This place is definitely a hidden gym. I won't lie given the location I thought it was going to be small, but when I just walked in I was quiet surprised as to how big it truly is. It just keeps going back, I didn't think it was going to end at first haha. I was given a tour of the facilities by the lovely Membership manager (who was really nice by the way) she took me around the gym and showed me all the cool features of the gym, I was very surprised as to how clean it is here. They do a great job at that! I also met a couple of personal trainers who are again very nice, but extremely knowledgable of their profession, and very good at what they do! I love this gym!

Southeast Denver, 24 Hour Fitness - Sport.
You locals don't know how good this 24 hour Fitness is!
I have been to over 2 dozen different 24 Hour Fitness Gyms around the country, and believe you me, I have seen some dumpy ones!
But here, it is quite spacious, clean, and organized, with little crowds.
I came here on a weekday morning about 6:30am, and there was hardly anyone here. I was visiting on business and staying right across the street at the Embassy Suites, and tried to work off some of those business dinner calories in a better gym than the hotel had, which isn't that bad.
The gym has a 3 lane pool, decent size jacuzzi, basketball court, and plenty of C/V machines, weight machines, and free weights. It was about 50 - 50 men to woman, with no hairy riff raff pick-up artists, or bi-polar drama queens, just serious people getting a morning workout.
Staff was friendly. Absolutely no waiting for anything. Just pick out what you want to do in your routine, and do it.
There was space to do abs, but I think this aspect could have ben a little better. Otherwise, I had a great workout here with no hassle.
They use the finger IR security entry here, so no need to bring your card.
PS - being next to Whole Foods, you can easily go next door and eat some healthy food, drink some carrot juice or other healthy drink, along with getting your natural vitamins and colon cleanse for a complete body makeover, inside and out.Listed in: Wanugee! Denver, Wanugee! Gyms

Needless to say, generally I hate pretty much all gyms because the entail 'working out' blah! But I do attend this gym on odd hours, after 7pm and later. I have yet to wait for a machine, delt with a rude person or felt uncomfortable being there. As of the last 2 months of being a memeber, I have noticed that same few cardio machines being out of working order since I started and with multiple 'Representatives' hanging around one of them could learn how to fix it. :)
A hidden secret, I am a fitness instructor at a private studio. The only reason I do take classes here, is just for a different perspective. The classes are all way to crowded. Taking a waiting list yes is annoying but it needs to be done. When people are in TurboKick and it is a tight class, make sure you are aware of your surroundings, it does get dangerous LOL. Zumba class which moves so quickly, bodies are flinging everywhere. So unless you are trying a class for the first time, try a private studio. So many bodies, little air circulation - just is not a fun as should be.
For $20'ish a month and now n' days most companies cover a huge to all percentage - I cannot complain too much. -

So with a tag line saying "I like bacon chocolate" you'd think I wouldn't know the meaning of "exercise". I quite enjoy running and dancing. And in the winters, snowboarding makes me happy.
In lieu of the new year, I thought I'd make at effort at toning up and change up the workout a little. I had a good experience with the 24-hour fitness in San Francisco a number of years back. So I thought I'd check out some gyms out here.
In a nutshell: The guy named Steve has horrible customer service skills. HORRIBLE. They totally lost a membership. All I wanted to do was try it out to see if I like the atmosphere before I locked into a membership. But he made it quite the ordeal getting a free pass to check out the facilities. Would it be so difficult to humor someone who clearly was going to get an all-access pass anyway? The bottom-line: he was more concerned at turning me down than signing me up for membership. Get some manners and learn some people skills, my friend.
One of the most important factors to me is the gym's atmosphere. At the very least, the impression that good old Steve gave me saved me from giving money to a facility that clearly had enough business that they didn't want mine.
I guess we're off to another location. Let's see how they do business there... -

Let's not forget, Yelpers, that the "base" 24hours are the Costcos of gyms- no frills. You get in, get out and hey you're saving money.
While in Denver for the week visiting my fam, I debated between this facility and the newer one on Colorado Blvd. I just needed a quick elliptical sesh', so I got the job done.
Even though it hasn't changed much since I was in high school, the gym was clean and the staff was friendly so coming from the dumpy 24hours in California, this is more than one can ask for! -

I don't like the way this gym is formatted. Go in and walk up stairs? Also, to traverse from the cardio area to the weights, more stairs?

Ever since you could buy 24 Hour Fitness memberships at Costco, I wondered if the overall quality would go down hill. This store, to me, is evidence that it has. The equipment is getting dated, some pieces are really starting to show wear with broken parts, loose fittings, sagging seats and pads, etc. Treadmills that won't start up, heart rate monitors that don't monitor anything, belts slipping, pieces falling off.
My latest pet peeve, 2 out of my 3 rewards for working out, (hot tub, sauna, steam room) have been broken for weeks. The hot tub's jets weren't working for a while, now supposedly they are, but no bubbles. At least it's hot enough, there have been many visits where it's tepid, at best. The sauna works just fine, but watch out when you walk in to the steam room. It NEVER shuts off, you'll be hit in the face with extremely hot steam, to the point of it being painful and a potential law suit. If this doesn't turn you away initially, it's next to impossible to sit on the top step, and I am one of those people that really likes it hot in there, that swings a towel around to get the steam to come down, etc. This is just insanely hot. Not to mention the scalding hot droplets from the ceiling dripping on you.
The management knows all about these problems, has for weeks now, and doesn't seem to be in any hurry to fix them. Maybe the "deal" at Costco wasn't such a deal, after all.
It may be time to jump to a higher end gym, one that actually maintains their facility. -

I LOVE ROB. He's an amazing and influential, motivation, butt-kicking personal trainer. Not to mention, this a widely-spaced layout with tons of cardio machines and strength training weights, both standard and free-weights. Whether you're an athletic, yogi, "Gold' Gym bodybuilder/Arnold S.. just wanna tone/drop lbs, or simply healthy type, this gym has it all. Bosus, bands, cones, kettle-balls, etc are all available.
Staff is attentive, friendly and professional. This place is also clean!! The ONLY downfall is that they don't have the tread-climber. Other than that, if you are interested in joining a 24club that's not "meat-marketish" this is a great one. (Full gym that does have the pool, sauna and Bball court). Oh yah, if you want personal training, see Rob. He's the best!! -

they have an unpainted ramp out front which, 5 months after I twisted my ankle on it, they still haven't painted it.
The managers all blew me off and offered nothing in terms of contacting corporate. The main manager tried to site the waiver we sign in the club as a reason they could ignore my injury.
Hey, the accident was outside the club in the parking lot where the sidewalk is crumbling.1 Previous Review: Show all »

As far as 24 fitness goes, this location is clean, spacious, and has a nice, unpretentious clientele. I recommend this location above all others in Denver! If only the men's showers had some privacy I would give this site five stars... But alas the don't and that is fail!

I enjoy the privileges of my 24Hr membership, allowing me work out out at multiple locations. My home location is Lowry, but this is my secondary location for workouts. Great instructors and I love the pool here too. I think it's a great location and they have the Elliptical machines I prefer, LifeFitness and not Precor. I do wish that they upgraded the TVs, so that you don't have to have a WalkMan to plug in to listen to the television.

the Gym is fine but the new policy that allows Varsity high school kids to work out for free in the afternoons makes it unbearably crowded. Maybe they think they will join up after High School but what about those of us paying today and definetly not in high school?

Went in on a Saturday early noon, not too crowded at the pool/sauna. Machines were a bit more full, but still a few available. Wish they would install a swim suit drier. Overall good experience.

I like all 24 Hour Fitness locations but this one's the best. It's clean, spacious and the entire staff seems to go out of their way to make you feel welcomed to the club.

This gym is big and there is plenty of room for stretching and sit-ups. It's not really different from your standard 24 Hour Fitness but the 5th star is for Karen. She will kick you @$$ into gear and you will not regret it. I have never seen someone with so much freaking energy. I can barely keep up! I will say that I leave there sweaty, sore, and 5 lbs lighter.

Some of the buttons on most treadmill are broke/falling off. Equipment always seem to be not working. Showers are dirty and there is not enough room to place your items when showering. All 24 Hour gyms need major construction in their lockers rooms as they are very outdated. A lot of their personal trainers are fresh out of college and are inexperienced. Oh, and don't even bother buying a Bodybugg if you own a Mac. It's not compatible with Safari. Tech support is ok, but customer service takes 2 weeks to get back to you.

Big gym, lots of room and equipment. The pool is tired and the showers tend to be a bit dirty. For a general workout - good option.
