Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
For the money this is a great health club. Great equipment and a lot of it. Cycle classes I love. Basketball and executive locker room for a bit extra but I think worth it. out door pool with coed sauna and steam.
Staff is good and the Place is clean. -

Okay. I gotta yelp this gym. The reason it gets two stars is because it has a very VERY large outdoor area with a large pool.
Downside is they provide towel service,...yet they don't. Try finding clean towels in the locker room or by the pool,...in the back by the water fountains - not a single clean towel. Not a single one. So come to find out,...they went green which means paying for a Super Sport and towel service and not getting towels. Seriously,....after lap swimming,...I am supposed to walk dripping wet through the gym,..through the locker rooms around ALLL the equipment and go all the way to the front near the entrance/exit to get a towel?! Poo no way!
They are having increasing problems with aggressive and figh prone members. I have been threatened on multiple occasions for working out on an empty machine only to be threatened because it belongs to someone else.
Now to the co-Ed steam and sauna -
Eww. Seriously the steam room smells eww. Also coed rooms don't mean u wander in with your underwear and a towel or just a towel. There is also an issue with people disrobing on the pool deck! Seriously ? REALLY?
I am no prude and have gone to a few nude beaches in my day BUTT take a few moments to walk into the locker-rooms to undress and change.
The sauna is kinda a mess with slivers and rough wood. Bring a pad to sit on.
Funny thing is they have video monitoring everywhere yet refuse to do ANYTHING! People give us dirty looks if I visit or show polite affection to my bf,...but allow rude, violent,..unsanitary and dangerous behavior from others as long as they think they are straight?! Or,....I don't know. Maybe this is the way they do things now.
Teenagers playing in a lap pool horse playing and taking up lanes for lap swimming,...people undressing on the pool deck,....
I am very sad to see what has happened here so far.:-((
I do have to say they are working hard to keep the machines working and the towels picked up.
But this is supposed to be a "nicer" type of gym,.....I expect better behavior from its members but I doubt it will ever happen. -

Nothing deserves a worse review than a place that makes an offer that they completely fail to honor. 24 hr Agassi Super Sport, today you earned that bottom spot.
My girlfriend is a member at your gym and pays your fee every month. She sent me a 7-day free trial pass to your gym so that we might work out together however, you completely declined to honor the trial pass citing that "I did not live close enough" as the reason. Oddly enough, no where does the fine print in the trial offer state that the user must live proximal to any club; it does however state that the trial pass is valid "at multiple locations".
Next, you tried to charge me a $20 single day use fee. After protest, I had nearly surrendered my Andrew Jackson when I overheard another patron state that her day use fee was only $15 because she was there as a guest of another member. When I asked if I was eligible for the $5 discount since I too was there with a member, the 24 hr rep looked like he was out of reasons, excuses, and legal disclaimers as to why he would need me to pay more money and defeatedly replied "sure, I guess so".
Another point to note:
The Kids Club closes from 1:00-4:00 so with kids, we had to cut our workout short (we arrived at noon). The kids also reported that the staff were not very friendly and made them take a nap...the 8, 10 & 11 year old kids were a little perplexed as was I when I learned of their experience.
24 hr, I did read your free 3-day pass restrictions in where the fine print DOES state that the offer is for local residents only, however, the 7-day pass that I was attempting to use HAS NO SUCH CLAUSE.
You failed to know, research or honor this offer and then tried to over-charge me for services. I will never be a customer of your gym and if this review makes even 1 other person reconsider a membership with you, then my work here has been rewarded.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Cathy S.
LOVE the gym and the classes!
I do wish for a few more different classes at the 5:30 hour. Pretty limited.
And a indoor pool would be nice.
Plenty of treadmills and different types of equipment. Haven't waited yet.
However, I do come here in the morning, between 5:00 and 5:30 am - 6:30.
Only downside is the shower area. It is an older gym so, perhaps it needs some sprucing up?
What can I say? It's a normal gym...Listed in: Local Flavor, Working the body!

I just toured this gym. I used to be a 24 hr member a couple years ago and am now a Renaissance member. After having a Ren membership, nothing compares (except Equinox but the location isn't as good for me, nor are their family options).
It was like a big, horribly lit, depressing echo-y box. I can't really see myself excited to go workout there.
When I walked through the women's restrooms, there were no clean towels at all, but plenty all over the floor that did not look soft. You have to bring your own lock for the lockers. Tiny benches that look like they wouldn't even hold a gym bag. No complementary q-tips, lotion, etc that I saw. And the sauna/steam room were connected to the outside part in a co-ed area -- so much for relaxing! I loved the highlight of a bunch of large, hairy men in the hot tub.
For a little over $50/month, I'd rather just run outside for free and do stairs, or keep my ridiculously expensive ($130 for individual) membership at Renaissance -- great kid's world, great staff, clean equipment, awesome pool, just expensive. -

I only get to the gym during my lunch hour or right after work. Unfortunately, this is the worse time to go to any gym so I get stuck dealing with crowds.
Crowds aren't that bad, unless they are gross. Once in a while you will hop on a machine and see that the last person has sweated off two gallons of water and left it on the machine for you. Or, you're in the locker room and there are towels all over the floor and in some of the lockers. It doesn't stop there, there are wet towels on the floor in the shower stalls. And, someone will leave hair all over the floor. Or, the drain will be clogged so you might be standing in a puddle of water. The worse is the bathroom. I'll stop there and warn you to stay completely away.
I will say though, there is a resident maintenance man here so they do a great job of keeping up the machines. There are plenty of cardio machines also, so wait times aren't bad if you do have to wait. I've never had a problem finding a machine. I stay away from the weight area, I do that at home.
In addition to lunch and after work hours, I stay away from the gym during the "I'm going to lose 20 pounds this year" resolution overtake and "I need to look hot for summer" months. These two crowds seem to lack common sense and proper gym etiquette. I know, it makes me sound like a bitch, but I'm there to work out, not to look cute or meet people. And I'm not there to walk on the treadmill at 2.0 while reading People magazine or yakking on phone. -

I only have the regular membership, which does not include use of the Agassi Super Sport 24 Hour Fitness. But I went to see what I was missing on "Any Club Workout" day this past weekend.
For the most part, it seemed about the same as some of the other Sport versions of 24 Hour Fitness, except maybe a little bigger and with towel service. I didn't really see what the big deal was.
But I did like the pool and Jacuzzi area, with its choice of steam room or dry sauna (most others have one or the other). The showers have individual stalls too, which is nice for people like me who aren't nudists. :) -

CORONA DL MAR, CA
This gym is definitely an upgrade from the regular "sport" and "active" 24 hour clubs!!! I like how spacious it is. The cardio machines are well spread out (so you aren't breathing down some complete strangers neck as you're running on the treadmill) and they have alot of machines available I am usually there from 7 to 8:30, and although it is busy, I never have had to wait for a machine that I want to use.. Ventilation is good too...it isn't too hot and stuffy, and it doesn't smell...poor ventilation is one of my pet peeves at the gym and this place definitely doesn't have this problem It's one of the newer locations and even though it is a couple of years old now, everything still smells and looks new! ! Front desk staff is pleasantly friendly for the most part. They have an extensive "group x" schedule with many different classes....I just wish (and this goes for all 24 hour fitness gyms) that they offered more classes at night time, around 7 pm or later, so those of us who work regular 9 to 6 jobs have a better chance of getting to the classes....Something else that I noticed about this location is that the quality of people that come here is positive for a gym atmosphere.. everyone is seriously into their workouts....at some of the other locations it seems like high-school gossip time or after work social hour for college kids with some people just standing around on machines not working out.....but I have never seen that here, which is a major plus.
24 hour fitness really stepped up their game with this location!!! I love it and will keep working out here. -

Aliso Viejo, CA
Good gym. Nice looking people to people watch. Clean & doesn't smell. Literally 1 minute away from my house, so very convenient. Wish there was more cardio equipment, and wish it were in a separate area than the weights. It seems to me like one big warehouse, with everything squished inside. Best time to go in the mornings is as early as possible, like before 7am. When 8am rolls around, that's when all the soccer mom's come in and hog up the cardio equipment. Then 10am on is what I like to call, the meat head hour HAHA! Being a girl, I feel really uncomfortable working out at that time, especially in the weight area. Everything is taken or you don't feel comfortable getting in "their space". Overall, I like the 24 hour fitness at the Spectrum, mUCH MUCH MUCH MORE! It's everything I want and like in a gym!

Love the gym itself, but, like everyone else pretty much said in the previous reviews: their customer service sucks--employees are incredibly rude and disrespectful! Other than that great gym to get all that you want from a workout & fitness facility.

Well I have had memberships at a few different gyms and was excited to join this gym because it seemed nice. I do like the space and number of cardio machines. I agree with some of the other ratings that it looks like a warehouse and doesn't seem to ever get cleaned. I have not once seen any of the staff clean the equiptment.
The staff...at least member services is unfriendly and could really care less if you come in and or join. They are misinformed or completely uninformed. Prices to join are always a mystery and when quoted it never is the correct price. -

Spent the last three years utilizing this gym, good selection of machines and free weights, cardio selection is ok, front desk employees are mediocre except for the night guy Tony, he is the best employee at this location when I'm there at night. Gets kind of crowded at the normal times, locker rooms have been getting worse and there seems to be a lot of high school kids there just hanging out never see them workout but who cares, overall good gym they just need to work on cleaning the place up more often.

Review from Brent G.
San Diego, CA
This is the BEST gym I have ever been a member at. I was previously a member at a standard 24 hour fitness- 'Sport' which was about 25 bucks a month. The sport gyms rarely have a pool or jacuzzi or any of the additional ammenities. I also tried some of the very 'upscale gyms' like the 24 hour fitness- 'Ultra Sport' at Lake Shore Towers in Irvine and some of those other country club-like establishments and I couldn't stand them. It was more designed for business networking and people watching than getting a good workout in. Well then came 24 hour fitness-agassi in Laguna Niguel. This gym is AMAZING.
Pros-
*Great stretching room, very advanced machines that are easy to use and WORK. Particularly the hamstring/back stretching machine, and hip flexor stretching machine. Love it.
*Amazing Outdoor Pool. I love swimming laps here after a workout. There is also a huge spa/jacuzzi that has powerful jets strong enough to get out the worst kinks! Right next to it is the steam room and sauna, all outside.
*Full Size Basketball Court with several other baskets. Not a basketball player, but very cool to have. I know a lot of the high school/teenage kids utilize this.
*Massive amounts of 'cardio' machines- tons of elliptical, treadmills, and bikes. Several versions/styles of these machines to choose from.
*Great free-weight & machine set-up. Tons of machines to choose from, ample dumbbells and barbells, and plently of benches, smith machines, and squat racks. A lot of high-end newer equipment too, like the 'Hoist' Brand of machines that feature a push/pull mechanism to add extra resistance throughout your exercise.
*Great classes! I felt real gay doing this at first, but I took a couple yoga and pilates classes and I couldn't believe how tough they are! I now take some of the pilates classes from time to time. If you get one with a good instructor, it's fun, a great workout, and very beneficial to your core, balance, strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.
*Staff- This is seriously the nicest, friendliest, welcoming staff of any gym I ever attended. They are very attentive and willing to help you right away.
*People- Mostly everyone who works out here is serious about staying in shape and getting a great workout in. While there are also networkers and social-type people, there are way more serious people here that are just here to get their business done and get out. With that being said, the people are very friendly though, I've struck up many of conversations at this gym and made a couple friends from here.
*Price- I believe the current going rate is somewhere in the neighborhood of 49-55 dollars per month. I don't know about you, but in my experience with gyms and membership prices, this is quite affordable and for the gym you get, I think it is a STEAL! In New Jersey where I am from and grew up most of my life, I was paying 49 a month for a gym about a third of the quality/features as this particular 24 hour fitness.
* Ab Machines- I love this one machine it rolls on a track in the shape of a half circle front to back and you just rock back and forth. It is shredding up my abs haha.
* Other things you may like- they have a daycare, smoothie cafe, and handicap accessible heated pool/jacuzzi, towel service, a bathing suit dryer!, clean showers and locker rooms.
CONS-
*Like ANY gym, between 430pm-630pm this place is packed. It's packed, but yet you can still get in your workout without having to wait TOO long. I try to go times other than these 2 hours as it's a known thing that most people work out right after they get off work.
*You get the few mindless idiots like most gyms in OC that refuse to put back things where they are supposed to go, i.e. 35 dumbells in the 15 lb. db slot, or people who take 1 dumbbell to the other side of the gym to do concentration bicep curls and never return it back to it's rack. HOWEVER, the staff and normal-minded gym members all chip in to combat the lack of manners, etiquette, and common sense this select breed demonstrates.
*You have to strategically pee in the Men's urinal so that you don't get backsplash. I can't stand these american standard brand urinals lol. They have 1 that is built for a midget and only 1 other for a typical sized male. I wish they would change out the urinal type to one that allows you to pee freely without worry of having stuff spray all over your leg. lol.
I can't think of any other cons seriously, this place is a gem! Highly recommended! -

Irvine, CA
The sole reason for my lower rating has nothing to do with the facility. I do enjoy working out here that being said I really think this place could be better managed.
I had an issue with how this facility was handling the indoor cycling class which I enjoy taking at 24hour. Tried to contact the club manager three times, left messages and my calls were never returned. Terrible!
If you were to compare this to say Equinox it doesn't come close. And you don't need the membership upgade there are other 24 hour clubs which are better managed. So save the extra 20 bucks a month for towel service... -

It's a clean gym, lots of equipment and machines so even at peak times it's only a short wait. Towels provided for you.

Aliso Viejo, CA
For the most part, I like this gym. Even when it's crowded, I'm usually able to find a Stairmaster or wait a few minutes for a piece of equipment I need. It's clean and they have towel service. The only thing I find lacking is paper towels and Kleenex. They have really weak hand dryers in the ladies' locker room, and if you need to blow your nose, you have to go into a stall.
The actual people that work out there can be amusing. I've never seen so many coordinated outfits and perfectly styled hair at 5:30 in the morning. And that's just the guys. -
Review from Andrew M.
Laguna Hills, CA
I have been a 24 hour fitness member since I was 12 years old and this gym has some of the worst staff! Besides Todd, none of the employees greet guests or say good bye. Guest service 101: make eye contact, smile and say hello. 24 hour fitness should really invest in customer service training for their employees. It's not like they have a lot going on at the front desk (folding towels all day). I feel great after good hard workout but their staff annoys me and is often times the worst part of my day.
Also, I can't tell you how many times the mens locker room has run out of towels. I've always wondered what people do after their shower and there are no towels. I always bring my own because they are rough as sand paper and people use them to stand on while changing so they don't have to stand on the nasty tile floor.
This gym is nicer because it is newer but all you are really paying for by upgrading is personal showers with doors that close and amenities that are not as good as they seem (soap, towels, guest service, etc.) -
Review from Ian N.
Los Angeles, CA
This place is sweet, especially if you love to play basketball, and want to play a good pickup game. For them to have an indoor hardwood full-court, , it makes the basketball experience better, especially for playing late, late at night.
They also have an Olympic size pool with multiple lanes, I don't swim much, but seeing it makes me want to swim.
I go here really late and stay till really late. I see the clean up crews clean and mop the whole gym, so I very well know that this place is clean. Unlike other gyms, where you feel like sweat is everywhere. Just disgusting.
Also this whole gym has a really clean locker room area, with LCD TVs mounted everywhere. I also really like the body wash/shampoo they have in all the shower stalls.
Everything is solid, and that is why it gets 4 stars from me. If there was a sweet lounge area and wireless internet, this place would get the full 5 star rating. -

I moved here from the East Coast where we have some pretty amazing gyms.....Agassi Club is nice in appearance but lacks the classes of other Super Sport Clubs......not sure what the company was thinking.....I paid a premium to belong to this club and find myself driving to Active clubs in Irvine to get better trainers and instructors......I would not pay the extra premium to belong to Agassi Club......they had a good plan but somewhere in planning it got lost. Try Renaissance fitness from word around town.

Overall an excellent gym.
Consistantly clean and great staff.
Excellent selection of equipment that is state of the art.
The bathroom could be cleaner. Often dirty and wet.
The place can get very busy where there are no parking space during peak hours. Cardio equipment breaks often and takes weeks to fix. -

Aliso Viejo, CA
It's big, it's spacious, it's CLEAN, there's plenty equipment with no lines, an outdoor heated pool, saunas, jacuzzi, basketball, smoothie bar, and the daycare has DDR and a wii!
I haven't tried to the classes yet, but I've got my Yoga mat ready to go!
Unlike most gyms, this place actually has a friendly staff. When I toured the gym, the sales guy didn't even lay on the typical pressure so I didn't feel like I wanted to join only because I felt forced. I once had a sales person I had met at a Ballys run into me at a restaurant a few days later and continue with his sales pitch!
So, for the most part the place is great. The only negatives I can think of are rather minor, such as; I found an ugly hair extension stuck to the shower wall. They use cheap body wash (bring your own) For some reason most of the women there douse themselves in ugly perfume, and the daycare person is elderly and quite hard of hearing.
If you go, just remember to wipe your butt mark off the thigh machine thingy. Thanks. -

I love this gym! There are so many equipments and things seem clean and spacious. The staff so far seem friendly. I was hesitant and afraid of running into pushy salespeople but that was not the case.
I am so glad I picked this as my main gym. I'm happy and it actually is open 24 hours and so is the pool! Yay! I'm a late night person so this is really great. Check it out if you're thinking about joining. It is worth it. -

Being a gym dork for over 20 years I've been in my share of slums to super expensive swanky all you can imagine gyms. After looking into all other gyms within 10 mile radius for the price this is a nice gym and in my opinion best choice. Spacious, newer equipment, and clean. The cliental varies in all ages and sizes, surprisingly coming from Scottsdale a lot less roid heads out here....which is a nice change... everyone in Az over 40 seems to be on testosterone replacement therapy of some type. This club has about a 90 to 10 percent male to female ratio though. That to me is surprising being southern Cali and all, but I'm guessing most the women in the Laguna area are working out in their own 5000 sq ft gyms at home with a trainer named Antonio. So in summary it's a nice gym and has everything you need for a great workout unless you use the gym as a dating hub.

This gym is not upkeeping their equipment.
Some of the cardio machines run noticable rough. Some of T.V.'s on the cardio equipment are broken. The earphone jacks on many of the machines are not working at all or aren't working 100%.
I have repeatedly (and nicely) notified them and they have not fixed them. I would give it another star if they respond as it is one of the better gyms in the area. -
Review from Ike P.
Laguna Niguel, CA
The condition of this gymn has steadily deteriorated for the last 2.5 years that I have been a member. With any facility of this size and level of usage, the excercise equipments are bound to get broken more often, which is to be expected. However, what I am most concerned about is not the keeping up of the equipments, but the level of hygiene in this place. I use this place almost everyday and at various hours, and I have only ever seen one cleaning lady, wiping down the equipments in the exercise area. I have never seen anyone cleaning the changing room while I am there. I am sure it does get cleaned, but how often? The towels provided don't seem to get washed properly. Are they saving money on detergent?
It's a geat venue and location, and it's real pity that the management allows the facility to deteriorate this way. -

San Clemente, CA
I joined this facility to swim. The pool itself is great, with many lanes. The problem is that it's not kept clean. Although they clean it weekly, most swimmers don't shower before getting in the pool. So there's lots of hair and other unidentifiable debris under the surface. Not fun or sanitary.
Also, there are a lot of pre-teenage kids that use (ie splash around, not swim) the pool, use the jacuzzi after they've come directly from a steam room, dripping with sweat, etc. They really need someone who understands hygiene to supervise the pool area.
They don't limit membership apparently, so it's often very crowded and even difficult to find a place to park. -

Aliso Viejo, CA
Definitely a great gym all around. I agree with everyone else's comments so I won't repeat what has already been said. Like all gyms, I hate that it's super crowded between 5-7:30. I actually still find it quite crowded up until about 8pm. After that the masses start to leave and it dies down. I choose to work out late night to avoid the mess of people.
I wish the Sauna stayed opened past 11pm (just one more hour till 12 and I'll be golden).
One of the reviews below cracked me up. To the guy that actually took the time to review the Men's urinal and his back-splash issues, you are a true yelper my friend. TMI, but thanks, I'll be sure to be careful. -

I have been going to 24 hr for a while and this gym is pretty cool. I have been swim a lot lately and their pool is fairly clean and a great place to relax.
Other things that I have appreciated are the yoga classes (olivia is great), the stretch room and that there is always a machine available.
I also had a nice personal trainer here and have had great experiences with their trainers in the past.
I think that the best thing about 24hr is that you can get great deals if you wait for them. I paid for a 3 year plan in the past and now I only pay a $49 annual fee and $10 a month for the super sport upgrade. -

Best 24h fitness in the area! Open, spacious and fairly clean! Two things I specifically like about this gym are the dimmed lighting in the separate stretch room and the towel service! Wish they had paper towels and hand sanitizers in more places around the gym, after all it's hard to walk too far, No? :)

Ladera Ranch, CA
Probably the best gym I've ever had a membership at. More expensive than the regular 24 Hour Fitness but far, far less weirdos to deal with here.
Tons of cardio machines, even more free weights and a nice selection of weight machines. They also have a huge list of fitness classes for free along with a basketball court and Jr. Olympic size pool. The pool itself was why I joined, with double the amount of lanes at regular 24 Fitness clubs. No Speedo for me though...
There also is a dry sauna and steam room outside by the pool. The locker rooms which have flat screen TVs for viewing, are very clean and towels are provided to the members.
I've always gone here in the morning. So for me, it was never overcrowded but the few times I went in the afternoon, it does typically get busier. Plus, the morning people come to work out instead of "hang out", you know what I mean.
Overall, a great gym with friendly members and helpful staff. Definitely worth the extra money.Listed in: Guy stuff on Yelp

Great gym. Good location. The gym is planted in a shopping center with plenty of parking (an issue at other gyms, especially during rush hours). There's a basket of towels waiting for you to pick one up in the front; snatch one and use it to clean your dampness from the machines, please. There's some elite membership you can purchase, but the only perk is access to a separate locker room. I've been going here for 6 months and the number of people I've seen use the separate elite locker room is a whopping ZILCH. Just bring a lock and the regular lockers are free for stowing your stuff.

it's not perfect, but it gets the job done. i upgraded from active last year, almost doubling my cost (i live right in between the 2 gyms) but i wanted access to a heated pool and more options on classes, etc. i've taken kickboxing with danielle and rosa, who are both pretty good...and cycling with sonny, who is very personable (i liked his music mix and asked him about it and he offered to burn a cd for me, and actually followed through :)). parking can be troublesome sometimes..i've had to park at ralph's and walk over but it's not too far. staff is pretty friendly...one time i was 1 minute late to a cycling class i had already paid $1 to reserve, and the employee was nice enough to let me reserve another for free. the smoothie bar has $2 smoothie of the days, and a rewards card. the bathrooms could be cleaner.
i'm not always in one place so i like the fact that 24 is everywhere..and it's less than half the cost of rennaissance club sport, even though i was impressed by the luxury of that gym when i did the 3 day trial. i think the 24 instructors are way better though. -

Wow! This place is nice! It's also very kid friendly! The day care area is the best I have seen thus far in any other 24 hour fitness. I don't feel like I am going to a meat market when I am there -- then again I have seen some girls looking like they are going to hit up a club afterwards. I love the fact that they have an outdoor pool because you can lay out in the sun afterwards. I can spend ALL day here if I wanted to, there is so much to do! I haven't tried the classes yet so I can't comment on those, but I am sure that when I do I won't be disappointed.

Its an o.k. Club. If you do not agree with the middle eastern lifestyle of spitting and snorting all over the shower, pool, spa, sauna, etc. areas, then it could be difficult. It feels like a Turkish bath, were manners are left at the door. And yes, most people are Orange County or mostly Iranian, Afghani, etc., which means, you will not get a Greeting out of them, even if you go there for years... So all in all, the staff is good and friendly. A little slow on cleaning up towels in the workout area. Keep it up guys...

This facility is definitely better than the regular 24's and the Sports, but it doesn't compare to the high-end facilities like Lake Shore Towers or Equinox. It's super crowded between 5 and 7 every weekday, so avoid during those times if possible. Lots of the treadmills have broken TV's and broken book shelves, which I wouldn't expect at a Super Sport. Towel service and equipment such as the bosu balls are a nice upgrade from the ordinary 24's.
