle stench in the locker room.
....ok maybe the stench part is to be expected. -

This gym is clean, not overly crowded, and has nice locker rooms. You don't need to bring a lock because the lockers have electronic ones, which is a huge plus. They are also pretty flexible with membership packages, and have good rates as far as NYC gyms go. The classes taught by Keoni are not only an excellent workout, but they are so fun!
It must be said, too, that this place is exponentially nicer than the nearby Crunch (too dark, bad locker room, weird setup). -

I've gotta say, I'm very happy with having joined 24hr Fitness. It's generally kept very clean. Every time I'm there they have people cleaning the place constantly. There might be a towel left behind from some lazy member too battle weary to chuck their stuff into the hamper but it never lasts long. They provide everything in the shower rooms- moisturizers, shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors, shave gel, all that stuff. No q-tips but hey, minor detail.
The machines are all brand new, complete sets of both Hoist and Precor (which means a lot if you kno anything about that stuff).
The only thing I don't like is that they don't have a full-sized heavybag at any of their gyms. That's really goddam annoying.
Generally pretty damn good though. If you're going to Soho to sign up ask for Elle Aviv. She's cool :) -

Compared to the NYSC gyms, the 24 Hour Fitness gyms have equipments that are better maintained and TV attached to each treadmills that actually works!
The good:
- gym is spacious with 3 floors
- new facility
- well maintained equipments
- TVs on all the cardio machine works
The bad:
- small locker room. It gets a bit crowded due to the confined space
- the damn Hollister cologne reeks through. The smell can be nauseating at times
I would recommend joining the 24 hours fitness clubs. -

This gorgeous clean gym occupies the top three floors above Hollister in Soho. No more sweatin' on the treadmill at street level while passers by gawk at you and think..."suckers"
The equipment and machines are all brand new and state of the art. All cardio machines have personal TVs that you can watch or plug in your iPod to view your own shows/movies/music videos, etc. The classes are a little sparse at the moment, but I'm sure that will pick up as more people join.
Other highlights include a large cycle room, an enormous sun filled group exercise room, steam room, towel service, available lockers, shampoo/soap stocked showers, lotions, razors, and other toiletries for your convenience...and a super friendly staff. -

I love this place! It's new, clean and the folks that work here are great. I can't really speak to the classes though -- I'm more concerned with the elliptical machines and weights and in those regards, this place is perfect. However, if I were to knock this place for anything, it's the locks in the locker rooms. People were raving about the electronic locks -- but at least half of them are broken. Truly a terrible investment, they're badly made and always malfunction. Good news is I hear they're installing new locks in January, so I'll be looking forward for that!
All told, I look forward to coming here each morning and I'm glad I decided to pony up to come here.
