I've now had the chance to experience 2Dine4 in 3 different ways and all 3 experiences were great!
As a wedding coordinator:
I worked with Frank and his team and they were very professional and helpful! Their staff were great in helping with the set up, flipping and bar service. As you would expect for a May wedding in Texas, it was HOT HOT HOT! But even though they were probably sweating like crazy in their uniforms, the entire staff was still courteous and attentive.
As a wedding guest:
The wedding that I got to try 2 Dine 4's caterer was delicious! The couple getting married are old college friends and I always remember them saying that good food was on the top of their list for wedding priorities.
As a guest of Supper Friends:
I'd heard about Supper Friends from the wedding I mentioned above. Instead of doing the traditional tastings, 2 Dine 4 hosts these wonderful dinner parties. Recently, I got a chance to try Supper Friends through yelp and it was a great experience! -

We experienced 2Dine4's service and food at a beautiful wedding, so when it came time to select a caterer for my Dad's 90th birthday party bash, I had VERY high expectations.
Each and every contact and detail, from the first phone call to lights out at the party site, exceeded my expectations. The care that Stephen showed in suggesting, listening to, and offering menu selections that would have special meaning to our family and my Dad was incredible. Never, ever, were our menu tweaks and special diet restrictions treated like a bother, but rather as an opportunity to fine-tune our event.
Upon arrival at our site, Nicki, Terry, Chef Manuel, and Ryan instantly exuded calm and preparedness- they set up a gorgeous food display and went so above and beyond what they were there to do- it was almost as if they were working their own family's event.
The food was AMAZING- every bit of it- even the tiniest details.
As I told Terry- they reminded me of what GREAT service and care used to feel like- it was refreshing!
Thanks guys, for making our event better than it would have been without you. -

We had their food at a wedding almost a year ago and it was amazing. We are wedding vendors as well and they treated us with the same courtesy and respect that they had for a wedding guest (which is so rare for caterers!). They were professional, kind, and the food was hot and delicious!

My husband and I took a trip to the Mediterranean before our wedding, and fell head-over-heels in love with the food. When it came to picking a catering company, it came down to how authentic, healthy, creative, and mouth-watering the menu was, and 2Dine4 blew us out of the water.
Throughout the entire night, all of our guest couldn't stop talking about how incredible the food was. All I heard was, "Have you had that Tres Leches?!"
As well as their food, their service was fantastic. Everyone was very polite, put together, organized, and thrilled to be serving such wonderful food. The waiter that served my husband and I even told us thank you for having such a great menu! And Gina, the event coordinator and main contact for 2Dine4, is wonderful. She is very sweet, patient, quick, and extremely helpful.
I would recommend 2Dine4 in a heart beat. If you love food, and want to work with other people that love food, 2Dine4 is your caterer. -

We used 2 Dine 4 for our November 2010 wedding after researching numerous caterers. Food was extremely important to us, and we wanted an untraditional format of formal seating with place settings, but with a number of heavy hors d'hoevres stations so our guests could freely mingle. Frank and his team worked patiently and creatively (long distance, I might add) to put on a fabulous spread within our budget. In addition to drawing up multiple proposals (after we repeatedly changed our minds), he offered guidance on rentals, set-up, staging, and decor, all over email, and with very quick turnaround. As other reviewers noted, they took care of the "extras": communicating with the rental vendors, signage, extra decorations, packing up leftover food and liquor, etc. so I never had to think about it. The result was rave reviews by all our guests, and we can't wait for another excuse to have 2 Dine 4 cater for us!

Where to start in describing our experience with 2 Dine 4 Catering who we used for the wedding festivities on New Year's Eve for my son and his wife? The whole experience was nearly flawless, and I don't say that very often. I have a reputation as being obsessive about good, seasonal and tasty food.
Understand that I live in Michigan and was charged with finding a caterer in Austin on about 8 weeks notice to take care of three wedding events over the New Year's Eve weekend. When I contacted 2 Dine 4, they were very patient with my numerous questions and requests for detailed descriptions of the appetizers, food photos, references, and finally picking out the appetizers for the afternoon reception. I did this without ever personally tasting anything they prepared, which could be disaster. But no so with 2 Dine 4. Everyone that I worked with from the owner, Stephen Shallcross, and Nikki, the event planner, were extremely helpful, professional and easy-going. Even Chef Chism took the time to personally talk to me about the events and guide me in my selections. To describe 2 Dine 4 as professional in all aspects of their business is an understatement.
Now a word about the appetizers for the reception. They prepared a selection of stationary and passed appetizers that were delicious and beautiful. Imagine warm and perfectly cooked coconut shrimp skewers with mango chile sauce. The wild mushroom pot stickers with red curry and lemon grass sauce were a huge hit, along with warm yorkshire popovers filled with roast prime rib of beef, English cheddar and horseradish sauce. Perfectly seared and crusted ahi tuna on wonton crisps were spot-on and Taiwanese crispy chicken wraps in Mandarin pancakes with a Thai basil sauce and sesame slaw were artfully displayed in paper snow cone cups. How about crab ceviche and green chile pork empanadas with avocado crema? This doesn't include the beautiful antipasti platter with numerous tasty selections and the delicious petite cherry pies, chocolate bourbon pecan diamonds and coconut cream tarts.
2 Dine 4 also has a perfect house (the Swoop House) on Gonzalez Street where we had the rehearsal dinner the night before. What a treat and perfect setting for our group! Again, they prepared fantastic passed appetizers, including delectable crab cakes and goat cheese bruschetta with olive tapenade and fresh tomato relish. Among the perfectly plated courses, we enjoyed crispy fried quail on hearts of romaine salad, praline bacon with tomato and maytag blue cheese vinaigrette. Everyone loved the roasted tomato bisque and mini grilled pimento cheese sandwiches gracing the soup. The main course was a wonderful beer braised shortrib with tobacco onions, crab mornay mac & cheese and grilled asparagus. What can be wrong with a hot apple tart with rum-carmel gelato to cap off the meai?
They also took care of a brunch the following morning. Again, everything was so good!
I would highly recommend 2 Dine 4 to anyone planning a wedding or any other special event, large or small. Because they are a full service caterer and event planner, they can arrange all the details for an event, including seating, linens, china, glassware and anything else. They made perfect suggestions for a florist and photographer. We couldn't have done it without their help. Kudos for 2 Dine 4! -

on my drive to work this morning, i got the happy bumps. you know, the goosebumps you get from being excited and being on a natural high. can you point out what is wrong with this picture?
first of all, i was on my way to work. bingo. who gets excited going to work, you know, besides gigolos, professional shoppers, and my fiance?
that's right, i have a fiance, and right now, we're in the middle of planning our wedding.
so, it's thursday morning; here i am, a woman(child) in the midst of planning a wedding, and i'm completely sane and happy.
so, you're wondering: am i delusional or have i found some secret route to wedding planning sans stress?
unfortunately, there's no secret route. i won't discount being delusional just yet, but i have found something that alleviates stress-levels and staves off unnecessary man/woman disagreements: a kick-butt caterer.
2 dine 4 had me at hello. their menus looked interesting and had some unique flavor profiles that set them apart from typical wedding fare. gina, their event planner, worked (very patiently) with us to come up with a menu that fit our vision and tastes. after several revisions, she came up with a tasty array of dishes that i am sure will be crowd pleasers.
we met with them yesterday to do a tasting of our proposed menu. everything was fabulous. i am in love with several of the dishes; in fact, i sometimes daydream about one of them...
the people at 2 dine 4 are warm and professional, and they seem to love doing what they do. at the end of the day, that works out well for all parties involved. you can taste a chef's passion and soul in his cooking, and luckily for 2 dine 4, their chef's soul really shines through in their food.
although they have not catered our event yet, we're completely thrilled and excited to have them on board for our special day. -

We used 2Dine4 as our wedding caterer, and we were very impressed with the food, service, and professionalism. Our wedding was small but these guys weren't snobby about that, and our guests RAVED about the food. They let us taste-test both the Mexican and Italian menus, and it was really tough deciding because all the food was soooo good. I would definitely recommend them for weddings! And I have to add that some other caterers can be flaky, but these guys are on the ball!

So good! These guys (and gals!) really know what they are doing. Having tried them at big events, I know they know food. Every thing we tried made us happy! (a bunch of foodies here). We'd been telling so many people about our great food experience that we ended up telling the owner himself! Then he introduced himself. (very nice by the way). They cook such a variety, it's amazing that they do it all so well. Funny side note: Every time 2 Dine 4 comes up in conversation, we hear someone chime "That's MY caterer!" Food so good, you'll think you're the only person they are cooking for. Such a treat!

As a person who often hosts events for our business I have had experience with a wide variety of caterers and food service providers. At times when dealing with your run of the mill caterers, the service and food can be great but most of the time its rarely something to be remembered. My opinion of this was changed upon eating the food and catering from 2Dine4. Stephen and his staff not only presented a visually appealing layout of food, but the food itself was fresh, well prepared, and anything but forgettable. From salmon, to beef, and chicken and vegetarian dishes, my taste buds repeatedly thanked me as I went back for seconds, thirds, and fourths. Overall I highly recommend 2Dine4 for any event you may be having from large corporate and charity events, to conventions, and even weddings. The service, quality and standards are truly something you won't forget and they are by far the best catering in Austin.
