    Maybe once in a while.

The Pizza Place is not something you would expect coming out of NYC, especially if you live in the city. This isn't the pizza you'd expect be the famous New York slice, but none the less, it is what it is. With that being said, the pizza here is nothing but cheap pizza. But at 1.50 a slice, can you really complain?

The pizza is very reminiscent of elementary school pizza. The dough was slightly chewy and soft, as if the sauce got soaked. The sauce was subpar, almost like it was canned. The cheese was salty, fairly rough, and felt like it was cheese on cold pizza. The only real redeeming feature is the price of the slice, for that, you get what you pay for.

Pizza by the slice that isn't quite as bad as it looks, though it is not great either.  The sauce has some maturity to it, and I enjoyed it.  The crust was like cardboard, and the cheese was salty but otherwise flavorless.  The pepperoni was not memorable either.  Slices are advertised as $1.50 each, but in reality that only applies to a plain slice of pizza.  If you want a slice with a topping, and all of the ones I saw had toppings, then you pay the extra $1.  Service was quick and friendly.

If you're in a hurry and don't mind trading quality over price, then 14th Street Pizza Place is the place for a quick $1.50 cheese pizza slice.

The crust was so-so not crunchy after it was reheated. At $1.50 its much cheaper than Frank's on 1st Ave but not as good so there's a trade-off you have to consider.

As Elliot had already mentioned, the store was very small with only 3 bar stools. There was only 2 selections: cheese and pepperoni. They had a deal for 2 slices & 1 soda/water for $3.75

A quick slice but definitely one of the smallest pieces I've gotten from a place like this. Furthermore, I feel like I got gypped out of cheese!

If I'd never stopped inside and bought some pizza, I never would've thought this place was real.
The 14th Street Pizza Place's sad little store front stares onto the street and nary a passer-by seems to notice.  I went in there one day last week, in the mood to "roll the dice" and came up with snake-eyes.  My slice of cheese was approximately 30% smaller than my slice of pepperoni; but I suppose that's okay, considering my slice of pepperoni also cost $1.75 more than my slice of cheese.  So if you're keeping score at home, pepperoni added to a slice of cheese pizza costs more than said cheese pizza by itself.
It's not the worst pizza I've ever had...visit Hartford, CT or Amherst, MA...but by New York standards, it's pretty bad.

I'd also like to add, that while standing waiting for my pizza I was fully expecting Pauly Shore to jump out from behind the pizza oven and say, "Elliott...you got, got!"

This place is one of those late night after too much beer, pizza places.  It's fine for what it is, but it's no gourmet slice.  It's definitely edible, but nothing to write home about.  Perhaps I can celebrate the cheap $1.50 price tag?  Then again, across the street at Crocodile lounge you can get much better pizza free with your beer.   At 3am I might recommend going there instead, and giving the beer away - assuming you've had too many already!
