I have come and eaten here a few times for friends birthdays and NYE dinner. I didn't order the food but each time I have been here it's been a bounty of endless food coming to the table. Really amazing sides, sauces and meats. I swear I must gain at least 3 pounds trying to eat everything on the table.
From what I remember each time there was a DJ and I'm not sure if that is normal for this location but the DJ they did have was a resident on a radio show and was mixing music from hip hope to dance. The vibe to me seemed like a club with dinner because everyone gets up and dances to the music. The service is great and were really accommodating to us by let us bring in our own birthday cake.
I can't write about the bottle service but I know the drinks are really strong and that's how I like them.
I don't know if it is required but I would call to make reservations. It was so much fun and somewhere I would recommend.
The chicken, steak and lamb were mouth watering good!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT 162 PALMS.
AWFUL OWNERS, UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF. OUTRAGEOUS DRINK PRICES
WILL NOT ADHERE TO SIGNED AGREEMENT/CONTRACT.

I am a retail store owner around the corner. One of the "partners/owners" wandered into my store one night and we got to talking about this place (you're neither a partner nor owner - you have no idea what that would entail; you're just a lackey for the unpro Armenian men that actually own it). So after weeks of pure B.S. and hassle with this guy, I was finally able to secure one night for a live event. Because of this shiftiness, I made a point to write a out a thorough agreement with the amenities, services and equipment that would be provided by the venue (you know, the proper, honest way to do business?).

    What a mistake.

Might have something to do with the fact that I'm a woman (we're substandard in their eyes even though I could run circles around him regarding his business practices), but they backed out on everything we had previously agreed to.
When we walked in on our night, they didn't have anything prepared for us. At all. Biggest problem was, my event was almost cancelled because they didn't have any of the sound or DJ equipment they said they provide! Instead I got "Oh, the DJ is on his way." He never showed and the "bro" that showed up was a total jerk, again, talking down to me because in his culture, women don't know what they're talking about but more importantly did NOT PROVIDE DJ EQUIPMENT.

    THANKFULLY,
I own all my own equipment and gear, so, in lieu of CANCELLING the entire event I'd been kicking my ass promoting for 2 solid months, I lugged down 2 entire systems to get the job done and opened over an hour late.

Other items they backed out of from the contract:
no video screens provided (we can't play dvds, only mp3s on the screen..huh?)
    wouldn't turn dance lights on.
    fog machine not provided
drink specials were not announced - I chased the owner around all night, and he kept saying he would "lose money at the bar" if he gave the 15 minute drink specials that were agreed to and PRINTED ON MY FLYERS as per our agreement.
turned on lights and closed us down at 12:45 instead of 2am.

Also, board of Health hadn't been by there since 2008 - so I have no idea how clean their kitchen was that was providing our "$1.50 chicken tacos".
My advice after this ordeal is to stay far away from this place - they'll go under soon enough with the way they underhandedly "run" things there.

Came here in hopes of having a fun night out, but instead we got a night of BLARING music and service that was unenjoyable. For a friday night it was empty. Literally no one was there. We were trying to come here for a birthday, but we were so dissapointed that we were considering leaving. The music was too loud for such a small space that my ears ended up hurting. My boyfriends ears were ringing and trying to have a conversation in this place was pointless. At one point we were sitting outside freezing, and the people didn't offer to turn on the heaters for us. I didn't order food because they wanteed to chargge 27/person + additional hookah. The bar they have seems pretty undesirable.

Overall I WOULD NEVER COME HERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT.
it's too bad though the place had potential but the experience was miserable.

I was here for a friend's birthday. The management here sucks...everything is shady. There is a half-assed bar, and for the first half of the night there was no DJ, but a playlist on repeat.

First off, they charge a $27 minimum for every guest if you plan on ordering a dinner plate and/or any alcoholic drink ($18 if just appetizers). We had appetizers (fries and cucumber yogurt dip) which were average at most. They don't allow hookah inside, which wasn't very accommodating for large birthday group.

Besides the appetizers, I had one shot of "Grey Goose"...which was watered down extremely.

This place tries to rip you off for sub-par food and service. We weren't even allowed to split the bill. Disaster. Never going back.

Ok, this place as a club has potential, but was whacckkk when I went and probably every other day. I went with a friend who's other friend was spinning on a Friday. There was maybe fifteen people there and they were all very strange.... Kind of scary in a creepy way like hostel or something. They charge $10 bucks for shots and $190 for bottle service (lmfao) bottle service, really!? Hahaha ok whatever, gotta start somewhere I guess. The parking was very limited, the staff is cool though. They gave me and my buddies a free beer at last call for no reason at all. That's what you call customer service. They have hookah if you like that type of thing. Like I said, potential but atch'all.

However, this place as a restaurant.... holy baba gannuj batman. The food is off the hummus and i swear the waiter who had a beer gut and a bow tie was doing the dougie bwahaha great food+entertainment=good combo. I gave it 3 stars, but would like to make it 3.5 if they'd let me.

i was there for a birthday the food was amazing! Great drinks! I wasnt able to try the hooka but the place was all rented out no one had hooka. I didnt like the one man service as a waiter poor guy had to tend to soo many people and he actually droped my drink.. luckily wasnt wine! But all in all I considered a party here which would be great just the seating would be hard for people to not bump chairs kinnda annoying. Large enough dance floor but can get loud with the DJ cause its a small room inside. As far as all these managment complaints.. who ever sees the manager when you go places? why? uh beats me! Parking on the street if there isnt any in the lot. Big sign you really cant miss the place!

I attended the Alpha Gamma Sigma Scholarship Banquet at this restaurant. I can honestly say that I have no complaints whatsoever. The location was a little tricky, especially if you're getting off the freeway, you would have to make a u-turn at some point, I forget which street, but that's really irrelevant. But the sign for the restaurant is so massive that you'd have to be blind to miss it. This is a plus!

Upon entering, I really loved the setting and atmosphere. In terms of seating, you can either just go for the normal chair, or the couches that go around some of the tables. This I liked. The ceiling was really interesting looking, and had black-lights as opposed to regular lights, which made me glow, because I was wearing white, hahaha. This I loved! The actual restaurant is small, so it's more suitable for a smaller gathering for about 30 to 40 people. However, it is very cozy and comfortable, no awkward lighting that makes you look bad, and just well good. Haha. Oh and, for those who enjoy the great outdoors, they also have patio seating, especially for you!

The tables were already set with the usual Armenian/Middle Eastern/? appetizers when we arrived. My friend and I immediately reached for the hummus. Not because it was amazing hummus though, just because it was hummus. I wish they had different types of bread, as opposed to just pita bread. However, I do have to compliment them on the salad. I'm not much of a salad eater, in fact I avoid salads at all cost, but this particular salad looked so fresh and appetizing, with those large slices of cucumbers, red bell peppers, and feta cheese... I was sold. It was delicious, very very delicious. Especially if you dipped it in hummus. We dipped everything in hummus. Other things I tried: The I believe eggplant appetizer, which tasted great, and the khachapouri, which always tastes great (dip it in hummus).

Soon, the actual food food arrived. This consisted of the regular mass of xorovats, rice, and the unusual addition of french fries. Since I am still in that weird transition between carnivore and herbivore (yes, I realize my last review was about orange chicken, we all falter), I did not try any of the meat. In fact, I can only think of one person who actually ate meat on our table. At any rate! I'm sure it was good, but not great, because restaurant xorovats never really is great, because it never has a father's sweat seeped into it, which, let me tell you now, is the secret ingredient. The rice was rice, not amazing rice, but not bland inedible rice either, so I suppose it was just okay. The fries were a bit on the salty side, but still very good, I would say Burger King good, but not any better.

The waiters/waitresses seemed very on top of everything, with a good energy. No complaints there. Everything that was asked for was received, and received promptly.

If I were to rate the physical aspect of the restaurant, everything minus the food, I would give this place a solid four. But food included, because it didn't necessarily blow my mind, this place was a 3+, an A-OK. But I may just be biased because I'm Armenian and I'm so accustomed to eating this stuff, so people who are not may rate higher. The point I'm trying to make is that a 3+ rating from me is actually a really good rating, meaning I would return again at some point in life. I had an amazing night celebrating the conclusion of the Spring 2010 semester with the people I've spent so much time working with, and 162 Palms Restaurant & Lounge played a critical role. Thank you! Thus I conclude my always lengthy, but somehow helpful (I hope) review.

Hosted our Annual Scholarship Banquet here and I was impressed by the facilities. Getting to the location was a bit of a maze since it used to be called Atlantis and it is located on a street that you would need to make a you turn on.

The owner was very accomodating with all of our needs. The tables were set up right, everything looked great and the servers attended to all of the requests our guestrs had.

Appetizers were plentiful, hummus, grape leaves, youghurt dip, cilantro and sour-cream....yummy. The food was awesome too. Choice of Chicken, Pork and Beef accompanied by Rice & French Fries.

They also have a full bar! And there is an outdoor area with fire-pits !!!
