We have hired David Aguirre and his 800-Paint Job crew for both interior and exterior work. The bids have always been competitive. The quality of work and attention to detail has been excellent! It's a very professional group.

Amazing painters who are great to work with!!! We recently hired David and his team to paint the full exterior of our spanish style house and three rooms. We were absolutely floored by the quality of the workmanship. It is like we have a new house! The entire exterior was patched, cleaned, and painted.
Picking colors was a big challenge for us and David was a tremendous help. His team is polite, friendly, and works incredibly fast. I would recommend 1-800 Paint Job San Diego to anyone that is looking for quality painters and an incredibly reasonable price. -

We recently bought a house and needed to have the entire interior painted, along with the interior of a guest cottage out back. I got quotes from multiple contractors and decided to go with David for several reasons:
- He was really pleasant to deal with. I know that it's about quality of work and not personality, but darn it, I want to give my business to people I like.
- He didn't restrict the number of paint colors we could choose. Other contractors I talked to told us we could only pick 3-4 colors before they would start charging us more.
- He uses only low VOC paints.
- His prices were extremely reasonable.
- Excellent, clear communication and documentation via email.
And that was all before the job started!
The crew he sent out was great - they did a wonderful job and we are thrilled with the way everything looks.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will call them again when we need to have exterior painting done in the future. -

I recently took on a painting project at the condo building I live in. We had several HOA meetings and decided to have the exterior trim of the building painted. The existing paint was dull and old looking, so we wanted to spruce it up a bit. I decided to be the one to research painters and colors.
After a week or two of working on this, I decided to ask about painters on a Yelp talk thread. Someone gave me the company called 1-800-Paint-Job and said to talk to David Aguirre. I emailed and then he called me back. We chatted over a few days and he sent out the bid for the job right away. He was very friendly, informative and prompt about everything throughout the process. He worked within our budget and was honest about what we really needed and what we could do without. He went by the building several times to make sure of what needed to be done. No one even had to be home.
Over a week later, I got the rest of the tenants to approve the bid and color, but we hit a snag when people changed their minds about the color the night before I was to let David know we were ready. He understood and we worked it out. Once the color was picked, I called David and set up the schedule for the job.
They started on Monday and were finished by Wednesday! The crew worked diligently and were very organized. They did not leave messes anywhere and no paint was spilled or sloppily applied. These guys were friendly and made it easy to come and go while they were working.
Needless to say, this bunch was so easy to work with, always on time and we had no problems working with each other. I highly recommend these guys for the job! Thanks David! -

I can fully vouch for Dave Aguirre and his crew. I did a floor-to-ceiling remodel on my condo two years ago, and of all the various people I hired (floor people, window people, plumbers) they were the most professional and helpful. I met him when he was exhibiting at a home show at the conference center. He wasn't the cheapest bidder, but his price was reasonable for high quality work.
First of all, David matched me up with a color consultant who helped me come up with a palette that still wows people when they walk in my house. The paint crew showed up on time every day and completed the work on schedule. They happily accommodated the extra work I asked for (and paid extra for of course), went the extra mile, and gave me tons of advice on details like the lighting and electrical work. They even helped me hang my new ceiling fans! Great cleanup, really seemed to care about my house.
The work was very good, nice attention to detail and excellent paint application. I can't speak highly enough of them, and I refer everyone I know who mentions they're getting a painter for interiors or exteriors.
I had such nightmares with the other contractors, and David's crew really shone in comparison - but even without the comparison they'd get 5 stars from me. Thanks again, Dave! Everyone loves my place! -

They painted three rooms for me last week. No serious complaints - they showed up when they said they would and did what they said they'd do. I'm happy with the work and the price and I'd use these guys again when it's time to paint the exterior. Two friends have already seen the quality of the work and decided to use 1-800-paint-job.

I recently needed 2 stairwell painted so I went on the Better Business Bureau site hoping to find a good painter. When I called David it was explained that they had a minimum. I said we would be able to meet that, figuring I have plenty to paint why not take some of it off my hands.
David did come, look around and once done said he would email me the estimate. This was a month and a half ago. I have since sent an email asking for said estimate and no response. A simple "I don't think this is gonna work" would have sufficed. I find that very discourteous and unprofessional. Just a week ago, I wrote a review about 1-800. There has been an update since that time so I want to go on record to state the 1-800 did an awesome job on my house and I would highly recommend them. David has followed-up with me on the touch-ups (which was the basis for my 3-star review) and as it turned out, the issue was on my side, i.e. flaws in wood trim (not their quality of work) so my apologies to David and his crew! They are actually at my house now doing a great job at fixing the wood flaws and on top of that, going above and beyond to do some other minor touch-ups.
So here is my revised recommendation and yes, they deserve 5 stars. David and his crew worked for me at the end of last year - painting the entire inside of my home. I received many bids for this work - David's pricing was extremely reasonable - however it was ultimately his candor and customer-focus that clinched the deal. The scheduling of my project required a lot of flexibility mainly because of flooring & baseboard install (which David thankfully accommodated) . Now about the work, his crew arrived on-time every day - they were professional, respectful and responsive to my questions and concerns (and to be honest, I had a lot!!). Overall the paint job is great - my boyfriend did some painting in college and he has commented several times about the 'trim' work being so good! He actually posted a review as well. Originally, I posted 3-stars because a lack of responsiveness from David about possible touch-ups (but he called and apologized - and immediately set-up time for a crew member to come out). Again, it turned out to be flaw with my wood trim and not the paint job.
1-800-Paint-Job delivered an overall high quality paint-job for a great price - David was very knowledgeable about paint product (which was helpful!). He was quick to respond and continually followed-up with me throughout the job. I would recommend him and his crew - and I can't rave enough about the quality of work and timeliness of completion which was on-time! -

Have you actually ever wanted to hug one of your contractors because they were so helpful?! David Aguirre and his team are, by far, the very best contractors I have worked with. We just did a pretty complete remodel and we hired floor guys, a roofer and gutter company, replacement window company, garage door company, etc. He is thorough, professional, and very customer focused. He was fairly priced and painted the interior and exterior of our home. He was also able to assist with other services such as some drywall and a few recessed lights. As a first time home owner, we had a lot of questions and frankly needed a lot of guidance. David was patient and more than willing to help us by answering questions and going above and beyond with everything. Not only does he answer his phone, he is also able to communicate perfectly in email. He is timely in all of his responses. In addition, his crew was never late, never. They were always here at 8 am sharp ready to begin their work. David is also on site very frequently monitoring the work his crew was doing. He is also able to coordinate with other contractors as needed. His contract was professional, easy to understand, and very detailed. Another great benefit David offers is a paint consultant to help choose colors. She was excellent and gave us the confidence to get some color in the home. This was included with his service. I would highly recommend David without any reservations.

We had such a great experience with David and his crew! We needed an interior paint job for the entire house and David came over for a free estimate. He explained the process thoroughly and also gave many helpful suggestions. On the same day he has sent us a clear and very detailed proposal over e-mail. David offered us a very competitive price and a free 1-hour paint consultation with an interior designer who helped us choose the colors and gave a lot of ideas for accented walls. Throughout the entire process, David was always available on the phone and responsive on email. He also made sure to update us regarding the process even when we were not on the site. David's crew was extremely professional, courteous and pleasant to work with. Every day they arrived right on time, worked carefully and efficiently in an organized manner and according to the schedule. They exceeded all our expectations and even helped with extra tasks like hanging new light fixtures or coming back to do paint touch ups after carpets installation. It was a pleasure working with David and his team and we are very happy with the results. We would definitely use their services again and highly recommend 1-800-Paint-Job of San Diego!
