The employees make this place my favorite location.....I love that most people don't realize this is actually the ORIGIONAL one, the old one on Indian Hill and Arrow is the one that moved to the village. This one has been here since the start. Yes its smaller and not as snazzy, again its the origional.
Plus they have A&W rootbeer night which is great with mallows mixed in! -

Nah, don't like it. Yes they have a lot of flavors but the ones I have tried are just not that great.
The fruit flavors are very fruity, like frozen fruit, and they melt very very quickly. If it is hot, by the time you pay it will be half melted. Its more like a sherbet than yogurt.
I'm not particularly fond of the long waits, made longer by mix-in service (why?),and there is no place to sit.
Plus the Claremont organic-vegan-hybrid people annoy me when they take 7 years asking the ingredient list in Every Single Topping and if its gluten-free. Sorry. -

Their yogurt is so good! The animal circus cookie is my absolute favorite. I like getting things that already have the mix-ins, but you can choose your own if you'd like. The customer services is outstanding. One time they didn't have the flavor I came in for (which was advertised on their website) so they ordered it for me at their store in the village (for free) and gave me vouchers to come back another time.

The employees were super nice!! And the Ice cream was BOMB!
Have only been here one time, but we will definitely be returning! -
Review from Tammy T.
Pre-mixed flavors change daily and there's usually a good variety (fruity flavors, sweet/chocolate/cookie flavors, and a vanilla). 21 Choices Frozen yogurt is more like sweet soft-serve ice cream than the trendy froyo shops (think PinkBerry, Yogurtland). You can choose to add toppings but I'm usually satisfied with the flavors of the day. This is the place to go in Claremont if you're looking for a soft-serve ice cream treat (other alternatives include Bert & Rocky's for classic old-school ice cream and Yogurtland for the more bitter yogurt-like fro yo). (3.5/5)

I always get a stomach ache after I eat here. Nonetheless, I continue to give them business. Oatmeal cookie is the best.
I enjoy this place in the summer. -

The concept of mixing things is a good idea but the flavor is not that great. It's like four or five flavors of frozen yogurt and you get to mix in toppings like cold stone... But the flavors of the yogurt is not very nice. It's like $3.25 for a small (pretty big) and $.75 for a topping. The service is really good though.
I gt the Kohula Coffee flavor but it felt like iced coffee.. It wasn't smooth how i like it. It's all icy.. Not my style.. -

5 Things to note:
1.) Their flavors are more sweet than tart
2.) Can't decide? Sample all, then create a combination of multiple flavors :)
3.) You can mix in toppings, but the yogurt is super good as-is!
4.) The "small" size is big! They also have a mini cup.
5.) Friendly service.
This was a fave of mine when I was an undergrad...We used to get coupons for a free small fro yo! I was back in Claremont recently and happily returned to 21 Choices. It did not disappoint!
Fun memories + Good fro-yo = Five stars! -

Decadent. Delicious. Tends to be less crazy crowded on summer nights that the downtown location in Claremont. They have 8 flavors or so each day. Some really fun, delicious stuff. My favorites were lemon cookie bar and a peanut butter cup one (forgot the name, but lots of peanut buttery chocolatey flavor in a vanilla yogurt base). Then, there is the option to get any topping you can imagine from any candy to any fruit folded into any flavor. They always have a chocolate and a vanilla flavor. One of the best fold ins is vanilla ice cream with strawberries and bananas. This place is awesome! Too good!

I loved 21 Choices in Pasadena and when I found out there were 2 locations in Claremont, I had to try them both. First stop was the one on Foothill Blvd.
Compared to the 21 Choices in Pasadena and LA, this place was SMALL. There was a shorter list of toppings, too. I really liked their blueberry muffin fro-yo flavor and ordered it with Nilla wafers. What a great combo! It tasted just like blueberry muffins, but with some crunch. -

I stopped here with a couple of friends of mine. It wasn't amazing, but they have all different types of topping and yogurt choices, which is nice.
The price is my only concern otherwise not to bad for a Yogurt place. -

I love the fruity flavors at 21 choices. They are soooo much better than yogurtland. The only complaint I have is the pricing. Seventy-five cents/topping. I can buy a whole candy bar for 50 cents....I usually don't even get topping though because the yogurt is so good. If you have any complaints about powdery flavoring like in boba milk teas, i would recommend 21 choices over yogurtland.
21 choices changes the 5 or 6 flavors they have daily. They alway sonly have one fruity flavor and I always like it the best. -

One of my most favorite undergraduate past times!! Whenever there was a doubt of what to do, 21 always pulled through. A dependable place to endure your cravings are completely satisfied. Even if you didn't even know you had one I'm sure 21 could satisfy that one too. With flavors changing on the daily makes you twitch in anticipation to be on the look out for some of the favorites!! (circus animal cookie, chips ahoy chocolate chip and the list just goes on and on.) If you are just passing through on the 210 this is a great place to stop, stretch those legs and get blood sugars back up!

First off you got to check out their website before going because theres a new 6? flavors every day.
Luckily with 2 21s in Claremont thats twice the choices for me :D
I dont know why they bother with the mix in station. You guys aren't Cold Stone and most of your yogurts come pretty well packed as it is.
My favs here would have to be circus cookie and the marshmallow gram cracker peanut butter (its a mouth full I know)
This location isnt as big or nice as the new one in Downtown but its just as good.Listed in: Screaming for ice creaming, Fro Yo

My friend Co took me here, claiming it's the best frozen yogurt in Claremont. Oooh watch out!
It was raining, and there was still a line out the door. Awesome. I had the vanilla with strawberries mixed in, cause I'm unique and it represents my moral purity. It was pretty good, not overly tart or fake tasting. They serve in biodegradable earth-friendly cups as well. The guy who took our order gave me the "Gay look of Acknowledgment." Yes, there is one. It's kind of like a "Ah, understanding!" You'll know it when it happens. -

I never met a flavor of 21 choices frozen yogurt that I did not like.
With 6 choices available each day, (Vanilla and Chocolate staying constant), every visit is exciting because of all the new flavors to try.
Now that the 21 in the village has opened, this location doesn't seem to get as busy as it used to, which is really nice when I remember having to "pick a number", and wait in a line that goes out the door.
Chances are you've already given 21 a try, and if you haven't...here are a few reasons
Tons of Flavors to love like:
Banana Creme Pie
Kit Kat Brownie
Pineapple Strawberry Paradise
Tons of Toppings/Mix-ins to dream about like:
Caramel
Nutella
Cookie Dough
Twix bars
*21 gets a special place in my heart for buying organic and using compostable/biodegradable cups/spoons
...I am now inspired to make Eco-Friendly, (i.e. local grown, organic, biodegradable, etc) my criteria for 5 stars. -

I've been coming here since back when it was located on Indian Hill & didn't take credit cards, and I even worked here briefly, as did probably 50% of Claremont High students. Some tips:
-You can favorites like Circus Animal Cookie & Oatmeal cookie whenever you want! It costs a little extra, but have them mix vanilla yogurt in the machine (not the tabletop) with the toppings - circus animal cookies, sprinkles and cookie dough for Circus Animal flavor. I always liked getting things mixed in the machine to create my own flavors.
-Switch it up and try a shake or a banana split. Me and my boyfriend loved sharing the banana split (a banana w/ 3 flavors & 3 toppings, plus whipped cream & a cherry). And I remember a delicious Oreo shake hitting the spot after my wisdom teeth got pulled.
-If you don't like melted yogurt, they have the "hard pack" variety, usually in chocolate, vanilla, and tart. On a summer day, half hard pack half normal yogurt and fresh strawberries mixed in on the table is perfect.
-If its your first time, try all the flavors!
I miss not being in Claremont anymore and having to suffer with only Yogurtland and nothing to satisfy my craving for yogurt. But, I don't miss working there - being constantly reminded its "Yogurt" not "Ice Cream" and "Choices" not "Flavors." ::big smile:: Who could ever think this place had anything to do with a certain number of flavors ;) ? -

I'm reading over previous comments, and I didn't know that they had spoons that change colors! That's sooo cool!
Anyway! On to my review...
If you're in the mood for creamy frozen yogurt that tastes more like ice cream than it does tart yogurt, this is THE place to go. Although my tastebuds scream, "TART!" when I have an itch for froyo, I do prefer 21 Choices over Golden Spoon.
One time, I got chocolate yogurt with strawberries. Delicious..!
Another thing: There's ALWAYS a line out the door for 21 Choices (at least for the times I've gone.) -

This is the store where I first experienced fro-yo, casting off the shackles of ice cream addiction forever. Now there is only one creamy delight for me. I will love 21 choices forever, or at least until the earth is struck by a giant meteor that causes temperatures to rise and all fro-yo to melt.
Every day there are six new flavors (a variant of vanilla, a variant on chocolate, and four tart/sweet concoctions) and tons of toppings to mix in. This place mixes your toppings in more a la coldstone than pinkberry. Also, the fro-yo is much creamier here than most other places. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
There are two 21 choices in claremont, for a total of 12 flavors each day. You can check their website and decide which site you want to visit. If you see the circus animal flavor, eat that business up, it's delicious.Listed in: Fro-yo O C

I'm a 21 choices addict, I really love this place.
For each night of the week, they have 6 new and unique flavors. Every night you will find some form of vanilly and chocolate, the other 4 vary greatly. Usually they have 1 fruit flavor and a couple of sweeter ones.
To find out which flavor they have, you can look them up online, where all the flavors for each of their stores are listed.
(Now that there are 2 locations in Claremont, I usually check both stores and figure out where I want to go....)
Anyway, there is also a wide variety of toppings that they mix into the yogurt upon request. Some of their flavors already have some toppings included in the mix so a lot of times you don't need a topping.
The staff at 21 choices is great, it's very nice to come there, both for the yogurt and for friendly service. They are always helpful & happy and eager to offer a free taste of the flavors of the day.
9 out of 10 times, 21 choices is our choice when we're in the mood for frozen yogurt :) -

i love this place! I could say some of the best variety for yogurt anywhere!
go to their website and check out the choices first before you make the drive. there is another location honestly, right up the street that has an entirely different menu to choose from. whatever sticks out, go to that one. i chose to review this location because i had my first experience with 21 choices here.
anyway, the yogurt choices are always really good and when you add a topping of your choice, it gets even better. i also like how the choices change everyday so you always try something new. this location had less toppings to choose from than the other one by the university, but sometimes the yogurt is just good enough that toppings are not needed.
the prices can be a little steep when it comes to yogurt. it is definitely no 30 cents an ounce like yogurtland but you won't find this kind of unique variety their. i would say for a small cup with 1 topping will run you around $4 to $5. that is why i do not come here as often as i would like.
i would say if you are in the area, try this place out and see the magic that is 21 choices. who knew such a little town had such big variety....for yogurt :) -

I have become quite the regular of this place since my first review. Why do I get so excited about them?
1) Their flavors are consistently the most wildly creative and well-executed of all the yogurt places I go to. There's something endearing about finding little pieces of texture and toppings in your yogurt, like bits of Oreo, mini chocolate chips, or real strawberry fragments. And this is directly from the soft-serve machines, as I haven't tried the marble slab mix-ins.
2) They have the most friendly, enthusiastic employees I've EVER encountered in the food or retail industry, which means both their company culture and hiring practices are spot-on. It's not a phony friendliness, either--these are people who love people!
I'm really impressed.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Claremont, CA
I love that this place has been around for so long! I remember back in the day when I was in college, and they were at their old site on Arrow and Indian Hill with their old chalk board and retro music videos...
They are such a staple to the community, and their quality has remained high over the years. I love that they change their flavors on a daily basis, so if I go several times in one week, there is always something new on the menu! -

21 Choices does a mixing type deal where they have 6 choices of yogurt, and you can get the yogurt plain or mix it with as many toppings as you want, INTO the yogurt. I kind of wish they had ice cream as well, but their frozen yogurt is really creamy and as good as ice cream.
Although their frozen yogurt is very good, it's really their staff that kills me. I don't think I've ever dealt with friendlier staff than the ones at 21 Choices, and that's a huge plus. I also like that they always have fresh fruit out to mix with the yogurt. Plus it's cheap! -
Review from Jena S.
If you haven't had yogurt here you are severely missing out.
Once upon a time I came here after trying the chains of new posh yogurt and fell in love. FRESH fruit. Great flavors. Amazing toppings.
It's disappointing that there aren't more of them beyond Claremont.
If you are ever in the area making a Donut Man run, you won't regret the extra stop to chase the sweetness. -

Best thing to do is visit the website and check what the premade flavors of the day are gonna be. Chances are there's gonna be one that sounds good to you. And it will be. They're good at that. I find them to be MUCH tastier than anything I try to customize.
I don't like the smoothies

I have been a huge fan of 21 Choices before the frozen yogurt craze and before I even knew about Golden Spoon. I love this place because it's not a massive chain that only cares about taking people's money. I love 21 Choices because:
1) Their menu changes every day except for two flavors: chocolate and vanilla. They have a website and you can see the different flavors of the day.
2) The different flavors actually have mix-ins in them (i.e. Twix or bananas), so that saves you the extra charge for mix-ins.
3) They are generous with their portions; you can get a small and share it with a friend.
Oh 21 Choices, how I love thee. Too bad there aren't any in San Diego. -

When I started school, all my more experienced classmates gave the resounding cry of "Try 21 choices! it is excellent!"
They were right! Being from the midwest, I'm a Dairy Queen blizzard lover, so how could getting the same thing custom-made and yogurt-style not be delicious? Sure, it's not as healthy with the mix-ins, but you can get it plain too. They have a wide variety of flavors, and generally this is about as cool as it gets for a hang-out in Claremont. Definitely recommended for a great dessert! -

It's good. But not GREAT.
Hi my name is Lara and I am a sweets-addict (*Hi Lara*). I am obsessed with frozen yogurt at the moment, and since I just moved to the west coast, I am determined to try all the frozen yogurt places in the greater Claremont area.
21 Choices is pretty good if you don't like natural tasting yogurt, and you want the really taste the vanilla-y flavor (or any other crazy flavor concoction they have for that matter). I personally like REAL frozen yogurt, and prefer Pinkberry or Swirls in Ontario with fruit on top.
Truthfully, they do have about a billion choices though! -
Review from Sparky H.

A national treasure!
The yogurt flavors are awesome, and the mix-ins are terrific. They kind of pioneered mix-ins here; now the world and his brother offers them, but 21 Choices been doing them the best and the longest.
But the best part is the staff. They are relentlessly friendly, out-going and cheerful. They really want you to be happy! -

It boggles me as why there are two 21 Choices in Claremont? I feel blessed. Anyways, this has got to be the best damn froyo I've ever had. I love all the unique flavors they come up with. The best one I had recently was "Animal Circus Cookie." Geezus, it knocked my socks off! Excellent quality froyo and fresh fruit (although frozen). Love the space too! Small but quaint.
I definitely recommend this place! -

With all the new yogurt places out there, this little joint is still my favorite. Their amazing daily mixes are just some of the best flavors, and with the ability to make your own and add such a variety of toppings, it's totally worth it.

Been here 3 or 4 times ... Everyone working here is so insanely nice, energetic and detail oriented, it could be a scene from some nostalgic '50s movie, or the template for some future kinder, gentler, more sincere world.
