Imagine a quirky Pinkberry that also sells meat and crepes. That's 22 Happy Cups.
I've been here twice.
I tried the bulgogi both times. $8 for the standard, add $1 for brown rice. You get rice, a bunch of raw salad greens, carrots, and the bulgogi, which is sweet, marinated beef. I liked it a lot. It's simple, but good. I imagine that if you work in the area or are frequently there, it's at least an interesting alternative to the typical lunch.
I tried the frozen yogurt once: plain w/ strawberries. It's similar to what you'd get at Pinkberry or Red Mango, but I liked the yogurt here a bit better (can't put the finger on why, exactly). Also, I think 22 Happy Cups has a wider variety of toppings. For example, they had mochi, which is a kind of gummy rice cake (I had to ask). They also had matcha powder, which I didn't try, but I'd be curious to because I love matcha tea. -

Okay, I admit it, the quirky name drew me in. If the cups are happy, then logically, I can safely predict that I will walk out happy as a result. Astounding logic, I know. Work with me here.
A colorful hand-written menu on the giant chalkboard by the door features a sparse but eclectic selection of coffees and teas and a few sweet and savory crepes, including an interesting Asian inspired one. There are $6.95 lunch specials with tea or coffee plus a specialty crepe, which sound like a solid deal to me. As if drinks and light crepes in a cute cafe weren't enough, you can opt to skip right to dessert (I know I'm guilty of this) and choose from their frozen yogurt station at the counter.
I already knew I was doomed as soon as I felt myself being dragged in by the slightest magnetic tug from the sheer CUTE factor of this cafe. There is a brightly lit open space with long tables where I could see myself nestling down with a sketchbook and anything, or everything, from their menu. I think my logic has held up fine. Happy Cups, Happy Melissa. Life can be pretty simple after all.Listed in: Reasons I'm glad I don't work…

22 cups of what?
Though this place is 22 cups I don't know how many are full or empty, this place has only seating for about 10 cups not 22. Had the Asian crape, basically full of grass and some meat, It is interesting and cool at first but then later on it gets old news. The crape is not that filling and you leave and get hungry in matter of minutes.
Though I would probably just come here for desert and have lunch and or dinner at another place. The one thing I did not understand is when I came back on a weekend around 8 30 the kitchen closes at 9 seriously on a sat? So based on that I don't think I would come here for other then desert. -

Yes! These people can make a really decent cup of coffee... If you're tired of acidic-overpriced coffee that you have to put together yourself at the dirty counter..and be charged $1.25 for...
Or if youre tired of that microscopic little $2.25 cup of acid from "City Bakery"...
For only $1.50 you get a medium sized coffee, they fix it for you with cream and sugar if you want. No line to wait on in the morning (at least when i go in) And they smile, and chat, and its great...really great. -

Better than Red Mango and Pinkberry - comparable taste but a wider selection of flavors (which also change daily!), as well as crepes (sweet and savory), coffee and tea. Truth be told, I have not gone for anything but the frozen yogurt (favorites are peanut butter, wild berry, and straight-up original) but even without indulging in the rest of the menu, I can attest to the quality of this place. Only complaint is that the topping selection is less than stellar (more geared towards "health food", i.e. cheerios and granola, than I would like).
22 Happy Cups isn't meant to compete with the higher-end gourmet ice cream shops/gelaterias (I'd still go to Grom or Ciao Bella over here if I needed a real fix), but vs. the Tasti-Ds and Pinkberrys it more than holds it's own. -

at least this spot is no longer red mango... that place is the worst!
i got the non-fat wildberry yogurt, and it was good. just good. the price was OK. the service was fine. i have no complaints but there's really nothing special going on here.
i also sampled the peanut butter yogurt and it was great, but alas, too fattening.Listed in: Flatiron Fabulousness, fro yo hands in the air

The crepes drew me in!
I wanted a small snack and this was perfect. I was contemplating this or Chick Pea next door but this place looked more inviting. It's a Korean cafe with frozen yogurt, coffee's & teas, and crepes. I stuck with the standard Strawberry & Nutella crepe and a Latte. They made my latte with milk and added the sugar for me. My crepe was organic (don't ask me what this is, it's just what it says on the Menu) with fresh strawberries and a little Nutella (I would've preferred more).
The place has some counter space along the windows and a small picnic communal table in the center. I sat down and they delivered my crepe to me when it was ready. There's a chalk board on one wall with their menu and country style decorations like boxes, crates, pots, and etc. around the cafe.
It's inviting, cute and country like with friendly service. Looks like it might be family run too. I support it full on! I heard this used to be a Red Mango. -

i stumbled upon a window that said 22 happy cups in
it's bitty font. i thought, 22 is lucky number of mine
(the numerical date that of which my ma was born), plus
happy cups sounds cute and enticing. plus it was effin' cold
and my body wanted heat and my foot was giving up.
the food tasted fresh, the veggies were pickled, kissed
with vinegar in a good tart and sweet balance. everything
was the right amount of crisp and crunchy that makes
you feel satisfied with the salty choice you made.
i didn't have dessert or coffee, but it seems like
their frozen yogurt stand was ready with toppings
for anyone willing to match their appetites with
outdoor temperatures.
so in i went where i found a small counter, a large table
filling up the whole room and tall chairs bar-style, some
staring out into the window that the cold passer-bys.
i ordered the lunch special vegetable rice bowl for roughly
$8. the other options of the same price included a shrimp
crepe and bulgogi rice bowl. it takes me awhile to
stack up trust to just buy meat anywhere, especially
when you are talking korean beef of any kind, so the
vegetables and rice were the easy option. it arrived
quickly and as a nice portion.
the interior is small, simple, modern, and pleasant.
the service was family-run and korean owned which
helped me enjoy my meal a little bit more. sure, i could've
made this dish but i was in the city. for a fairly priced
meal when you are surrounded by chain spots
and a nice place to read 22 happy cups is the
humble choice to make. -

I've only been here once, but that's enough for me to try to place again.
Was looking for lunch on a dreary cold day and came across this place and tried the Korean lunch special, Bulgoki Rice. It was very good. Very Fresh and tasty.
I see the place is more yogurt and Crepe Friendly. i'll have to give those a try one of these days. But the lunch special is VERY good.
I'll update the review when i get a chance to taste more of the stuff available. -

Stopped in for lunch looking for the usual Korean flavors of a ba bim bop but was surprised by how different it was. I've been to countless Korean restaurants all over the city and was a bit put off by the ba bim bop. The rice was cold - what gives? There were salad greens in it - never seen that before. There was Avacado too - another first for me. The pickled stuff was OK but the greens really took over the dish and being cold didn't help.
The food was fresh and it tasted good, just not what I was expecting. -

After obtaining the Clipse's Til the Casket Drops for $9.99 at Best Buy (bam!) and hustling a street vendor for two hats, it was an absolute necessity to continue the day of slick deals. It was lunch time and had to enter 22 Happy Cups. I ordered the $6.95 Korean beef crepe mixed salad lunch special with a Coke, non of that diet nonsense...this is Korean beef we are talking about! I was instructed to sit down and my meal would be brought to me. This isn't LA where that's more normal, this is the city...I was quite surprised and find it real commendable. Three minutes later my food was brought to me at which time I was sitting on a stool window side. The crepe came with soy sauce and hot sauce. Now soy sauce really isn't my cup of tea, but I can lean with and rock with hot sauce. The beef was on point and complemented the salad real nice. The hot sauce was on the mild side and was a good mix with the crepe. While eating I felt I had a special connection with the people of New York. I saw many people stop and look at photos of the food that was posted outside this establishment. My friend and I made eye contact with these people and encouraged them to come in. Now they may have not heard what we were saying, but I think we gave them reassurance to spend their dollar here. Lesson learned is Koreans not only make the best revenge thriller films, but they also make some pretty damn good crepes as well. Word up.

very friendly service and certainly tasty treats. I'm proud to be a regular in this cute little joint. DOWN with starbucks and pinkberry and any other unworthy adversaries. 22 Happy Cups for life!
