I'd never heard of this place before Friday afternoon at the pool when a neighbor and friend invited me to join her.
I arrived early, puttered around and smelled candles, looked at pretty, (local?) jewelry, and checked in.
When you walk into the shop the reception desk is in front of you with the "bar" directly behind, running deep into the shop (not wide) and flanked by wares. It's a nice, clean atmosphere with soothing music at a respectable volume. The woman who checked me in was distracted and a wee snotty, but I let it slide. I'm glad I did.
The woman who did my pedi was adorable, sweet, and accommodating. I'd only been able to get a mani appt on such short request, and when she realized/overheard my friend was getting a pedi, she asked if I wanted one, to be with her (said snotty woman at desk had said no) and wound up staying LATE to do so. Thoughtful. Kind. Generous. She even told me later we were destined to meet, that her plans for that night had fallen apart that morning.
The pedi experience is like nothing I've ever had before, and while the price is a *smidge* more than you may be used to paying they are light years beyond the likes of Spa Sydell. Then again, so are strip mall nail places, but they don't charge you as much as SS.
I won't give it all away but I'll say this: anti- gravity chairs, buckwheat neck pillows, eye pillows,amazing calf massages, tools you take home with you (and bring back for $1 discount) because they don't use tools twice, and metal instruments sealed in bags that you only see after they've been in an autoclave.

I like the 10Ten nail bar on Dresden Drive much better than this one on N Highland Ave.
Service is better at Dresden Drive, they pay more attention to detail, and they are bigger with a full spa, where as this one on N Highland Ave, is just the nail bar.
The last time I went to N Highland Ave to get a Brisa refill the lady chatted with the other nail tech the entire time, messed up my nails, and when I complained to the manager, she apologized, but didn't offer any compensation. Way to make a customer happy. -

I took my best friend for her birthday and we got pedicures together. This was definately more then a pedicure it was an experience. When you walk in its like you can feel the calmness and relaxation of the whole place.
They sit you in this wonderful chair while puttin a massager/ warmer around your neck. Then they lift your set completely back and put a mask over your eyes. All this while you listen to some type of yoga/ mediation music and those tranquil running water streams.
My pedicure was perfect but I sure wasn't expecting anything less at $40 -

I have been pleased most of the time but I find my nail tech to be a little spacey. For instance, they have a deal where you bring back your nail file and stuff to recyle them (they give you the stuff after your nails are done so that you know they are not reusing them and so they do not just throw the stuff away). Well I finally remembered to bring mine in after collecting like 4 bags of stuff. I told my nail tech more than once I wanted her to use this stuff so we could recyle them, she acknowledged me but proceeded to use new files and everything. I was a little upset but did not bring it up again because I did not want to piss her off and sound like a broken record telling her a 4th time to please use the stuff I brought in. Saving a dollar off is cool but I also really just wanted to reuse the stuff.
Also, the first time I had my nails done they did a great job filing them and making them look good. Everytime after that got progressively slacker. I'm like I'm spending a lot of time and money in here and tip you 20% every time, can you please make my nails even and actually FILE them.
I am done getting fake nails. I do not think they are me and next time I get a mani or pedi I will be trying a different place out. Service is very seriously an issue in this city. The more you pay often means the more you are neglected.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I tried a "new" European technique on my nails and it came out with lumps and uneven. I was in shock when I was there, but it was clear that the nails were not done well. I emailed the specially trained senior technician who performed the service a day later about wanting to correct the problem, as she told me I could, and she never responded. I will not return.

OMG....pefection is all that I can say. They are the epitomy of sanitation there. This was the most relaxing experience that I ever had while getting a mani & pedi. The techs are friendly and they take their time. It's a bit pricey but I firmly believe that you get what you pay for. No screaming kids, no tv's, no foreign languages, and sans the smell of acrylic. They even treated my gf lovely while she waited for me. Sonia gave her a neck and an eye pillow after reclining her in a leather chair next to me. I def will be back again!

Forgot to ever write about the mani. I loved it, though not as much as I like their pedicures. Not as relaxing. They do the manicure after your pedicure ( if you got one) and you sit at this bar. If the place is busy there are numerous people at the bar which I am not a fan of. I want to be in my own area away from others who might stare at my little nub nails- Oh did I mention I am a NAIL BITER.. everyone always stares, so I get a bit embarrased by my short stubby fingernails. Anyways, the girl did a good job and she gave me the requisite stop biting speak, which for anyone who is a biter completely ignores. When I got this mani I was at a time in my life where I was attempting to grow my nails out ( when I say attempting I mean grow them out for 4 months so they start looking decent and then rip them all off during a stressful day at work) so th requisite talk pumped me up. Now that I have my nubby nails back I would be inclined to scoff off this talk as BS.
