Busy reviews for this place lately, so here are my two cents.13th Street is my downtown comfort zone. First, and most important, the coffee is the best downtown. Their coffee gets four stars. The fifth star is earned through hilarious staff and regulars, comfortably cluttered counters, local art, music, free books, and the cojones (fegatos?) to try and maintain Italian coffee traditions in the whitest city for 300 miles.

Ambiance is a mixture of cozy and hipster. It's finals time for many of the local colleges, but still managed to find a spot upstairs with lots of outlets and ample seating. Tried their gelato and was convinced to try the creme brulee and lemon together. The flavors themselves were good, but nothing too special. Also got an iced nonfat vanilla latte. Could barely taste the vanilla, but the coffee itself wasn't that bad. The barista was friendly and helped me with the gelato choices. Overall this is a decent coffee shop for some joe or a study area in the Old Market.
Tip: The ice machine is located upstairs. If you are one who likes a quiet environment, then sit away from the machine. As my friend puts it, it sounds like someone is trying to get out. I'm just saying. -

So here is my deal, I live in downtown omaha, love it. Went here, loved it. Staff SUPER friendly. They have a sign outside the place that says hiring, and thought it would be nice to try this as a part time gig to get to know people here in Omaha, and pick up a new trade. Better then a bartender, right?
HOWEVER, after applying, several people told me the owner won't hire men. I found this interesting as that is illegal. There were firemen there that kinda laughed at me when I began protesting that notion with a friend/patron of the place, but even they said, you aren't going to be hired.
So, with that being said, I simply drank my awesome coffee, had my VERY good lunch, and vowed never to come back again. -

Seems like a cool spot. I grabbed a chai latte & a veggie sandwich. Nothing overly special but it's a hipster cafe frequented by many. Agreed with others that service seems a bit rude although I've seen & experienced worse. Credit cards accepted with $5 minimum purchase.

Nice place. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Spacious and free wifi. Plenty of tables, chairs and upstairs, too.
Monkey do a DIRTY SOY CHAI LATTE. It stayed hot forever. Monkey will return on next trip to relax a little longer. -

Without hesitation, the best coffee and coffee drinking atmosphere I've had in greater Omaha area to date.
This is my first yelp review, and I couldn't think of a better place to start. The location is great as they are situated just outside of the dreaded "you'll never get a parking space" area of old market. This means that you get all the people viewing that you can handle, without the hassle.
The setup was great and made for an immediately inviting and friendly feel. Local art is hung and sold right from the walls. There is a good amount of table seating on the main floor, and the upstairs has comfy "I'll be here for awhile" seating and books. It took walking from the door to the counter to realize that I could easily sink in and lose track of time in this place.
I decided to start with a simple latte as you can usually get a good feel for what everything else will taste like from there. I was very pleased to see that the barista made our drinks independently, seemingly with care, and didn't even attempt two at once. Her trouble did not go to waste and I noticed she was quick to the draw to not let the espresso shot 'go bad' by having it sit out more than a couple seconds. I only noticed this because my (now) previous coffee shop of choice's latte always tasted bitter and overpowering. I found out this was because they let their espresso sit out too long while they talked about why PBR is the best beer EVAR. The latte turned out smooth and sweet... but not too sweet.
The service was perfect and the staff was so friendly you would think you had been a daily customer for years. My friend and I couldn't make it to a table before the obvious regulars were introducing themselves and making good conversation.
Over the next few days I returned several times and am yet to be disappointed. I've branched out from a plain latte since, and the quality and taste seem consistent regardless of staff or time of day. They have a nice display of nomable pastries available as well, though I've yet to partake.
If you intend to exchange dead presidents for caffeine, my suggestion is that you do so here. -

My father and I stopped by on our way out of Omaha and just loved this place.
The second floor loft has big couches (although not much room) and the first floor had ample seating. The quirky place felt much bigger than it looked.
Plus, the coffee was great!
The best part is the location. For an out-of-towner, we had coffee and then walked through the old market section of town. It made for a great impression of the downtown area. -

Local coffee shop!!! Need I say more? In the days where Starbucks can basically put anything in a cup and people will drink it, it is nice to see a place stand on it's own and take some pride in both its product and community. Fresh brewed coffee, whole beans, and amazing pastries. Plus you have to love a shop that displays and sells art for local artists.

I am apprehensive about giving 13th Street four stars WITHOUT actually trying the coffee; I've visited twice but it was so hot that I had (good) iced chai lattes both times. Coffee next time!
They definitely get stars for friendly service and a wide offering of drinks and foodstuffs, from bakery items to sandwiches (and vegan options, too). There are lots of tables and chairs and both times I visited, it was quiet.
The shop also has a little gallery action going on with local artwork for sale. -

13th Street coffee is really good stuff. Every time I go there, my coffee tastes the same, unlike other places where I think it tastes different each time I go. Love this coffee shop and definitely recommend it.

This is a nice and cozy little joint. So far I've been here twice and each time the place was pretty empty. The drinks are good like most coffee places and I love the gelato! The decor was pretty cheap and shabby but i don't expect much from a place that doesn't have some sort of corporate backing like Starbucks. The staff was pretty nice each time I was there and they seemed to be pretty efficient. I'm certain I'll come here again.

"friends don't let friends drink starbucks"
that was enough for me. I walked in and ordered my usual drink, a pretty plain, skim milk latte. After my first sip I was puzzled. I usually love local coffee shops and prefer them to starbucks although I am admittedly a starbucks card holder and have given them some serious dough in the past. But still something was wrong with this coffee. Perhaps it was the milk? I just didn't enjoy what i was drinking although it did its job.
The store itself looks nice and cozy and has that quirky feel of a local coffeehouse with a little big of grunge and darkness going on (just dimly lit i suppose). There were groups of people discussing the world outside on their patio of sorts. I'd probably come here for a study sesh if I was in the area. -

Cute place! Got the granita, which hit the spot on a warm summer day. Adam's coffee wasn't as warm as he'd like, but I think he'd probably agree it was four stars for atmosphere and chill factor. Free wifi is always a plus, as is comfy chairs!

One of my old haunts. I used to come here often for coffee and to sit and read. They have several tables for when the weather is nice. Coffee is good.

I like the vibe, a little dark, a little gritty, a little fringe. Panini was decent, as was the smoothie. Also a good place to work from during the day.
