3 reviews for 1 of a Find NYC
This is Honey Moon, Owner of 1 of a Find NYC.
First I would like to thank every one of my customers for their support and business these past years. This support has allowed us to Open up our Second Location on Vanderbilt. As you can see by our first review, we are already open for business.
I apologize to our first reviewer for any lack of attention they felt in the store. I would like to assure her that my shop girls are usually very friendly. We make a point not to be pushy and "SELL" to our customers, but are 100% available to answer questions, Zip you up and usually have a good chat going on in the store. They are the same wonderful girls that have taken care of the Park slope store for years and i support them 100%.
We are proud to carry Rare, Designer and Unique Vintage in our store. While an Ossie Clark at 800$ is one of our most expensive pieces, a Collector might jump at that as a deal. Some of Our "Unique" Pieces wont be found at other stores. They will appeal to some and seam weird or "Ugly" to others, thats the Plus about Vintage. Beauty in the eye....
If It is Designer pieces you are looking to spend your hard earned money on, We carry Chanel,YSL, Escada, Anne Klein and soo much more. We add new items to the store weekly. Our Prices run from 15$ costume Jewelry to $125 Vintage Black Cocktail Dresses to $800 Couture Rarities.
I take pride in my business and do so with our customers as well. I work the stores on Wed & Friday. Come see me if you want the inside scoop on pieces and if you have any questions, I'll help you personally.
Thanks a Million
Honey Moon
1 of a Find VINTAGE....
PS.. I love Allison at Hootie Couture. We get along great and refer people back and forth from our stores. She does have some great Energy and i wish i could keep up with her :)
You know, I have a hard time reviewing NYC vintage stores. I'm biased. Shopping vintage stores in NYC isn't like shopping vintage in the rest of America. Everything here is just priced too high, and you have to start reminding yourself the clothes aren't new, they've been worn before, they smell a little funny, etc.
So while the new location of 1 of a Find NYC is fun to browse around in, beautifully designed and decorated, and boasts a large and impressive selection of vintage accessories (jewelry, handbags, sunglasses, belts, SHOES!), the prices suck. I look at the tags and can't help but roll my eyes. $50 for plastic vintage sunglasses? $58 for an ugly leather belt? I figure if I'm going to be dropping that kind of money, I'm better off surfing eBay for really interesting pieces.
Also, it's really annoying when there are customers in the store and the person working in a store sits behind the counter messing around on Facebook. Why not ask customers what they're looking for or direct them to something really unique and fabulous? The lady here could learn a lesson or two about customer service from the lady at Hootie Couture.
I was kinda excited about the closer location of this store because I'd heard so many great things about the one in Park Slope. But at the end of the day, it's just another overpriced vintage shop with an aloof salesgirl. So it'll probably do really well.
If you have the means, I guess you should check it out. But I know I'm better off making day trips to Philly or Jersey City, hitting up eBay or my favorite vintage store in Bed-Stuy..
1 of a find is one of the gems in our neighborhood. This is not your typical vintage store. No weeding through crowded racks of smelly clothes in the hopes of finding a treasure. All of the clothes are carefully selected and there is truly something for everyone and every occasion and the prices are really affordable.
All of the shop girls are really helpful and have has a great sense of fashion. They help customers find things that fit their personal style and have repeatedly recommended items that I would not have thought to try on- but ended up looking great. I have never regretted any of my purchases- my only regrets have been those items that I passed on, only go back to buy them to find that they had already been snapped up.
