Great food, great ambiance and excellent location!  So glad they opened one of these near Sunset!!  The prices are incredible!

Went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't overly crowded.

The service was great.  Will definitely be back!!

I imagine this place gets packed on Wednesdays, as everything on the menu is $1.

    could be better...

i walked in and was greeted by several pairs of eyes, none of which connected to a mouth. i stood there and made eye contact with several employees. nobody greeted me, nobody took note of the look of confusion on my face.

confused? yeah.. where the heck do you order and where do you pick up? there are NO signs so you are left to figure it out. lame.

once i got the "where to order" part figured out i placed my order and proceeded to figuring out where to pick up. grabbed my stuff and went to bougies. sandwiches where great. too bad the rest of the experience leaves something to be desired.

    I suppose the concept is great, and by all means has wonderful potential. And now really for 1 dollar up to 3.50 per sandwich you can't expect too much. There's some things that I was not really impressed by here;

     - Their fries could of been soooo much better but instead are just pre frozen style.
     - The olive plate was just simple jarred green olives nothing special.
     -  Dipping sauces are not present.

    There's some good points that need to be noted too of course;

    - Pulled pork sandwich.... Fantastic!
    - Anchovies and something sandwich very good.
    - Good prices for the style and atmosphere.

Overall, there's something to be said about this place, but on a side note instead of offering 100 mediocre sandwich's why not just off 50 really excellent sandwiches and really focus on those 50? Just an idea.

Last night I came here and had the worst eating experience I've ever had. I was invited to tag along with friends last night, a Wednesday, when all of their sandwiches cost $1. After placing our orders we sat down and enjoyed a nice bucket of beers.

About 1hr later my name is called. I placed a separate to-go order for my gf. I figured that since mine was ready our table would be done soon, right? I asked and they said that order was currently being made, 4th in line. 1hr 15min after we placed our order, still nothing. Now, I understand that the kitchen was severely backed up with orders, but this was absurd. They finally call our name about 1.5 hrs after we placed our order. Phew! When we get everything to the table I look, and my sandwiches aren't there.

We go back to the pick-up area and check my receipt. We conclude that the girl behind the register somehow didn't take down all of our orders. I ask the lady by the pick-up area, Caroline, what I need to do, and she tells me I will have to order it again. I ask how long is that going to take, and she replies, "It's going to be a long time."

I tell my bud, forget it, I will just eat the sandwiches I got to go. My bud tells me not to worry, just order them because he was going to get another bucket of beers anyway. I reluctantly order them, and we sit back down and enjoy our dinner. My bud's fiance asks what happened and proceeds to talk to the manager, Rafael. She comes back and tells us that the manager will expedite my order, putting it 'in front of the line'. Cool, because I was dreading the idea of having to wait another hour for sandwiches.

So while eating, I hear name after name being called and nothing. I hear about 7 names called when two friends decide it's time to go home. I say good bye and then decide to talk to the manager myself. "Hi there, I placed an order and you told my friend that you would put it 'in front of the line' but I've heard about 7 names called and I haven't heard my order come through yet."

He gives me this confused look. I point at my bud's fiancé and say, "Her, she spoke to you a little while ago."

"Ah, yes, I told her I would put your order in front."

"Right, but I've heard 7 names called."

"Those people were in front of you."

"But how can they be in front of me if you put my order in front? Can you please ask how much longer it's going to be? It's late and we would like to leave soon." He walks into the kitchen and returns a moment later. "They're making your order now."

"Ok, but do you think you can tell me how much longer it will be? Like in time, 5, 10 minutes?"

He then walks away from me, walking toward what I thought was the food pick up area, where, I assumed he would talk with the supervisor and get me a time estimate. So I follow him as he walks past that area and walks outside. I stop at the door, and watch as he looks around outside, making sure everything is in order. Then he walks back in.
"So, are you going to be to give me a time estimate or no?"

"I already told you that they were working on it."

"Yes, but I asked for a time measurement, an ETA?"

It is at this point where he tells me, "Don't speak to me with your hands." While talking with him, I unconsciously used my hands to express myself.

"What do you mean don't use my hands?"

"Yeah, that, what you're doing now, stop it."

"Dude, I'm Hispanic and part Italian, speaking with our hands is what we do." He then walks away from me again. I stop him, "Hey, so you're just going ignore me then?" He stops, turns around.

"You're going to have to stop, you're creating a scene." I pause and look around me. It's late but this place is still pretty packed, not to mention noisy with all of the distinct conversations going on around us. The only people I notice that were looking at us were my bud and his fiancé because we're standing right in front of our table.

"What scene? No one here is even paying attention to what is going on!"

"Do you want to step outside?"

"Step outside? Are you fucking kidding me?"

"I'm going to call the cops on you. Do you want to go to jail tonight?"

At this point my bud starts to pull me away, telling me it's not worth it. I sit back down and begin to tell them everything that just happened. A moment later he brings out the sandwiches.

"Thank you for bringing the sandwiches. Can you please get me a to-go box?"

"Don't tell me how to run my business"

"Don't tell you? Of course I am going to tell you. You're running this business like shit." He again walks away. I get up and go to the register to ask for a to-go box. I start to pack up my sandwiches, and walk out of this place. I see the manager at the door, hands crossed with a smug look on his face. As I walk by him I say, "Fuck you very much." To which he replies, "Ha! You're going to miss these sandwiches." I pause, turn around...

"Trust me, I'm not going to miss a goddamn thing about these fucking sandwiches. I'm never coming here again."

I can't match the dramalicious accounts below, but I can comment on the service and the food. To be honest, I only tried the potatoes that come along with some of the orders, but I did get a good look at the sandwiches. The potatoes were DELICIOUS, and so were the dipping sauces that come with it.

The sandwiches are definitely a bang for your buck!! Speaking of buck...ets, they were having a special of 2 buckets for $15. One bucket is usually $12. I think each bucket has 5 or 6 beers, but either way...10/12 beers for $15 is a GREAT deal!

The only bone to pick is that while the sandwiches seemed very delicious, the bread was a little superfluous. Both of my friends didn't have the bread from 2 of their sandwiches, and I imagine if they used different buns with less bread, they would not only save themselves money, but also waste less bread.

Anyways, great concept behind the food, and great food in itself!

This is a great concept and I hope it succeeds.
Operations - Its a new place and you can feel the growing pains. The wait times are too long for what is essentially an assembly line. Everything is precooked and prepared in advance. The kitchen staff just needs to assemble. But with 100 sandwich combinations on the table and inexperienced kitchen staff (I spoke with them) its not surprising that mistakes happen. One of my sandwiches had nothing on the inside, it was just plain bread.

You can't beat the prices on the sandwiches or the beer. I thought the fries would be better than they were.

I'd be careful though with mixing too many sandwich types. I've been twice and both times the large combination of sandwiches didn't sit too well (at least I'm hoping it was that, and not the fact that everything is precooked in advance and out on the assembly table).

I would not go back on a busy night because they just aren't ready to handle volume and I won't wait an hour for an assembled meal. The manager was very open and professional. H admits the kitchen is too small and plans to expand it. I would saw though they would be better served hiring more experienced people in the kitchen

I enjoy the Midtown location. Sometimes they have a small fluke, like getting my order wrong, or taking a bit longer to make a sandwich, but this one is crap.

On the $1 Wednesdays, they won't sell you a drink unless you also buy a sandwich. What if I don't want more sandwiches? It doesn't say it anywhere on the menu, unless you're getting a MUG. What it DOES say, is that buckets of beer are $5. I ordered a bucket and was charged $12. I showed them the menu where it says "BUCKETS - $5". They refused to honor it. From the rude girl working the register, to the manager, who claims this location is, and I quote "...is a corporate location, and its tied to the corporate computer, and we can't change the prices for the buckets, or anything else..."

One of our sandwiches also took a good hour to come out. Just one of them. The rest came out fine, but to get that one missing sandwich, we complained about three times. I don't think I'm coming to this location again.

I had been hearing about the this place and its Midtown location for a while so I  was excited to try its new South Miami location before heading to the movies. The sandwiches were actually quite tasty and there is a great variety of choices. Unfortunately, I'm a bit indecisive and the actual variety proved to be a bit of a challenge. We were a little confused by the menu at first and also had no idea how many montaditos to order since there was no indication as to their size. Once we received our food, however, we were happy campers. They were all delicious and because they are small enough, you can really try different things.  I was, however, dissapointed by the patatas bravas. They were overcooked and not "brava" at all. The beer they serve is delicious and huge in size.

Now that I have been twice to Montaditos, I have some doubts about this place.  After ordering a variety of sandwiches each time, I cannot say that any of them are horrible.  Actually, the combination of the bread with the different meats is quite nice.  I've never been on their dollar mania day (wednesday) as I have heard of the line going out the door!  Both visits, one for lunch and another Friday happy hour, the wait time was between 20-30 minutes.  What takes so long to put a small portion of meat between a roll anyway?

If your a carb junkie, this place is for you.  They have nothing but carbs and you can wash it down with more carbs (beer).  And if your an Atkins dieter, this is definitely not your place; the amount of meat in the sandwich is minuscule.   I've never seen/heard/read anybody get one of the salads on their menu.

Just think- they are raking in the cash on dollar mania day, how much they make every other day as well!

Ordered lunch around 12:30 with a friend.  Two women at the next table who ordered their's ten minutes after us got their lunch about twenty minutes later.  We were joined by two other friends shortly before 1:00 who got their lunch by 1:30.  I had been up to the window twice by this time, at twenty minute intervals, to check on our order's progress.  Our order was always 'just coming up'.  After over an hour I asked to speak to a manager and was introduced to a man who was identified as the owner.  He offered no help or apology.  When I reiterated my unhappiness he became rude.  Other staff were merely indifferent and incompetent, so I guess that is something.
This place deserves to go out of business.

I have a foodie friend who raves about this place so I went by to give it a try... We ordered pb&j, cream cheese with jam, Serrano ham with olive oil, grilled chicken with aioli and smoked salmon. We ordered to go. The wait seemed a bit long considering there was not that many people there.they have extensive list of choices and offer packages of select sandwiches based on regions / Spain . The bread is amazing, crusty and soft at the same time. For first timers the selection was a bit safe but would go back to try more adventurous options. The to go packaging is cute, had to mention it. Location is open, airy and you can't beat the prices ( they range from 1 to 3 $ a mini sandwich . Overall a satisfying meal where you can have variety in one sitting.

I went to Montaditos at Sunset last night.   Its located in the corner where the wine and tapas place used to be. We had great time, amazing "montaditos" and good wine, and you know what they have music Firdays night!   You should go if you are loking for something different, casual and good...

I'm embarrassed at the amount of carbohydrates my gluttonous ass devoured at this lovely establishment. I couldn't stop ordering.... number this... and that.... and say what? Tortilla? That too! And what??? Chocolate? Bring it on!
The concept is really cool but very overwhelming. There's just so much to choose from. I would suggest you mosey on over to the "black label" and dessert portion of the literature since I found the best selections there. The tortilla and chorizo, BBQ pork and salami & cheese were my favorite. Flavors were good but I wish the bread was less bready (?) b/c you get filled up fast and it's hard to enjoy food when you're topped off.
The only thing I didn't love was that they only have 1 kind of beer. Luckily it was pretty damn delicious (warm, but tasty) so it wasn't that tragic.  Another thing I didn't love, the place smelled like grease, fritanga grease, which we took home with us and that is not cool.

As per request of my boyfriend who is too lazy to get his own yelp account I am editing this review.

I've been to 100 Montaditos twice now. I only eat seafood so the menu selection is quite limited for me. I've had the smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich a couple times now and it's the only one that'll keep me coming back. The other sandwiches I tried were ok...pretty flavourful for the first bite but then I quickly lost interest. They're nothing to give a kidney for, although the bread itself is pretty stellar. 100 Montaditos is new to this area but have had locations open downtown and the beach for sometime so they should know by now how to run things smoothly. Today's experience would prove otherwise.

We went today for lunch for their Dollarama deal that they offer every Wednesday which was a disastrous decision. When we entered it didn't look that busy so we decided to place our order, after all how long could sandwiches possibly take? Thirty minutes after placing our order I should have asked for our money back as there were  customers shouting at the food line asking for their orders from an hour ago. After an hour of waiting and with customers that had ordered after us receiving their order, I finally decided to say something as my boyfriend was already over half an hour late to work. They finally found our ticket all the way at the end of the line behind at least 10 or 15 tickets that had been ordered after us. The kitchen guy I spoke to grabbed our ticket and started working on it  while I went to get the car. All said and told it took an hour and 20 minutes to get our sandwiches that we ended up having to eat in the car.

Despite having to wait for nearly an hour and a half my boyfriend quite enjoyed the food. He thought you all should know that the the burger with guac, pulled pork and serrano ham with mozzarella got his seal of approval. The spanish tortilla with the chorizo would do better being thrown at someone.

The manager needs to be in charge of communicating the ticket times from the food line to the server handling the p.o.s. system. A simple "ticket times are running 45 minutes" (or however long it is) before the customer places the order would lead to fewer angry customers. I heard they starting doing that this evening so that's awesome.

TL;DR: Food is pretty decent...wait times suck on dollarama Wednesdays. Go that day only if you have plenty of time to waste.

I went to Montaditos for their family and friends night. Its located in the corner where the wine and tapas place used to be. This place is really good and reasonable in prices. There is nice outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. The restaurant is very nice, cozy and clean. I didnt know what Montaditos were, turns out they are  little sandwiches. They have a huge menu with many different things to choose from which i loved. Jessica, who attended me at the bar was very friendly and patient in helping me choose something from the menu. Id be back mostly for wednesday nights since all the sandwiches are $1!

Went for the first time ever on Wednesday night. Turns out it was their "everything's $1" night! I had a great time. The place is where the old Cavas used to be. It's small, but the vibe is very causal and "order at the counter" style. That night it was packed and the line to order was long, but it wasn't a big deal. The employees were polite and definitely hustling to get food/drinks out. Because the whole menu was $1, LOL, we ordered a huge variety of tiny sandwiches and tazas of red wine. Man, can those little tazitas of wine catch up to you! Ha! Love this place, love the food concept (all Spanish beer and wine, 100 different tiny sandwiches). So good! Will be back soon!

I really like this place, awesome place to hang out with friends before going out to grab a quick bit, and definitely awesome prices. The idea is pretty simple but smart... they  100 types of  montaditos ( which in spain means small sandwiches) , each one different from the other ones. You place the order using a notepad they have where you need to write the number of the montadito and the quantity you want, then bring it to the counter, pay for your order and wait for your name to be called.. and eat!. This is originally a Spanish frenchise and I have been to several  "100 montaditos" in Spain and its pretty much the same over here. Each montadito ranges from $1 - $3 depending on which one is it. The bread they use to make the montaditos is superb.. so crunchy and tasty...its supposedly made with their unique recipe. Anyways I love coming especially on Wednesday when everything is $1, literally everything on the menu even drinks (the only sale beer and wine), the only downside is that you should be prepared to wait as its gets pretty crowded that day and its hard to find open tables to sit ... I mean it is a pretty good deal. But if you are not pressed for  time or do not mind possibly standing then you should definitely come. Otherwise just skip Wednesdays, after all it is a good deal any day.
