Review from C F.
South Lake Tahoe, CA
Well, coming from a place in which there weren't any gyms, the fact that my long standing and unused 24 Hour Fitness membership is a Godsend. The location is fairly close by, (but I wish it were closer) and the place is in a really spiffy strip mall in North Indio.
The equipment is new, the facility is spacious and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. What's not to like? Currently have only been here twice, though I'm going to keep visiting this gym regularly. Late evening and early morning, there aren't many people around, so I can do stuff without feeling self-conscious. Perhaps when I get in shape, I won't care so much. The lockers are pretty cool with electronic locks and you don't have to bring your own padlock, and the cardless check-in is an added bonus.
Since I'm just starting out after a long time, I'm using a trainer for lifting and core exercises. He even gave some good pointers for the cardio workouts which I made use of. The cardio area has a number of TVs, so walking/jogging/running on the treadmills doesn't get boring. Will update if anything changes, or when I start using more of their facilities. -

ok so I've changed my tune a bit on 24 Hour. This gym supplies everything you could ever want to get all yolked up (not that I'm going for that), healthier, etc.
Lots of cardio machines mean that I never have to wait to get on one. 2 separate areas for lifting weights, an area for core exercises, a pool and a decent locker room.
Staff still leaves a bit to be desired but if you don't have to come in contact with them, you're probably doing yourself a favor. Can't speak about the personal trainers.1 Previous Review: Show all »

So torn about the star rating for this place.
The gym itself is great, spacious, though busy. Some… Read more »

Spent 2 weeks working out at this club while I was in town with my husband and daughter for the holiday. 24 hr clubs can be sketchy and this club is not one of them. It's super clean, plenty of space and equipment. And best of all, Michelle's TKB classes were on point and kept me from suffering the Christmas Carb Death. She teaches a mean class, I loved it and if you haven't taken a class with her, do it now. The kid's club here is well above average; large and well staffed with very nice people who engage with the kids.

This is the cleanest and newest facility I've been to for sure but the basketball court needs to be a little bigger. Corona's location is still the biggest in Riverside County.
It's the only thing keeping me from giving it that elusive 5th star. If it weren't for that ONE hang up, I'd have no problem with giving this place 5 thumbs up. I think a best of both worlds creation is in order; Indio gym with Corona basketball court.
The talent is much above average and the run is decent. The Men's Locker Room is spacious and clean with working sinks and soap dispensers. Even the water fountains pump ice cold water.
But I just can't do it... -

I'm beyond impressed with this gym. I can say I have been to 90% of the 24 hour fitness locations from San Diego to LA. I work in sales and have a huge area I cover, when I get down time, I love going to a gym, which is a reason I went with 24 hour fitness since they are all over the place.
This location is amazing. It reminds me of the Super Sport in Newport/Irvine area. All the equipment is new, there are a ton of cardio machines, and the 4 times I've been there, I've been the only one doing an elliptical, and NEVER had to weight for a machine or dumbbell. The locker rooms are clean, with a good deal of lockers, I have never seen a "out of service" sign, or a broken machine that seems to be common with other 24 hour locations.
I have driven 20 miles out of my way, and look forward to this gym. -

This gym is probably one of the biggest gyms I have ever been to. They have it all. From a swimming pool, basketball court, fitness room with various fitness classes, sauna, steam room, weight area, cardio area, and personal training area.
They even have a day care center. I would give it a 5 star, but I'm a psych major and one thing that keeps it from being a 5 star is the vibe I get from people here. The majority of people keep to themselves and are very friendly if you ask to use machines. But I'd be lying if I said everyone was friendly here. I blame it on the sexual frustration guys from the valley have and guys natural tendencies to be very competitive. They might just be in the zone, but personally feel they should leave their egos at the door and keep their competition in their head. The weight room is a area to compete against yourself and not other people around you.
I wish Yelp was a 10 star system cause I feel the 4 star is deceiving. I'd give this gym a 94% approval rate.
There are also very pretty girls here that love to stare you down. They have a lot of confidence and are looking for guys that can communicate the same amount of confidence. So if you're into finding dates at the gym than I suggest this gym for you if you live in the Coachella Valley.

I go to this gym almost everyday and I absolutely love it. When I first moved to the desert, I did a search on my GPS for the nearest 24 hour fitness and the only one it originally found was the one in cathedral city which is basically a complete crap hole. I seriously almost cried.
One day, while driving, I saw this gym right off the freeway. I got so excited that I u-turned to go check it out (I didn't u-turn on the freeway obviously). It's gorgeous inside.... spacious, clean, full-featured, and the front desk staff is ALWAYS fantastic. I ended up even getting my mom to sign up here.
The best part is there is enough equipment that I never have to wait. I'm picky about my classes because as a cross country runner, I feel like most classes are at about a 2 on the effort scale, but I like a lot of cycling classes and this one is really good. My mom has tried out their personal training and she says that Jason kicks her butt... in a good way.
I highly recommend! -

WOW! This is a nice gym. Really nice. Clean, everything is new and in perfect working condition. The classes are good, the schedule offers a nice variety, and the instructors know how to teach. Oh, and plenty of equipment for all!
I am technically closer to cathedral city - but this gym is so much better - totally worth a little extra time in the car. The members and staff are all nice too! -

This is the best 24 Hour Fitness I've ever been to!
The facility is HUGE and all the equipment is new. I usually go during the off hours (either 3pm or 10pm), but even during prime time things aren't that bad. Even during the busiest times, you can find an open treadmill or two.
The equipment is generously spaced so even during the busy times, you can workout without hitting other people in the head (or getting hit yourself!). Lots of elbow room!
Best of all, the locker room is always very clean! This is BY FAR the cleanest locker room/restroom I've ever seen at a 24 Hour Fitness facility. The showers have individual stall doors and the lockers don't have any signs of break in attempts (a common theme in many of the 24HF clubs I've been to.).
The parking lot is very large and you never need to park too far away. It's well lit and I've never felt unsafe leaving my car there.
I used to live in Palm Desert, so I had a choice between the Indio and the Cathedral City clubs. DON'T GO TO THE CATHEDRAL CITY CLUB IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE! Hands down, the Indio club is the better choice! -

This is one of the better gyms in the valley. All equipment in good condition. It has pool, basketball courts and good child care facilities. Best time to work out is late morning to early afternoon.

I agree with the previous reviews... This gym is FANTASTIC! Staff is friendly, my trainer Joel is exceptional, I highly recommend him. The place is spotless, there is always someone cleaning, sweeping or wiping something down... There is also a full sized BBall court which I love... I pass a number of gyms on my way here... Check it out...

I love this gym. I've always been intimidated by the thought of joining a gym, but I checked out this 24 Hour Fitness location last summer and immediately signed up. It's huge, up-to-date, clean, and all around awesome. The rates are really good and the staff is exceptionally friendly. I really look forward to my gym trips and couldn't give this location a higher recommendation.

Only been here once since I live at the other end of the valley, but I've been to the 24 Hour Fitness gyms from all over California and this is the best I've been to. It's not perfect, but is about as close as you'll ever get.
