Really a great place. The food was wonderful, perfectly cooked, presented in an artful presentation - but in no way pretentious or ostentatious.  They have a casual atmosphere that also loans itself to being dressed up - you can wear jeans with a nice shirt or dressier.
The chef really knows what they are doing. Perfect little amuse bouche to start your meal and fresh palette cleansing sorbet just before your entrée. Lovely!
Ship cocktail was chilled and the cocktail sauce had just the right amount of kick. My pepper crusted tuna was cooked perfectly  - cut like butter -- with a little wasabi cream sitting on the most amazing tart cabbage slaw! Dessert includes a Lemoncello Cheesecake - YUM!!  It was clear their food, including desserts, were made fresh!
Service was very attentive and fast. This is a BYOB.
Definitely hit this place for dinner!

HOLY COW!  I can't believe that you foodies have missed this one!

I can understand why - it has a small sign and is part of a larger building.  2201 is on the front, on the first floor.

AMAZING FOOD.  I have eaten here several times and I have been impressed every single time.  It is small and lovely.  Perfect for a business lunch or romantic dinner.  It is under new management, but I don't know for how long.

    Here are my top picks:

Soup pick: Roasted Tomato - Fresh organic tomatoes with blue cheese crumbs & smoked bacon.

Salad Pick: Seasonal Baby Greens Salad - Baby greens, asiago cheese, grapes, poached pears and walnuts with white grape vinaigrette OR Spinach and Pine Nut Salad - Spinach, pine nuts, orange wedges with warm brie dressing finished with a puff pastry twist.

Sandwich Pick: Smoked Jalapeno and Pancetta Burger - Eight ounce hamburger seasoned with smoked jalapenos, onions, apple wood bacon, grilled tomatoes and baby greens, espangole sauce on a brioche roll with chef's chips.  (This would probably make my list of what to eat on my final meal on earth.)

Lunch Entree Pick: Forest Mushroom Risotto - Shitake, maitake and portabella Mushrooms served with a white truffle oil and asiago crostini.

Dinner Entree Pick: Honey Glazed Lamb Lollipops - Six petite lamb lollipops drizzled with a honey glaze de viande served over vegetable cous cous

Service is what you would expect of an upscale establishment.

Danced between four or five stars on this one. Likes: lovely wait staff and the chef came out to say good night to us. The bread was fresh and they kept it coming because we did finish off the lot in each bread bowl.  BYOB and they kept pouring for us and insisted on it, once again great staff.

Lovely decor, warm atmosphere and amazing desserts, I had the apple caramel pie and my friends had the peanutbutter... the peanutbutter was the best I have ever had.

Salads and entrees where pleasant but could of combined the flavours better. So many risottos on the menu, cooked perfectly but slightly bland and for the price you expect a little more. That being said overall a great evening out and this is my new local favorite for an intimate dinner of two. GREAT DATE VENUE.

I've seen this place advertised and took my fiance out for dinner last night and it was wonderful. If you have an occasion to splurge this is a great place.

It is a small space so I'd recommend reservations and though I didn't have them we were graciously seated right away. The pecan crusted sea bass and ravioli dish was one of the best things I've eaten. I'd personally recommend the limoncello cheesecake if you save room for dessert.

Classy, intimate restaurant with some exceptional dishes and flawless service.

As other reviewers have mentioned - try the roasted tomato soup and my lord don't forget the peanut butter pie. Heavenly.

I also really enjoed the spicy Thai soup, a delicious firey broth with mussels, shrimp, onions, tomatos and noodles.

Our entrees for the evening included the pecan crusted chicken and crab cakes - both were delicious.

I've got to say the overall experience was excellent, I mean this really is upscale dining with impeccable service. I certainly recommend 2201.

I took my mom out for her birthday dinner here and was very impressed with both food and service.  I work and live in the DC area and have a chance to eat at plenty of nice restaurants there.   2201 would definitely be competitive in DC and would get a return visit from me.

First off, it is a BYOB which I love because I enjoy wine immensely and usually end up buying the more expensive bottles so that I can get what I want.  This usually adds up quickly after wine is marked up at a restaurant.  BYOB is a definite plus.

I am sure everything is good, but I highly recommend the roasted tomato soup and the lamb lollipops appetizers,  The sea bass was also good, but I confess I had to eat it the next day because they do not skimp on portion size and the appetizers were too delicious to leave anything behind.  Of course, we managed to save room for the creme brulee dessert and it was worth it.

Service was outstanding.  They were always available yet we never felt interrupted.  I can't say enough nice things, so you must try for yourself!

It is a cute little place. Dinner on a week night was not that busy, so service was very attentive. The food was okay, nothing really wowed me. Risotto was good with heavy use of cream and cheese.

2201 is one of my favorite all-time restaurants, and has filled the void in my life that was created when the Empire in Carlisle closed a few years ago.  I have yet have a meal that was anything other than spectacular.  Presentation, the originality of the fare, and taste is superb.  The wait staff are attentive and many are from James on Market (another sadly defunct restaurant).  The restaurant is very small, so I strongly recommend reservations.

My parents live in Harrisburg and we have eaten here many times.  The food, service and ambience are excellent.  The menu has been the same since opening.  Changing to a seasonal menu would make it a 5 star choice.

Fantastic meal last night with friends.  I had the sea bass with caramelized onion, and spinach quinoa and it was fabulous.  Started with the roasted tomato soup which came highly recommended on this site.  It was very good, but not great.  Maybe it was just the expectations.  The lemoncello  cheesecake was very good.
As it is a BYOB the wine was exceptional.
Price for entrees are a little steep but when you factor in the savings from BYOB and that they need to recoup some of that lost revenue it is pretty reasonable.
The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is the first course selections.  Just nothing terribly imaginative.  All were quite good but somewhat mundane.
