Los Angeles, CA
We recently used 123 Moving & Storage to move from a large suburban home to a smaller and much less accessible three-story in Beachwood Canyon. We knew this would be a challenge but the team, led admirably by Eric, surprised us at every turn with their hard work, great attitudes, and extremely creative solutions to some hairy situations. Our items arrived in tact and well cared for.
We have moved three times in the last two decades. 123 Moving & Storage was far and a way the best moving company we have ever used. We couldn't imagine a better experience. Thanks again! -

I decided to use them on my recent move from Santa Monica to Marina Del Rey. As others mentioned, Jason (owner) comes across as polite and very professional on the phone. I spoke with him about 1 week before my move date and had no problems scheduling with him. As promised, he called 1 day prior to the move to confirm everything. His 3 movers arrived 15 mins early and got right to work. They were very friendly and hard working. I watched carefully and can honestly say they take good care of your belongings. Because I was on the hourly rate, I helped them a bit myself but this was my choice.
My whole move took about 5 hours and cost $540. I also gave each of the movers a small tip. The cost was a bit more than some of the guys on craigslist (and about 20% more than Jason's original estimate)... but these guys did a nice job so i'm ok with that (-1*). They do charge 2% more to use a credit card so keep that in mind. -

I used 123 again when I moved back to the Westside.
The team I had this time -- comprised of Eric, Errol and Ricky (sorry if I messed up your names, guys!) -- was just as efficient as the last and on time.
They did an excellent job packing and unpacking my stuff -- the total time it took to move from Weho to West L.A. was a little over 3 hours.
A few extra touches I appreciated: they were aware of the dent on my coffee table during the last move and took extra care with it this time, I was given a discount as a repeat customer, and they were respectful of the noise since it was an early morning move.
This is the seventh (!) time I've moved in L.A. and the smoothest move. I highly recommend 123 and their services.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Yelp is soooo awesome! I checked Yelp for a moving company/vendor and found this place. I concur with everyone else on the positives: professional, helpful, on time and quick but careful. i highly recommend this company to others!

The team at 123 Moving & Storage deliver! They showed up early, worked fast and methodically. We got done about an hour earlier than we expected. They wrapped and handled all of our belongings with a great deal of care and worked with a smile. I would definitively recommend 123 Moving & Storage if you have to make a home or office move in LA.

Ok, so our move was a bit untraditional...half went to storage, half went to our new house for storage, it sat at both locations for an entire year. After the year was up the guys moved all the storage units back to our new home and, the day before they picked something up from our temporary residence and also brought it to the new house, somehow our 80.00 pick up cost (which is what Jason quoted us) became 250.00. The truck with the few items was suppose to be the truck that they used to start our job the very next morning...they were too lazy or whatever the reason to move the table and dresser off the small truck onto the BIG truck when they got back to the office....maybe so they could charge more money...saying that I needed the "extra truck" ???) SO, they showed up to do our move with a truck with a dining room table and a dresser, and chairs, and NOTHING ELSE IN THE TRUCK...and an huge EMPTY truck...and then CHARGED US FOR TWO TRUCKS! And, that is how our 80.00 pick up of the items from the night before became 250.00. Totally not fair, honest, or what Jason had quoted and promised us. And, to top it off, this was not a cheep move...we spent well over 2000.00 on this move with the two moves etc...and to be so petty and rip us off for 170.00 difference...NOT COOL!
And, after MANY calls back and forth with Jason after he promised to call back... alas no answer back, and he "promised me he would look into it. I admit, he wore me down, and I GAVE UP! SO, I never got my 170.00 back! NOT ETHICAL AT ALL!
UPDATE-May 2012
After writing this review, I was contacted by Jason to rectify the situation.
We discussed it and he agreed to refund the money back for the second truck.
And, yes it was a while ago, so I do not think the details were as fresh in his
mind as they were in mine. Nevertheless, he took it upon himself to contact me
and follow up with me as well as refund us a check for 100.00. This was my email
to him after receiving his email and the refund.
" Dear Jason, Thank you for taking the time now to follow up. I appreciate that
you take the comments seriously, and I hope that in the future if we did have
any moving needs, we could still call you. I do feel that my "voice was heard",
and I am confident that in the future, you will not let it go when someone is
reaching out to you and trying to resolve an issue and be heard at the
time...and not let it go till later on. Everything happens for a reason, and we
have both learned from this I am sure.
Most of the business that we get these days is by word of mouth...so I do get
it. "
After all of this, I again state that the move itself was flawless...and as I
stated to Jason, if in the event we did have moving needs, we would call them
again. Knowing that he took the time to try to rectify this makes us feel
better.
Happy moving!1 Previous Review: Show all »

We have used 123 Moving and Storage twice and both times, from downtown LA to Venice and from Venice to Santa Monica, we had great expereince with Jason and his crew. They are on time, professional and super efficient! We had our entire place pack and moved in one day with ease and grace!
I was very impressed with Jason's personal on-site visit for the estimate, which was very reasonable. They crew worked very hard and they were also very careful with all of furniture. I highly recommend them! -

The worst move of my life!
Not only is the owner, Jason, deceptive, but his employees are too. It took them 11.5 hours ( 4 guys at $125 per hour) to move a 2 bedroom apartment to a new location 30 minutes away. The worst part of this ordeal is that they broke a very valuable statue, and completely placed the blame on me. No offer to repair the item. I take that back, they offered to pay $100 towards the repair of a $1,500 piece. His solution...contact your insurance company and place a claim with them. He suggested that I tell them that the box fell over, and the item was broken.
To add insult to injury, after 11.5 hours they walked off the job and left my couch in the hallway. According to the guys, it was too big to get it through the doors. Funny, how a friend was able to take the door of the hinges, and move the couch into the apartment without causing any damages.
Stay away from this company! -

These guys saved me at the last second last November, when the overpriced Storage in the middle of nowhere quoted an outrageous amount to deliver to my new place in the bay area. They were on time, careful and easy to deal with (unlike the original company). Only glitch was communication with the Billing dept. Like to get things in email up front after bad experiences with other movers. Would recommend them to friends anytime!

I used these guys to move from my parents house in OC to my new 1-bedroom apartment on the West Side. They were professional, very quick, and very careful with my stuff. I have a lot of IKEA furniture and a few pieces had to be taken apart, but they put them back together once we got to my apartment! I also ended up with an extra guy (I requested 2) for no extra charge!
From the initial phone call to the day of the move, I was very happy with their service. I would reccommend them to anyone moving. -

I had a shipment of furniture at a warehouse in Carson, to be delivered and uncrated in Santa Monica. I only had 3 days to get this done, but Jason (the owner of 123 Moving) made it happen!
After discussing the situation, he said, "No problem" and all I had to do was send him the release form, meaning I didn't have to go back down to Carson with his movers to get the furniture.
They charged $90/hr with a minimum of 3 hours. When Jason's guys came here (Errol and Erik - who were sooo fabulous and courteous), they uncrated everything, and helped me unwrap my furniture. Quick and easy...that's what i needed with short notice, and Jason and his guys got it done. (Bonus, they'll take credit cards so no worries about having enough cash on hand at the end of the move)
I'll be definitely keeping these guys in mind if I ever have another move.
Thank you Jason, Errol, and Erik. -

These guys made our moving day a breeze! For us at least.
We were very well packed and ready to go and I think that saved a lot of time and money in the end on moving day.
We moved from a 1 bedroom apartment (2 levels) to a 3 bedroom just a few miles away. They guys took care when they needed to and were very pleasant to work with.
They did an amazing job and I would highly recommend using them.
In the end we spent less than we were quoted. I think that's because we had done all the packing and furniture diss-assembly ourselves.
They were prompt, courteous, efficient, and hard working.
I would highly recommend using their service. -

Hands down the BEST movers I have ever used! They are extremely professional, timely, and honest. I move a lot so, I've seen it all. By far, I have never had a better experience with any other moving company.
Nothing was broken or missing and they got the job done in 1 day. Amazing!
I definitely recommend these guys and I will definitely be using their services again.Listed in: Great Services

These guys are professionals. Yes, it does take time for them to pack up the truck, but if you want your stuff moved safely and efficiently then it needs to be wrapped, taped, and packed carefully. It was very easy to book an appointment and Jason was very responsible in giving me a price and confirming the dates.
They were hours late, but if you've moved in LA, then you know that's always the case, I've never had movers show up right on time. Also, since they were late, they threw in an extra mover for free. The movers worked hard and were careful with my stuff, and they came with all the appropriate forms and contracts.
Best part is, they're honorable. When they were unloading a pin fell off my Aeron chair. Jason took the chair called a specialist and had the whole cylinder replaced on the bottom.
Fact of the matter is if you want to hire movers, it takes time and is expensive. But you're hiring them because they know how to move your stuff efficiently and safely. Once you start looking around there are a lot of people with trucks that say they're "movers." 123 Moving are professionals and do the job right. -

Ok.. show of hands... Who out there in Yelpville enjoys the moving process? Anyone... anyone out there? I thought not!!! Lucklily for those of us that dont, 123 Moving and Storage exists and they make the moving process a whole lot easier on our nerves!
The moving crews I used (I had 1 move into storage and 1 move from storage to residence) were both great! On both occasions they showed up early, were nothing less than professional and were really cool to work with. Special thanks to Jason, the owner for doing a super job in coordinating both moves on short notice and answering any questions that I had during the process.
One thing I do want to point out that you may find helpful. Storage with the company is an off site, restricted access facility. You cannot just go in and swap boxes like you would in a self storage facility. If you need a few things from storage, they will pull the items from storage and you can pick them up at the store over in Santa Monica, but you cannot go to the facility itself for pick up.
I cannot stress enough what a pleasure it was to use 123 Moving and Storage. They simply are the best! -

I recently was moved by 123 Moving and storage. This was the first time I moved on my own, without family helping. The gentleman were calm and helpful, didn't want me to lift a finger and were still efficient and got the job done in a timely matter. They also went beyond the call of duty as far as helping me decide where to put things in my new apartment. They made what could have been an impersonal stressful experience into a pleasure, if that is even possible when you are moving!
I highly recommend this company! -

My move was a month ago. From santa monica to Marina del rey. I choose this company because they were local and the owner sounded very friendly when we first spoke.
They had the highest rate of all that I have searched, but when I spoke to the owner he told me that their movers were very efficient. So I trusted him.
On the moving day, all my stuff were already in boxes and ready to go. I was moving from a 800 sqft 1 bedroom apartment to another 1 bedroom. The movers were very slow . They took their time on everything. They seem already tired when they arrived.
Me and my husband were even carrying stuff to make it faster. It took almost 8 hours for them to finish. Cost us about 800 dollar.. If I went with the Flat rate movers I could have saved 200 dollar and I wouldn't have to stress the whole day.
Also, they broke my tall vase. After the move the owner didn't even call us to ask about the move or talk about the broken vase . After waiting over a week, I called him. He didn't sound as nice as the first time we spoke. He only offered me the half of what the vase was worth.
If you have a lot of money to waste and want to have a very stressful move go ahead and hire them.Comment from Jason C. of 123 Moving & Storage 9/1/2011

A moving experience has everything to do with the movers and the two guys who came out were great. The lead mover was a younger guy who totally knew what he was doing. He actually nailed the move out time nearly exactly and then when I explained that I had to make it to a meeting (something I couldn't not make), he worked with me to figure a strategy so that we could be finished in time. Their time clocking was accurate as well. Only one bowl ended up being broken (fluke as it was padded among other bowls). They didn't charge for any packing extras! (many movers kill you on things like wrap and such.) They have big trucks so there is no time wasted on puzzling how to make stuff fit.
My only caveat is this: When I called for an estimate I don't think I undersold the complexity of the move and I was told 3 hours. However, the end full time was 5 hours. The mover who came, though, said 3 hours right when he got there just to load the truck and he was right and they were not going slowly. I was there helping and a friend helped for a little while just preparing boxes. So - just know that maybe the person giving the phone quotes might be a little optimistic. But I had a hunch since I'd called a couple places and other places suggested 5 hours, so I'm not docking any stars because I'd definitely use these guys again. -

Mr Jason Cohen knows the meaning of service. He took the time to answer all my questions, explain the charges, give me an accurate projection of how much to expect to pay for the entirety of the move and made sure to point out that there were no hidden fees. All inclusive baby. If you're on the west side and it's time to make a big move to another locale, give Jason a call and run him through the gauntlet with any question you may have. He'll have the answer

Didn't hire them, but had to mention my experience. Called on behalf of my sister moving from a 2bd/2bth apartment to a house 7 miles away. I was told over the phone $110/hr for 3 guys/1 truck, plus $50 for hoisting rig to get a couch over the balcony.
- No packing needed
- Most of the boxes had been moved to the new house
- No appliances
- Mattresses, Dining Room Table, TV, Couches, Dressers
**5 hrs tops, maybe less**
Following their walk-thru the estimate came back inflated. The rigging was now $125. So for a 2bd/2bth apartment with moving basic items (hardly any boxes) - It was $800.
Asked about the raise in the charge for rigging, no response. Offered $50 off.
** Note ** Apartment Owners - They charge BY THE FLOOR for hoisting **

Many thanks to the 123 Moving team! My recent move from two pick-up locations to one off-load location was easy, from my initial contact with Jason until the move was complete. The moving team of three was punctual, efficient, and very careful with my belongings. They wrapped the furniture, packed some bulky items, and they were so kind to move pieces of furniture to different rooms while I decided where I wanted them placed. The cost of the move was reasonable. I compliment them for an exceptional job.

I cannot recommend these guys enough. They took a potentially stressful situation (moving) and made it extremely easy and FUN!
This was the first time I used movers, and was a little scared since all my friends were sharing their moving horror stories with me. I had 2 movers, they were RIGHT on time, and the nicest guys ever. They were extremely efficient and made sure to handle everything with care. The whole thing was painless (for me:)) and the final cost was exactly what I was quoted.
If you're moving, don't look any further than 123!! -

Los Angeles, CA
I was a bit disappointed by this company in retrospect. I was expecting a lot more, based on the previous reviews and I don't think they lived up to the hype on these reviews. I was moving from a 2 bedroom apt to a 1 bedroom apt, but only one bedroom + living room and kitchen was moving into the new place. Our lead mover kept on giving estimates that were way off (ie said unloading should only take about 2-3 hours, it took 4.25), and I get the feeling they may have been dragging it out a bit. There was also some confusion on the billing, with regards to their "double drive time". We had moved before using a different company, with the same stuff from a 2 bedroom into a two bedroom and it literally took half the time (3-4 hours TOTAL). I would never use this company again as I felt they were very expensive, very slow, and not noticeably better at wrapping or keeping things in good shape.
I guess whats done is done. Our move ended up taking 10 hours,( yes I paid almost $1000 to move not even 2 miles) despite the fact that everything was already boxed up when they arrived. If you are packing all your own stuff, I would definitely look around and try and find better moversComment from Jason C. of 123 Moving & Storage 1/19/2011

i am way overdue to write this review.
i hope nobody will think it is fake since i will rave extensively ;-)
i found Jason and his company through yelp and called him, he came to my place on time to give me an estimate, he emailed it to me to have it in writing and when the day of the move arrived his two guys also arrived exactly on time.
it was not an easy move since i am a girl who has a ton of stuff but the guys did an amazing job and we were ready to take my boxes to my new apartment.
i went ahead to let the cable guy in and to my utter horror i found the bath tub and the sink full of cockroaches. most of them dead but some alive and kicking. i had a heart attack, and when i went to ask the neighbours if they had similar problems i found a full time daycare center...
i decided i cannot live under these circumstances and called Jason tell him houston we have a problem.
he offered to store my belongings on the truck for a reasonable fee till i figure out what i can do.
he was good to his word for the entire week while i tried to sort out where i can move instead...
about a week later the guys showed up to help me with the move to m y new place and since i was moving to the top of floor of the building we were going slowly. the management of the place was harassing me for disturbing the other tenants taking up one of the elevators and i got so upset i decided i am going to help the professionals. it did not work out right. on the ramp the cart full of boxes fell on me, i broke and dislocated my elbow and sustained head injury as well.
i had to be taken to the ER but the guys who were moving me in brought me my bag with my kesy and told me i should not worry they will finish the move.
when i got home from the hospital everything was in my apartment and door locked up and i havent even heard of Jason yet asking for a cheque that i have not been able to write to him yet for all the moving and storage!
of course i sent it right away but i appreciated his trust.
later when i needed help to fight the management of my first apartment where i did not move in and called Jason to ask him to please write a letter of what happened to be my witness so i can dissolve my lease he did it by the next day and emailed it to me.
they are a company that truly go beyond normal service and help when unforeseen problems arise.
i HIGHLY recommend them.
they are not just a company, they are truly good human beings who run 123 moving and storage.
