Brooklyn, NY
I come here very often for lunch. For $2.75 for two slices of cheese pizza and a can of coke, it's a no-brainer.
Having said that, I don't love myself afterwords. This is not haute cuisine. This is a pizza factory. C'est la vie.
The pizza could probably be cooked a little longer, and the ingredients could probably be of a higher quality, but frankly, I'm going to keep coming here for a long time to come. -

Not worth the dollar, nothing good about this, the fake cheese was dripping off the in-cooked dough.
The NYC fried chicken place down the street a OK $1 slices. -

2 Bros Pizza - there are a couple in NY, Its one of those places you goto when you're in the area and
1. need a quick bite on the run
2. you're still hungry after a meal and there happens to be one near by
Food: 3/5
Its not the best pizza, but the price and freshness makes up for that. The best is when they are busy - the pies are usually fresh out of the oven during these times
The tomato sauce is garlicky and theres a thin layer of mozzarella on top, for $1, its a deal. -

Perfect spot for a quick, fresh, and tasty slice of pizza. And as an added bonus, it's only $1!

I walk by this 2 Bros literally everyday and must resist the super tempting aroma of freshly made pizza.
When I am in the mood, usually with boys, a slice of their pepperoni pizza with an orange Fanta legit makes my tummy warm and happy - especially for $2.50!
Some of the specialty pizzas kinda look sad and drab...so I never really get those, but the pepperoni ones are in this hot display thing so it's always warm and yummy.Listed in: West Side Story, I'm Drunk, Let's Eat!, You want a Pizza me?

$1. Easy, cheap and quick (like me).
Plenty of high tables around with some seating inside. -
Review from Billy V.
If you want a cheap slice come on down. If you had to much beer or alcohol common on down. If your on a strict budget come on down.
The pizza is hot and tasty. I guess I am a big fan of their dough. I am kind of addicted to it. It is soft and warm. Instead of pizza it is warm bread with sauce and some cheese. Not the greatest slice, but for a buck you can't go wrong.
There are better places in NYC for a slice, but a buck won't hurt you. It is cheaper than an old subway token.
Thank you 2 Bros Pizza for your $1 slice. My regular pizzeria in Astoria is now charging $1 to......yeah. All is good........... -

ASTORIA, NY
Shame on you 2 Bros Pizza for being across the street from a dance studio. Every time I go to a rehearsal or class, I end up eating your cheapest of the cheap delicious pizza.
Although, being a cheap ass, I will love any food item that costs $1, I do love this place. The pizza is always fresh since it's busy, but it'll only take you a second to grab a slice and a soda and devour it on your walk to the train. -
Review from Marlo G.
What a surprise! This $1 pizza is actually tasty! So tasty, in fact, you're going to need a drink after you're done cause it's a bit salty. It is a bit doughy with the crust part about 3/4 of a inch wide. Having eaten a variety of pizza in my lifetime, I'd say the cheese to sauce ratio is 2:1.
You can get a whole pie for $8 which still comes out to $1 a slice. For $2.75, you can get 2 plain slices and a can of soda! That IS a deal for New York, not to mention across the entire country. Nowadays, 1 slice will cost at least $2, and usually it's $2.50 or $2.75 a piece.
You're pretty much guaranteed a fresh slice because they go like hotcakes--I've never said that in my life, it's such an odd idiom in the 21st century, but as soon as the pies come out, they're slicing it up and handing them out. There's one line for plain alone, and another line if you want toppings.
As you may've read here on YELP, they do have very high tables so you can stand up and eat. There are also some odd small chairs that are a tight fit for everyone.
All in all, it's $1 pizza and it's good. What more could you want? -
Review from Kenny C.
This is only the second 2 Bros I've been to, but it's also my favorite so far. There's a separate counter for non-plain slices (they're $1.50 to $2 a slice, and there's all sorts of random toppings (Hawaii'an, mushroom, sausage, hot dog, white, etc.).
There's standing tables outside but there's usually homeless-looking people all around. -
Review from Julie J.
$2 for lunch? This reminds me of being in grammar school, but better.
The pizza isn't the greatest in the world - it's a little doughy to be honest. However, you will never score a better deal than this in the neighborhood.. $1 slices and I think a can of soda is less than $1 (I can't remember). Sounds good to me! -
Review from Jason H.
The place itself is kind of funky! It has red wall tiles, ceramic white floor tiles, and bar tables with tiny chairs and I felt like I need to be a "midget" to fit those chairs because the seats were so low and not comfy!
They sell pizza for $1 per slice which could be considered a true bargain in a city like New York however the quality is a whole different story.
I threw my pizza slice away after taking two bites because the cheese fell out and was very loose... ewww!
The worst slice ever!!!
Just spend a little more for a true New York pizza slice. -

Oh God no. I get better pizza in San Francisco.
I know it's cheap, but c'mon people... -

Review from Ivar S.
Brooklyn, NY
Meh... it's 1 dollar a slice. If you are expecting anything more than "pass-able" then really, I think you're being a little silly. It's 1$ per cheese slice and up to 2$ for more toppings.
Sadly, this is probably a good indication of what pizza in New York is like now. It's cheap, easy to make, made with cheap ingredients, and mass produced. But it is cheap and that's redeeming, because other places may charge you more for the same thing.
I like it though. It's pizza at its most basic form. Thin bread, sauce, cheese, and various things on it. Get it to fill your belly, not satisfy your taste buds. -
Review from Katee L.
Brooklyn, NY
It's $1. What do you expect?
In any case, if I'm walking by, and can't wait to eat before I get home, I buy a slice. They don't put a lot of cheese on there but still the pizza manages to be pretty salty.
Ok, so can I just tell you lots of people touch those shakers with the spices/pepper flakes/garlic. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT eat your pizza with the same hand that you picked up that shaker with!! It's absolutely filthy! -
Review from Chris D.
always a safe bet. always a hot pie coming out of the oven. always 1 dollar slice including tax. best bang for your buck and it tastes good.

Review from Alex S.
Listen, when you're running around and need to get your slice on, this is the real deal. 2 slices and a soda for $2.75.
The sauce is a little ketchupy, but overall it's tasty.
I guess what I"m getting at is I never regret getting the slice. It's always as good, or better than, the price tag. Keep on keepin' on. -

Queens, NY
At 6 blocks from my office, I'm here 3-5 times a week, without fail. The pizza is always fresh as can be - about 20 seconds out of the oven, because a pie of pizza is gone and paid for inside of a minute. It's incredibly fast, and simply delicious - by far the best of the several "dollar pizza" place in NYC. This place is the very definition of "fast food" - ask for three slices and a soda, and by the time you can put $3.75 on the counter, your piping hot food is next to you beside an ice-cold can. I've dragged all but two of my coworkers here, and they all loved it. I've introduced the place to tourists (who fall in love with me for it, 'cuz the whole "rushed-yet-delicious" pizza thing is apparently "very NYC") and locals alike, who surprisingly had never been there.
If you're in a rush, only have a dollar or two, or simply want a great pizza for a dollar, I recommend this place very highly. Show up more than once on a weekday, and chances are you'll even see me. -

$1 pizza....We like it because it's quick and cheap. There's a lot of value found in both when you live in a town like NYC. But is it really all that?!?
Let's start off with some random thoughts:
1) bready
2) the sauce is pretty tasty, but there isn't enough of it as they're keeping overhead low
3) the cheese is sparse leading to it easily being burned and creating this plasticy texture.
In general, the $1 slice here tastes pretty good from the solid sauce. But what the sauce can't compensate for is the thickness of the slice. I've tried numerous slices on different days and half the time the slices were as thin as tissue paper. It's not much of a deal when that happens and it's annoying as hell when your folded slice flounders from how pathetically thin it is... -
Review from Rajani M.
Love. Love. Love.
it's cheap, New York pizza. Period.
Hot, saucy, cheesy, thin but chewy crust, and you can buy an entire pie for as much as most places charge for a sandwich out here (see: Schnippers).
If you're looking for the finest of it all- go somewhere else (I like Keste). It's not the most gourmet- but it's true New York pizza- made from the water that makes our pizza the best. And even if it's not the best in our beloved city- at least it's better than what you'd find in Boston. -
Review from Eric R.
I was shocked to find that this pizza actually tasted really well. I've visited several of these growing trends, 99 cent pizza, and I have to say I was impressed with both the taste of the pizza and its thickness. Some may think its thin but compared to other 99 cent joints I found the pizza here to be huge in comparison.
Two slices and soda for under $3 can't be beat! -
Review from Tommy K.
The .99 cent pizza here is OK.
I really prefer the pizza place across the street that sells falafel too. Their pizza is $1 and it's really delicious - tastes like real cheese, good seasoning to the sauce and the crust is crunchy yet chewy too.
I never liked the term "Bro" anyway. -

NYC's equivalent of Little Ceasar's for pizza by the slice. Hot & ready. @ slices and a can of pop for $2.75. Can't complain, can't expect to be wowed.

Pizza is good at $1 a slice. What else can you say. It was the best but I would eat it again with no problems.

BAM! Great Pizza for a fucking buck. Did you hear me? A FUCKING DOLLAR A SLICE and it's awesome! Forget about it. I have to restrain myself from getting it 3 times a day when I'm here.
Transfriendly- Nuuuuuuh? It's totally open and street freaks from times square wander in, be safe.
The staff is ok.. they look at me wierd but i can't tell why. -

My first rainy day in NYC and we noticed this pizza joint on the corner just seconds from our hotel room. After we checked in and got situated we realized we were starving! $1 pizza to the rescue! The place is simple, but it was busy. We grabbed 3 slices and took a seat. It was not the best pizza in the world, but still tasted great. I was happy to fold my slice of mushroom in half and chow down away from the rain. For $1 a slice, it can't be beat and come on people you get what you pay for!

I've been chasing the cheap, tasty, convenient NY slice for a while now and I think I've found it at 2 Bros Pizza.
I've had $1 slices before, and sometimes you feel like you got ripped off in terms of the quality. Other times, I pay $3 for a regular slice, and after the first bite, I KNOW I got ripped off. I'm thinking that for $3, I'd expect some sort of premium flavor or crust.
With 2 Bros, it's surprisingly good for a $1 regular slice. In terms of "budget" slices, this place ranks pretty high for me. I'd call myself somewhat of a pizza connoisseur, especially after being in NY for a few years and experiencing NY's best. For me, it's mostly about the crust, and in this case they've done it well.
Crust - Pleasantly thin and chewy, but also has a slight crispness to it. NY-sized slices where you have to fold in half to eat.
Cheese - Not too much to where it's really oily, but not so little that you know you're eating a $1 slice.
Sauce - Pretty stsandard. A slight hint of sweetness.
Overall, this slice does not compare to Patsy's or Grimaldi's, but then again, the slice is only a buck. If I were to put a price on it, I would easily say it compares to other slices at local joints for about $2. Other joints may even charge $2.50+ for the same slice so the deal is definitely there.
The nice thing is that there's multiple locations throughout the city, and so far it's been pretty consistent with the quality at the 3 places I've tried it. There's ample tables around for stand-up eating, and the service is really quick even though there's usually a line of at least a few people.
So if you want a quick, consistent, no frills and yet surprisingly good slice for a dollar, go to 2 Bros Pizza. If you want to take a chance with a local joint that charges you sometimes $3 for a plain slice, who knows, you might get lucky. -

Perfect place to stop after a night of drinking before catching a bus at the port authority. Ya, the pizza is not top quality, but shutup it's $1. Also, I've gotten into some great conversations with the characters that hang around this place.

How is this considered NY Pizza? This pizza sucks. Compared to some of the other pizza shops in the city....YES, IT SUCKS.
The sauce is sweet...kind of like Papa John's. And the pizza itself...below mediocre. I could really barely finish it.
I mean it's cheap, yes. $2.75 gets you two slices and a can of soda. And that's awesome. But it's shitty pizza. I'd rather pay a dollar or two more and actually enjoy what I'm ingesting. -

Since my boo and I have just moved to NYC, we have to say, the pizza here ain't bad. We live nearby and it's our go to place on a late night when we need something to soak up the drank.
This place is like a stripper. It's just so easy to toss a few singles at it just to get some instant gratification.
I think it's about the same as the other location on 8th ave. Oh, just get the cheese pizza. It's normally fresher and I think it tastes better. The 1.50 mushroom isn't worth it. -
Review from Mike J.
It seems all of the Times Square area has gotten ridiculously touristy ( which means expensive food with no taste ).
Good thing there's this place nearby for the dollar slice.
Pizza today at 1970's prices?!? Sweet!
If you guys had the possibility of shakeable parmesan you may get a 4th star from me. -
Review from Line B.
The pizza is not bad for $1 a slice...
It is regular New York Pizza style with thin crust and a little yummyness on top (yes I am thinking about the cheese and tomato-sauce).
The place is small with a few chairs which means that it is usually full.
The service is simple and you get what you pay for. -
Review from Megan F.
New York, NY
3 stars because they are on the corner of my block, and open 24 hours. Mostly, the pizza is really fresh, but not all the time. Sometimes the crust is too thick.
Would I go out of my way for this pizza? Absolutely not. But for the price and convenience, I surely do eat here a lot. -

Hmm. I'm hungry. And I have a bunch of twenties and a one. And I don't really feel like breaking a twenty.
What's this? Dollar pizza? Alright lonely George I'm going to turn you into food now.
Churned out at a furious pace this pizza is quite average. The sauce is a bit sweet (not papa john's saccharine sweet mind you) so stay away if that's not to your liking. Crust is not crispy and the slice will sag a bit. I would liken the experience to eating a Ritz cracker. Not amazing, not awful, something you'd have again because you forgot about the last time you ate it, and you'd sort of enjoy again until the next time you forgot.
The line was not nearly as long as it looked.
Again, very average pizza. Rock bottom price. -
Review from Betty Y.
New York, NY
I mean... it's hard to imagine tastier pizza than this that you can get for $1. They sell so many pies that it's always hot and fresh when you go, and the crust is a good balance of crispy and soft. The pepperoni is also good, but stay away from the mushroom (they use canned mushrooms and it makes the whole pizza soggy).
My bf and I went and got gourmet pizza in the theater district one time, and it was absolutely delicious and only $4. But the ENTIRE time we were eating, both of us just grumbled about how we could have gotten an entire pie at 2 Bros. :) -

Best dollar slice in midtown hands-down.
-
Review from Alex B.
Jackson Heights, NY
Let's be clear, Obama. This pizza is cheap. Real cheap for a buck per slice. It tastes great, like damn amazing...for dollar pizza. I mean if you paid like 3 bucks for that slice it wouldn't be worth it, but a dollar? That's cheaper than a pack of Orbitz gum. Think about that. That's cheaper than a soda. Cheaper than most bottled water.
So okay, what's in it? What's in the cheapo pizza? Is the crust real or does it have emulsifiers and preservatives? Don't know. Is the cheese real dairy or is it made from vegetable shortening? And if it's real dairy is it like Kraft's American Singles or is it like real mozzarella? Don't know. Don't know.
You see where I'm going with this? A burger at McDonalds is really tasty for a dollar. But in terms of nutritional value, all you get is a buncha salt. Same goes for this pizza. Now that doesn't mean I'm not gonna eat it. It's cheap and good. But I know that when I put that pizza in my belly, it's just a place holder until I get some real food in there.
