The club is pristine and a good workout if you do it right : ) The people that work here are so nice and helpful. The only down side is there are only 3 elliptical and 3 bikes and there's a 7 min warm-up limit unless no one's waiting. I like to get more in on one machine, but otherwise, it's swell!

My 16 year old daughter comes with me now, so it's even more awesome. And, you really can't beat the price.

Love this place! I love the circuit concept... it's easy to use the machines and I really feel like I work out my entire body doing it. I was running prior to joining but I wasn't getting a good full-body workout. Since starting here, I can totally see a difference in muscle tone and my running times are getting better.

This gym is always clean, well-maintained, never too crowded, and I can't say enough good things about the staff... they are AWESOME. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful and really seem to take pride in their workplace and clientele. There's a very neighborhood-y vibe here that I really like and I forget that this is really part of a large chain of gyms.

I love, love, love this place and for many different reasons. It's in an open mall, so I can do my errands after or before my work out.

The people there are super friendly. If not after the first visit, at least by the second visit they know you by name. They are always willing to show the machine, encourage you to more than just your best without pushing you to hard and they are really easy to talk to while you work out.

High-tech machines, clean facility and friendly, knowledgeable staff.

I totally love this gym. I prefer this 24 Hour Fit-Lite, to any large gym.  The staff is awesome, they make it their business to know you by name.  Always helpful and give the best  fitness tips ever.............

The gym is clean and well maintained.   If you like "Cleanliness"  this is the place to be.

Conveniently located in a Shopping Mall, where you have the best of two worlds, ( A workout & Shopping after).  Did I mention the Beach is close, yes,  Crown Memorial State Beach is along the boarders of the mall.  You can take in  a walk before or after your workout and feel the Breezzzzzzzzzze.

Your never without a parking space.............too.

I can't believe I'm going to do this... reason being: I don't want to share it b/c it's so spacious!

Second week working out at this place... and I'm liking it more and more. The folks that work here (granted both guys when I came in) were both uber friendly to me so that added / helped me with my work out =)

It is a 30 minute workout deal... some folks follow through, others don't (like myself...) BUT only when there aren't many people around.

Most machines are HOIST so it was a bit weird using it the first time around.

Limited with everything, duh, but it's really clean and spacious for me... plus when I do light weights, I don't have wannabe Hulk / steroid looking guys next to me checking themselves out... Yah!?

Plus, after my work out... I can go to TJ to get food. There goes my errands for the weekend!

    Bing!

I jump on the machine of my choice since it is usually pretty empty, or I can wait a few minutes for the machine of my choice.

    Bing!

I move around the room while I enjoy music and the constant  BING reminder that BING a minute has passed BING and I need to move on to the next machine.

    Bing!

A great replacement for an overcrowded SET or Lift and you are looking to get weights in and don't feel like hanging with the ultra sweaty giants over in Oak-town.

The people who work here are really friendly, they might not pay any attention to you, but come one, that's why we love it!  If you do have a question they are always more than happy to help.

Just a reminder: there are no showers here, so don't come looking for good clean fun, just for a place to get your sweat on.  It's also a little hard to find since it is so tiny (like your ass if you come here often enough) but go between Trader Joes and Safeway by the public restrooms and you'll see the sign.  Have a good workout.

I love this gym!  I started going about a year and a half ago and I don't think I've missed my twice/week routine more than a handful of times.  And if I didn't love it, I wouldn't go!  The staff is very friendly and always remember my name.  The place is very clean and well-maintained.  Parking is always easy.  It's conveniently located in the shopping mall so I can take care of other errands at the same time.

But mostly I can see the difference!  I'm much stronger, have more endurance and just generally feel better.  Working out definitely helps eliviate stress and I've had a rough year!!

Thank you to everyone who make going to the gym a fun and healthy experience!!

So I am staying with family while I interview for jobs and this place is right across the street. I went in to check it out and found an interesting little gym. Basically, the idea is that you do 5-7 min of elliptical or cycling and then go around a 25 machine circuit which includes machines and exercises for every muscle in your body.

The staff was very friendly and gave me a guest pass for free as well as a free training session to teach me how to do the circuit. It's way harder than it looks! I felt awesome when I left - like I had gotten a great work out. On my way out, my trainer gave a me a pass for a free week as well. I've gone 5 times now and lost 4-5lbs! And I keep eating like the piglet I am!

The staff here is very friendly especially one woman whose name I wish I could remember because she remembered mine from the moment we met! I will probably join here when I move permanently. It's $80 to sign up (but they run deals for $30) and $25 a month for this club only or $30 for all 24 hour fitness locations.

I deducted one star because EVERY SINGLE time I've been in someone inevitably smells like the absolute worst BO ever. They need a sign that says you are required to wear deode.

This type of rotational exercise is really impressive. I've never tried it before and I have to say that it really does emphasize a full body workout. The staff is extremely pleasant. One of the workers helped to determine which weights and seat setup worked best for me. I love the individualized care put into it. It's a bit small, but it's definitely worth giving it a go.

I'd probably go back often if I wasn't so lazy. Obviously not fun enough to make me want to go back regularly.

This 24 hour fit-lite just opened a few weeks ago in Alameda. I'm a 24 hour girl, but have only been to the regular Active or Magic Johnson sport ones. I was hesitant going to a fit-lite since I knew nothing about it. However, it's awesome and a good break to do in your normal exercise routine.  They have 24 stations that focus on different parts of your body. You do cardio for approximately 7 minutes on an eliptical, then go to the first machine which works your legs, then the next machine is for your upper body, then your abs, then cardio (on the bike), then back to your legs, then upper body, etc... The best thing is that they play music and there is a 'beep' which sounds after a minute or so, and you move on to the next machine! It's pretty cool and you never get bored cuz you are constantly changing machines.

This facility is pretty small, but since it's new everything is really nice.

It's the Love Hotel of gyms. Short, sweet, and to the point. I like the music volume adjustment panel. Air conditioned. Kind of a ridiculous way to work out, but perfect for procrastinators and distract-o-trons, such as myself.

This place gets 1 star more than it's bigger sister, 24 Hour Fitness Magic Johnson on Alameda Ave. @ High Streets (next to Home Depot).  This little Fit-Lite place is ok and I think i'd come more frequently but I always get distracted and get sucked into Trader Joe's or Safeway or Loard's Ice Cream or Appleby's right after.  Arghhh.  It's not so busy and it's cleaner than the disgusting High Street location.  Eeek!

I LOVE the Alameda Fit Lite!  I've been going to the 24hr Fitness in Oakland, which is a really nice facility, but I LOVE the Fit Lite in Alameda for a few reasons!  My attention span SUCKS, so after I get through the warm up, I know I have ONE MINUTE to push myself on each machine, with them being alternated the way they are, I get a bit of a "rest" in between but still working out.  I feel GREAT after leaving!  I just feel awesome.

I also hate shopping (yep---a woman who hates shopping) but since it's located in between so many stores, I can actually get groceries at either Trader Joes or Safeway or even grab a gift from Old Navy or Mervyn's etc. It makes it SO nice for me, as I hate even getting to a store.

The machines are clean, the staff are awesome and I leave feeling great!  I was a person who knew for a very long time I needed to work out as I sit in a cube on a computer 8 hours a day.  I was so hesitant to even get started, now that I have I LOVE going!

I hate working out... like it kills my soul, but something about this tiny little circuit gym had spunk. I generally like spunk. The staff is always super friendly and helpful- but not in your face- which is a gigantic perk. The music is peppy enough and never too loud. I love the circuit training, because as one of my friends once said, "it's like working out for dummies" It's clean, and THANK JEBAS- it's not a meat market- because I reaaaaaaaaaaaaalllly don't want someone trying to check me out- when I look the most bedraggled.

i just want to start out by saying, i totally envy alameda for their 24-hour amenities.  first, they get the magic johnson sport on high street (yea, it's oakland, but still so close in proximity), and now they get a brand spanking new fit-lite.  they make all other 24-hours pale in comparison (there really seems to be some noticeable flaw in every other one for some reason- crappy old machines; medicinal atmosphere; stuffy; weird odors).  alameda doesn't know how good they've got it-- among other things.

anyway, i wanted to vouch for the fit-lites.  before this location opened, i didn't really know what a fit-lite was; i was just as skeptical as everyone else.  "it's just a really small gym, right?  there can't be much.."  BUT WAIT.  before we get too judgmental here, it's not JUST a small gym.  it's a circuit training system.  it's not meant for you to pick and choose machines and create your own workout.  lemme break it down for you:

    - 24 machines, each working out a different part of your body.
    - start with the bike for 7 minutes to get the cardio going.
    - continue to work out at each machine for 1 minute; some will have you pushing it to the max. (the hydro machines), others are meant for you to go slow and steady.
    - every couple of machines, you'll get back on the bike, to keep up your cardio rate up.

some of the machines are repetitive, but it's intended for you to get a total body workout.  i really felt that it worked my whole body, and i know i'll be sore tomorrow.  oh yea, and i think another major feature about fit-lites, is that they play a continuous "ding" every minute, to help you keep track of time.  isn't that considerate?  the "ding" wasn't on at the time i was there, but i heard it's a pretty nifty little time-tracking device.

the only downside is that, while stating the obvious, fit-lites are small.  so presumably there can really be no more than 24 people there at a time (24 machines) to get a good workout without having to idly stand around waiting for someone's minute to be up.

if you're a 24-hour freak (which i wish i was, but have not been lately), then the fit-lite is a great once or twice a week complement to regular workouts.

i don't work out. i'm too full of excuses to get my ass in gear.

i realize now that this lack of motivation stems perhaps from the fact that i have no idea what the hell i'm doing. i wasn't huge into sports in high school, so lifting and lunging and pressing and crunching don't always come naturally to me.

now thanks to fit lite, i have no excuse. this place is not only fool-proof, it's quick and effective. circuit training gets the job done - and is by no means easy. it's a real workout!

my lackluster yet positive review reflects 24 hour fitness as an organization. they seem to hire complete nincompoops. on my first day i waltz in and ask the girl behind the counter (who was munching cheetos and chatting away on her sidekick) how the whole thing works.

"you just like, go around to each station and do the thing. and then like when it bongs, you move."

now, i'm no nincompoop myself, i understand the whole circuit training thing and don't need some huge detailed spiel. but when i went for a workout this past weekend, a very helpful young lady was working and i overheard her mention that the machines marked with red detail are supposed to be used in an agressive, fast-paced manner. that would have been good to know.

you know why else it would be really, really helpful if the staff paid attention? because people are idiots. literally 80% of the people who work out at this fit-lite have no clue how the gym works. they hop from machine to machine in no particular order, or they stay on a machine for several minutes at a time. during my first visit i experienced a near-brawl as one angry dude with his earbuds in threatened another dude who told him to GET OFF THE BIKE, since he had been training for a triathlon on it for over 30 minutes.

clueless gymfolk aside, i like this place. it's a good fit for gals like myself who have no idea what they're doing when it comes to a weight room at a gym.

The cleaning wipes are readily available, but it's more difficult to get in a work out.  I used to go here everyday, but now rotate between the one near my apartment and the 24 hour near my home.  I understand that some people want to spend more time on the cardio machines even though there is a 7 minute limit on them.  I don't mind this, but I feel bad when there are obviously some people waiting for machines and people stay on the machines for sometimes up to 30+ minutes.  Like I said, I don't think it's a big deal if no one is waiting but if there is someone waiting and they have been on the machine longer than 7 minutes they should finish up and let the next person on the machine.  Usually it's not a problem.  Still go to this gym 2-3 times a week.

I started coming here in October of last year, and I feel like I've become part of a little family. The club is small, but very clean. All of the people are very friendly and take the time to get to know your goals and suggest ways for you to reach them. I go in the mornings, which means I generally work out with the older set, mostly made up of ladies and retirees. The afternoons and evenings bring younger people who are a little more serious (ie they listen to ipods instead of chatting). If I ever move, I will be sad to leave behind my little gym.

I originally gave this gym 4 stars but had to bring it down to two because it just gets so busy! I am not saying I can not deal with a busy gym, I understand, but the way this gym is set up it needs to be patrolled! There are signs everywhere that say move from one machine to the next IN THE SEQUENCE OF THE NUMBERS! I understand that you don't want to use every machine, or you want to have your own personal work out, but at least keep an eye on who is around you. I tried to work out there with my bf and we both left feeling like we got cheated out of a workout because people were in front of us not moving it was horrible. I love this gym when it is not busy and I can enjoy it! But I am someone who likes to work out and get a good workout when I do!

I happened to walk by 24 Fit-Lite on my way to Trader Joe's one day and I noticed their sign advertising a membership special. I managed to sign up for 29.99 per month AND at the time I had to pay NO initiation fee. And as others have said, one of the trainers will give you a free session and introduce you to the circuit.

The location is great. Right next to Trader Joe's and GNC in the Alameda Towne Center. I live just a few blocks away so it is very convenient to go work out on my way home from work or in the morning on the weekends.

True, the facility is small, but it is rarely crowded. I rarely have to wait for a cardio machine to open up. If you want to avoid the crowds, I'd avoid Mondays!

I cannot give the staff enough praise. They are very friendly and always greet me on a first-name basis the minute I walk in the door. They like to engage in friendly conversation (which I enjoy during work-outs) and they are always willing to help you to achieve an effective work-out.

The machines are very well maintained. They are always clean and when something breaks, it is fixed asap.

Most of the fellow gym-goers are friendly and respectful toward one another. The majority are regulars and know how the system works. However, I will agree with a previous reviewer in that sometimes the arrogant or clueless patron will come in and either a) hog the machines-particularly the cardio machines, or b) hop from one machine to the other and screw up the circuit for others. There is a 7 minute limit on the cardio machines IF THERE ARE OTHERS WAITING. I've had to give up my machine for someone waiting patiently when another lady refused to give up her machine (she had been on for 10 minutes longer than I). And I've had a problem with a few people jumping on a circuit machine in front of me, making me have to wait for them to finish. I took away one star due to this issue. Granted, it doesn't screw up my life, but it more of an annoyance and is discourteous to others. If someone is screwing you up due to something like this, tell one of the employees, and they will remind the circuit-violator of the rules!

So yeah! Other than that, this is a great, friendly gym. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't be going 4 times a week. If you are unsure, at least stop by and check it out!
