My answer would be no. I have been in this situation before, trying to find the Grannie in Manhattan. Melbourne is 14 hours ahead so we are talking 2.30pm in Melbourne so that is like 12.30am so while I guess you get all the game they won't be… more

the place thats near us is a bar and grill, and its inside of a really old ass cottage thats sunken into the ground. Like its literally sunk into the ground by a good five or six feet or so, the whole building. So you gotta go into the stairwell they built under the road to get in there. I think it's not actually Jimmy's corner, but people call it Jimmy's corner. Mhmmm, Mhmmm, it's half eaten.

I've been coming to Jimmy's Corner for years. It's amazing to me that this bar exists in the middle of Times Square. Amongst all of the national chains, with their massive neon lights and signs, this hidden gem is tucked away between 6th & 7th Ave.
First, the prices alone are cheaper than what I would expect to pay in some middle of nowhere dive bar. But getting a beer and a shot for $10 in NYC...in Times Square...it's unheard of.
You (or maybe it's just me) would expect the staff in a place like this to be surly and dismissive. Cheap drinks in an overpopulated city with nonstop tourist should drive anyone insane. But not here, every one that works in Jimmy's is welcoming and always on their game.
I'm glad that after Jimmy's passing they kept it going. The memorabilia on the wall is phenomenal even if you're not a boxing fan. You can feel the history and the love every time you walk in.
No matter where I am visiting in NYC, I will, without fail, always stop at Jimmy's Corner. It is my happy place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dan K.Madison, WI0401Feb 8, 2024

I stumbled across Jimmy's Corner while some friends were in town for work. I do not frequent this area of Manhattan so I decided to let them find a place that they felt were suiting for them. Upon entering, the bar is quite small and not much standing room between the bar and the wall. Considering that we had just finished dinner and I wasn't going to be out long, I did not want to order a beverage. However, the bartender stated that I had to order something. (Pardon?) In response to that, I was going to depart and call it a night, but my friends ended up ordering 2 drinks for themselves to consume for the time being in which that excused me for having to order a drink. That completely turned me off along with the staff not really being friendly or personable. I personally would not go out of my way to visit Jimmy's Corner and obvs there are much better bars in the city with friendlier staff, better vibes, and better pricing.

This is a good bar if you want to have a few drinks before your Radio City concert or Broadway musical. Super cheap beers ($3 domestic drafts/ $4 imported) and the bartender was friendly. Shots were also cheap. But don't expect any comfort and don't plan on going to this bar to spend the evening. The bar area is very narrow and finding a bar stool is nearly impossible. So you can expect the crowded subway feeling but for the prices I definitely recommend this bar.

Best kept hole in the wall dive bar. Andre is amazing, the bar has so much character and history. Can't wait to go back.

Top notch dive bar. Especially in the location. Great bartender, good drinks and acceptable locals.

A properly improper watering hole right off Times Square and a stones throw from Bryant Park. If you want to experience the real New Yawk without the superficial sheen of the tourist traps that trigger larceny for a hamburger and revolve to nowhere, Jimmy's has a barstool waiting.
Whether you're kicking back with a few co-workers or want to impress the right person with a noir date night, a joint like Jimmy's is the perfect bourbon fueled time machine. Five authentic stars. And please don't order a Cosmo.Helpful 27Thanks 2Love this 25Oh no 1 - Jess D.Brooklyn, NY136011Feb 24, 2024
