Upscale diner experience at its best. Great friendly staff, modern but retro vibe, fantastic menu. Being 24 hours is an added bonus. Pretty pricey - hotel restaurant prices are always inflated. I think it's worth it. Free wifi - ask Luciano at the bar for the username and password.

Keep in mind, I realized this was a shaky experience after a long night on the Strip. My only focus should have been by grilled cheese (with pesto that was nearly overpowering). But they served... grilled cheese. And they gave me more french fries than I could finish which may have been the first time in history that happened.
There was no service to speak of. Even flagging people down didn't work. They charged a group of 4 auto gratuity... which doesn't really make any sense unless you take into account that they would have gotten a bad tip because they did almost no work at all.
If it's 3 in the morning, give it a try. If you are sober (not just think you're okay to drive) head over to Norms where the food is cheaper and you don't feel like you need to put on a show to eat a sandwich. -

The best time to come is at night: the mood lighting is awesome, the booth seats are really comfy, very fun for people watching (ppl going into/out of the purple lounge), service is good, and the food is AMAZING.
My two favorite dishes are the standard burger and the chicken torta (i think that's how you spell it). The portions are very filling and those two dishes are phenomenal. Their sweet potato fries are TO DIE FOR!!! Every time I come to the standard, I order the sweet potato fries. As a side, it's $6. The chicken torta is $12 and the burger is $14 (both come with fries). Might sound steep but the portion is perfectly share-able, so grab a hungry friend and chow down. You will not be disappointed! :)
FYI - around a certain time (i think after midnight), they tack on 18% to your bill regardless of how many ppl are eating. -

Spiked Milkshakes and open 24/7. Located in the Standard Hotel on the Sunset Strip, this is the place that you find yourself at 3 am with a group of your friends and one of them is falling asleep at the table.

Bland bland bland!
Hummus bland. Mussels missing flavor. Steak had a weird taste to it. Calamari, no flavor. Where's the salt? Please pass it over.
Good: It's open 24/7
Bad: The food!
Final: Do yourself a favor and go to the many eating establishments within a ten minute walk of this place. -

We're leaving The Purple Lounge (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) and since we're hungry and walking through this diner anyway, might as well grab some food. It's diner food so it's just okay...but I think 24/7 food spots are always rated directly proportional to the amount of partying you did before you got there. And in the case you want to continue your party, they also serve alcohol.
The waitress was incredibly nice and attentive. The hummus plate, a salad, and a breakfast dish was ordered and all were good. I wish they offered hummus plates and alcohol at the 24/7diners in SF...or maybe I'm just not going to the right places =/
In any case, interesting to sit, eat, enjoy your company, and people watch as the Purple Lounge shuts down. Some being walked out by their friends, some stumbling out on their own, some so cool they look as if they just arrived, but all are seen in a much brighter light after dancing and drinking all night. heehee -

Fantastic breakfasts made from the finest ingredients. My go-to place in this part of Los Angeles. The toasted bagel and smoked salmon rivals the best ones in New York. The fish is perfectly cut and silky in mouth feel. The poached eggs and crispy bacon and toast is a perfect rendition of Denny's at 3:00 in the morning, only with farm fresh eggs and organic items in place of the usual greasy spoon. The granola and fruit also rocks.

Not only is The Standard a great place to stay, the hotel restaurant is a great place to eat.
In the 5 times I ate here, the food was always good, coffee was always fresh and staff was always welcoming and helpful.
The design of the place, in keeping with The Standard's "hip-meets-1960's-design" is great. I love the old diner feel of the place and the way even the staff has costumes. There are great lighting fixtures and plenty of natural light.
The food is pretty damn good. For breakfast, I tried the Two Eggs with home fries and toast, Eggs Benedict (with some of the best hollandaise sauce I've had), Pancakes (with FRESH berries), Huevos Rancheros (which is high up on my list in my never ending search for the best HR), and their deliciously fresh-squeezed orange juice. All of these breakfasts were exceptional. I had no desire for anything else.
For lunch, I tried their Beer Battered Fish Tacos. They were excellent. Fresh tasting, crunchy and tender fish with just the right amount of pico, cabbage and chipotle cream sauce. Their Seared Tuna salad was also great.
Service at the restaurant or on the pool deck is friendly, helpful and fast. I had a few different waiters during my stay and they were all wonderful.Listed in: Notable Huevos Rancheros

Los Angeles, CA
Meh. I think that is the perfect response for this place. Went here on a Saturday during lunch and there were maybe 2 or 3 other tables with people and definitely a whole lot of wait staff. I was not impressed with the menu. When you go to a place that is basically a diner you expect selections. There were not many here. Plus, for a vegetarian you basically had to modify the main ingredients out of the meal, get a pizza or eat a heavy breakfast.
I tried the eggsadilla which is basically a quesadilla but with eggs. I also tasted the french toast made with brioche and honey marscapone cheese. Nothing out of the ordinary. I figure I could have went else where and had better food.
I know I am not an ice person really...but it seems like they don't like ice here. We got bottles of water (on top of white sparkling sangria..eek!) and they were barely cold. My friend asked for a glass of ice and the waiter couldn't handle two things at once. He basically stopped serving the rest of the table because of it. Odd I know.
There will only be a next time at this place is friends say we have to go there. -

Past:
When I was young, stupid, (horny) and had money, I used to tip the guys here simply because they were so good-looking. This was back in 2004-5. Couldn't tell you about the service or food.
Present:
Now that I've wised up and started paying attention to what counts, I've been coming here for about 6 years now and even though the menu changes a couple/few times a year, I usually find something to like. We usually show our faces around the dinner/overnight menu time and start with the mac & cheese. I swear it's been different every time we order (with no specifics on the menu notating anything different) but it's sustained its 'goodness'. The chicken quesadillas are not currently on their menu but those are really delicious, so try them if they put them back on. Burger isn't bad either, worth a try if you're in the mood for it.
As for service, it is sometimes spotty, but there is a sweet blond girl who usually works the overnight shift-I forget her name-but she is very kind and attentive. There is also a hot guy named Jason (?) who is very friendly and has been there for years (at least since 2004). He loads up my cocoa with whipped cream and additional marshmallows, which is one way to my heart...WIN.
The only thing I am disappointed by is the awesome s'more pie dessert that is no longer being served, but I'm sure I'll find something new. Maybe.
Future:
Please bring back the s'more pie.
*Make sure you get your valet ticket VALIDATED; it's FREE from 6am until 5pm. This is currently on their website, but you may want to ask valet/your server just to make sure. -

I went here for a quick bite to eat before making a few rounds on New Years Eve.
The food wasn't bad. I ordered some vegetarian sandwich thing - whatever bread it came on, was the best part of the meal! The seasoning on it was delicious!
The drinks were ok. My friends seemed to like their food. The prices aren't bad for a Sunset Strip restaurant.
I'm not sure if I'd go back again or not, I wasn't "WOW'ed" by anything. -

I had a truly awful experience at 24/7 last night. My opinion is that the menu is too small and the food and drinks are overpriced. ($12 for cocktails at a diner? I understand it's the Sunset Strip, but please.) Here's what happened:
My friend and I ordered the hummus plate and a side of sweet potato fries. The food was fine, but unremarkable. Our waiter literally never returned to our table (although he WAS around; behind the bar and putting place settings at other tables). We were two of perhaps twelve people total in the restaurant, so it's not that he was busy with other tables. We had to flag down two other waiters to ask for more ketchup and then to get our check. When we finally received our check, we had been overcharged on our drinks and the sweet potato fries. We notified the waiter of the mistake, to which he said, "Oh yeah, our system's been doing that lately." I don't buy it. It took about fifteen minutes for the mistake to be "fixed." (We still got charged $2 extra for the fries, but I paid it because, frankly, I wanted to get the hell out of there.)
If you like being overcharged and ignored by the staff; check it out. I will not return to 24/7, and I suggest you don't, either. -

THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD. At all.
I don't think I've ever given anyone a 1 star review... Until now!
Heres the dilli-o: Went here with 5 peeps for dindin. When we got there at 7:30 we were the oNLY people in the place. *bad sign #1
We ordered the hummus and pita appy. The ONLY decent thing we experienced. It wasn't amazing, prob was one of those costco store bought thingies, honestly. But the Pita was warm and good.
Between the 5 of us, we had: steak salad, veggie sandwich, pesto chicken, fish tacos, and chicken and veggie salad. Let me save ya'll some time and just say we barely could eat this stuff. I ate the chicken out of my salad and thats it. The dressing was some orange mayo texture goop that was just gross. The "veggies" were like mush. I couldn't tell if it was over cooked veggies or pieces of fat from the chicken. Swear. My poor friend who had the veggie sandwich was Sh*tting her brains out all night after because of the grease or something. Poor girl. The fish tacos went practically untouched because they were, "just NOT good." We were surprised my friend ate so much of her steak salad... her reason, "It was disgusting, but I was literally starving."
To top off the experience, we ended up being charged $15 each for Valet. Even though we just ate at the place?! When we called, the guy on the phone said if you eat there, valet is only $5. Woulda been nice!
All in all, I hate to say it, but you couldn't PAY me to go here again. YUCKO. Sorry Standard, you're sexy and all, but this place blows. -

Listen. 24/7 doesn't even exist in LA. I eat here all the time because I live nearby and it's a lifesaver. When I get home at 3am and don't want to cook, I can just walk up the hill and get some eggs - it's not very expensive... Eggs, Potatoes, Toast - $7.
People ought to be less critical of diners.
I'm not a vegetarian, but there are vegetables on the menu. You can look at it online here:
http://www.standardhot...
This menu looks like 1/2 the stuff on it doesn't have any meat. Maybe if you're a vegan... No, not even a vegan should have a hard time eating here.
I also thought the burger was pretty good.Listed in: My Neighborhood

As the name suggests, you're getting standard American fare here. It's a bit pricier than Denny's, $8 for oatmeal and $3.50 for an iced tea, but the food is decent. Not great, just decent. For $12 you can order "The Standard" which is two eggs, three pieces of bacon, home fries and choice of bread. The home fries were rather spicy which was a surprise.
Service was attentive enough. Oddly enough, tables are set without knives. Once breakfast was served, I had to flag down our server to get a knife which was brought promptly once I asked. -

24/7 Restaurant in the Standard Hotel has saved me many nights when I need to eat late at night.
They have actual good food that you can enjoy eating. It is a limited menu but all good for late night.
The atmosphere is comfortable, clean professional with a full bar and decent wine list. Nice also to lounge around before going out to other bars on Sunset for the night as it looks out on to Sunset Blvd.
The four stars is for the quality food anytime of the night and comfortable lay-ed back atmosphere. -

I love this place and have been going there for years. The menu changes and that's not always a good thing, as I miss some of the items they've cut. The drinks are very good and the food is top notch. I love the burger and the Vietnamese tacos. The chicken sandwich is a great lunch dish. I've never gone there and not had the fries. The wait staff is normally very nice. The lighting is perfect and the decor is hip 50's modern. The parking is expensive if you're there after 9:00, but I usually find a spot on the street.

I used to come here during my lunch hour... then they changed the menu and i lost my boner.
I used to order the mac and cheese... you could get it done 4 different ways (truffled, baked, something, something).. not anymore.. . And options on sizes on the sweet potato fries.. yea thats gone too.
I'm a big fan of sweet pot fries... but they they have some weird syrupy glaze all over them.. i'm not saying that's a bad thing.. its just weird. makes for stinky fingers.. who wants to use a fork?!
Anyway.. the menu change made it lose a star... foods not bad.. it's also not great. Service is pretty good and its never packed... prices are ok too.
They do serve 40's of Colt 45... now that's gangster... -

Popped in on a Sunday night to have dinner and check out the upstairs bar. Guess what..., I wasn't disappointed. Every one there was in a good mood, people were having fun..., singing and shit...., it was almost too good to be true. Had the Bacon Pizza..., yummm: thin crust..., check! goat cheese and crem fresh..., check! carmelized onions and bacon..., check! and arugula- nice touch. The Sky Bar was super cool too..., atomic age furnishing with waterbeds and a pool..., and all that surrounded by high rises. Definitely worth the while.

Review from Evan L.
A late-night, somewhat-last-minute restaurant decision was arrived at by some friends of mine who suddenly became keen on introducing me to an underrated burger in West Hollywood. We arrived at The Standard and spent a few minutes whispering jokes and insults under our breath about the girl in the glass cage located in the lobby of the hotel. "Does she get any bathroom breaks?" "How much do you think she gets paid to sit there on her laptop?" "Who do you think she's Skype-ing with?" and so on, and so forth, until we realized that we had come here to eat and not to demean a young woman with a stupid job that probably pays her way more than I make at my normal 11-7 day job.
The interior of the restaurant is simple, clean and more importantly feels comfortable. As a born Jersey boy I appreciated the high-scale take on a typical nighthawk hangout. We grabbed a booth near the entrance. There were only two other tables filled at the time of our arrival. A few more folks came and went during our stay, including some people who were just looking to get into the club that apparently shares a bathroom with 24/7. The club was dead that night. The waiter mentioned that it used to be the hottest spot in town but it's calmed down some in recent years.
The menu was filled with intriguing choices. Everyone had drinks except for me. One person ordered a "Starburst," and another ordered something with jalapeno in it that tasted fantastic. We started with an order of white bean and roasted garlic hummus. I only had a few bites but I liked it. My companions agreed.
One person ordered the classic Italian pepperoni pizza. I had one slice and it wasn't that impressive. The crust was the best part and yet it wasn't really that good. The sauce was bland. The pepperoni didn't have much of a kick. It's not the worst pizza I've had in LA but it's not something I will order on future visits to 24/7.
One person ordered the vegetarian portabello sandwich and I did not taste that. It was highly regarded by the person who consumed it.
One person ordered the grilled cheese. I had a few bites and it was very good. Lots of cheese and a solid pesto, too. Perfectly cooked toast.
I ordered the burger. It's described as natural beef, lettuce, tomato on a challah roll with your choice of cheese. I opted for cheddar. It arrived, open face, and when re-assembled it looked quite impressive. An initial problem is that the roll was too big for the patty. Bun-and-toppings to meat ratio is paramount to burger goodness, people! You'd be surprised how many LA burger joints commit this cardinal sin. Still, taken as a whole, The Standard Burger a pretty tasty sandwich. It's obvious little attention has been paid to the toppings in relation to the meat and "quirky" bun choice. The cheddar wasn't anything special, and tomato and lettuce are hardly innovative ingredients. Still, the patty itself was cooked to a perfect medium rare and it was well-seasoned. On its own, the challah bread was fine, but I don't think it is the right bun for this burger. All in all, it's a fine option but I can think of a few places in WeHo that I would visit before I return to 24/7.
For dessert we had the warm apple, almond and mascarpone crumble. That was -- for me, at least-- the highlight of the meal.
The service was fantastic and the price was reasonable. Our little group spent a long time sitting and talking, and the server was very attentive the whole time. We were not left alone or ordered, empty water glasses in need of being filled. In fact, our waiter was friendly enough to spent more time than is required chatting with us. Very cool.
Four stars for the ambience, service, dessert, and that mixed drink with jalapeno. The burger was three stars (run of the mill) and the pizza was a bit worse. I'll come back and try some other menu options someday soon. I want to take a crack at the yummy-sounding egg dishes on their overnight menu. -

good, basic comfort food. i split a burger and the homemade ravioli with a friend and we enjoyed every bite.
although the deliciousness was a bit overshadowed by the sight of the ginormous bug on the draperies. lucky for us, we flagged down a passing busboy, who ran right over and squashed the bastard with his bare hands.
he scurried away to wash his hands but had to return to pick up the carcass, which had fallen on the floor. i just hope he washed them again after that. -

This cafe has cool mod diner decor and their menu has a good variety. Service can be slow but who cares? The people are chill. Food is good and it is open 24/7! The girls in my group ordered the salads and the Cobb and Chinese Chicken Salads were chopped up making it easy to eat. The French Fries were Awesome! The Sweet Potato Fries drizzled with honey or syrup was Sweeeet! I did not care for my lemonade but the Sandwiches looked good too. Good vegetarian options as well as desert menu. I'm giving it a thumbs up!
