Another car problem, another quick, inexpensive fix by 11th Street. And they're still extremely friendly.
No reason to try anywhere else.

If a sixth star was available, they'd deserve it.
Inspection time again. I heard 11th Street Auto was friendly, cheap and did good work (the trinity for which Yelpers yelp) and they delivered. These guys make you feel like a customer rather than an idiot.
Easiest inspection I've ever had. A+ for customer service. This is my new mechanic.
Thank you so so so so so much for fixing my car. How lucky am I that this place is a block from my apartment?! I thought my transmission was gone and I would have to sell my car for parts. You (I think your name is Frankie) fixed that stupid little speed sensor thing and only charged me $180 (when my beloved mechanic at home in Boston said it would cost about $500). You are a god among gods. I know nothing about cars but I do know about quality people and the folks down here at 11th st auto repair are q-u-a-l-i-t-y. They are truly honest people who charge fair prices and are terribly friendly. The sticker on the front door really says it all "people love us on yelp"... and they do!
I have been going here for ten years. My mechanic in Delaware gave me a $1000 quote on a brake problem I was having. Told me the brakes needed complete replacement. Smelling fish, I took my beater to Frank, who fixed it for FREE because the brakes were fine, all the car needed was a bleeding of the brake lines! Been going back ever since. Gives consistent good honest service. Works with me to get the cheapest parts. As a woman it's so hard to find fair mechanics!
All the other reviews are true: this place is great. I've taken my car in for three separate problems over the last 6 months. In each case, they did a prompt and thorough job for a reasonable price. The most recent time, they found a relatively minor problem (a loose brake pad) and so they fixed it at no charge!
This place is seriously great. I went in to get my battery and headlight replaced - but they could have told me any range of things were wrong and I would have been none the wiser. They barely charged anything for labor and even polished off what I thought were scratches on my car without me asking. Definitely my best experience with a mechanic yet.
Recommended by a friend. My girlfriend ended up taking her car here and everything was 5 star. Great, friendly and, most importantly, HONEST service. Thanks so much. You will be recommended to other friends in the area.
LADIES, this is the one! I, too, found out about this place from YELP and have to echo what other women have said about this place being trustworthy and respectful. I have a great story to tell:
A few weeks after I drove my car to Philly from Oakland, CA, I parked it in West Philly during work. After work, I got in my car and it would not go into first or second gear. Like, as in the TRANSMISSION, right?! Boy, I was freaked.
I called around and talk to some mechanics as as well as at the Toyota dealership and kept hearing the same thing $800-$1000. OMG.
I wanted something close to my neighborhood and found 11th Street Auto on YELP. I called, they were nice and wanted to check the car out. So, after leaving my car parked for a month in fear of the diagnosis, I drove it from 3rd gear down to this place. Friendly sweet Frank, with the beautiful, modest and honest blue eyes, took my keys. He didn't even know what YELP was when I told him about all the rave reviews.
1 hour later he said the car was done, and that it was FREE. Because he found a key chain stuck in the gear box. Seriously. They could have swindled me out of hundreds of dollars!
I'll never go anywhere else. They get all my oil changes, inspections and whatever other repairs, God forbid, come up. AND all the business of my friends too.
AWESOME!
Yeah they did it again.
My check engine light was on. They ran all the tests, said a temperature gauge had to be adjusted and didn't charge me a thing.
These guys rule.

Thank you, Yelp, for leading me to this place. It's hard to find a good mechanic, especially if you're female, that won't rip you off. I got new front brake pads installed for $178. At first I was a little wary of this quote, but I did some research and, for my car, it was definitely a reasonable price. The guys and the woman at the front desk were very nice. I called this morning around 10 to see if I could get the brakes done today, and they did not disappoint. I picked my car up at 10 to 4:00, and my brakes were ready to face rush hour! Thank you, 11th Street Auto Repair! You'll be seeing me again.
This review is based on a single experience, but what an experience!
The story goes like this: A regular Joe walks into Firestone for an annual safety/emissions inspection for his car. The car cleared emissions, but allegedly between the safety inspection last year and this year, the car seems to have developed arthritis (i.e., control arm and rear suspension trailing arm repair).
This came as a surprise since the car was driven for less than 1000 miles the previous year. Not to mention that the car hardly makes a squeak (1997 Civic) when driven. Anyways, the suggested expense at Firestone was $600+. What is this underpaid joe supposed to do? May be Firestone was right, but we all know credit card money is not necessarily your money :). May be a second opinion will not hurt.
He stumbled on 11th St auto repair on Yelp, which sounded too good to be true, but joe still decides to give it a try. Final bill at the repair shop ... $30. Regular Joe asks, "Are there any other repairs I should be aware of in the near future". Answer "No, you are good!"
Kindly draw your own conclusions.
Great family owned car place to have your car oil changed, tires rotated, they even told me my front brakes needed to be changed. Amazing service you must try it.
You know how some mechanics can be really condescending, especially to women? The guys at 11th Street Auto aren't like that at all. I always feel 100% comfortable bringing my car there because I know they'll figure out exactly what's wrong with it, communicate that to me in terms I can understand without making me feel like an idiot, and then fix it quickly and for a reasonable price. Also, unlike many other garages, they don't recommend fixing things that aren't broken. I only wish they were still open on weekends.
LOVE THEM!!! Nice, friendly and dont take advantage. If the do a diagnosis and nothing is wrong, they never charge me. They clear all charges before they do the work and almost always, the car is ready the same day or at the very most 2 days!! Just wish they didnt call to tell you that your car is ready ten minutes before they close.
The Sauer family has been working on my cars since I moved to Philly thanks to a tip from a friend who also uses thier services. They are fair, complete and as honest a mechanic you'll find in CC. They never do work without checking with you first and are friendly. Plus they are in my neighborhood and family owned.
