I'm a fan b/c they are close to my house and delivery is FAST!!
The menu is extensive offering different regional asian flavors but we stick to the basics and always order veggie fried rice making sure to add bean sprouts and water chestnuts....YUM! Rice portions are HUGE as are the soups. I have tried a tofu dish from here before and didn't care for the tofu and they don't give you a good variety of veggies...just broccoli, carrots and lots of celery. I like celery but not that much!!
I prefer whole fresh mushroom over canned straw mushrooms and chinese cabbage or bok choy, none of which they offer so they are kinda skimpy on vegetable selection.
The sweet and sour chicken is pretty good, standard decadent fried crispy pieces of chicken, again, they give you a huge amount. One complaint is the sweet and sour sauce on the to go order always arrives cold? That bugs me!
White rice has a lovely fragrant aroma and is always nice and moist, not dried out like other places. The people are super nice too:-) -

I only get delivery from here. The service is great, the food's delish. It's a favorite on Friday nights with my crew. Try the mango chicken and the pork bun.

I have to ding a star. Honestly, I'd like to ding a lot of stars.
I tried to order for pick-up yesterday around 6:30p. 168 Beijing advertises being open until 10p on Sundays.
The phone rang about 8 times, someone connected the call (I hesitate to say they "answered"), put the phone down on the counter top and left it there until I gave up and hung up.
When I called back a few minutes later, the line was still off the hook.
Apparently the Sunday evening staff at 168 expect to have a silent shift and will do anything to keep it that way.
I'm happy to help them with that. I ordered from Hunan Hut instead and was perfectly happy with the food I got.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I have never ordered dinner from this restaurant, after today I won't order even lunch anymore. We ordered 3 different things, and they were all floating in greas(yes, literally floating) and extra sweet sauces. I went back to claim about a meal that was spread with a very sweet sauce, while it was supposed to be spicy(yes, spread, I could see the draging of the tool) and their customer service is the worse. All they told me is that I AM THE ONLY PERSON WHO DO NOT LIKE IT AND THEY WON'T LOSE MONEY. Well, guess what, that just lost them a customer. After today's sweet galore on All our 3 meals we won't order again. My husband is Chinese, and today's meal does not remotely taste to anything he's ever eaten. Two thumbs down to this place, and less than 1 star.

Love this place! Only Chinese restaurant that delivers in my area and I was thankful that they were good. Always nice, delivers within a decent time frame, and the combination lo mein is so tasty!!!!! Love these guys!!!!
Also, my fiancee go bike riding on Sundays and we ride to 168 Beijing and sometimes we get there an hour early and the people see us there and they open early for us. They are so sweet. They have a lot of love and respect for regulars! -

Just thought to post a review as I was finishing a steaming hot plate of Kung Pao chicken from 168 Beijing. Wow!
Everyone who lives in this little corner of the loop knows that the restaurants in the area are depressingly lacking. Every time a new building goes up I pray that something delicious will come about but it's always a new fast food joint or a lousy chain.
Well, when 168 Beijing appeared, my husband and I had to try it and were so glad we did. I agree with a former poster that it doesn't QUITE match Bellaire's Chinese food but, for Chinese-American, it's probably my favorite. Everything comes out piping hot, the ingredients are remarkably fresh, and the seasoning is just right. The dumplings are filled with fresh pork and lots of crunchy green onions. The Kung Pao chicken is filled with bright vegetables and a tossed in a perfectly spiced sauce. The Wonton Soup is very good but it is lacking something... seasoning I think.
They deliver to the nearby area (my "lazy night" self is ever so grateful) and their service is prompt and friendly.
168 Beijing certainly can't make up for the lack of acceptable restaurants in the area but it's nice to have at least one that gets me excited! -

We've gotten a few menus left on our door from these folks, and yet the only time I've tried them so far was when Jim M. brought me home some takeout one night. It was pretty good. But when I am looking for this kind of Chinese-American food, I am looking for delivery. As is the case right now, someone in the house should be sick (I mean I'd prefer not, but it seems to be a pattern in our house), and everyone in the house must be wearing pajama pants. That's how I know it's Chinese delivery order time.
We needed something spicy to clean out Jim's head (er, yeah) so I asked for the veggie tofu made spicy, and an order of kung pao tofu to go with that- both dishes to split. Oh, and some veggie egg rolls, because I have an egg roll problem. Both dishes were quite good- the tofu was firm and prepared skillfully The veggies were great looking- not the usual fare that I eat around.
For delivery Chinese-American, I say 'oh yes'. If I ran the place, I'd add a ton more vegetarian options. But that's my M.O. -

HELL NO.
How the hell do you cook fried rice without carrots or any of the essential ingredients? I mean, all you did was put some egg, too much soy sauce, pork, and rice? Lazy ass fried rice? If you can't get the basics right, then I can't count on you to do anything else right. I regret the day I even thought about ordering from your ass.
Bootleg ass chinese food that you should avoid like the plague. -

Great food and service.
We always order to go so I can't tell you what dining in is like.
Their kung pao tofu is unreal. Great option.
Mongolian beef is a big hit as well. -

This is my new go-to Chinese delivery. Being new to the neighborhood, my husband and I have done some serious searching for new places to eat. This place is at the top of the list. We got 2 chicken dishes with fried rice, cream cheese puffs, and egg rolls. There was enough food for at least 4. The price was pretty good and delivery was very speedy. The chicken was very tender and the General Tso's was actually chicken and not just fried breading! Everything was still piping hot when it go to the house. We will definitely order here again. We had seen this place from time to time when visiting family in the area and of course curiosity finally won out, then after perusing the previous reviews we took the plunge.
We LOVED this place. The staff were wonderful, friendly, efficient, and very quiet.
The food was very tasteful, well seasoned (although the spice could have been amped up some with extra peppers), presented well and virtually finger lickin' good. Will definitely have to ask for extra spice the next time.
There were three of us in the party and could have ordered one less entree and that would have had enough food and then some but we ordered for three. In addition, we also ordered two starters, the mushu pork and the pan fried dumplings, also pork.
Both starters were extremely tasty, well cooked and were consumed poste haste. One of the party ordered the dragon and phoenix (after we had to ask what it was as it didn't denote that on the menu), one member ordered the general tso's chicken, another the mongolian chicken.
Since the dragon and phoenix consisted of general tso's chicken we ended up with two orders of the same dish and should have realized that but didn't. The dragon and phoenix also came with honeyed-breaded shrimp that was just mind blowing in its taste (although could have cooked just a little less as the shrimp were a tad over cooked and the generals chicken was the same way). The mongolian chicken was tender, scrumptious, and full of onions and peppers.
All of the flavors were spot on and the food was delivered fast and hot to the table. After dinning we received peeled orange slices simply arranged on a small plate. We enjoyed those very much, they made a nice ending to the dinner.
We did notice that the dine-in clientele mainly consisted of senior citizens and wondered why the younger crowd had not discovered this gem of an eatery.
For all of this food we left spending just around 40 bucks and even took quite a bit home with us. We were most happy and will be back to try the complete menu entree by entree. -

I think I have finally found a chinese place close to my house that is edible. I hate the places near me, they taste like crap so I usually just drive up to Bellaire and get the real stuff.
This place just opened earlier in the month and had such a weird name that I felt a stop in to try was worth it. With a name like 168 Beijing, they obviously were not catering to generic crap, cause that place would go by magic wok or some crap like that. When we went in we realized that this was in the space of this mexican place we tried once and never went back to. Same tables, bar, even the modello branded insert holder on the tables. Luckily, the food this time was good.
I have had 5 dishes from 168 and all of them were fine. The best was the szechuan bean curd with minced beef that had an amazing sauce, the dish was a star. The hot and sour soup was the best in the immediate area and for the americanized stuff, the Mushu was as good as found up in the north east (havent come across a ton here in Houston).
Good food, sketchy strip mall on the northbound side of the road, but well worth a stop if you need some chinese food and have no desire to go out to Bellaire. -

GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE!! This place is awesome! We had driven by it 1000 times and never thought twice since it is in a sketchy shopping center!!
The best take-out we have had in a long time! The menu is great and they will also make stuff to order!!!
Perfect for PJ and movie night! -

Been wanting to try this new hole in the wall off of S. Post Oak and wasn't disappointed. We started off with wonton soups. Broth didn't have as much flavor as I'd like but the dumplings more than made up for it. We had Chicken with Veggies and Mongolian Beef and both were above average in my opinion. By far one of the best local Chinese Restaurants in the Westbury Area.
Finally a Chinese place that deliveries!! And Open till 11pm during the week for those late night cravings.
Looking forward to trying a few more dishes! -

They have a decent selection. Most take out places don't offer walnut shrimp etc... however, the food tasted old and dirty, especially the vegetable dishes... I've definitely had better. Probably won't go there again.

We ate there last night and it was great. Service was prompt. We all had a small bowl of Wonton soup. Great start. Excellent wontons, though I probably should have gotten the House version (bit more expensive) as I prefer some veggies with mine.
We also ordered Mushu Pork and Pork Dumplings as appetizers and it was excellent. I could have just eaten those.
We all ordered different plates. There were seven us. I forget what all we got, but you can share as the servings are pretty large. Menu is quite robust, something for just about anyone. We ordered, ate our soup and appetizers and a short bit later food arrived. I had the Curry Shrimp. Was excellent. Was not spicy at all, as they show in the menu, even though I told them to make it extra spicy. Had to doctor it with other hot sauces. None of the spicy plates seemed that spicy to me, though I do have a high tolerance. No one complained about it being to spicy hot. Still tasted great.
We all enjoyed our meals and it was fairly reasonable considering we all left with a doggy bag. I just ate the rest of my Curry Shrimp and rice for dinner tonight!
It may have a strange name and be in an odd little strip center, but the food was great and the service was good, too. Friendly, pleasant atmosphere. -

We got a menu today on our door and we thought we would give it a try. We haven't been in love with any Chinese restaurants in the area, but we have now found a place that we love! Most places have a few good dishes but either the rice or egg rolls just aren't that fabulous... I have to say that every dish we got was wonderful! The beef with mushrooms had to be my favorite! I'm so happy we found some good Chinese food in the area. We ordered 3 dishes and fried rice and the bill was only $30, which is a total plus... And I think we could probably feed ten people on the leftovers! I will for sure be ordering again from here.
