Best coffee in all of Edwardsville and well beyond.  Their bread is the freshest and best artisan bread around.  Once you have bread from here you will wonder why you ever put up with that chewy garbage from the supermarket - you know, the ones in the artisan-looking paper bags.  You'll never go back to those.

We also ordered a chocolate ganache cake, a carrot cake (during Matt-the-coowner's birthday month)  and a chocolate sheet cake.  All were to die for.  The friends that had the cakes were beside themselves and had no idea it existed until then.  One even had a wedding cake emergency and 222 came through for them, though I don't think they do wedding cakes per se.

Get the Tattoo Blend coffee.  You'll thank me for it later.

And whatever you do, don't ask Matt if they have glazed donuts or sprinkles or something dumb like that.  That crap is down the street.  This place is for cherry birdhouses, almond pastries, those incredible salami and cheddar croissants, and Adam Bombs.

Go.  And go early.   I promise you will be hooked.

this place is tough. i find myself torn between quality and convenience...how selfish, i know. first, the bread and pastries are absolutely the best in the area. 222 is in edwardsville however, which is a hell of a trek. as such, even though i love it, it's too far away. furthermore, they are popular and run out of bread. so im conflicted. i love the fact that they're great, but seriously, i need to call ahead of time to save anything. then again, it's great that they run out and nothing goes to waste. i think they just need a good businesses angle and start distributing in stl. mix the above factors together and BAM, you get  a 4.

Love the goshen coffee beans that they use! Its so smokey and amazing. Definitly the best coffee in e-ville! Their scones are kind of bland though. The rest of their pastries look amazing! Had their lunch special, tomato soup & grilled cheese. It was so creamy and the sandwich was very cheesy! Loved!

I've been to Goshen a few times and have never really been swept off of my feet.  The coffee itself is definitely the best part about this place. It actually has flavor (and that flavor isn't burnt). Other than that, the pastries are hit or miss and the ambiance is nil. Service is friendly enough, but not quite on par with other coffee shops.
