This is listed in the San Jose Mercury News map of holiday light displays. The sites are self-reported and the owner (I imagine) listed their house with 9,000 lights.
So we went to check it out last night. 9,000 really isn't that many. It's like 90 strings of your usualy 100 light strings. There are a lot of lit figures on the lawn purchased from home and garden stores. The highlight for me was the "number of days until Christmas" sign which is updated daily. I also liked the lit colored balls about 1 1/2 times the size of a softball hanging from the trees.
If I made this display I'd be pretty proud. But really it doesn't deserve a drive out of the way from Highway 101. In fact we saw other houses just on the way back to Woodside Rd. that had just as many lights.Listed in: I'm Dreaming of a Light…
