This review is just for the GroupX classes, which is what I use most gyms for, anyways.

The Yoga class with Margaret is amazing. It's your typical Vinyasa Flow yoga class, but I just love her instructing. I also enjoy the music she plays; no strange tribal bongos or jarring animal sounds here. Just soothing music, sometimes even soothing contemporary music, like John Mayer or Coldplay, so that I can better focus on balancing.

Zumba gets ridiculously crowded on Monday nights. I prefer the Tuesday night class with Ruby.

Nightclub Cardio with Laurie is also pretty enjoyable. I totally buy into the Zumba craze, but I'm not that big of a fan of the more Latin-inspired music/choreos. Nightclub Cardio is pretty much Zumba with more current mainstream songs. Laurie herself is the perfect instructor, with just enough pep and encouragement, without being overly annoying. She also likes to bring a strobe/disco light, to really get the "nightclub" feel going, haha. The only drawback is that Nightclub Cardio and Yoga are back to back on Wednesday night, so I have to choose one or the other, or else my muscles will crumple from exhaustion in the middle of a pose in Yoga.

Overall, really fantastic instructors! My only gripe is offering more Saturday morning classes and perhaps changing the schedule up every few months. (I haven't had a chance to try out a Pilates class since they're only ever offered on Sunday morning.)

This is one of 24 Hour Fitness' smaller "Active" locations.  The amenities are limited to basically treadmills/bikes and weight-lifting devices.

The facilities and locker room / showers are clean and the parking is adequate.  Equipment is in generally good condition.  This location does *NOT* have a spa, pool, steam room, hot tub, or basketball court.  If you're looking for one of those activities, you should go to the Friendswood or League City locations.

Unfortunately there's not much room for them to expand.  Aside from the Spec's, the other businesses in the shopping center (Handcock's Fabrics and Mr. Gattis Pizza) have been there for over 30 years and seem to do well -- so I wouldn't count on them closing anytime soon and allowing for the gym to expand their facilities and offerings.

They do have a "Kiddie Club" for members who want to bring their kids, and there is a very small "Pro Shop".

a 24 hour gym that is open 24 hours! hehe  Not all 24 hour gyms are open 24 hours fyi! Living down south in league city the 2 gyms i prefer to go to is either the bay area location or the league city location.  The bay area location does offer a lot of classes to take at different times and i like the fact that they have classes on sun morning.  It's definitely not a place to hit up during rush hour when everyone get off at work in the afternoon.  If you like doing cardio then at rush hour you'll be sitting back waiting till one opens up.  So better if you try to go earlier or later.  Rush hour is roughly around 5-7.

I appreciate having this gym close by when i lived in LC but now i live in the spring branch area and the 2 closest 24 gyms to me are not open 24 hours and they hardly have any classes available to take.

Recently, I've found myself in the suburbs of clearlake...what is there to do past 9?  Starbucks?

    EH!

Well I figured working out at a place that was open 24 hours wasn't a bad idea.

This gym is REALLY outdated.  Most of the equipment is literally rusted up.  It does have a group X room in the back by the Men's bathroom, a small free weights area, OLD cardio equipment and what seems like the leftover machines.

But honestly, please tell me if you have something else better to do on a weekday night in Clearlake?!

Worst 24 Hour Fitness in Houston.

Way too many machines broken, sitting there not worked on, still broken, oh well it is never going to get fixed.
The water fountains have all sorts of bizarre colors and mold growing on them - ewwww.
The restrooms are disgusting, like I would not let my pet snake wander around there since she might pick up some sort of disease or leave coated in body fluids that are not mine. Seriously, this is like where truck stop restrooms would come to die. That bad.
Equipment, whether it is working or not, has rust on it as David N. notes.
Front desk workers (save one) are notoriously bad - more interested in texting and just admiring themselves in the computer screens than actually doing their job
It is a Byzantine miracle to get out of this system, I have canceled and transferred my membership three times yet I am still in their system and not in my Midtown gym's system - REALLY? Really.
TVs always tuned to Fox News - are you f*****g serious? Really? Really.
Broken tvs. Of course. Just like the equipment.

How about not just no, but hell no? Yes, let's select that one.

    What a rip off.
Signed up while in Clear Lake for work. Let's just say they're very good at taking money OUT of your account but not good at either keeping a nice gym or, heavens forbid, refunding money. I canceled upon moving to a new job (with a much better gym). Not only did they keep charging but their customer service line gives one story after the next about why they can't refund you. Promises to call back are never returned.
Stay away from this and all other 24 hour fitness centers. They're a bunch of low life scam artists. Find another gym, you can do way better.

uh yeah I have experienced better. The only reason I went to this location is because it is close to the hospital where my mother is. I was out to visit her and I wanted to hit the gym so I went and looked up a nearby location and found this. it was small and not very clean or advanced like some of the others that don't look like they were once some kind of department store that was converted to a gym. It is okay for what it is but i
