Review from Jordan L.

Twice now 20/20 has guided me through the tough process of finding the perfect pair of frames and lenses when none seemed exactly right. Both Diane and David have great taste, a true eye for what makes a frame work on someone's face, and the entire experience at 20/20 is impeccably professional. Both pairs glasses were prepared with very short notice, the second pair in single day because I had to leave on a trip the following morning. I was a bit anxious about how compressed timeline was but David delivered 100%. He was also able to work with my very high prescription and still get my rimless lenses down to a beautiful thin profile. They look like jewelry and were made by an artist, so thank you 20/20!

I've been looking for a new pair of everyday frames for about a year now and I like the 50's style cat-eye plastic frames which this year I haven't seen much of around. I went to a bunch of stores and couldn't find anything I liked at the large chain stores and at some of the small fancier places was getting the cold shoulder probably because I'm younger and usually I'm running errands when I go look at glasses and am usually not dressed up or anything.
So yesterday I was taking a break from cleaning the house and thought I'd walk down town to grab some lunch and I walked into 20/20 and was immediately greeted even though they were helping other people and as soon as someone available they were happy to help me. Judith was able to sense my style and and listened to what I said and was quickly able to pull many frames that might work for me and was even sensitive to the fact that I have a big head and need a wider frame. I told them I needed to think about it and I didn't feel pressured at all they simply said they hope to see me back again soon.
I came back to purchase my frames today and am very happy!!!!
Thanks 20/20! -

If you want cheap eyewear that looks like everyone else's there are places for that. If you're looking for high quality and style frames, this is your place. Your biggest issue will be making up your mind. If you like high tech European style frames, they have them. If you want true vintage styles, they have them. If you want something a little "out there", they've got them. For bicycle and active sports dorks like me, they have a variety of athletic eyewear that will look good, protect your eyes and, with a prescription, let you see.
My wife had a pair of Anne et Valentin frames that fell out of the pocket of her motorcycle jacket. David, the owner, was able to source a pair from France, where they're made. Talk about service.
Check out their annual manufacturer's show. It's in April, usually. They rent space at a hotel and you can look at literally thousands of frames while a jazz band plays, champagne is poured and food is served. The savings on frames and lenses are great and the selection is not often replicated. -

I have worn glasses almost all my life, and I am hard to fit due to the size of my face. I have preferred rimless as a result. Rimless glasses, by the way, are getting harder and harder to find.
Not a problem at 2020, where the rimless selection is too good to be true. It's huge.
Add to that the staff (David, the owner, genius, and person to take care of anything you need), Diane (the sales assistant), who is genuinely dedicated to total customer satisfaction, and the very capable opticians, and we have a real winner of an outfit here.
I have been able to find out why my "other" prescriptions weren't working and get the real prescription i needed. Plus I bought the prettiest glasses you'll ever find.
Yes, they are a bit pricier, but, since I wear them every day of my life, this is an investment that pays off 365 days a year. I am so glad they exist.
Do yourself a favor and check them out before you decide. They have lots of other cool, stylish up to date fashions... even if you aren't wild about rimless, like I am.
This place truly deserves 5 stars... and then some. -

I was so impressed recently by 20/20 Optical's dedication to superior customer service that I feel the need to share my story. I bought a pair of frames there that I fell in love with in Europe but found for considerably less at 20/20. I used a recent prescription for the lenses but after a month or so of wearing them I needed to come in for an adjustment. David had my eyes reexamined and found that the prescription was way off. He ordered a new pair of lenses for me at a nominal fee. 20/20 Optical provides the best selection, the best prices, and the BEST customer service!

Really nice eyewear and sales folks, but the prices are amazingly high. Amazingly high as in off the charts.
Given the prices, I would think coming back for adjustments and minor touches would be welcome. Felt a little iffy in the folloeup scene -

OK here's the deal, there is a particular retro design I like and I came up with the manufacturer and according tho their website 20 20 carries their line. I also found a few place on the web but want to see the glasses and try them on. I called to make sure they had some in stock and yes they did and the lady said she'd have them out for me.
The website I found indicated the retail on the glasses is $240 and they sell them for $162. You can imagine my surprise when the 2020 lady said $400 for the frames and another $300 for progressive lenses (btw the online place had progressive lenses for $99).
Bottom line, at least for me, unless you're made out of money avoid this place. Don't get me wrong, I really want to support local businesses but not at their prices... -

The last I got glasses there is the last time I go there. They are way too expensive. Their service is lacking, too---David says one thing and a sales person says another. David broke a pair of glass I got in Tel Aviv and then wanted me to buy a pair from him. I made him repair the ones he broke.
I try to support the locally-owned businesses, but this one is going to get well known.
Also, take a look at the supporting posts. They are all well-written and in the same style--looks like Murdoch at work here. -

I was looking online for my "eye doctor's" telephone number; Dr. Greg Perrone and found these reviews for 20/20 from people. First and foremost, Dr. Perrone is a wonderful doc, and very, very professional.
As for 20/20, I am still in shock from the last time I purchased eyeglasses there. Yes, they were titanium, but for the frames and lenses I paid over eight hundred dollars. It took me four months to pay them. My insurance covered my eye exam, and a portion of the eyeglasses, however I still paid 20/20 (NOT Dr. Perrone) what to me was a small fortune - six years ago!
Four years ago when it was time to purchase new eyeglasses I went elsewhere and only had the lenses replaced with the thinnest lenses, and got Transition lenses, which included anti-glare, and the scratch resistant guarantee for a little over one hundred fifty dollars.
Two years ago I purchased new frames and lenses, with the thinnest lenses,Transition lenses, anti-glare and the scratch resistant guarantee for three hundred dollars.
Even the contact lenses I purchased at 20/20 were over-priced.
Dr. Perrone however ROCKS! It's too bad he's so tightly woven with 20/20 OpticalListed in: My Neighborhood

If you are in need of any sort of quality glasses, sunglasses (prescription or not), this is the place in Marin to go. They feature a huge selection of styles and brands to suit the needs of anyone who comes through the door.
Oakley, MontBlanc, Gucci....just to name a few. Yes, many "high end" brands, but the types of glasses that will last you many years.
My particular problem is that any sort of glasses I wear need to rest lightly or not touch a certain part of the left side of my nose due to it being broken a long time ago because I suck at playing baseball.
Tell that to the people working here, and they actually listen and care. I was toured around the store for nearly an hour with three different sales people, trying on more than 20 pairs of shades. As I narrowed the choices down they pointed out pros and cons of the different selections, and actually made me go outside with my final choices to see how effective they were in the sunlight.
At different points in the year they have clearances...so many of the choices were 40 to 50% off (such as this weekend...the end of the summer). The fifth star goes to them because they didn't upsell me for the vile of sunglass cleaner and cleaning cloth like Sunglass Hut always does. They give it to you for FREE.
If I ever have the misfortune of losing my great eyesight, you can be assured I will be returning here to get a pair of prescription glasses many years down the line. It is old-fashioned service that long ago disappeared from many retail stores you go to these days. -

My first, second and third impressions of 20/20 are all similar: Perfection. Choosing glasses is a very difficult thing between the various styles, quality, coloring, lens options, etc. It is an absolute necessity to have expertise to help explain which is which and what works... In less than 10 minutes with their staff, I had found 3 different frames that were perfect for my face...Note that this is completely different than my experiences elsewhere, wherein I've been left on my own to try on style after style of frame for hours, and somehow, the staff thought they all looked great!
The staff at 20/20 was honest about what I needed, what looked good, options on lenses and colors, etc. Again, what could have been hours worth of work, was 30 minutes max - across all the visits and fittings! Basically, from walking in, to receipt of my fitted glasses, I invested a TOTAL of 30 minutes. My time is important and I never seem to have enough, so efficiency is key - the ultimate result though was that I never felt rushed through the process, they were happy to spend as much time as required, but it just wasn't required! They know their inventory and styles, they know their stuff!
The ultimate result was that my wife, after seeing my selection, was VERY impressed and has now ordered glasses for herself as well from 20/20.
I would and will never go anywhere else again.... -

I surely did respond to the owner, and I can show you the mail, dated, to prove it. In fact, it was the owner himself who was so disinterested after the big money was made...

These people are elitist snobs. From the moment you walk in you receive that strange pompous expression in their faces. I've lived in Marin for 30 years and can honestly say that I've never experienced the "Marin" attitude more than I did in this place. There are countless places in Marin where you can be treated kindly and spend a great deal less on what these people expect you to pay.

After a disappointing day of shopping for eyeglasses at several stores I came to 20/20 and within 15 minutes found the perfect frames. I was greeted and helped immediately and all of the employees made me feel welcome and important.
The best part about 20/20 is that they have a lab upstairs and when I bought the glasses on Saturday they told me they would be ready by Tuesday! They have the fastest service because everywhere else took a week or more.
Jackie was amazing, she knew everything there is to know about glasses, fittings, and best of all customer service. Everyone in here was extremely professional and ready to help. When I came in a few days later for an adjustment the owner gave me free extra cloths and spray and made me feel like a valued customer :) (every little thing helps right?)

If you're in the market for new glasses, it's hard to find a better place than 20/20. They expanded their shop about a year ago and added even more first-rate product lines. The owner, David, is a very helpful person who takes his business seriously.

The only thing sweeter then my pair of Gucci eyeglasses was the service I received from Jackie at 20/20 Optical. Going through the selection of designer frames Jackie was there for advice and support and really guided me through the beautiful and well air conditioned showroom. Unlike other eyewear stores in Marin, 20/20 helped perfectly adjust my frames to my face and did everything in less than a week, allowing me to have my glasses just in time for my planed vacation and I was promised by the owner that they could ship my glasses to me if they weren't ready. Never have I received more compliments on my eyewear, well worth the trip from SF to Marin. Thanks 20/20.

Unfortunately, Last Friday I lost my eyeglasses and was referred to 20/20 Optical by my eye doctor. I needed a new pair before leaving for Puerto Rico the next day. Thanks to the owner David, I was able to get my glasses done Saturday morning and in a very timely manner. From the moment I entered the door everyone was extremely professional and friendly. They had a huge selection of glasses to choose from and I will refer all my friends to 20/20 for eyeglasses.

I went into this store for the first time recently and was blown away at the service and high-quality products. David is the pinnacle of professionalism - equipped with both a superior knowledge of his products and a keen sense of what the customer wants. I would recommend this store to anyone with an eye for quality and a desire to be treated with the utmost respect.
