I live in Los Angeles but bought a 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 from SF online and used yelp to find Jack. He inspected the car for me and emailed me a long report and only charged me an hours labor for it. I bought the car on the strength of his assessment and I liked him so much I asked him to do a bunch of work on the car before I drove it down to LA. He finished when he said he would, his prices were fair and he didn't push any unnecessary or needlessly costly repairs on me. It would have been easy for him to take advantage of me 500 miles away but he didnt. I drove the car home without incident and all I wish is that I could have brought him back to LA with me. Now I have to find someone here! Thanks Jack!

Took my baby in to get some work done. Being a woman driving a Range Rover I was hesitant to go anywhere but the dealer for so long because I've heard the stories of getting the run around by some mechanics. Woman + RR = cha ching for some places. I was extremely comfortable from the first phone call to this place. They took the time to listen to my "issues" and told me to bring it in. Once I finally had the time to drop it off, we went over the things that needed to be looked at. They knew right away what one of the problems I was having was and fixed it right there (a little lube goes a long way). :) The other work done was reasonably priced (for a Land Rover) and they even pointed out some things I was not aware of that I should keep in mind for the future. I finally found an alternative to the LR dealer and it's here in the city!
They were even kind enough to give me a ride back to my work which saved me a cab ride!
** Went back for another major job and they guys took care of me once again. I was going out of town and had the work scheduled for the week I was away. They did everything I had brought up and when I picked up my baby, she was all shiny and clean. Great guys! -

While not inexpensive (is there such thing as a Rover specialist dealing with inside-the-city-limits licensing, rent and regulation who IS inexpensive?) Jack and Peter are solid mechanics who do surprisingly quick work at very fair rates. I have been a long-time customer of another Rover specialist, but the convenience of a SOMA location may be enough to sway my loyalty, in spite of 11th St.'s - justifiably - higher hourly rates.
After arriving to drop of my Disco II, the guys at 11st Auto Repair drove with me back to my apartment in Russian Hill, dropped me off, and took the truck back to the shop to get a feel for how it was handling from the driver's perspective. I got the truck back a day earlier than expected, and the invoice very clearly reflected the cost of both parts and labor.
Jack and Peter's passion and affinity for these abominations we know as "British Cars" is inspiring to their customers. In addition, their shop is incredibly clean, well-lit, and professional-looking. They are as knowledgeable as they are honest and trustworthy, and I left their shop feeling confident that my vehicle was in the hands of mechanics who had my long-term best interests in mind.
I look forward to having them service my truck for years to come. -

Peter is a friend of mine and was kind enough to help me out before they even opened. Not only did I get great service with the plugs and brakes in my Carrera, but in the short time I was there Jack helped a sobbing girl in a Range Rover while Peter himself changed the tyre on a crazy Asian lady's Prius.
These guys know how to treat a customer :) -

Even though I've been in (and out of) the auto business for more years than I care to say, I still get the heebe jeebes going into some place new not knowing what I'm walking into. I get the same feeling when I need to do dental work. Having said that, Peter & his Brother Jack did the brake work, arm support repair & lens replacements on my Freelander, on time and within a reasonable budget. They appear to be pretty upfront in their dealings and I'm comfortable in giving them the rating I did.

I was so upset because I couldn't find an affordable place to replace my starter, do an oil change and replace my sensors! But a friend of mine referred me over to 11th street auto and they did it all at such an affordable price! And not only that my car was taken care of perfectly! They were so accommodating! Very professional! I will definitely go back to them for other car related issues! I think what really got me was their great customer service-I'm really big on that! And to top it off...my car is running smoothly!! Feels brand new!!!! :) try them out! See jack or Peter! The best ive experienced compared to other auto shops!

11th street auto repair is great. Jack and Peter are great to work with. I gave them a call for a price of an exhaust system for my truck. They had to order it and it came in sooner than expected and they were able to squeeze me into there busy schedule. Before I knew it they were calling me to tell me it was done and I could hear the nice sound of my magnaflow exhaust in the background. Give these guys a call you wont be disappointed
