All the reviews of restaurants I'm doing is giving me some chub.
Gym time!
I signed up for a month-to-month membership for less than 30 bucks. I was lucky to take advantage of the initiation fee being waived.
Facility is clean and machines all appear modern and in working order. I opted for the treadmill beside my wife who has had a membership here since the Clinton Administration.
Kinda bummed the heart rate monitor is not hooked up on these machines. But look at those calories go bye bye!
30 minutes and 265 calories later, I opted to go downstairs and try a few yoga postures. I would have preferred to do them alone in empty group x room. Got a weird vibe from staff, so I did them on the carpet next to the check in lady's desk.
What can be weirder than watching a semi-overweight guy doing yoga by himself?
I don't care. I'm burning calories. -

In the past 10 years, this is the third time I'm having a 24 hour fitness membership. I have signed up and cancelled once in 2003, and once more in 2007. Those previous times, I would make monthly donations in the form of my membership fees. But this time, I am definitely making use of my fees.
The reason, Zumba and Kickboxing.
Kickboxing has just started recently on Tuesday nights (6pm). The instructor, Lauren, is excellent! Not only does she push you through the hour, she is high energy and in great shape. Nothing like having an instructor in great shape to motivate you. She goes through each workout routine slowly at first, then at high speed to push your limits. She is attentive to first timers and welcomes feedback.
Zumba with Yumi (Tuesday 7pm) and Leanne (Wednesday 5pm) are also great classes. Usually, its easy to follow if its your first time. And even if you cant follow the moves, they encourage you to keep moving anyway! They move throughout the room so everyone can see how each routine is done. After about 2 or 3 classes, you'll get it down. Both are very high energy, fun, and constantly moving. They take requests, but also have a great variety of songs.
Zumba on Sunday is okay. The instructor isn't as high energy as the previous ones I mentioned. Sometimes she just stands around the room. I have a hard time following the moves since she never really does them 100%. She also left the room a couple times the last time I went. I think she depends too much on the regulars as an example of the routines. If you know the Zumba songs and the moves for them, then you may not have a problem. -

I love Kaneohe 24HF. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and encouraging. There is a plethora of classes so there is truly something for everyone. I take Zumba, Cycle, Turbo Kickboxing, Core, and more. My personal favorite is Will Power and Grace because its a chalenge to the body as well as the mind. I definitely recommend working with one of their personal trainers. If you follow the program you will definitely see results!!! My trainer is Marisa and she is AMAZING! If you aren't in to classes or trainers there are tons of machines for cardio and weights for strength training. I am a huge fan of the Kids Club because the kids can play up to 2 hours while you work out.
The downsides:
Parking. Come early if you're trying to get to a class because more often than not you'll be circling the lot a while before giving up and parking up by longs.
Class size. The more popular classes FILL up and sometimes I feel like I might end up kicking someone in the head during TKB. Some people come wait in line up to an hour before their class starts.
No pool. You can find a pool at other 24s, but I prefer Kaneohe because there seems to be more available machines to work out on.
Other than that its all positive. Don't forget about the access to the Sauna, Steam Room and Jacuzzi. And in case you were wondering, there's a lot of nice eye candy as well ;).
24 is great for people on all levels of activity. Definitely recommend it! -

out of all the gyms on the island even the new so called up coming "ufc" gym, this gym is by far the best. Who needs mma workouts? Why would you even promote fighting in the community?
Besides the parking, I love the staff. The front desk is super awesome And friendly. They know my name....wow! When I signed up the membership counselor was great. She told me she was commission free so that helped a lot. She showed me the membership options and was hassle free. Then she introduced me to a trainer and i was able to set up an orientation with them. I would've gotten a trainer but I couldn't afford at the time. when we were done she took me up and set my check in process.
Overall I give this club a high 5!
Hassle free and clean gym. Best part-friendly staff and clean gym then the other 24 on the island.
Great job! -

- Staff is SO unfriendly - What happened to Quincy and his crew?!
- Machines are consistently broken and filthy - even if the machine works, the calorie counter or the handle or SOMETHING is broken!
- It takes about a month for a machine to be fixed
- Locker room restrooms are equivalent to beach park restrooms
- The jacuzzi looks like it contains dirty swamp water
- The steam room smells like rotten sock barf
- Machines are OOOOOLLLLLLLLDDDDDD -
Review from Lyra H.
So, I was one of those people that didn't believe in 24 Hour Fitness. I thought it was a waste of money because I could exercise in the comfort of my own home or at a district park, pretty much thought I could exercise anywhere BUT 24s. It's only been my second time going, and I really enjoyed my experience. I thought it'd be really intimidating because I assumed everyone that went to the gym was SUPER buff or at least in very good shape. BOY WAS I WRONG. There's everyone from young to old at the gym.
When we signed up for our membership, we were nicely greeted by the person at the front counter. She told us to fill out the form and to wait for her to get the next available membership manager. We were greeted by David Jin Ra who was the guy who did our sign up process. He was really nice and understanding that, yes I am girl and no I am not extremely athletic. He suggested a personal trainer and also answered all the questions we had about signing up. The whole process took less than 30 minutes.
I live close by, so if I really wanted to, I could walk to Windward City Shopping Center. Maybe some days I will because the parking area near the gym isn't too big and for some reason the stalls seem to be REALLY tight. So parking is a big con. But it is a shopping center, so I guess you could park anywhere in the shopping center. It just might not be near the gym. I'm not a big fan of the smell, but hey. A gym is a gym. A gym is supposed to stink. People exercise there. Even though I've only been there twice, I've noticed some people don't wipe the machines when they're done. It's a little gross, but you can always wipe it before you use the machine.
There's several classes, and I'm excited to try the Zumba or Kickboxing classes. -

Close to my house and the only big gym on the west side. equipment is ok, but there are only 3 areas to do squats in. Another machine wouldn't hurt. I usually do Yoga here and it's ok. I've tried Turbo Kickboxing and it's basicially flailing your arms and legs around like an idiot. If you want to learn real kickboxing to defend yourself and get a workout at the same time, join a martial arts place. Other than that it's great for cardio. I've done some personal training with Justin in the past and I can say that he knows his stuff and has given me good routines. He's a cool guy to be around and you can talk story every time you see him. He showed me the proper forms and I can do hang cleans. No injuries training with him. This place can get crowded in the afternoons, but it's survivable.

Why all the bad reviews?
I personally love this 24 location the best. I only wish it was closer to my house. There is always parking here. It is plentiful and free! The gym is large and is always clean. The AC is strong unlike the Kapiolani location, which you can hardly feel. I love the placement of the TVs. Yes, I am the few that come to the gym to watch TV! The staff are friendly and I love the class times.
Overall, this is the best 24 on the island in my opinion! -

Hmm..where to start with this gym...I'll start with the pros...
Pros...
-great class schedule! i love the TKB, MMA, and body pump classes.
-SOME friendly workers.
damm...i think thats it...now for the cons...
Cons...
-equipment seems to always be stink and dirty
-most of the staff there, including the general manager ISN'T friendly...(bring back QUINCY!)
-bathrooms are dirty..although i do see the nana trying to clean it..but one person can only do so much.
-sauna, jacuzzi, and steam room are nasty stink, dirty, and often seems broken.
-AC seems to always be crappy or not working
-speakers in the group X room seems to always be breaking down and then they take forever to fix it.
I only go to this gym because it's convenient to where i live. otherwise, i wouldn't go there at all...and like i said...
BRING BACK QUINCY!!! -
Review from Jenny S.
I personally like this gym a lot better than the one in Kapiolani for a few reasons:
- spacious parking
-not crowded
-no stench
-bigger sauna
Although there isn't as many equipment as the other gym the atmosphere here is more laid back and chill. If you go at the right time, around 6:30-7:30 there isn't much of a crowd so a lot of the equipment is open for use. Any of the equipment that can be found at kapiolani's gym can be found here. So if you're willing to go for a drive (if you don't already live in the area) and enjoy a nice scenery on the way, i highly recommend this gym!! -

If I hadn't experience the Kapiolani gym, I probably would rate this gym at a 4-star, but now that I know better... it's at a 3-star.
The Good:
*I enjoy all the fitness classes that they offer (Zumba, Hot Hula, Turbo Kick Boxing, Yoga, Body Pump, Spin, etc.)
*The working staff are always energetic and very friendly
The Bad:
*They used to offer some cool fitness classes like Belly Dancing and Hip Hip classes, but I guess not alot of people went so they canceled them... I miss belly dancing classes!
*The machines are just SO old... We've had the same machines for like.. the past 10 years I swear, no new ones. just old. rusty.
*The atmosphere is ugh. Too much male. Too much eyeing out going on.
The Weird:
*The guys here are fricken meat heads. My boyfriend and I were working out this one time. I was CLEARLY in front of the mirror first as he was helping me work out my inner thighs with some weights, and SOME GUY, tells me.. "Oh, CAN MOVE OVER LIL BIT?" in his local accent ......... I was like what the EFF man! I was here first!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave him the meanest stink eye, and moved over JUST A LITTLE BIT. Who cares if I'm only 5feet tall/short, I'll take you out big guy!!!!!!!! -

Okay, so here is the deal.
Equipment: Old, (was once white, is now rust) but still works. I guestimate that it is about 15 maybe 20 years old. While equipment doesn't become obsolete as quickly as cell phones, it is time for an update.
Classes: Not sure, but always packed. This may just be because 24 is the only decent sized gym on this side of the island. (for now)
Staff:
About the same as any 24. Most of the Ops staff can fog a mirror and say hello, a few actually care.
Trainers are alright, but as I watch what a few do with their clients I wonder why anyone would pay to go through a modified version of P90x.
NOT ALL fit this category, a few do seem to genuinely know what they are doing and have an interest in their clients. (It's easy to see, just observe before you buy)
Sales staff: Don't seem like car sales people which can be a compliment if you have been to one of those gyms before but overall just ehh.
Atmosphere: pretty typical of an old gym. Long time members are friendly, new members walk around confused and the kids that role in after school are there to hang out.
Overall: It will do, because it is the only thing this size on this side of the island, but I do wish something else would open soon. A little competition may be in order to cause a facilities upgrade. -

So I have been to my fair share of 24 Hour Fitnesses both here and in California and I must say, I actually enjoy going to the one at Windward City. It's not the best, but there are worse conditions it could be in.
The equipment gets the job done though it could definitely use an upgrade. I haven't been on the cardio equipment there in a while but last I checked, most of them were functioning. It's the lifting equipment that either needs to be properly cleaned or replaced. Can't expect a gym to stay completely rust free but I would expect a little bit better maintenance to be done if they want to be at a higher standard. Still, the equipment functions and gets the job done.
The service here hasn't been the best nor has it been the worst service I've gotten at a 24 Hour. The one I visited primarily in California had some of the best service I could ask for. Here, it's been 50/50. Sometimes the people are super nice and will converse with you and other times they just look at you and seem to dismiss you. Overall, they are helpful and friendly when it comes to knowing the business so props for that!
The gym is decently organized with the Group Workout Room, Cycling Room, and stretching area on the first floor along with the front desk and Membership Counselors. This is actually the location where I first received my national membership which is now grandfathered. Thankfully the company still honors the benefits that came with it which allows me to workout at any 24 Hour Fitness in the U.S., even the super sports that are being built.
The second floor consists of the locker rooms, free weight areas, and the cardio and lifting machines. It's organized decently well so there is some flow to the way the machines are lined up in comparison to the muscle groups that are being worked. Like any other 24 Hour Fitness there is usually a remixed techno song playing in the background and some shows playing on the televisions surrounding the area that are meant for those using the cardio machines to plug into.
All in all, I love going to this 24 Hour after 7:30 pm when most of the other clients have gone home so it's not too crowded. It's convenient and stays open 24 hours like the name implies (trust, I have been to ones that haven't stayed open all day) and I get the workout that I need each time. While it may not be the best gym ever, it is functional and decently maintained. -

I originally signed up at Kapiolani but set up Windward as my home gym so this review is partially reflected toward Kapiolani as well. I was disappointed that no one gave me a tour of EITHER of the gyms. I still have no idea to the layout of Kapiolani, so I've never went there other than signing up. :/ I also received an email from 24 asking if I had an FO which all members are supposed to get.. But nope. I didn't get that either. It was difficult for me at first because besides the treadmill I really didn't know how to use any of the equipment and following those little type written instructions is a little hard for me.
Overall, Windward is a pretty okay gym. I haven't been to any of the others: Golds Gym, Punahou Fitness, etc.. But I think I'll be w/ 24 for a while since it's cheap.
I also like that if I were to cancel today, I'd still be able to go for a little over a month from now because of the initial fees.
+ The equipment all work pretty well, now that I know how to use 90% of them. They're usually clean, except for when inconsiderate people don't wipe their sweat off the seats but the spray to clean the equipment is very helpful.
If you go late at night like I do, it's pretty empty and there's lots of parking.
I like the sauna.
- The bathroom is disgusting! I've only used it once because I absolutely had to go, otherwise, I'll just wait until I'm home.
Once in a while one or two of the electronic equipment will be broken, but there's a lot of other's to use.
There's no staff on the top floor to help you if you have any questions.
The treadmill's programming doesn't work. :( -
Review from Pie C.
Price: $-$$ kinda not worth it for the kind of food they serve and the crappiness of the service.
Sucks for us people in Hawaii, we only have 24 hr fitness and nothing else.
Service: It's different for everything 24 hr fitness gym location, for Kaneohe the service sucks, getting a trainer is a total waste of money, canceling the membership is such a pain, they would still change you for the next month even though the contract is already cut way before that month.
Facilities are good thought. -
Review from Tracie F.
Straight up...this place is kind of a dive. Why the three stars you ask? Mostly for the people...The front desk staff are super friendly. The maintenance staff are really nice and the trainers are fabulous! I have trained with a number of trainers there and have not been disappointed. If you want an awesome trainer I highly recommend Chris! He is the perfect balance of big burly weight lifter guy, cheerleader, playground bully, therapist, and well...dad. He knows what he is doing and is trained for those with injuries...I highly recommend him injured or not!
So why not four or five stars you ask? The facilities are ghetto. Machines are old and many are frequently out of service. The bathrooms are dirty and disgusting. Due to their level of cleanliness here I would NEVER EVER set foot in their hot tub. Gross! They just went through this huge renovation. I was hoping for new showers and up to date cardio machines complete with TVs. What did I get? Motivational words on the wall and new seat covers on the machines. Seat covers were a nice touch. I would rather have a new shower then a sign that says "stay motivated" or whatever. I would be more motivated to come if it were in great condition.
Another plus...the price. It is a sport club so prices are reasonable. Just don't expect too much. Come here if you want a simple workout. Go to Kapiolani or Pearl City if you want quality facilities. -

Functional Gym that gets the job done.
This gym is a good size (segmented by body part). There are flat screen TVs throughout the facility; however, it really only seems viewable on the cardio machines and in the locker room. Due to the size, I have not ever found it ridiculously crowded; but it does get busy (never to the point where it totally changes your routine). You have to bring your own workout towel, and paper towels and disinfectant sprays are provided. However, one thing many may not like is that due to the sheer size, the place does not stay very clean. Use your towel to cover the equipment. The staff are always vacuuming (but shouldn't they be moping? I don't think vacuuming really cleans up all of the sweat). Nonetheless, staff are extremely friendly.
The biggest downside to the gym is that the air conditioning unit tends to break down very often (one time it was for the entire summer). Since the gym is primarily on the second floor (heat rises) and everyone is working out at a fever pace (generating heat) and there is only one open door (no open windows to get a breeze) and factoring in Hawaii weather, it gets EXTREMELY hot. Whenever the gym's air conditioning was broken, I would start sweating the minute I stepped into the facility. The gym does rent portable air conditions but the gym is too large for this (those units are meant to cool a small room, not a large gym; they also only rent two or three for the entire gym).
Other than this downside, I think this gym really serves its purpose. It's not a place where you really want to hang out at. It provides a place to work out. You also can't really complain about the price (it's dirt cheap). -

Although I'm new to this facility, I've been very impressed so far. I was shocked when the front desk remembered me enough to ask me if I was signing up for a spin class. Over six years ago, I belonged to the Kahului, Maui facility. The Maui gym is tiny and lacks the service and number of equipment compared to Windward City. The gyms in New England that I've belonged to doesn't come close to what's available at Windward City. It's great to have a number of spin/group cycle classes available everyday. -

Kaneohe, HI
I don't know why people don't write more positive things about this place! I truly believe they do us windward people a service by just their very existence. There really is no other gym option on this side besides curves (sorry, no guys allowed and women under forty) and maybe the YMCA. Other than that we would need to drive 30 minutes to get to a gym in town or pearl city, and I doubt I'd make it to the gym half as much if I did.
I have to admit some of the equipment is a little older, and the place can get a little crowded during peak hours but what Gym has it perfect? From my experience at other 24hour fitness in the mainland, the one in Windward city is actually nice and clean, especially since they renovated last year. I love that they give you the option now to sanitize your own equipment. Equipment does break down from time to time, but they are pretty quick at repairing. I really like the new area on the first floor with all the kettle and medicine balls. Its a great place to stretch out after a long workout.
As for classes, I personally have only taken a few over the years. I mostly stick with Yoga, but I have enjoyed all of the instructors. Classes in the evenings and weekends are crowded, but its worth the wait. There is a 24lift class right before Yoga and that class is always packed! I think that says a lot about the class. I also know a lot of people really enjoy the zumba classes there too!
All of the front desk and membership people I have met with have been nice! They always address you by name when you check in. Granted it pops up, but it's still a nice touch.
A lot of people seem to be complaining about the people at the gym which to me is unfair because 24hr has no control over the personalities that enroll. Also, a lot of people complain about it being crowded, and well, all gyms are crowded during peak hours. I have found the best time to go is in the morning or after 830.
Overall I think they are a good gym and I hope they stay in business because I think the windward side people would get obese!Listed in: Windward Side

Here's a tip: Dont go around 10am, when the adjoining Subway is baking their first batch of bread for the day. I think the whole building shares the same duct system, so the smell of fresh, hot loaves wafts temptingly through the gym. Damn you, Subway!
The staff is friendly and helpful, but does anybody else have an issue with the "If we've missed a spot, DIY" cleaning supplies? I thought my membership fees went towards paying for maintenance...and more working equipment, for that matter.Listed in: Windward City Shopping Center

Review from Robert T.
As a tourist on vacation, my experience here was five star. I never get to work out at facilities as nice as this when I'm on vacation.
I can see why there is some negative. This is not the best equipment I've ever seen and it's definitely a step down from my 24 at home. If I were a full time resident I might have to adjust my rating.
This place had better kids club hours than any of the 24s in Dallas. This allowed us to work out on a Sunday. I do not utilize personal trainers, but this place was well staffed. I've never seen so many trainers in one gym. All the staff were friendly. The manager was very helpful!
They charge a minimal fee for kid's club. Since this was foreign to me I was not prepared for that and did not have cash. I explained to the manager that we drove a long way and that I've been a member for many years. Wisely choosing customer service, she waived the fee. So refreshing to actually be helped for a change!
I was able to get in some killer workouts and didn't have any issues with waiting for equipment. -

This 24 hr Fitness is one of the smaller ones that I've been to. Much like every other business in Hawaii that I've seen so far it's begging for more space. (I have been to smaller gyms that are located in the Bay Area though)
It's got a decent compliment of free weights as well as machines. Of course the availability of the equipment is always an issue during peak hours as it is in any 24hr Fitness gym. I would like to see the equipment maintained/wiped down by the staff more often.
The treadmills are a bit old. Makes me a sad panda when I end up with error messages cause I tend to really strain them when I push these machines to hard. (i.e. maxing the treadmill speed)
For those that like going to the classes you'd better get there early. The classes seem to fill up real quick like. They have a separate room for spinning. Although this room looks quite cramped and the bikes are in really close proximity of each other.
In regards to the men's locker room... I also would like to see the staff pay more attention to keeping this place looking/smelling clean. I'm not a fan of using communal hot tubs because of reading too many reports on how disgusting these areas usually are.
As for the regular patrons just like in every other gym you'll have your posers, pretty boys n girls, people who reek of cologne, (liek WTF) and women who appear to fix themselves up and not really do much but take up space and equipment. Oh well. Just use some tact and ask them to kindly move along. If they don't then just quietly lay some ancient hex on them and move on. I find that when this happens it'll force you to use some other piece of equipment or exercise that you don't normally do which will do your body good.
The staff is quite friendly as is most of the local population in Hawaii. Such a nice change of pace from most places back in California. Yes I said it and you all know it to be true for those back in the Golden State.
Hopefully I'll get the chance to get over to the other locations and see how it be there.
3 stars for the gym itself
4 stars for the employees -

I am a WORK OUT freak and I shouldn't have to force myself to go to the gym but when I think of 24 hour fitness, all I think of is, "Omg I better get a PARKING spot and a tred mill or there is gonna be a fight up in here!" I shouldn't have extra stress on top of trying to get a six pack and legs of a model!! ughhh ;)
Another minus- Lately the air conditioning has been broken.... ??? Im sorry I just don't understand why it is still broken... It's been over a week! I am not a financial genius but when I do the math, I think about how many people GO and PAY their 40$s or so a month and I think.. hmmm I mean there should be money in the budget for broken A.C. yah think? But hey if it's not the A.C. it's some kind of unnecessary remodeling, adding pictures and what not., things that have nothing to do with the actual conditions of the gym, taking over any atmospheric pleasure of working out!!
One plus+ The HOT men that give u a little smile here or there.... hehe
One minus- The PERVERTED men who rape u with their eyes when you walk through the gym. ughh
One plus+It's the only major gym on the Windward side and has some awesome classes that get your booty going, kick boxing, and cycling are such a GREAT work out. Hip hop looks fun too! I've never experienced though.
One minus- It's the only major gym on the Windward side.... Lets make another one in KAILUA! I know it will motivate many Kailuans to join, pumping up business as well as making Kaneohe folks happier that there gym probably won't be soooo crowded!
I have seen the change over the years and it is getting pretty crazy at this 24 hour fitness, it's one of the smallest but also one of the most crowded! Something needs to change! I am not sure where another gym will fit in Kailua but it's an idea that will most definitely make a huge positive shift in business as well as peoples attitudes about 24 fitness on the Windward side! -
Review from Anita L.
What a dinky location. It looks big but really only consists of one level because the bottom part is used for classes, reception and in-processing.
The machines are old and there are only so many of them. Although there aren't THAT many people there, it just seems like you can never get on a machine because all the better ones are taken. They need to get some new equipment! -

Smoke and Mirrors
At first glance, this place looks and feels very open and airy, but it's only because half the walls are lined with mirrors and windows on the other side. I didn't think the 24 hour fitness by my old house was great, but at least all the treadmills were the nice new ones. This place only has 3 of the higher end treadmills, one of which is half broken, and the rest are the cheapie kind. The only reason I go to 24 Fitness is because it's cheap and convenient with locations all over the place. It's tolerable. -

A lot of the staff there are friendly to everyone. I think that just going there and getting what you can is a big help. It may be a little, but going to Kaneohe there are many people that are there trying to accomplish the same thing. People don't bother you and just continue to go with what they are doing. Sometimes you may think if other places are better, but hey when you even have a Professional Basketball player come there to use the same gym that you go to, then guess what it must tell you something.

Review from Kyle H.
WHY can't they get it together? I've been visiting this gym for over two years and I have resorted to just attending group X classes here because chances are you will not get a cardio machine... not just because it's busy but because there are almost as many broken treadmills, ellipticals, stepmills and bikes as there are functional ones! Even the group X room has its problems... the AC, instructor mic and stereo are all temperamental... at any given time one or all will not be working! The bathrooms are dirty ALL the time, the ones downstairs make me feel like i'm in a beach park bathroom...ew. If it weren't for the GREAT instructors and super friendly staff, I would never come here. It just goes to show you what great customer service and staff can do... make someone who pretty much despises your facility a die-hard regular and actually be the "dutchess" of the place!

The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
It's a nice sized gym, but parking is horrible!!!
Many of the cardio machines need a good cleaning, but on the up side I never need to wait for one.
There are only 2 rowing machines and one of them doesn't work right.
The personal trainers are great but the space set aside for the sessions is awkward. -

was on the windward side one day, and decided to try out their 24 hour fitness. FAIL. it looked and felt really dirty. and the machine that i wanted to use was broken. i also wanted to wipe down the stairmaster when i was done using it, but there were no more paper towels and disinfectant. small kind grossed me out.

I can't decide whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars because there are way too many pros and cons for this particular gym... CONS 1. It's not always clean it depends on the time of day. 2. CROWDED all the time... You would think that at 2 in the morning it would be empty nope guess again... 3. Too many poser's. Whatever happened to get in do your thing and get out... PROS 1. They've put sanitary equipment around the gym so that if some sweaty guy just got done you can wipe his funk off the equipment. 2. Compared to other 24 Hr. Gym's the Staff is pretty nice never had problems with them, YET... 3. If your a Night Owl like I am when you go to work out in the late hours the aerobics area is empty for you to do whatever it is you wanna do like Jump Rope, Shadow Box, Stretch, or do what my wife does and rehearse with her Salsa Partner without having to pay for studio time...

I wouldnt say Im a work out freak but I dont mind coming here, I feel comftorable here. Theres alot of negatives because of the shape the gym is in but the staff is great. The equipment is broken or rusty. Theres not enough equipment. Parking sucks, The last time I was there I got a ticket. I dont know of a lot of other 24 hours to compare it to because this is the first one ive gone to consistantly which is now about 3 - 5 times a week which is alot for me lol.. but I dont mind it, its the closest to home and hey it gets the job dones, and even tho the equipments shitty theres rearely a wait to get on what you want.

Bleh. Not only is the equipment extremely outdated and broken quite often, the clientel here sucks. A bunch of meathead, dime a dozen local dudes hanging out on their cell phones, sitting on equipment, staring down girls. Sucks to work out here. trust me. read the rest of the reviews.

The staff is very friendly, the gym is clean, but the classes are too big, and you can never get into a class unless you sign up 2-3 hours before hand. If you want to save a spot for the spin class you need to come in a month before hand and pay $1.00 per class to reserve your spot. Only a certain amount of seats can be reserved. Why should people have to pay extra money to take a class when I'm already paying over $25 a month to take these classes. I've tried coming in an hour and a half before the spin class starts and there are no spots open. I waste my money every month on this gym but hoping that they will fix their classes and make them bigger to accomodate more people. They don't accomodate people that actually work from 7:30 AM till 6:00 pm. If you are the few lucky people to get off of work by 3:00 everyday then you can make their "good" workout classes. Otherwise...you are SOL.....

this place is ok...the best part about this place is the women that go there!! HAHAHA...nah seriously...the equipment is alright, usually pretty clean, but the grounds isn't too clean most of the time...you can see where they need to vacuum up or wipe down...the bathroom isn't that great (men's) because it smells pretty bad...the showers are alright tho...altho pretty moldy compared to other 24 hour fitness' where i've showered...and the spacing in here sucks, the machines and free weight benches are so close together, literally they're spaced 1 person apart...like one person can walk in between things, and one person only...thats the worse part about this place...oh and the ac breaks down once in awhile...i actually live 5-7 minutes away, but i prefer to workout at other 24 hour fitness' after work in town or somewhere else...the chicks are hot, but which 24 doesn't have hot chicks?? LOL oh and the front counter people here are not that great...they're def. into their own thing and don't pay attention to you, and seem very unknowledgable if you ask them questions...i've been to about 5 different 24 locations on this island...and this one ranks the lowest to me...well second to the lowest...mililani used to suck, but my frens actually work there now, and they say good things so it might have gotten a higher ranking...idk...
oh and im not sure how often they clean the jaccuzzi...they used to do it like once a week, but nowdays im not sure...id expect less cuz they can't even clean the main gym very well...but I could be wrong...
oh and this place is always crowded, and the thing that bugs me, half the people in there are semi working out, semi trying to look good and talk stories! get to lifting, or get to steppin fools!! LOL
all in all, go there on a sunday night cuz it wont be crowded, otherwise, go in town!Listed in: Places to burn some energy

Have been coming here for 3 years. Sorry, but I have a lot of negatives:
1. Old, filthy equipment--how 'bout an occasional wipe down and changing it out?! 2. Overcrowded during days and evenings 3. Rude patrons--I've belonged to many gyms in many locations around the US (including other 24 hour gyms), but wow, I've never seen so many rude poseurs, who sit around on equipment they're not using (making others wait), talking, doing whatever on their cell phones/Ipods, posing and examining their muscles in the mirrors, leaving their sweat gunk on the machines. Don't know whether they're ignorant about basic gym ettiquete or just clueless and self absorbed. Really weird vibe. I also love the sound effects of the guys who sound like they're giving birth and/or bang the weights around. Hey, if I wanted to have some social time with friends, I certainly wouldn't want to be there! I want to do my thing and get out, so I can have some FUN! Staff really need to post some suggestions about appropriate behavior. 4. Parking is a bitch, really stressful. 5. Downstairs bathrooms are gross! Floors and walls look dirty, I feel like I need a bath after going in them. Why weren't these included in the "remodel"? 6. Air conditioning was broken forever, staff didn't keep patrons informed as to why so long to fix and when it would be back online. It seems to take a long time to fix other broken equipment, too. 7. Who chooses the music played overhead? it's awful. So, all in all, it's usually a stressful, somewhat unpleasant experience, but I still go 'cause it's cheap!
Positives:
1. Nice staff 2. Good trainers 3. Classes are crowded but good, very professional, fun, competent instructors. 4. And finally, price is right--I guess you get what you pay for, but I've enjoyed probably 6 other 24 hour fitness facilities and many other gyms, and this is the worst by far, in terms of parking, cleanliness, condition and age of equipment, and bad patron behavior.
