This place was great! The staff was very friendly, the coffee was better than average, and the simple food was perfect and priced right.
I would definitely swing by here again. -

Lively. Bustling with customers.
Lots of outdoor natural lighting shining in through the floor to ceiling windows.
Individual tables as well as some larger community study tables.
I ordered a Large Coffee from Honduras. It had so much flavor it didn't need a thing!
Some plugs for laptops, wifi for customers.
A tiny, but clean restroom.
Toys for children to play while mommy/daddy sip their brews or respond to emails. Community board with list of events.
Band performances and open mics happening here.
Lots of free parking in the back.
Basic pre-cooked, and easy to prepare foods (no actual kitchen).
Oatmeal, granola, bagel sandwiches, gourmet ice pops, wine and beer.
BEAUTIFUL and shiny espresso machine.
Watercolor paintings and drawings adorn the walls.
Very bright and colorful interior.
Lively instrumental music plays loudly but non-intrusively adding to the ambiance. -

The cappucino was very good; though a little cool for my taste. The latte was also very good. I would have liked there to be less foam in the latte, as it classically should have none; it could have also been hotter.
Counter service was great. I was quick to take a coffee card and toss it down, only by the smell of the espresso and the satisfactory service. Apparently, I'm espresso starved in my particular habitat.
I did not have a chance to sit down. The decor was unique. Hand-written menus hanging up, add to this intimate cafe lounge. -

Great cafe with friendly service. I spilled my coffee and they were very nice about it. I enjoyed the peanutbutter cookie.

This coffeehouse has nice relaxing seating. It is much better then sitting in a 'food court' style coffee chain. I would like to sit and relax - not feel like I am on display in the mall.
You are also shopping local! -

Some coffee spots are part coffee house, part live music venue. Some are half coffee spot, and half sandwich place. 2 Alices is 2/3 day care and 1/3 coffee place. Seriously.
As I write this, there are eight children in here. Two are fighting, one is nursing, two are smashing trucks into one another, while the other three are climbing a couch trying to get to some magazines on the top shelf. None of them are being quiet. Well, the kid with a nipple in its mouth is. Hell, I would be too.
So much for getting much work done, but they do have free wifi (read my Fiddlestix review), so I immediately stuck on the headphones and cranked up Zeppelin's III.
Alice and Alice, if you're real people, you get two stars: one for free wifi, and one for my blueberry muffin. The soy chai was decent, blame Yelp for not letting me give you half a star. The staff was pleasant, even smiling when having to clean up a latte some kid knocked off a table. I only sometimes tip at coffee places but I gave the dude my change and even stuck and extra buck in the mug as I left. So, there's that. -

Terrific combination of a lounge and a café. Beer and wine, as well as coffee of all kinds. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff was very friendly and helpful when I visited, and the iced mocha was delicious! Nice location as well.

Is it possible to pour 5 stars into a reusable ceramic cup? Yes, if you go to 2 Alices Coffee Lounge. One of the best cuppas I have had in a long while. I love their front wall of glass shop, their homey cozy vibe, the art on the walls, and their espresso machine. That machine is a work of art! Definitely the coffee highlight on our HV coffeehouse quest. We nearly turned around to go back and get another. It will be a destination when on the other side of the River. As we were heading for lunch nearby we passed on their pastries and other perfect cuppa parings. Gluten free Biscotti? Yes, please. And with the snow (!) falling outside on this third day of Spring I would love a 2 Alices coffee right about... NOW!

I love the pots of tea you can order here - real teapots for real tea! I haven't diverged from ordering the Jasmine Pearl. Quite possibly the most divine tea in the universe.
In good weather I sit outside with my dogs and watch the world go by.
Only giving it four stars because, as someone else mentioned, I've also been here when the place looks more like a daycare. -

I would give this place a solid four if it was in any larger city, but 2 Alices is an absolute treasure for the Cornwall area. The only other coffee shop in the area is Caffe Macchiato in Newburgh, which is only about 10-15 minutes away.
An entire wall of the cafe is completely comprised of glass windows, so it's great for gazing outside and enjoying the sunlight streaming in. There are several tables and a wrap-around sofa on the other end of the shop. There are even toys for children.
They have a large coffee and special drinks menu. My husband and I ordered the mocha hazelnut latte and the black ninja tea latte (how could I NOT order a drink with a crazy name like that?). They were both on the sweet side, but my husband enjoyed it. It was the perfect spot to read the weekend newspaper and surf the web (they have free wi-fi!).
We didn't try any of their food items, but I'm sure I'll get the chance during the many times I return to this place. We found out that there is a trivia night on Thursdays at 8pm, so we want to check that out as well. -

We stopped in to get a beverage at 2 Alices Coffee Lounge. I ordered a large (16 oz.) Soy Chai Tea Latte to go. I paid an outrageous price of $8.65 for two 16 oz. drinks I began to drink my beverage as I walked out, only to have to turn around and have them fix my watery beverage as it tasted like nothing more than hot soy milk and colored water. The server poured out some of the beverage and then poured their cold Chai Tea from a pitcher into a steaming cup and heated it up after which he added it to my beverage. This did not resolve the problem of the flavorless so called Chai Tea as if you add something that is already watered down it still lacks flavor.
It is such a shame that I have had this experience as the coffee and iced tea I have had in the past have been good. Was this an off day or have they pushed their prices up to outrageous and cut back on adding the appropriate amount of product to their drinks??? -

We stopped here for a quickie dinner after spending the afternoon at Storm King. We'd spied it on the way into the park, and decided we would rather have a bite here than go somewhere more restaurant-y.
The food options are limited, but filled us up: mac & cheese plain, mac & cheese with salsa, and a vegan gluten free snack bar thing. Everything was delicious. The coffee was good, and there were many delicious looking tea options. The counter staff (including the owner) were all very friendly and nice to chat with.
Definitely check out the drawing in the bathroom! -

Love love love love love! I am making my way through the latte menu and almost everything has been delicious. My favorites so far are pumpkin spice and mocha hazelnut. I appreciate that they have decaf espresso.
The atmosphere is very laid back and everyone is so friendly. I stop in several times a week to just kick back and unwind. -

This place is great! Very small lounge in a residential neighborhood but that is part of the charm. The cashier recommended an iced hazelnut latte with and added shot and almond milk. It was good but I forgot I don't like hazelnut flavoring lol! But I tried to look past it and I still enjoyed it. Plus I ordered their chocolate chip muffin! OMG it was so moist and chocolatey, it was the best muffin EVER! The atmosphere is very chill. You can sit inside or outside. Free WiFi is a bonus! And even if you don't have a screen to stare at you can stare at the walls because they are filled with beautiful artwork! And besides, who doesn't love a place that has Christmas lights up all year long!?

Best place to get coffee in Cornwall on Hudson. Free wifi, board games and daily papers to read. Ever-changing art on the walls. Pretty nice beer and wine list for a coffee joint. They often have performers on friday/saturday nights that are very entertaining.

Not sure if there's another coffee house in Cornwall but I don't think it needs one. This place is great as is the espresso.

This is the ONLY place where I drink coffee. Its the tastiest by far. The atmosphere is nice, good music, nice seating. Some days when I work from home, I'm actually working there, get the coffee in the AM, soup or mac & cheese for lunch. A great place in COH.

taking a drive up to beautiful cornwall- this was a great place to stop and have a killer cup of coffee...I don't think there were any other coffee shops in town. I used to look forward to 2 Alices as a destination and it was a 5 star place......but something has changed. The coffee is still good but the atmosphere feels really vacant where it used to feel cozy and cool. It has a more conservative feel and maybe that is why the food doesn't taste as great.....Oh well - I will still stop by for a great cup of coffee- or maybe it just seems better in the summer?

Cornwall, NY
Lost its charm. 2 Alices has gone from great to awful over the course of a few months. I'm a local and used to enjoy dropping in....the coffee is terrific. But, the furniture is now oversized tables, which are ugly and uncomfortable, and the music is so LOUD AND PIERCING it's impossible to speak or enjoy the coffee inside, and the managers are TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS. They think they are running a college bar. In a few months they'll wonder why they are out of business.

This wonderful little coffee shop is a one of a kind. They use local organic products as much as possible and have free wifi. The only downside is the place is not that well air conditioned. I'm a return customer and will continue to visit while I am in the area.

I go here all the time. Prices are reasonable, music is choice and very very importantly, coffee is good. They also have board games on hand. Board games! I love small town hospitality.

It is a beautiful drive from the Storm King Sculpture Park to this shop. The decor of this shop is very present. Art collections is interesting to visit. The coffee serve here are acceptable. The tea was refreshing. Interesting is the corner of the shop set as s mini stage to let young musicians for try out. Would like to go back for visit..

I lived in the NW for 10+ years and 2 Alices would be up at the top of the list with the other independent coffee shops we came to know and love. This is a great place to relax, the coffee is wonderful and their homemade granola bars and oatmeal are excellent. A perfect stop or place to relax and it is great to see the community there at all times.
