So, it was 3 days before my wedding and I realized I had forgotten about getting waxed, OH NO!!

I live in Mira Mesa and there are a lot of places that do waxing but they only do the face. With internet research I found 20/20.  There prices seemed reasonable and they could fit me in that day YES!

I got my underarms and bikini area done.  It was actually quite painless.  The girl waxing me was quick, and we all know how important that is!!

My only complaint is that they would not do my legs as they said the hairs were not long enough which I find to be untrue after asking around.  I think the real reason was that didn't have time.

That said I am going back, appointment booked.

Recommended for quick, almost pain free waxing!

I got a facial here... and it wasn't very good. After going to a place in SF (see other post - Change of Seasons Skincare), I realize that this place is pretty half-assed. I don't think the person who worked on me really knew what they're doing or was that well trained in the field. She did extractions and it made me look horrifying! AND my skin didn't get better as time went on, unlike the facial I had at another salon where my skin actually has improved each time. At this place it seemed like she just washed my face and rubbed toner and lotion on it. This place also did not do microdermabrasion in the facial (for the price I feel like it should be included)...

They also try to hassle you into buying other products. I bought one and unfortunately, it was a waste because it didn't really change my skin or do anything that amazing.

All in all, this is nothing to rave about or hate on. It's just blah blah blah.

    Was this review …?

So here we are headed to Vegas in a week. My friend says "Hey I have a coupon for a Brazilian along with a facial and spray tan". On the drive up I told her to be careful and try to avoid high pressured sells and sweet talk to purchase anything else while we were there.  We pulled into a business park which didn't resemble a medical spa whatsoever. In fact it looked more like an industrial center used for computers.

We opened the door and the place looked very warm and cozy.  A nice fresh aroma, dim lights and soothing music. I liked the softness of the layout.  We were greeted by the sweetest girl who explained the procedures and never once pulled any shoe in pitches such as "you are absolutely stunning,  do you know what would really brighten your skin"? or how about "Not that you need it but......"and for me the one I have gotten more than once is:  "let me tell you what we can do to fade your freckles " First off.. did I ask"? and secondly "Did I ask"?     Not one time did anyone try a sales pitch. In fact the experience was so nice I decided to sign up for the air brush tan.  Hey when I was younger I always thought my freckles would run together and become a tan so now I look at it as "lets try the tan and see if it blends with the freckles".

I came back the following week and was sitting in the reception area getting nervous about my airbrush tan. My girlfriend had hers done completely nude. Even though I am comfortable with being nude with my freckles, the thought of stretching out as she showed me with my legs apart in the middle of spot lights just didn't appeal to me in front of someone I didn't know. Hell even if I know you I wouldn't want my butt in your face while bending over to make sure every crevice is tan. I decided to bring some inexpensive panties to toss away after my golden tan was complete. The scene went something like this

In room undressing, music playing, clothes off, undies on, step up in front of the backdrop and what I call spot lights to heat up the tan. knock knock on the door, "come in" I say. How come the first thing out of my mouth is "I got this when I took ballet and I know I need to get it seen about" ARE YOU KIDDING ME!  I actually pointed out a vein on the upper part of my thigh. As if she really cared. She was so cool and said "you know I've been doing this for years and this will be so easy, you are completely fine" She was so pleasant, funny and nice that within 5 minutes I felt myself coming alive to the music and thinking I was at "The Girls Next Door Photo Shoot".  Well not exactly but I did feel good about myself.

Not one time was there any talk about spending more money to come back or setting up an appointment for next time. My tan ended up great!  Within 24-hours I was a nice golden brown and you know what??? It blended with my freckles. I loved it and my tan lasted about 14 days.

I will definitely be back. Next time around I think I may try the tan and a facial. Haven't decided. However if you want to check out the link here you go:

If you go to 20/20 for an airbrush tan, be warned, you may look like an umpa lumpa. I decided to do a practice run before my wedding, and so glad I did! Won't go back to this place.. I ended up looking orange, blotchy and oh so unnatural.

I feel bad because the staff is always really sweet, but if you're looking for that glow, save some money and go with a mystic.

Well let me just say...When we go to a spa to get an airbrush tan and a Brazilian wax we girls will pay for the best and expect the best after researching....Its extremely important to get everything perfect an even tan with no white spots, God knows we're not Dalmatians and not trying to look like one. AND yes I loved my tan! I had it for about 2 weeks and that's one great tan without the the worry of premature wrinkles, no sun damage at all! How fabulous is that? Let me just warn you ladies if you don't exfoliate when it starts to come off you'll start to looking like you got a suntan in a shaded area from a tree with little rays of sun poking through. NOT CUTE!

Then the pain we go through to be silky smooth and hair free, each hair ripped out by the root of each pore the last thing we want to do is go home and take care of the little strays ourselves. That's exactly what I had to do! WARNING LADIES! Don't get waxed here!

I first came here during the last SpaWeek for the Jade & Ginseng Slimming Herbal Body Wrap. I usually like body wraps so its always nice to try out new places and services.

The place itself is nice, but definitely in a random area in between business buildings... Parking was great though.

They offered disposable undies and bandeau so that was nice. The service room was rather small and could use some updating on the ambiance in my opinion. The service itself was fine. I got rubbed down and then wrapped up. Afterwards, I felt good... I dunno... I didn't feel spectacular nor amazingly refreshed or anything. I kinda almost felt the same as when I came in? hmmm...

Anyhow, I still got a chance to lay down and rest for a bit in the wrap, so that was nice. I would be up to trying a different service here again... but probably not the Jade & Ginseng Slimming Herbal Body Wrap. Not sure it would have been worth it full price... in fact, not sure it was worth it at SpaWeek price. hmmm......

My friend and I came here for our Jade & Ginseng Slimming Herbal Body Wrap here during Spa Week!

First off, be sure to look for directions from their website.  It is tucked in the middle of the business district (aka Qualcomm land).  As I got out of the car, I almost expecting to find a some dump yet to my surprise, the minute you step in it does become another environment.  Now before anyone's imaginations gets the better of them, the spa is decorated minimally.  The lobby is small and quaint, the rooms are just the same, but does help set you into a nice, calm, restful state of mind.

Now on to the body wrap: for my first body wrap, it was definitely amazing!  I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the lady who helped me was nice and explained what was going on.  First she scrubbed me down to exfoliate my arms, legs, back, stomach and chest.  Then, a mixture that smelled very floral and aromatic was brushed all over before I was wrapped to "bake".

I laid there listening to the music coming gently through the speakers in the room, and slowly drifted in and out of sleep.  After goodness knows how long, the same nice lady back in to start giving me a hand/arm and foot massage.

Overall, my friend and I had a great experience here.  The staff is attentive, friendly, and makes you feel comfortable.  The treatment we got is normally about $130, but it was only $50 during Spa Week!!  So needless to say, we definitely got our money's worth and we were both baby skin smooth, happy customers!

Small but nice place. I went here for an airbrush tan and it turned out wonderfully. It took a while for me to get over my initial shyness of being topless but my airbrush tanner was really nice and kept me talking. You can opt for no tan lines (go buck naked) or wear w/e swim wear/lingerie. They provide you with a disposable thong if you wish to use it. I used it and it was perfectly fine. They spray you twice all over and they were very detailed and patient. I would probably go back here again for another airbrush tanning session. Probably before I leave for vegas!

I went here for an airbrush tan and it turned out great.  The girl listened to my concerns and was careful to give me a nice tan.  They give you disposable thongs, which is great.  The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly.  I would give them five stars but they are PRICEY... $50 for one spray tan.  You can buy packages that lower the cost, however.  I recommend this place to anyone!

This place is awesome. I've only been for waxing services, but I've been a customer for about 5 months. The people are really nice and my girl (Margy) does an amazing job! It's about $50 for a Brazilian, but it's worth it because of the staff.

I went to 20/20 skin for a body wrap as well as Dermosonic. It is located in a very industrial part of Sorrento Mesa which was actually great because it was only 5 minutes from my work! The staff was really nice and very informative. I really appreciated that they weren't super pushy with sales and packages.  I think they are a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for...and they have great quality.

I work a couple of blocks from this spa and I love it!
I've been there for facials and massages and it's the best treat I can get after working long hours.  They have an amazing service, I highly reccommend it.
