Pot stickers here are the win, friendly staff, good portions. I'd eat there again for sure.

One of the few good Chinese places in the near northwest burbs. Some of the dishes are more authentic and some are Americanized so there's something for everyone.
The egg rolls and the spicy mustard was pretty good. I would skip the "chips" which are leftover fried wanton strips and sweet sauce.
The entrees were very good- the best orange chicken I have had for a while- it was spicy and had real orange rind which was slightly bitter. The shrimp fried rice has decent sized shrimp instead of the super tiny ones. The beef chow fun was good although not a dish that is good reheated. Perhaps the best and most unusual dish was the rainbow duck which was marinated with mixed vegetables.
The service was alright but nothing special. The wasn't much ambiance but the food was good and reasonably priced. -

I once ordered plain rice to go. It was good.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST Chinese restaurant in the area! We hunted and were so pleasantly surprised with the food and service we recieved here!
The best Orange Chicken I've had in years, with just the right amount of chilis. MMMMM! Egg rolls that didn't scare my kids! I'm very picky about egg rolls, and was very pleased when I tried theirs.
The sweet 'n sours are great! Mongolian beef & chicken are yummy! Chicken fried rice is so tasty and loaded with chicken, a meal by itself!
The restaurant is family owned and operated, they do close down around, Thanksgiving (I think) for a week so they can go on a vacation, but other than that... I have never had a complaint!Listed in: Eats & Drinks by me

Used to be better. Now they charge $2.50 for a pot of hot TEA.
We ordered 3 dishes one of them used to come with a white sauce. now we got both dishes with a dark sauce. Somehow did not seem like the right thing to do. Mushu beef was not bad, but a little salty. We will not be returning. -

This is a great Chinese restaurant. Excellent food, service, and nice people. Also fast service for eating in or taking out.

Pretty decent Chinese food. Not something I would write home about or that I would take a Chinese family member, but still it's consistent "American Chinese" food.
We ordered the egg rolls (good, what I expected; slightly peanutty flavor), won ton soup (tasty), chicken fried rice for the baby (he gobbled it up especially the chicken). My husband got the Hung Shew Tofu, which wasn't what he expected, but it wasn't bad. I got Beef with Broccoli, which was fine.
We got delivery which was very fast. To recap: your standard Chinese food. -

Have been ordering from here for 12 years food is ok but after all the money spent here can I get noodles instead of rice???? NOOOOOOO!!!! Maybe they cost a little more??? Ok I've offered a dollar more... Nope can't do it!!!!! Buy a 5$ order with shrimp pork or beef... HELLO it's 2011 can find 20 other places with as good of food or better. They are mid level at best...

168's menu is varied and has a great selection of vegetarian specialties as well as meat and seafood dishes. Great prices. Dinner servings are large, and almost always cover lunch the next day. It's a family-run place and the service is fast and friendly. It's on the SW corner of Ballard and Greenwood in Niles, between Dominicks and Blockbuster, but inside, it's clean and bright, and the lace curtains help you forget the shopping center location.

Definitely one of the better Chinese food restaurants in the northwest suburban area. I recently moved to this area from the south loop area, and the quality of their food is comparable to that of the food in Chinatown and the downtown area. The service is quick, efficient, and friendly. I have become a regular weekly customer. Very glad to have found this gem!

I ordered 4 basic things like fried rice, kung pao chicken etc.
Every one of the items sucked. Noodles soggy, overcooked, beef dry, chicken has too much fatty tissues (Yuck).
I had a good impression about 168 from before they were closed. Now I'll not go back.
P.S.: They charge extra for hot sauce (Not cool) -

I was really looking forward to this place after reading the reviews, and "Meh. I've experienced better." really does describe my experience. The restaurant was physically cold. And empty. And you'd figure the service would be better. But you'd figure wrong.
The eggrolls were iffy. The potstickers were worse. And the Mongolian beef was just barely passable.
The only real savior is that there aren't any really good Chinese places around, so, if you're in Niles, well, this is your place. -

Great Chinese Restaurant. The atmosphere was quite authentic as they have traditional lucky Chinese ornaments scattered. The food was delicious. They have a great variety of authentic Chinese dishes along with Americanized dishes to suite those not daring. Service was excellent as I ways always waited upon. My only beef is that they did not offer 'dim sum'. Other than that this Restaurant is a definite hot spot on the regular for me & my wife.
