I've been to Mammoth many times and I have to say I really like dealing with 101 great escapes. They have a large comprehensive inventory of condos and cabins that are convenient and competitively priced. There are certainly others ways to find places that may be less, but those tend to be rentals by owner and you could run into complications when dealing directly with the owner, payment options or maintenance issues. At 101, they take care of everything. They are really responsive if you have an issue with anything. Diane and Bob are the owners of the property management company and they take customer service seriously. One of the guys in my group had his heart set on watching a UFC fight. The cable at the property wasn't equipped for us to order the fight. Bob went above and beyond by bringing us his own receiver and ordering the fight for us. On top of that, they offer free taxi service from the airport to your cabin. Last visit, I arrived by plane but it was in the early am and the condo wasn't ready so they took me to their office. I left my stuff there, explored, got a massage and when the condo was ready, they ordered me another taxi to take me to my condo. It was so easy and carefree.

Condos are definitely higher end!
Location is superb! Most are walking distance to lifts or Village. Interior is definitely updated. Granite countertops, hardwood flooring, shiny toilet... the whole 9. Be prepared to fork out some serious greens, OR stuff 20 ppl in a 2 bedroom, then hold your breath! -

101 Great Escapes has a TROVE of cabins for all price ranges. Best of all, the majority of their properties offer nearly instant lift access and are sorted by location (i.e. cabins near Canyon Lodge, Eagle). No more long walks across town or waiting for that red line.
I consider the prices to be modest and naturally you'd want to lasso a large group for any cabin trip.
An extra perk includes free wi-fi so you can Yelp your little heart away at the end of the day. Depending on the condo, 1 parking permit per place is offered, but if I remember correctly, they will probably give out a 2nd one on request.

While I was searching for a condo rental in Mammoth, I came across the 101 Great Escapes website...and I'm glad I did. If you're looking for accommodations in Mammoth, give 101 Great Escapes a call.
For the same price that I would normally pay directly through a condo management company or the reservation bureau, I got a much larger and a MUCH nicer unit. The customer service is A+! Sarah helped us with our reservation and went out of her way to ensure that we enjoyed every minute of our vacation. I will recommend their service to all of my friends and family. We'll definitely be using their services in the future! -

OMG! I have been wanting to review this place for a long time now.
Let me first say this is the most convenient website I have used to book a place in Mammoth. Have been booking with them now for more than 3 winter seasons .. they are wonderful! I've booked not only their 1 bedroom/studios, but also I've booked their 2 and 3 bedrooms as well. All have been very very nice, especially the ones that are walking distance to eagle lodge, such as Aspen Creek, Summit, and Sunstone. The ones that are close to the village are awesome as well, such as Helio's north and south and Val D' Isere.
Their prices are great. Since the first time I've booked I have been getting a discount of $20 off per night I stay because I have stayed with them before. They do this to keep their customers coming... which is pretty cool!
Every time I go into their office everyone is super nice... especially Sara. She is very friendly and always helpful. It always surprises me when she remembers me from the previous seasons. That's cool she remembers her customers.
Last time I went was during their big snow storm in December and I got a chance to meet Bob and Diane, the owners. They were wonderful as well. That day I checked in after the snowstorm Sara informed me that our condo wasn't ready yet and it would take about 45 to 60 more minutes, She apologized and told us she would let us know exactly when it was ready. So we sat in their waiting area and met Bob. He was their to make sure we were taken care of. They had wine, champange, hot chocolate, cider, cookies, brownies in the waiting area, which was super nice. We got to drink and talk to Bob while we waited! That was cool! :) But they always have goodies there when you check in and check out. The point is, I know they would do anything for their customers to make them happy. That is why I keep coming back and referring my friends. Even my friends get a $20/night discount. Awesome perk!
So thanks Sara, Bob, and Diane for making my Mammoth stays in your condos fantastic and making the process super easy! You guys will definitely see me again!

History
Established in 1991
In 1991, I moved to Mammoth because I traveled to the area a lot and was a computer consultant with the ability to work from anywhere. When I realized that condos cost about as much as a nice SUV, I picked up and moved. Once here, I noticed that most local rental businesses had little or no marketing presence. In came Timber Ridge Reservations. Bye bye computer consulting. On to something people can get excited about. Their vacation! Timber Ridge Reservations was a single location ski in ski out condo rental business. It was pretty easy to get going because no one had ever advertised the place. I enjoyed almost immediate success because of the great views and again, the ski in ski out aspect. The problem was, you need to be an intermediate skier to ski out and really should drive a 4x4 to get to the property. I soon discovered that about 90% of the people who come to Mammoth have beginner skiers with them. Light bulb. 101 Great Escapes was born. Same focus. Ski in Ski out is KING.
Meet the Business Owner: Diane S.
101 Great Escapes was started by Diane Stilwell, a successful computer programmer who, after moving up to Mammoth, saw the need for a "niche" rental agency. Her mandate then, as it is now, is simply to be the best; offering each guest a memorable vacation experience and each homeowner the assurance that their second home is well taken care of in their absence. In 2006, after 25 years of owning a seafood company, Diane's husband Bob retired and joined 101 Great Escapes to help move the company into the future. "Going from Senate hearings to plunging toilets was quite an adjustment" said Bob who still chuckles at his anointed nickname "Plunge Bob - Sushi Pants." "When asked by others what I do for a living, I respond 'make people happy.'"
