After looking at how ridiculously expensive movers can be, I found the very reasonable and highly rated 2 Guys and a Van on yelp. I couldn't have been happier!

Paul, Gama, and Anthony showed up to help me move a second floor 2 bedroom in Evanston to my new place about a mile away and the guys were quick, friendly and did not break a single thing. Not sure what else you could ask for in movers. The guys took all of the stress out of the move. For 4 and a 1/2 hours of hard work in the rain my final bill was just under $450 before tip.

I would highly recommend them for your next move.

I had a very good experience with these guys. John, Jerry and Johnny were on time and no nonsense about getting to work. The move itself took longer than anticipated because they took the time to wrap my artwork individually. They didn't rush through it and I felt comfortable that my belongings were safe and not going to get damaged.

This is the first time I have used a moving service, and I happy to say that I recommend them and will also use them again.

I've used moving services twice before these guys, and this experience was the best.  Good communication pre-moving day.  On moving day they were right on time and finished before they estimated.  They efficiently moved us from our 1st floor to 3rd floor apartment in less time (and less money) than they quoted us.  I feel that the price was very fair--especially for their level of professionalism.  None of them were creepy either.  Highly recommended!

Cannot recommend these guys enough. Helpful, quick, and made it happen for me at a reasonable price. Was going crosstown with a 1BR; 30 boxes, a bed and a desk. Handled it all with no problems.

    Hottest. Movers. Ever.

Besides their cast of movers being part of a fantasy of mine, they arrived on time, were in constant communication, were in and out in under the time frame quoted, and were courteous, clean, cute, etc.

This was by far the best and easiest move I've ever had and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

This modestly named company delivers a shamelessly immodest level of service. I'm a serial biannual mover, and I've used a number of different moving companies. But since finding 2 Guys and a Van, I'm in a devoted (right, guys?) monogamous mover relationship, or MMR.

Outdoing its name, 2 Guys and a Van always delivers, not two, but at least three courteous, quick, and Herculean-armed movers. The owner, Steve, frequently works alongside his team, and it's easy to see that their friendly and hardworking approach starts at the top. So look no further for fantastic movers in Chi-town. I'll just conveniently pretend not to notice that you're cozying up to your own MMR with my movers.

When I bought a couch on Craiglist and got a great deal on it, I realized I had a little extra dough for movers. Thank goodness I didn't have to subject another friend of mine to move furniture with me. It was my first grownup couch, and now I could be a grownup and have people move it for me!

I called several places for quotes on moving the couch from downtown to my apartment in Lincoln Square. These guys had the best price! Steve and I set up a time--he returned my call promptly.

I can tell you that this is NOT a man who will give you the runaround. Steve is honest and a man of his word. He arrived exactly when he said he would, keeping in regular communication about he and his crew's ETA.

My stupid door wouldn't open wide enough at my apartment when we arrived, so Steve and his crew played the cruelest game of Tetris I've ever witnessed to get my couch in there. But they were triumphant, God bless 'em! And I don't think I heard a single curse word uttered, not that I mind.

    Good job, guys!

These guys were great - I made an appointment with them two weeks before my move and they gave me a two hour window when they would come. They really did call 30 minutes before arriving and were polite and efficient. When my bed frame wouldn't fit down the stairs they took it apart for me, and when the elevator to the second floor public storage unit I had rented broke down they didn't bat an eye - just carried my apartment's-worth of furniture and boxes up the stairs. I was quoted three hours but they came in at two.

I'll be moving my boxes out of storage and into my new apartment in three months and I will definitely be calling them again.

Do people really post fake reviews on here..?  That's kind of odd..

I just read the response from Steve who was noticeably upset with my review, and I understand that.  I didn't want to post that review, that's why I waited a year.. When my move was complete and I realized I couldn't find my camera I did not automatically assume it had been stolen.  I assumed, like I mentioned in the first post, that I had misplaced it.  So, I waited. And waited. And waited. And when an entire year had gone by, I wrote the post. And then I waited. Some more. You'll be happy to know that I'm now at peace with my missing camera.  Although, I still do not want to believe that it went home in the hands of one of the movers from this company...  I believe people are inherently good. Still. For some reason.

To Steve, I apologize for not responding to any inquiries you might have made of me.  As you can see, I am not a Yelp expert.  I still can't seem to find where you tried to contact me... But, like I said, I've let it go.  And I'm not suggesting people not use your service (if I were to suggest that I would have gone into detail about all the reasons, aside from the missing camera, that I personally would not use your service again..) I'm not even saying that I'm positive that your guys were to blame for the missing camera, I was just telling people to be vigilant, as I wasn't.

Moving is always about the most stressful thing a person can go through, but with the help of this company, my move was very smooth. First of all, I think if Kenny was President, we would have world peace. He is so calm on the phone, even after I called 1,000 times to make sure the thing I just called about was still in place, he was still nice to me. The estimate was dead on, although we went over on time, I understand that is because I wasn't quite as ready for their arrival as I had thought (are we ever really that ready?) The three strapping young men that actually did the heavy lifting couldn't have been more respectful and nice. In the event that I have to move again, without a doubt, I would go with this company again. Top notch service all around!

These guys are great!  They offer flat rate delivery services in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs starting at $50.  I actually got three guys and a van -- Steve, the primary contact, and two younger guys to help with the lifting.  They came with a cargo van, blankets/pads, and a furniture dolly.  Everything looked clean and in good condition.  Moreover, they were really nice people and reliable.

I hired them to move a couch from Buffalo Grove to my third-floor (walk-up) condo in Chicago.  I found 2 Guys and a Van's posting on Craigslist and gave them a call.  Steve answered right away and gave me a quote that was $30 less than the next cheapest estimate (and half as much as some of the higher bids I got).  They called to confirm the appointment, came on time, and got the job done quickly.  I would absolutely use them again for a small delivery job.

I don't think they have a website, but you can look them up on Craigslist, or call Steve at (847) 704-0035.

I needed a couch moved from Skokie to my place in Roscoe Village (basement to 2nd floor).  Since I had a good experience before I gave them another shot. They called to let me know they were ahead of schedule which was great since I didn't have to wait around for them.  2 guys came (no Steve this time) and they handled my couch with care and shrinkwrapped it and used moving pads.  They were consistent with my first experience, fast and efficient and reasonably priced (considering gas prices nowadays).

So I think it's actually 3 Guys and a Van, 'cause when I had my bed moved, three guys showed up -- Steve (the boss man) and two younger guys who actually did the moving.  Technicalities aside, I had a really positive experience using them as my movers.  I bought a bed from a girl at UIC and needed it moved to my apartment in Hyde Park -- being a college student, I am perpetually broke and without a car.  Fortunately, I saw Steve's ad on Craigslist.  Despite normally being pretty sketched out by CL ads, I was desperate so thought their $50 flat rate fee was God feeling pity for me.  No other movers offered rates CLOSE to that (most are hourly) and even renting a truck from Home Depot costs $20 for max. one hour.  And you have to carry everything yourself.  AND I'm not 21 yet, so, you know.  That would be illegal.

So I called Steve, who was really helpful and NOT pushy.  I called him multiple times during my bed search, but a whole bunch of my attempts fell through.  After like my third failed bed purchase attempt, Steve reassured me that tons of beds come out at the end of the month and he was sure I'd get one.  Sure enough, Steve was right.  I got a bed, I called Steve, we set up a pick up date and time -- between 4-6PM.  Now, having firsthand experiences with businesses such as, oh, Comcast, and knowing that a 4-6PM appointment on Monday actually means they're coming at 3PM on Wednesday, I didn't feel too anxious about getting home a little late on pick up day.  By while I was on the Red Line home, Steve called around 4:15 PM to tell me that they had the bed and was on the way to my apartment.  WHAT.  I ran home after getting off the bus and they were all chillin' outside my place already.  Super nice about it though, and helped me move my bed upstairs -- even set up the frame for me.

By the way, $50 is the minimum fee, they charge $15 for stairs and probably fees for other significant obstacles (such as pick up in the suburbs), but they're still cheaper than anyone else I know and very professional and reliable.  DO IT.  I will definitely call Steve again next time I need something moved.

P.S.  I forgot that on the day I was supposed to get my bed moved, Steve called super early to let me know one of his guys threw out his back and he wanted to know if I could reschedule to the next day, offering to charge only $40 instead of $50.  I thought that was handled well... so well I almost forgot to mention it.

I was interested in hiring them during a move over the summer.  After researching moving vans on yelp I wanted to try them out.  However after more than 5 phone calls and three emails that were never returned, I didn't get that chance.   It would've been nice if they just responded and said they were booked, but I guess that takes too much effort.

We were looking for movers a few weeks before our summer move date, and we found that most of the movers in the city were already booked. When I called 2 Guys and a Van, they were very helpful and were able to give us our date and available time. They called when they were on their way and did a great job with the move from start to finish. I would highly recommend them!

Very friendly and professional. These are great guys to hire for your local move. If you are looking for someone to help you with your move, but don't want to hire those professional high cost movers that quote you $350 for a simple move, these are your guys. They are cost friendly, fastttt, and super nice. They moved all my furniture in less than an hour. They were really helpful with scheduling my move on such short notice too. Call them and mention YELP! They'll be happy to know they've been ntoed :)

Steve is professional, friendly, and accomodating. I was impressed with Steve's attention to detail and his willingness to work with his customers. I have dealt with moving companies for years as an insitutional buyer, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Steve as a business owner. I suspect that if he had been present my move would have gone much more smoothly.

The guys who handled the move itself are another story. First of all they showed up without any tools. Then they tried to refuse to move the couch, complaining about how they couldn't get it out the door. Finally the seller moved it out of the house for them. Um...didn't I hire YOU to do that? They also managed to gouge the wall at the seller's house and put several large dents and scratches on the couch. Not exactly the TLC I was promised when I made the appointment.

These guys are cheap and you get what you pay for...so I didn't expect it would be perfect. They would have gotten one more star (even considering the damage to the couch) if not for the whining and the attempt to refuse to move the couch. That's just mind-bogglingly unprofessional from a MOVING company.

I would consider using these guys again but I would not hire them to move anything I really like. And I would insist that Steve be there to manage his employees!

    These guys were great.

I was able to talk to Steve on the phone to set up a date and time and was able to get the Yelp discount.

They arrived much later than the original estimated time but Steve kept us informed as to when his crew would show. The lateness was due to an emergency and didn't bother us at all since we were kept informed about the time changes.

I needed a crew of three and they were really fast. I was impressed quite frankly, as I had no way of doing the work myself. They were definitely worth every penny. I just hope I tipped the movers enough.

The only negative is that they had a habit of putting boxes on top of things marked fragile. While they were moving quickly and nothing was damaged, it still made me nervous.

Just the same, I'd definitely use them again. Thanks!

2 Guys and a Van recently moved me and I cannot say enough good things about them. They were prompt, the owner called to update me when they were closeby, all of my possessions were moved undamaged. The THREE guys were extremely fast and professional. AND my final price I was less than half (seriously!) of other companies starting estimates. Book these guys. They're awesome!

These guys are awesome! I moved into a 4th-floor walk-up and was expecting my 20-30 boxes to arrive by UPS and was freaking out about how I was going to take them all upstairs myself.

I called up Steve the day before the scheduled delivery and not only did he agree to take the job, but he was also extremely accommodating when I needed to reschedule multiple times while waiting for the UPS truck to show up. It was never a problem getting in touch with them -- my calls and emails were returned very promptly.

The 3 guys who showed up were friendly, super efficient, and got all my boxes moved upstairs in just under 20 min. It's so worth every single penny and I'll definitely use them again for my next move. You can easily find them on craigslist (as other Yelpers pointed out), and their current contact info is Steve at (847) 704-0035.
