Dear God, I had to exercise more self restraint than you endowed me with. Seriously. How do you put so much cute in one place and expect people to not buy it all?! Not nice. But really, this is by far the best vintage shop I've been in maybe ever.
1 of a Find has a great variety of clothing for guys and gals, incredibly fun jewelry, and other fun stuff like globes, board games, etc.... Some amazing designers are represented on the racks here, but I love some of the pieces with designers I do not recognize or pieces without labels entirely.
Somehow the place feels full of merchandise, yet you are not stepping on your fellow shoppers. It makes for a wonderful shopping experience.
The only problem you'll find at 1 of a Find is that you don't have enough cash or a big enough bag to carry home everything you fell in love with. Yay for great shopping in Brooklyn!! -

My wife bought me a beautiful coat for Christmas. The sleeves were too short, so I brought it to a tailor to see if they could let them out. They couldn't. I walked to the store to see if I could return it for store credit, the employee said sure. I mentioned I was about to go on vacation, and she said I could do it when I got back. When I got back, another employee said it wouldn't be a problem, she would just need to confirm with the owner. The owner emailed me saying they have a 7 day return policy, and I needed to come pick up my coat. I explained my situation, she said I could come by to talk with her - she didn't show, and she didn't respond to later emails.
We're down $125 for the coat + $20 to clean it. These employees said they would accommodate me, but the owner decided not to. I was really looking forward to being a regular here, but I have to strongly recommend against a business that treats customers like this and also wastes their time. It saddens me to write this. -

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this place..!
The store is cute and always has great pieces (of which the staff is knowledgeable about each brand's history). I haven't noticed any of the staff on facebook while I'm there... but does it matter? I enjoy browsing the selection on my own and when I need input / help zipping a dress, the staff have been VERY helpful and chatty. It's as if I was shopping with a best friend.
Their selection is great - some items are pricey but given the quality and style, I'm OK with it. They also have a sales bin full of great, cheap finds. I found an amazing ikat print business-esque dress for $40.
And if you're into fur... they've got a BAMF long, white fur coat for $1400. -

Add me to the list of customers disappointed with the store return policy and the owner's responsiveness. It is strange that a store that urges its customers to follow them on various social media and constantly check in can not get its act together and get back to people. But liking 1 of a Find is a very one-sided relationship. They like you when you're spending money and that's about it. When Goldman Sachs is printing dueling op-eds about customer service and business ethics, this should serve as a wake-up call that you cannot afford this kind of feedback in this economy. They will benefit from their location and make their rent, but they can count me out as a regular customer. And I voted for them in the recent Zagat's survey. Regretting that as much as the purchase that sparked this.

You know, I have a hard time reviewing NYC vintage stores. I'm biased. Shopping vintage stores in NYC isn't like shopping vintage in the rest of America. Everything here is just priced too high, and you have to start reminding yourself the clothes aren't new, they've been worn before, they smell a little funny, etc.
So while the new location of 1 of a Find NYC is fun to browse around in, beautifully designed and decorated, and boasts a large and impressive selection of vintage accessories (jewelry, handbags, sunglasses, belts, SHOES!), the prices suck. I look at the tags and can't help but roll my eyes. $50 for plastic vintage sunglasses? $58 for an ugly leather belt? I figure if I'm going to be dropping that kind of money, I'm better off surfing eBay for really interesting pieces.
Also, it's really annoying when there are customers in the store and the person working in a store sits behind the counter messing around on Facebook. Why not ask customers what they're looking for or direct them to something really unique and fabulous? The lady here could learn a lesson or two about customer service from the lady at Hootie Couture.
I was kinda excited about the closer location of this store because I'd heard so many great things about the one in Park Slope. But at the end of the day, it's just another overpriced vintage shop with an aloof salesgirl. So it'll probably do really well.
If you have the means, I guess you should check it out. But I know I'm better off making day trips to Philly or Jersey City, hitting up eBay or my favorite vintage store in Bed-Stuy.. -

Very cute vintage boutique located off 7th Avenue on Lincoln. Lots of everything for a woman. Very knowledgeable staff and super cute. If your looking for labels, this is the place. They have everything from Pucci to St. John. They also have original designs and re-designs.
A definite must see for women and a very welcome to the neighborhood. -

A great selection and the nicest staff. The selection puts a premium on quality over quantity. Even if you don't find something, a joy to look around.

ok, full disclosure: I have known Honey, the owner of this shop, since we were 12 years old. But even if I hadn't known her for a very looooong time, I would still shop here and I would still give the store 5 stars.
Honey has incredible taste, so the store is perfectly edited ~ no digging through racks of crap to find that diamond in the rough. And her stuff is SO well priced. The last time I was there I bought a super cute butterfly belt buckle for 15 bucks. You can always find something for a reasonable price.
And if you need help putting together an outfit, Honey's your gal. She's not going to tell you something looks good to make a sale. If an item doesn't suite you, she'll let you know. And she'll probably pull out something that you never would have thought to look at it but will fit you perfectly and make you feel like a million bucks.
So, if you're looking for a fun top for a night on the town, a cute outfit for that job you start next Monday or the cutest dress to wear to that wedding you didn't really want to go to in the first place, 1 of a find is your place. Get shopping! -

I discovered this store while waiting for my kids to finish piano lessons one evening. At first I was ultra excited. It looked wonderful from the outside, I absolutely love vintage shopping, and though I love a good bargain, I will willingly spend more to score an item that is worth it. So, while it is a lovely store and the selection is AWESOME, I mean you really find some good "pieces" in there, the prices are a little expensive. Now I do understand the ambience, the boutique feel etc etc. I actually prefer that to hunting through bins of clothing and so will, as I said before pay the price for that shopping experience. But the items are pricey and the staff, hmmm how should I put it, are a just a tad bit snobby and not helpful (ITS BROOKLYN Y'ALL not PARK AVE!). One young lady sat on facebook the entire time I was there and I had to ask for help several times before she begrudgingly got up to help me. And one other looked at me as if I walked into the wrong store, and when I asked prices for an item kind of looked me up and down before answering. I should have walked out at that point, but I had already fallen in love with the two items I wanted so I ignored the insult, paid the $400 bucks and left.
Now I will say again that I LOVE the selection, the clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry really are to die for!!!!! (even though sometimes its a struggle to find items that fit me...the buyer seems to forget that real women wear size 8/10/12!! And its not just because vintage stuff run small).
For those prices you are better off going into the city to Family Jewels. This store is not my first choice...not always a good shopping experience. -

The only thing I regret about 1 of a Find is not "finding" this store earlier! Just the kind of store I've been searching high and low for. These gals have taste, personality, and a certain quirkiness that will leave you feeling nostalgic for leaving the store.
Prices are competitive. Generally moderate, but pricey for vintage. But what you pay is what you get and Honey's selection is AMAZING. They will probably be the best outfits in my closet.
It's my new hidden gem, and will forever be, my new best friend. -

1 of a find is one of the gems in our neighborhood. This is not your typical vintage store. No weeding through crowded racks of smelly clothes in the hopes of finding a treasure. All of the clothes are carefully selected and there is truly something for everyone and every occasion and the prices are really affordable.
All of the shop girls are really helpful and have has a great sense of fashion. They help customers find things that fit their personal style and have repeatedly recommended items that I would not have thought to try on- but ended up looking great. I have never regretted any of my purchases- my only regrets have been those items that I passed on, only go back to buy them to find that they had already been snapped up.
