Based on reviews I scheduled for a late afternoon massage with Fatima.
I asked for the integrated massage.
It was excellent...I loved every second...even more that I had spent all day doing the tourist thing in boston.
Slightly pricier than I expected...but it was worth what I spent...that in of itself says something.
Recommended highly! -

I received a gift card from Etant for my birthday, so decided to check it out back in January.
I ended up booking a facial with Sophia. I had not had a facial in months and with weekly travel and the dry weather - I was looking and feeling awful. Sophia was a breath of fresh air to work with. I explained to her my problems with dry skin and not being able to find a good skin care line. She coached me on what I should look for in products and recommended the John Masters Organics line, which since then, I have fallen in love with.
I would have to say this was probably one of the best facials I've ever had. I hate it when I get suckered into going to a big chain like Red Door or Bliss and leave feeling the exact same way when I came in. I left feeling relaxed and my skin looked radiant, for the first time in ages I actually had a glow!
Last weekend I booked a massage for my husband and I at Etant. My husband had Katie work on him and I was assigned Caleb. Again, what a great treatment. First, I explained to Caleb how I was having upper back problems, because my workstation is not set up too well at the office. Caleb focused on getting all of my knots out, I mean all of them - plus he did a couple great stretches for my neck. He wasn't too chatty, so I was able to relax nicely nor did I feel obligated to carry on conversation. I've had massages in the past where message therapists do not quite get all the knots out and you're just left like, uhhh are you gonna finish?!? This was definitely not the case. My husband said Katie was great and he felt so relaxed afterwards.
I would have to say, this is probably my favorite spa in Boston. Reasonable prices, Friendly and knowledgeable and professional staff - completely unpretentious. Can't wait to go back soon.
Btw, they have a very easy to use online booking system. So convenient! -

Just went back for another awesome experience. Scott wasn't available but Calib (I think?) was good too. The people here are wonderful, parking is always available nearby, and the environment is relaxing and zen-like. Totally worth it for a great massage!

I don't usually write reviews on here, so that should tell you how strongly I feel about this spa! I just received my third massage from Keith and I still feel like I'm floating. He is, quite simply, amazing. Not only does he tailor his massage to fit an individual's needs, but he tailors each massage you get to exactly what you need that day. Can't say enough about him. What are you waiting for? Go! My partner goes to Caleb, and he is equally impressed with his masseuse. We receive massages on the regular. We spoil ourselves, yes, but I also have enough experience to confidently say these guys are the BEST we've ever had! Thanks guys!

After a friend's recommendation, I came here for a massage and I left feeling great! The space itself is clean, comfortable, and it smelled wonderful. Greg was friendly, polite, and knew his stuff. I requested deep tissue because I was under stress and my lower back was acting up. He did a really great job!!! His hands were super strong and I could tell he really knew what he was doing. His deep tissue was no joke---he really got in there. I felt super relaxed during and afterward. The entire time, I felt very comfortable. Also, the lavender oil smelled amazing!!! I was totally spaced out. 1 hour of pure bliss.
I will be back to see Greg and I would like to see what else this place has to offer.... follow up reviews to come. -

Booked a massage w Fatima D. For my fiancé as a Xmas gift. The place was cozy and clean. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere and staff were extremely inviting. I was a little nervous to give this gift as my fiancé' s mother is a masseuse. They started right on time and massaged her for the FULL hour. My fiancé was extremely satisfied and said it was hands down the best massage she has ever received and she would definitely go back any time we were visiting Boston. Thank you Farima and all the staff at Etant for making this last gift perfect.

What a wonderful, wonderful place.
My sister was coming over for a visit from England and we wanted to treat ourselves to a spa day. I called a couple of places and some of them were so snooty on the phone I could not believe it. Then I called Etant and spoke to Jeanne who was so sweet and friendly on the phone I knew we'd picked the right place.
Jeanne greeted us with the same friendly manner as we walked into the delicious smelling reception area.
I had an integrated massage with Fatima who was wonderful. Perfect amount of pressure and techniques. I seriously needed that. Then I had a facial with Sophia (I think it was Sophia...apologies if I have the wrong person). Well that was just bliss. And when she left the room for a while for a treatment to soak in, I know I was snoring up a storm! My skin felt amazing afterwards.
We went back a couple of days later for more treatments and I had a herbal wrap applied by Jason, and guess what? That's right, he was amazingly friendly! I also met Scott who did the treatments on my sister both times, and he was really funny too.
What a great team of people. I can't say enough good things about all of them. Especially Jeanne who made me want to hug her she was so sweet.
Thanks so much for making our sister time together so special. -

After going to Elizabeth Grady exclusively for over 14 years, it's finally official. I've moved on to bigger and better and it's name is Etant.
We just bought a condo on the same block as Etant and before we moved in I kept imagining how great it would be to have a brow-waxer right next door. I just hoped that they were good or honestly I would've been a little heartbroken. So, we move in and on my very first phone call to them they were able to take me exactly when I needed to go. I love it when that happens.
I walked in and it was like I was already a regular. Everyone there was so super nice, so friendly and my grin lasted throughout the rest of my time with them. Deena did my eyebrows (she's really cool) and she did an unbelievable job with them. In 14 years at EG, they've never looked so good. Like, seriously. Wow.
All I know is that I am one lucky girl to be that close to one of the best spa's in Boston. I can't wait to try the rest of their services but I know I'll be in there monthly to see Deena. -

I realized that I never actually updated this review after my treatments. Shame on me! Particularly since I've been back there a bunch of times since then.
They always do a great job and everyone I've interacted with has been really nice. It's a very laid-back, non-fancy atmosphere, which is a refreshing change from the typical Newbury Street attitude-heavy showplace kind of spa.
The best part is that I have never been turned away for a treatment, even when I call at the last minute.
Simple, unpretentious, and mellow. That's what I expect from a spa, and that's what I get from Etant consistently.1 Previous Review: Show all »

First, terrific customer service. I had a gift certificate that expired which they honored no questions asked.
Body polish and massage were simply amazing. Friendly, unpretentious service. Appreciated that they didn't talk up a storm while I was trying to relax. Perhaps the best massage I've ever had. Right amount of pressure in the right places. Simply wonderful. -

I've been here 3 times now and have always been pretty satisfied. I am not a spa person - it makes me self-conscious to sit around in a robe, reading Lucky (a whole magazine about shopping?) having people cater to my needs and look deeply into my pollution-clogged pores. But everyone - from the lovely, sweet receptionist to the various practitioners - makes me feel like I belong at Etant. It's unassuming, clean, and peaceful.
Today, I got a bikini wax from Dina and it was (almost) all of the things I want a wax to be: quick, minimal pain, good friendly chatter, and cheap! $20. Minimal red bumps, and the line is even. A stray or two, but for $20 I'll tweeze 'em at home (a few always grow in a couple days after the wax, anyway). I called at noon and they fit me in an hour later!
The massage therapists are ok. I've had two treatments - with Carrie and one woman who seems not to be listed... I prefer pretty deep tissue work, though, and they do more of the "relaxing back rub." I'll stick with Boston Bodyworker for massage.
As part of the "pure bliss" package, I had a facial and hand and foot paraffin treatments from Dina and they were lovely. Dina explained the treatments and was so gentle and sweet that I thoroughly enjoyed them.
Oh, and if you go in October, they have candy corns at the reception desk! Yessss. -

I stumbled upon this great gem of a day spa while looking for a gift for my wife for her birthday. I ended up going with one of their facials, and my wife has never been happier. The staff made us both feel welcome in the spa, and I got to wander around the South End before coming back to meet my wife after the treatment.
Making a reservation was easy, and the staff is very accommodating and made this a great gift - or anytime treat. -

Five stars for Gregory's rockin' massage skills.
Before finding Etant and Gregory, I found massages a little annoying. After 30 minutes, I was more than ready to move on. What's the difference? Gregory is entertaining - witty, honest, and personable with great skills. I can't wait to go back! -

I am new to the Boston area and needed to find a good place to get waxed. From the second I walked in the doors, the staff at Etant made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Etant provides a beautiful upscale spa atmosphere for clients minus the pretentiousness and stuffiness that comes along with some upscale spas. The staff was genuinely interested in making me feel relaxed.
Bernadette took her time shaping my brows and they look great! The bikini wax was fast and efficient (though there were several strays that I had to attend to) and has lasted. Prices were reasonable for a good spa (but not cheap if you are used to getting your waxing done at a local nail salon).
All in all a great experience! Will definitely be back for waxing and looking forward to testing out their facials and massages! -

It doesn't look like much from the outside. I must have walked by the place a dozen times before I even realized there was a spa in there. But once you walk in to your treatment room, you will know you are in for something very nice. Very nice indeed! I have had many massages from the amazing Chuck Ray. HE IS INCREDIBLE. I have never had a better massage anywhere. Confident hands, respectful, not too chatty, and knows when to beat the hell out of a nasty knot and when to use more relaxing techniques. For those of you who drive, the receptionist will feed your parking meter if necessary. Highly highly recommended! -

Etant stands alone when it comes to something you can do for yourself that will make whatever is ha penning in your life better. My Sig O and I drive up on Saturdays for couples massages then a bite at one of the local bistros. Pure relaxation.
Daughter, a massage therapist - now based in CA and super critical (but in a good way), recommended this place several years ago and it has always been spot on. Immaculate...friendly...peaceful and good value. You know they care about how you feel. -

Damn, that was the fastest wax I've had since I left San Francisco! Though the person who replaces my waxer in SF has big shoes to fill (no one in the past two years has been as amazing, though some have come close), I had Sophia and she was great, and quite possibly my new favorite east coast aesthetician - fast, efficient, thorough, and cool to talk to while in compromising positions - basically all the things you want from a waxer.
Beyond that, the spa itself was beautiful, they graciously squeezed me in even though I had never been there before (was just in the area for a few days), called the day before to reserve an appointment, and they worked with my VERY limited schedule. Awesome. Luckily I'm in Boston all the time - I definitely plan on going back asap. -

I have been getting regular facial treatments from Bernadette for many years, and she is terrific. The treatment is effective and relaxing. Bernadette is professional, and totally a hoot, too. She makes me look younger than I am. The atmosphere is calming, and the rest of the staff is delightful. I have been given gift certificates to other places for facials, and I've never used them. I wouldn't veer away from Etant.

YOU NEED TO GO HERE!!
first, I had only had 1 other massage (at Aveda), had never had a facial or a paraffin wax hand treatment. They offer a package which includes all 3 (The Power Nap)... INCREDIBLE.
I didn't know what to expect, but can I say that in the 3 days since my little power nap, I've been sleeping so much more soundly than before. The woman who gave me my facial/hand treatment was friendly and accomodating... she made pleasant chit chat while moisturizing my face and was able to make product recommendations based upon what she saw in my skin.
The guy (Jason) who did my massage was great! Agan, was pleasant and provided a great massage. I will go back... (he wasn't bad to look at either, which always helps)
Even the desk person was nice, friendly, and offered me a bottle of water. If you've had a rough week and need to unwind, go to Etant, you will not regret it (And after your little indulgence here, you can walk around the corner to the Buttery for a cupcake or two!! .... not that I did that, it's just an idea) -

I was having a horrible day and entered Etant with tears in my eyes and soaked from yet another one of Boston's random rainfalls. Jeanne (sp?), the receptionist and Randy, my therapist welcomed me with open arms and assured me that they would take care of me.

My boyfriend and I had a couples massage a few days ago and we were impressed. I had Gregory and he had Fatima. Both were very polite and listened to the area's we wanted them to focus. The spa was clean and smelled great! Room was a little cold (but my boyfriend said he was comfortable) and they did not use heated oil, which I was used to from other spa's.
I called last minute, about 4 hours prior and they fit us in!

OMG!
What a wonderful find. The people who live nearby are so lucky. I was traveling for a conference in the area and needed a treat. I went in for a facial and massage and both were outstanding. It doesn't look like much from the street, but the inside is warm and inviting. They have two floors which are nicely decorated and comfortable.
I don't remember who my esthetician was, but she worked wonders on my dehydrated face. The massage therapist was Bobby who was excellent and completely professional. I couldn't be happier with my service there. -

Today my mid-massage hallucinations included Flexible Flyer sleds floating through an open window and sitting in a cave at night, looking up at a bowl of stars. This guy is the deal. You'll realize most masseurs are faking it after him.

I adore Etant. I can't often afford to get a massage, but when I feel like a special treat, this is where I go. The staff really is SUPER nice, not fake at all - I'm not sure why someone would get that impression...perhaps we just aren't used to friendliness in Boston!
The first massage I had was when I was pregnant and they took such good care of me. I recently went back and treated my sister to her first massage. She was very nervous about it, but they put her at ease, everything was so quiet and peaceful. Scott (the owner) did my massage and it was heavenly - the hour went by waaaaaay too quickly. The gentleman who did my sister's massage was a doll and my sister was thrilled with her massage and would happily go back anytime (like tomorrow!).

Excellent massage. The place is serene and beatiful and not at all pretentious. You get the sense that the staff actually like each other and enjoy working there. I found it to me a more relaxing and more professional experience compared to other spas in the area (such as Belle Sante). The masseuse also spends a few minutes talking with you at the end of the session, giving you suggestions as to how to keep yourself relaxed and then gives you a bottle of water -- a nice touch.

Etant would get five stars, but they are so darn pricey! I've had several good massages here, but the best was from Johnny. His hands are magical. I also recently had the pleasure of getting a gift certificate for a facial- it was pretty awesome (unfortunately it cannot compare to the most awesomest facial ever, but I'd have to fly to Rhodos, Greece to get that one, so Etant will have to do). My skin felt and looked fab. My experiences at Etant have always been refreshing and can relax me even on the stressiest of days (read: day before bar exam).

I got a foot and hand parrafin and moisturizing facial and a full body massage, and let me tell you that this was the best day off of work I've ever had. This place is very chill, the staff is incredibly friendly and the prices are pretty much what I was willing to pay for everything I got. The very beautiful and down to earth Dina gave me my facial and foot and hand parrafin and it was all incredible. My face feels awesome and clean and is glowing and I don't want to touch my face or hands ever again. The handsome and masculine but soft spoken Tom gave me my full body massage and I feel like puddy right now. They know what they're doing and it's worth every penny I've spent today. Seriously, go here. It was the best spontaneous decision I've ever made...

I made reservations for a Sunday massage treatment for my wife and I. Once we entered we were treated very nicely by the staff. They asked questions to make sure that they focused on the appropriate areas. An hour later I felt wonderful. I need to make sure to not take so long in between my treatments though. The prices are not expensive at all. If you have any questions about that, you can visit their site ahead of time. It is well worth the cost though! I chose etant based on the below reviews and am glad that I did. I am sure to be a repeat customer. Thanks Brooke

A hidden gem - Etant's team of therapists and aestheticians are superb. I have had a fantastic facial from Dina that left my skin glowing and radiant for a week. Her fingers magically relieved my computer-glare stress! If you want an enveloping day spa experience where you can wander around dimly-lit, incense-scented rooms, Etant is not for you. But, if you want excellent treatments at non-Newbury Street prices, make an appointment at Etant!

I just got a body polish at etant yesterday and am still basking in my skin's ultimate softness. I was torn between the polish and the salt scrub, and my therapist, Carrie, was awesome - she did both options on my arms so I could compare the two. I ended up going with the body polish because it was even more exfoliating than the salt scrub and easier because I didn't have to get it rinsed off. If I lived in Boston, I would definitely go again...only downside is that there's no cushy waiting room with bath robes and cucumber water...but hey, my skin feels great!

So one of my favorite things ever is to get a good massage. I had one once a while ago, and since then have only experienced sub par massages. Kinda like crack, it's never as good as the first time. well, that all changed today.
I went to Randy Sue who seriously gave me the best massage I have ever had. I have never felt better during or after a massage. Personally I like it deep, I mean at home I'll take a hammer to my back, but when I get a deep massage elsewhere they either do it too hard where it's more painful than beneficial, or too light where it doesn't do anything. Randy Sue did it PERFECTLY! It wasn't painful, but had enough pressure to work out all the kinks. She had a very soothing touch and rhythm and used a lot of interesting techniques I have never experienced before. I have had foot reflexology in the past at LePli and it was good, but compared to what she did during the massage it was not even close to how amazing she is. I have been to LePli a few times and had mixed experiences, their prices are about the same but the masseuses have not been on the same level as this place. same goes for Newbury St Day Spa, Daryl Christopher, and Bella Sante. they all pale in comparison!
just make an appointment with Randy Sue and get the best damn massage you will ever have in your lifetime. hands down worth every penny and moment of your life! -

I was given the "Wrap it Up" specialty package here for an anniversary gift and let me tell you, it was one of the most relaxing massages I've ever had. The Wrap It Up comes with a full body massage, paraffin wax hand and feet treatment, and a soothing herbal wrap. By the time I was put into the wrap, I was already halfway to la-la land. I can't remember who my therapist was, but she was simply amazing and so responsive to my needs. I love how real everyone is, how friendly and inviting the atmosphere is, and frankly, how the guests leave so relaxed. I'm looking forward to my next massage here (when I have the time, of course).

I was also given the Wrap it Up package for my anniversary. I changed it to be a facial and a massage, and had to pay the difference. The massage, unfortunately, was pretty terrible. Everything was clean and beautiful, but it literally felt like the masseuse pet me a little and that was it - it was not in the least bit therapeutic. I was totally bummed. The facial was a lot better, but definitely not worth the money. Extractions were also, unfortunately, sub-par. Staff was very very nice, the place was nice looking (but not out of the world) and everything was extremely clean - hence the two stars.

Had a great experience beginning on the phone. My friend and I were in from OOT and wanted 2 facials and massages. Jeanne was very accommodating and got us in despite a busy schedule. Two facials (my ethestician was incredible...a nice Greek girl) Lunch across the street at Picco's (Jeanne's suggestion) Had a fab lunch (see my review) then 2 massages after lunch. We could not have planned it better. Greg did my massage and I floated out of there! The small quiet, peaceful ambiance was just what we were looking for...many thanks for a wonderful time!

if i could live here ....!!!! The WHOLE staff was a joy to be around. from the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and you just feel like it'll be a great experience. ive never had to wait long for a trreatment or in between treatments (I usually get a facial and full body massage every time i go) and each time was better the previous. the technicians are all skilled at what they do and are never hesitate to answer any question abouy what they are doing or the products they use. i love how they tailor your session to you and your needs. My favorite spa hands down!!!

I came here over a year ago when my boyfriend gave me a certificate for Valentine's day, and I still remember it as amazing, and have recommended it to friends as such. Bernadette gave me the best facial I've ever had. It had been an especially stressful week, and I fell asleep during my facial. She was kind enough to let me relax, instead of shaking me awake like some do. My massage was nice too, although not as good as my facial.

I went in for a package deal; the scrub and hand/foot treatment was good, the body massage was amazing. I probably wont go back for the others but I plan to now make regular massage appointments with Randy Sue. She was very friendly and sweet, made sure to ask me what my problem areas were and focused on relaxing tense muscles in those areas. She knew how to apply just the right amount of pressure. It was so blissful, the hour went by before I knew it.
The place was super clean, everybody was very very genuine and friendly. No snobbiness at all. I def plan to go back. -
