1up.com is like myspace for gamers. So those who're too geeky to be popular on myspace can come to 1up. The more active you are the more points you get. I'm currently a genome soldier with about 30,000 points. What the points are for, I have absolutely NO idea.

The site used to be focused on the users, they even had "blog of the day" feature, very much like yelp's review of the day. I even made some friends and met a lot of them at Ziff Davis 1up booth at E3. One of the guys I knew from 1up was even featured on G4's Attack of the Show recently. I thought that was pretty cool.

It seems like they're more focused on the articles now and I'm not as active on the site anymore, but I had some good experiences that I would not have experienced if had it not for 1up. And I met some really good people through 1up and I'm really thankful for that.

Man, I really let my geek out, didn't I?
